Somehow this place escaped my radar until recently, and after having dinner here, I definitely want to return soon for brunch. My boyfriend and I shared: + Roasted Butternut squash bisque + Roasted acorn squash + Chicken + Flourless Chocolate cake The soup and squash were really good, and the chicken was exceptional. July 2021: My team member selected this restaurant for some of the company to meet in person for the first time. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the place. They have a wide selection of wines and a few cocktails. Their entire dinner menu fits on one page, which I personally love. I ordered the salmon as my main and it was an excellent choice. It was still moist in the center (most places dry out their fish.) We ordered by the glass for the table, and some desserts to share at the end. Dinner for 4--3 shared apps, 4 mains, about 11 drinks came to about $475 before tip. Enjoyed the apps Fluke Crudo Arugula-Watermelon Salad Marinated Cucumbers Balanced flavors. Fresh ingredients. Adequate portion sizes. My main was quite good. I opted for a special--Chicken 2 ways. Properly prepared, nicely seasoned. Unfortunately my dining companions were underwhelmed. The other dishes were quite bland and erratically cooked. One dish was served more or less raw and had to be replaced. The restaurant did offer a complementary dessert as an apology--certainly a nice touch. Were I a local, I'd return with guarded expectations. All I can Say is My god! What a letdown! I was here recently before catching a movie at the film Forum. I have been here many times before and had -up until this time- a good experience. This time-I went for lunch - And it was simply awful: The server was sullen, a request for bread was deemed inappropriate- But Now the food: simply bad and disappointing!' The Omelette with cauliflower and bacon tasted like it had been boiled and was barely cooked.It was like eating Raw mushy egg. I have had omelette s here before and they were great. It is not hard to make an omelette. My ten year old niece can make one. At these prices- $26.00( including a Soda) I'd rather get an avocado toast or a smoked salmon on a bagel from Anywhere in the Village. I noticed the place was not busy so I can only venture to guess that other clients have noticed the same changes in the food quality. Dropped in to Market Table for a work lunch. Had some great eats (the burger was amazing), but dessert definitely stole the show. The deconstructed Smore with chocolate ice cream is basically a must. Just note, if you're pressed for time, this might not be the best spot. Our apps came relatively quick, but the entrees and especially dessert took a very long time. We did have a few mishaps with orders being brought out incorrectly or an app being forgotten, but the staff was accommodating to fix the issue for our large group. Cute spot tucked in a hidden corner in the West Village: a good choice for a romantic date, because of the interesting lighting, plenty of large windows and exposed brick walls. We were seated as soon as we entered the place, and the service was professional and welcoming. Grilled octopus: solid, abs very sizable... not the usual lonely piece most other restaurants serve. Lamb shank: the meat was tender and flavorful... braised perfectly. While fish (dorata): although the fish was very good, it should have been deboned; it took forever to clean it. Cauliflower: ok... not as interesting as I thought it would be. Hazelnut cheesecake: the low point of the meal; it didn't taste of anything other than cream cheese. Overall, except for the dessert, we no issues with what we ordered: the dishes were solid and well prepared. However, I can't give it more than 4 stars, because I found the menu lacking creativity. The main staples were there, but nothing less. I think they should offer more interesting options that would motivate people to come back. read more

Staffs are very friendly. Beet salad is very refreshing! The chicken is very crispy outside, and juicy in the inside. Love the little burned cinnamon stick in the Autumn Leaves cocktail, really brings up the smoky aroma of the bourbon. My friend and I originally planned to have brunch at another restaurant but the wait time was about 45 minutes in this chilly winter weather. We decided to walk to another restaurant which was close by and this caught our eye because (a) it wasn't completely devoid of people, (b) there were seats and (c) the wait time was 0 minutes. And the reviews here are fairly decent so why not? We were originally seated at a tall table but the wait staff said we could change once they cleaned up which was awesome! The wait staff was also