Yum! This food is good but expensive. If you want to add protein it's an extra charge and a big one ! At least $18 to add protein to a salad . We opted to split their special beef sandwich with pickled veggies and an aioli with a bit of a kick . You sit yourself here and pay at the front which is nice . Nordstrom Café is a nice little getaway from the mall -- calm, quiet, and a relaxing spot to take a break. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table, so remember to leave a tip. The food was good and met all of our basic lunch needs. We had the Caesar salad and the Cobb salad. The Caesar was average, and the Cobb was okay -- nothing special, but both were fresh and satisfying enough for a quick lunch. read more

I come here every time I'm with my parents. This is my childhood restaurant. The margarita pizza is honestly one of the top and I live in downtown Chicago! I rarely give out 5 stars but this place deserves it. It's consistent and always hot. I had one instance where the pizza was overcooked, but they remade it without charge. Honestly would come back. Super friendly staff and ambiance is professional and quick! This place also allows dogs so it's definitely worth the trip! read more

Nordstrom Cafe is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. They offer a wide variety of appetizers, entrees and deserts. They also have a beer and wine bar. It's a real hidden gem as it's on the 3rd floor way on the far side by home gifts. You need to take the escalator/elevator to get there as you won't find it just by entering the store as it's not advertised or posted. My friend took me for birthday lunch and we were pleasingly surprised at how nice it was. I ordered the double beef cheeseburger that was charbroiled and cooked to perfection the way I had requested. My friend ordered the wild salmon nicoise' salad. Dressings and condiments are made fresh daily as are all the decadent deserts. They featured red velvet cream cheese iced cupcakes, lemon ricotta and chocolate chip cookies. Very casual relaxing and private dining experience. Daniel our server was very friendly and brought everything we needed. Food was prepared and served quickly. Definitely a great place to meet up. read more

This is a quiet place on the third level (as opposed to the e-cafe right outside Nordstrom lower down) where you can get pizza, salad, pasta, sandwiches and such, though today my friend and I just came for some beverages and cookies. The latter were especially great: chocolate chips, macadamia nut and coconut, yummm. The huge window let in some lovely spring light and looked out over...the parking lot lol. Well, you can't have everything. Our server was attentive, though it was grating that someone younger than me kept calling me "honey." I LOVE Nordys so I was pretty positive I would also love their food. Yes! I was correct. I walked in during my work lunch. I faced many difficult decisions when looking at the menu...margarita pizza or a berry filled salad and soup? Of course the carb devil within me won. I went with the margarita pizza. I sat down and drank my beverage and looked at the window...and then my watch. I didn't really think my decision through. Pizza takes a bit to make, I dont recommend ordering this if you are on a quick work lunch. My pizza arrived and it was love it first bite. My pizza was perfectly crispy on the crust. It was topped with generous slices of tomato and ribbons of basil. The pizza was large enough to share, I ended up taking it back to the office with me for a later office snack. I will return next time and go with the soup, I heard that the tomato soup is a must, and I also imagine its served up quicker for a work friendly lunch. P.S. If you want a straw for your beverage you now have to ask it, I think its an effort to be environmentally conscious and responsible. read more

Woodfield is crazy during holidays. Packed with people who seem to forget that Christmas shopping means you still have to have some common courtesy. I don't even shop at malls anymore, this is more of a 'fun' trip. Yeah, not fun it was really a nightmare and Nordstrom seemed like the only place where I could catch a breather. The Cafe being a zen center of it all, quiet, calm and restful. Their tomato basil soup was delicious, slightly creamy, slightly tangy. Perfect. The cilantro lime shrimp salad was tasty, I asked for no croutons and the salad was still good-with delicious grilled shrimp that weren't uh, shrimpy but pretty large and numerous, definitely a shrimp salad not just a salad with shrimp. The roasted peppers, corn and the vinaigrette all added to the shrimp and greens, definitely a tasty combination. Definitely a great good place to eat and a GREAT place to get away from the craziness of the holiday crowd. read more

