    BEC calzone

It's really rare that a yelp recommendation isn't enjoyable for me. I sincerely did not enjoy my food at Loring Place, and I really wanted to! First it was the lemonade that was awfully bitter. Even after the remake, it just wasn't good. Then I ordered cranberry juice and it just fell flat. The BEC calzone was recommended by my server but it was mid--it felt like the ingredients coming together were expected to sing on their own, but baby seasoning is a real thing for a real reason. The worst of it was the morning bun. Lord. There was this funky orange zest that lingered with every bite, just no. I was so turned off by the scent and texture that I sincerely suffered through eating it because my money doesn't grow on trees and I paid for it. I'm really glad that there are folks who enjoy the fare here, and I'm ok that I'm not one of them.

Nicole has been wanting to try this place in Manhattan. We were game! We got there early because richard and I had been at the American natural history museum up on 82 street. We had some time to kill before our dinner reservation, so on this chilly night we walked down to 8th (just over 4 miles). We still got there a bit early so went to the bar where we ordered vespers. The bartenders knew right away how to make one, so off to a good start. The entire menu looks good. But we had to pick something! view the pictures to see what we ordered. My favorites were: the mixed lettuces salad/dressing combination, char toast, and the sea bass

Such a cute restaurant with great food - lots of vegetarian options too! Definitely on the pricier end. Loved the hummus wish it came with more bread tho. The pastas are great - tasty creamy, not so Al dente which I like. The fish was also delicious. Overall great meal all my coworkers loved it. Dim lighting made it romantic so it's good for dates but I went in a group of 9 coworkers and it was awesome - quiet enough for us to talk and hear one another

Very sad to see Dan Kluger's institution shut its doors on July 14 -- if you haven't been, go before it closes. Expect delicious and locally sourced dishes. Hopefully this won't be the end.

Came here for brunch with a big group. The AC was not working so it was pretty hot inside, all the staff were visibly sweating which was not great. Additionally, a good amount of the drinks and food items, as well as all espresso drinks, were unavailable for some reason. I ordered the corn pizza, which was unique and tasted pretty good. I also tried some of the French toast, which had some good sauces but was a bit mushy. The restaurant is big a spacious which is nice, but was pretty dead when we went (noon on a Sunday). Worth checking out if you haven't been but I definitely would not go back.

Server was great! She guided us through this challengingly difficult menu. Pear Vodka was good for my wife, sweet and refreshing. I really liked the Szechuan Margarita. Wife's birthday and sent broccoli with orange rind that we considered, just ok. Super interesting wine. Brussel sprouts dope!! Get the Ricotta app!! Has eggs FYI, but made me feel like i was eating in a barn upstate.

Had a great Father's Day brunch at Loring Place today with my wife and daughter! This is a very cool restaurant right in the heart of Greenwich Village. The place is beautiful inside and the service excellent! Started off with an Aperol Spritz and we shared the Baked Ricotta appetizer. The ricotta mixed with pesto and favs beans was outstanding on the toasted sourdough bread. For an entree, I had the Creamy Scrambled Eggs. They definitely were creamy as they were made with cheddar. This is definitely a restaurant to check out if in the area. The chef has worked with many well known chefs and it's a great experience being here.

Came here for brunch and the menu was very limited and our party of 7 pretty much ordered everything. I had the Cheddar Waffles and eggs which was not bad, but I definitely enjoyed the Baked egg and buttermilk pancakes more. The asparagus fries were a winner too. Very cute place; great for a date or just meeting with friends and family. Get ready to open your pocket book as it is a little more on the pricey side. Service was excellent.

Our booked dinner reservations had to be changed due to a schedule conflict and we were able to get a last minute reservation at Loring Place. It was almost enjoyable meal. Tried the Tuna Crudo, Grilled Sugar Snaps, Baked Ricotta w/ pistachio pesto and fava beans (superb) and Grandma Pizza (delicious deep pan pizza) The large plates were: Roasted Cauliflower, Roasted Black Bass and the special Gemelli. The last two dishes were memorable. Finished with the Almond Cake and a Sundae The dining room was lively and the service was terrific.