courteous since I had indecision on food and drinks and gave us plenty of time to decide. They also came back regularly to see if we were ready to order yet which was great. I was worried I'd have to flag them down with my weird hand waving gestures. My friend had the cappuccino while I had the hot cocoa. The hot cocoa was good (made with mexican chocolate and something else). I am not particularly used to having my hot chocolate with some kind of spice so I had to get used to the taste. But once I started sipping more, I couldn't stop until it was all finished. Food wise, I loved my plate of enchiladas. I guess I wish it was a bit more spicy but overall, it was delicious. Incredible thanksgiving dinner. We had difficulty booking online but they were v good about booking us in by email. For my starters I had the scallops crudo. Perfect citrussy and utterly melt in the mouth. I chose the holiday turkey for my main and OH MY GOD was the portion HUGE!!! The turkey was so tender and juicy. The cornbread stuffing was delicious and the giblet gravy was so flavoursome. Far too big to finish. I chose the apple pie for my dessert. I finished with a tea. They charge €95 per person. This place was great! Came here for dinner with my cousin since she lives across the street and I was very pleasantly surprised. This seems like a true west village locals spot and the food is very fresh and beautifully presented. There are a lot of options for those with dietary restrictions as well so it's a great place to come if there are vegetarians, pescatarians, gluten free etc as there are a lot of options for them to choose from. They still had a good amount of options for those without any restrictions and everything was very fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend checking this place out! I met a friend who picked this restaurant out. It was a nice-looking restaurant with big windows looking out onto Carmine St. We ordered martinis which were good. The menu is way too pretentious for me. It is just now my thing. The combinations were different which can be good but I didn't find many things I would like. I had the calamari salad which was just fried calamari on a salad. The dressing was nice though. I chose the Sea bass which was good but the root vegetables it was on were tough. I barely ate them. They sell wine by the glass but the pours were so small, it was practically a wine tasting pour. This is just not my scene. If I am paying these prices I would like something more. read more

We showed up at 6:30 thinking we would have happy hour--whoops! Happy hour is 4-6pm. But we had drinks anyway: I had Send Roses and my friend had the Puddle Jumper (both $16). We also ordered the spiced fries ($8). The drinks came quickly and the service was very attentive (it was not at all busy on a Thursday evening). Both drinks were good enough. I had asked for whichever drink had the punchiest lemon and my drink was the recommendation, but all of its flavors were quite subtle. Nothing striking here. The real crowd (of 2) pleaser was the fries--thin, crispy, and flavorful, with a seemingly homemade ketchup-like sauce on the side. Yum! I came here for a business lunch on a sunny weekday afternoon and was promptly seated outdoors, next to heaters. The atmosphere both outside and indoors was charming and inviting. The beautiful space and excellent service earns Market Table an easy five stars in my book. The food + value, unfortunately, not so much. I'm always on the lookout for restaurants with both vegan and non vegan options. If you read my reviews, I sound like a broken record, but my fiance is very much a non vegan and we do eat out a lot. We had tickets to a show at City Winery and I looked on Yelp for a spot that had vegan options, rather than a straight-up veg place. Market Table popped up. I can only imagine that it's because there ARE actually a number of vegetable sides, plus a cauliflower steak on the entree list. So when people are prompted that question on Yelp, they answer yes. It's just not reflective of what a vegan would actually want, say, if they are actually hungry. You know how there are people who swear they could never be vegan? Well, it's probably because they think that all we eat are tiny vegetable plates like the ones served here. Don't get me wrong, I love vegetables! I just expect more at a restaurant. And when I'm hungry, I want more than a small piece of cauliflower! So I ordered up a lovely Gamay plus the Zaatar Cauliflower. At $24 (for the cauliflower), I was not impressed nor satisfied. In short, it was nothing special. It was a smallish portion, which is totally OK if it had outstanding flavor, but I make Zaatar cauliflower at home all the time and it's pretty much the same thing here, save for a couple slivers of pistachio and a sparing amount of some kind of squash puree (plus the fine addition of some lovely greens. Would have just loved more of them!) My boyfriend got some kind of steak that was fine, but not 38 dollars fine. We both ate second dinners within a couple hours. I was so taken by the ambience and friendliness of the staff (the welcoming nature and appreciation when we left? Goes a loooong way), I'd likely return for a glass of wine. But... when you leave a place hungry after dropping 100 bucks for two people, it burns a bit. read more