One of the best places to escape mall fast food if you are shopping at Woodfield. Partner in crime had the white cheddar and asparagus grilled cheese with a teeny tiny bag of peppered chips and all that: Aged white cheddar cheese, caesar dressing, oven roasted asparagus, crisp country bread. I gobbled up the WILD SALMON NIÇOISE, a salad with organic baby greens, herb and dijon roasted salmon, green beans, kalamata olives, petite tomatoes, red onion, potatoes, egg, capers, dijon balsamic vinaigrette. Salmon was tasty however I'm picky about meat and eggs. Prefer that both are prepared to a medium temp rather than well done. Good iced tea here and for take home dessert, get the cookie Royale: oatmeal, chocolate chip, coconut, macadamia nut delight, moist and crunchy in the right places. read more

I came here for a girly lunch and let me tell you the food here is great. The setup is such that you stand in line and look at the menu, pay/order, and then scout for a seat/booth. Lunch time is packed so we were lucky to find a nice lil booth to chill in. I ordered a chicken panini sandwich that happened to be the special for that day and it was soooooooooooooo delicious. Chibatta, giardenera, sliced roasted chicken breast, cheese, lettuce, OMG. It was great. Too bad it was not a regular item on the menu...I would be there everyday for that. This is a nice place to stop for lunch while you're shopping at Nordstrom. It's up on the third floor, away from the hustle and bustle of the mall. There are daily specials aside from the (somewhat limited) menu, including a featured soup, featured entree, and usually a featured wine. How it works: you take a menu from a stand at the entrance. You order at the register and pay, then are shown to a table. Waitstaff will bring it to you and charge you as needed if you order more food--no need to go back to the register. The salads are huge, the panini are toasty, the pastas are loaded with tasty ingredients, and the staff is always friendly. There are a lot of kids here during prime Stay At Home Mom hours, so be sure to come in on a weekday if you love seeing babies, and dine here on weekends if you don't. My main issue is that sometimes, there's a wait, and they aren't always very good at telling you when this happens. A few times, I have been in line, they hand me a menu, tell me to order whenever I am ready, and then stop me when I go to order and say I need to wait for a table to leave. It can be a little frustrating, but it's usually worth it! Don't forget to order dessert. Their cupcakes are excellent, with a great cake to frosting ratio. Their macaroons are deliciously moist inside but crunchy on the outside. They also give you sample of their house brand chocolate with your receipt. read more

One of my faaaavorite places to eat! Service is never remarkable but thats ok. So all nordstrom cafes you order at the front and a server brings your dish, your drink, and checks in on you. I always get the chicken and maple glazed bacon sandwich with a side salad. This sandwich is SO yummy and the balsamic on the salad is superb! My mom got the salmon dish and enjoyed hers too. Seats by the windows are hard to come by but we got a booth there today and it was so special. It was a lovely day with a lovely meal. Will definitely be back. It is costly, but it's nordstrom so it's to be expected and the food is good enough that I keep coming back. For a sandwich, salmon entree, and a cupcake it was $42. read more

Shopping at woodfield mall there aren't too many options to eat. It's either you eat at a sit-down restaurant like Cheesecake Factory or eat fast food like McDonalds. Nordstrom cafe is a good median in the mall, you get high quality, sit down food but convenient like fast food. My absoloute go-to when I want to treat myself to a nice lunch out! I have been going to this place for the past 10 years plus, and can always count on the fabulous staff and wonderful food to satisfy me. The ambience is nice and I enjoy the numerous and healthy options they offer. I am NOT a salad person in the least, but for some reason this is the only place where eating a healthy salad is a treat! They change their specials weekly and always showcase something delicious. They also use the freshest ingredients and can alter anything to suit your preference. A big enough variety of items are offered for lunchtime, but the menu is not so big that you can't decide. Some ppl complain about price , but I don't find them much higher then a meal at Panera or even a TGI for lunch. I would say an average entree plus drink is probably about $15 so I wouldn't reccomend for an every day lunch place, but definitely no different then going to a sit down place. The tip situation can be challenging though as you don't really have someone taking your order, since it's a counter set up. But you do have them bringing your food and refills, and they'll even get something for you from the counter if you decide you want dessert or something so you don't have to wait in line or get up. I usually tip as I would normally, but mostly because I've been going there for years I tend to tip a bit extra based on the staff that I have known for a while now who are always no less then wonderful. Another big plus, adults can order off the Kids Menu which is extremely affordable. You can get a grilled cheese, tomatoe soup, chips, fruit, and a drink all for under $6. Don't even get me started on the bakery!....my favorite is the Lemon Ricotta cookie that really does taste more like a fabulous cake to me :) Love it all...highly reccomend! read more