Loring Place is a great spot with lots of vegetarian options which was so nice. The setting is nice inside and service is very good. I got the broccoli salad, asparagus "fries", and garlic mashed potatoes. All were really good. The asparagus fries were a unique dish and done well. The garlic mashed potatoes were super flavorful and went well with the other food. Mashed potatoes are sometimes bland at other places but this one was not at all. Broccoli salad also was unique and good. For dessert we got the vanilla ice cream sundae. It was so good and had lots of caramel sauce. The toffee pieces in it were such a good addition and the dessert is a step up from ice cream sundaes at other places.

I recently came here with my dad for lunch. We shared the beet salad, which was delicious. I ordered the turkey burger. It was served with a lemon aioli, which was a bit overpowering and didn't taste very good, unfortunately. That being said, great service and ambiance as always.

Great brunch spot! We made reservations ahead on Resy. We got the tuna crudo and butternut fries. The fries were delicious - highly recommend!! You won't even know they're not real french fries. The tuna crudo was very flavorful but on the saltier side. For our entrees we got the grandma pizza and the grilled chicken paillard. The grilled chicken paillard is light and a great salad - flavorful dressing and very fresh. The pizza was pretty good as well. Note that portions are all the smaller side. All our food was for two people but I don't think it would be enough for anymore. Modern vibe, nice service! If you're looking for a nice brunch New American Place this is it. I would come back to try the dinner menu.

About 10 minutes before opening on a Saturday night there were some people waiting for the doors to open. Once we asked for a table, we were asked to step to the side so reservations could be checked in first. Luckily in a few minutes we were offered seats at the bar since they had full reservations that night. The bar was comfortable and the bartenders were great. I loved watching the cocktails being made and speaking of cocktails, they are excellent. The Bool included tequila, pomegranate and jalapeño; the other cocktail was a spritz of sorts and both were fabulous. The menu is Korean tapas, so we ordered a bunch of items to try. As each dish was served the server described the dish and even provided some instructions on the best way to eat it, if applicable. Tuna Tartare was quite good, the knife cuts were a bit inconsistent which was surprising given the level of everything, but the dish was still enjoyable; citrusy with crispy sunchoke chips. Oyster Mushroom Tacos were incredible. It didn't even feel like I was eating mushrooms. The tacos were so falvorful and balanced. If they ask you if you want to add a 4th taco to the dish, definitely say yes. Berkshire Kimchi Fried Rice served with a beautifully runny egg brought the spice and the dish was both elegant and homey at the same time. Just wonderful Birria Mandu served in a bone marrow consume was spectacular. Fried Chicken Wings, we opted for the sweet and spicy version served with kimchi daikon were sublime and addictive. They also provided a wet towel with the dish so you can clean up afterwards. Those 5 dishes were a good amount of food to feel satisfied, but we couldn't stop there and needed to try dessert. Do not pass up the Black Sesame Bread pudding, it was sublime. Served in a sizzling cast iron pan with candied almond slices and ice cream. It was so unique and really really delicious. The whole experience from the hostess to the servers to the food was A+ and I can't wait to go back.

We ordered 5 dishes and it was enough for 2 of us. Even though portions are small, it's actually pretty filling. Edamame dumplings were different as it had a cheesy flavor and the edamame itself wasn't noticeable. The sauce surrounding it was savory. Also a must get. Wish it was more than 4 pieces. Lucky noodle was super chewy and reminds me of a Chinese noodle soup with ground beef. It has a hint of cumin flavor even though not sure if that ingredient is in it. The steak was super chewy and flavorful but is not a must get. Popcorn chicken was the weakest because it was a bit too dense. The only thing we didn't like was the plantain as it was just half a plantain and the dip it came with didn't mix well in my opinion. The drinks tasted stronger than I expected but that ended up with the drinks being a little bitter. Service was nice and quick here! This is a great spot for a girls night out. The tapas we tried were great. Patatas bravas were crispy on the outside, with a fluffy inside, and maybe a touch too much salt. The hamachi crudo was excellent, with a unique coconut and mango sauce that gave it a touch of sweet to go with the zest. And the pulpo was great, the octopus was well prepared and the sauce was hearty without dominating the taste. The half chicken was the most memorable dish; our server recommended it, and it's clear why. It was unbelievably juicy and tender, with plenty of lemon flavor in every bite. Lots of meat, don't expect a small plate like the other menu items! All in all a good experience in a nice atmosphere, definitely staying on the list for tapas in the future.