The restaurant is really nice in a rustic way. We were quickly seated and given water. We decided to have appetizers only. What a class act. Market Table exceeded all of my expectations and I couldn't be happier. My fiancé and I had been wanting to splurge on a nice night out and I spied on Yelp and OpenTable for some suggestions and they brought me right in. I made a reservation through OpenTable and confirmed on the phone the day of. If you don't confirm your reservation by 3:30 the day you plan on dining in, they will give your table away to walk-ins. We arrived a bit earlier than our scheduled reservation time so the hostess leaded us to the bar. By the time I freshened up and took a quick peek of the drink menu we were ready to be seated. Very efficient! Our waiter was exceptional. Service was impeccable and every associate working was obviously proud to be there and passionate about the menu. It was refreshing to see and be a part of. We started with a drink. My fiancé had the Eagle Eye. It caught his eye because of the serano salt rim. He was very pleased with his cocktail and said it was the best drink he's ever had. I splurged on a nice glass of rosé champagne and was quite pleased. Excellent start to the meal. There were a few specials of the night and we decided to snag one of them. The way our waiter explained the menu in great detail was delightful. I felt like we made excellent choices which many of his recommendations. Here's the rundown of the food: Crunchy calamari : This was special. It wasn't just a pile of fried calamari on a plate. Instead it was a nice salad with a great bite of lemon and brine from pickled peppers. I loved that they split the appetizer onto two plates so we didn't have to struggle with too many plates on the table. Lovely touch. Quinoa hush puppies: If these are on the menu when you're there, do yourself a favor and order them. They were crisp on the exterior and creamy on the interior. They were perfect. Paired with the bite of the smokey chipotle aioli it was just magnificent. A perfect appetizer. Lamb neck: My fiancé's order. The lamb was perfectly tender and the fontina fonduta paired so well with it. The salad atop the tender meat was also delicious. He almost picked up the plate to lick it clean and I wouldn't have blamed him one bit. Crispy chicken: I'm gunna let you in on a little secret, unless it's fried chicken, I don't order chicken in restaurants. I'm usually just so unimpressed. But this was something special. The skin was perfectly crispy and reminded me of chicharons. The meat itself was tender and juicy. The truffled parsnip puree was a little bit of a letdown for me. There wasn't a great deal of it and the parsnip seemed to be a little bitter. Other than that the dish was perfect. I especially liked the variety of mushrooms on the gravy. Spiced fries: Super crispy and addicting. We couldn't keep our hands off these fries and the taragon aioli. It was delicious. Peach and fig pie: I hate pie crust. It's dry and bland and usually just yuck. But, this one made me bite my tongue. The crust was flaky and moist and there wasn't a hint of it being dry. The fruit was perfectly sweet and creamy and it was just perfect. The food, drinks, staff, and atmosphere were all top notch. If you're looking for a place to celebrate or splurge, look no further. Our bill with 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 entrées, a side, a dessert, and a coffee came to $150. Reasonable considering the quality and expertise. If this is the first time you are here try brunch, get the hash. I usually don't like hash, because, let's be honest, it's just potatoes and you pour ketchup on it. B-o-r-ing. But here, they do it sooooo differently. They added beets and onion, and no ketchup needed at all. It was so flavorful and unique, and I regretted every second for not getting it after I tasted my husband's hash... We also got the spicy Mexican corn and their daily special chicken enchilada. I wouldn't call the corn spicy per se, but it's some damn yummy corn.