I have eaten at 2 different Nordstrom Cafes and they seem to be consistent in quality. Last weekend I had the roasted veggie plate. Whoah! It was huge. Roasted corn, potatoes, red pepper, yellow pepper, zuccini, carrots...am I missing anything? For $8.50 it was a steal although the food overall is a little pricy. The veggies were perfectly tender yet still had a little crisp. Pretty sure they used olive oil and just the right amount of seasoning. I also got the tomato soup. Just what I needed on a cockeyed Chicago weather day. I knocked off a star because I dont like the fact that you order your food at a counter and then you get waitress service. So you still have to leave a tip. The benefit of counter ordering is that you save by not having to tip...not here. read more

I have ate here a few times & have never left dissapointed but ibhave also.never left with a 5 star feeling. The service has always been good & the establishment has always been clean. The main reason I can not give this restaurant 4-5 stars is because the menu has never really stood out to me. This is a good place to come after shopping if you want a sandwich or a fruit plate but other than that there is nothing that stood out on the menu to me as something I had to try. Went here last night with family and friends (6 kids total and all under 6 years old). It was chaos but the staff was wonderful and very accommodating. It is hard to find a good place to eat on a Friday night with kids and no wait times. They also had a kids menu with many options, which is another plus. Really enjoyed my turkey cranberry sandwich from Marketplace cafe. All ingredients were fresh and the cranberry chutney sweet and tart flavor was a perfect compliment to the turkey breast and peppery arugula. Served on a delicious toasted wheat bread. I chose the side salad rather than chips and it was mixed greens with grape tomatoes, croutons and topped with grated Parmesan. I would highly recommend! read more

I've been coming to this Nordstrom Cafe since I was a little kid -- my mother used to drag us here when she couldn't stand to make another sandwich for me or my siblings in the summer. Now, 14+ years later, I work in an office building nearby and regularly stop in for lunch. It's quiet, fast (I'm usually in and out within 35 minutes) and the food is great, though maybe a little expensive for what you get. I usually rotate my lunch order between the grilled chicken & strawberry salad, turkey club panini, and chicken & artichoke pasta. I always get a cup of the tomato basil soup -- it's delicious! Bonus: I mentioned that I have been coming here for years. The waitresses that were here when I was a kid are still working here, and they recognize me, say hello all the time, and ask about my mother (we were a memorable bunch -- my mom had four kids under ten, including a set of twins). This was my first time here. I went on a recommendation by a gal pal that told me she loved the tomato soup. The set up is great, you wait in a short line, order and pay for your food, then you are seated and your food is brought out to you. My niece and I both had a chicken sandwich that was delicious and they do have a kids menu so my daughter ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese and it came with fresh fruit. We all liked our selections. Refillable drinks, nice menu with salads, sandwiches, pizza's and pasta. I always appreciate a kids menu as well. We also ordered dessert, we shared a brownie (gluten free) and a lemon bar, very yummy! The atmosphere is a little boring but who cares, the food was filling and good. I would definitely go back! Great place to stop for lunch while shopping at the mall. It's hidden on the third floor next to the juniors section. Brought my toddler here for lunch yesterday and the kids menu was great. His chicken tenders looked delicious and came with a side of fresh fruit. There is minimal wait time since you order and pay at the front before seating yourself. The wait staff brings your food and drinks and you are free to leave when finished. No need to occupy your kids while waiting for a check. I find the service to be inconsistent. The cashiers who take your order are generally polite and efficient. The severs who bring the food over can be hit or miss. Today, we had Matt. He's new, I think, as I've never seen him before. He was definitely a miss for me. I could hear him checking on the tables around us, asking if all was well... A hidden cafe on the third floor of Nordstrom at Woodfield mall. Take your time to check it out! They have an amazing cilantro lime vinaigrette that I cannot get enough of. This is another place I stop in frequently for a bite to eat while out shopping. I guess shopping and eating just go together! I LOVE their roast beef sandwich!! Mmmmm...so good! They use medium rare thinly sliced beef and serve it on a roll with horseradish sauce and greens and you get to chose from a side of soup, salad or chips. I have also had their turkey club panini, which is also delicious! The service is decent, not the best but I guess it's because they are always very crowded. For dessert, I have tried their Rice Krispie treat and it was so moist and gooey! The downside is it is a bit pricey, but you can tell that you are getting what you pay for once you see the quality of the ingredients they use.
