We got a table right as they opened at 11 am. Since my previous visit, they now are a sit down, meal comes to you type place. I don't mind that at all! Our server, Jason, was quick, courteous and helpful! I couldn't decide between the prosciutto pizza and the French dip and he swayed my interest toward the French dip. Lemme tell you, I'm glad I chose it, it was so tasty and the roast beef was melt in your mouth!! My husband loved his sandwich and is now eager to come back again and try something new. I've been coming to Nordstrom Café for years, both here and at other Nordstrom locations, so I was genuinely surprised by what I experienced today. One of the things that always made the café different was the ordering process. You could walk up, see the food, place your order, grab a table, and your meal would be brought out when it was ready. It was simple, efficient, and honestly part of the appeal. It felt modern and worked incredibly well. It appears that they've very recently switched to a traditional wait-to-be-seated model, and for me, it takes away much of what made the experience unique. What was once a quick, enjoyable stop during a shopping trip or even when in the area, now feels like every other sit-down restaurant. The whole experience feels slower and less convenient. I was equally disappointed to see several longtime menu favorites gone. What's confusing is that many of the ingredients still appear throughout the menu, so it's hard to understand why some of the most popular dishes were removed in the first place. Replacing proven customer favorites with less appealing options seems like an odd decision. The food was not as good either. Odd. As an executive, I can't help but be confused as to why large corporations sometimes make significant changes to things that are already working. Too often, they start changing things simply because they can, not because customers are asking for it. In the process, they end up losing the very things that made people loyal in the first place. The Nordstrom Café experience used to be one of the highlights of shopping here. It was efficient, different, and consistently well executed. Today's visit felt like a step backward. Unfortunately, this experience changed my mind about eating there in the future. What used to be a regular lunch stop for me no longer offers the experience that kept me coming back, and I won't be eating lunch there anymore. read more

Not only is the food delicious but the service is great too. Table service is now offered and reservations can be booked through Open Table. I come here for the tomato basil soup with crostini. It is so nice and light and not too tart, softened with a light cream sauce. My other favorite is the cilantro lime salad or cilantro lime chicken tacos. Both are nice and light. If I'm really hungry, the Salad Nicoise with Salmon is a good option. Very filling and served with an herbed Salmon. This is a nice place to sit down and relax after shopping at Scottsdale Fashion Square especially if you parked near Nordstrom! The menu is extensive with pizza and pasta and salad choices and crème brûlée for dessert. But don't do a takeout for crème brûlée as packing it is a disaster! Visited my mother for Mother's Day and I had received an email with brunch happenings so I was lucky that Scottsdale location offered the brunch, booked the reservation and the price was reasonable I believe it was about $50 per person. It was super cute from start to finish, wouldn't expect anything else. Before entering the marketplace cafe they had some freebies. Make your own bouquet, pictures and other goodies. We were greeted immediately and sat. Our servers were so amazingly nice and food was great, Shakshouka was good and spicy for me. Will absolutely recommend and do it again. read more

So disappointing to order the Santa Fe chicken panini I would get 2-3 times a week, and to instead be served a grilled chicken burger upon the menu changing. :/ And as a mall employee, it's nice to have a go to meal you can get quickly. Making us wait to be seated, order, and pay, rather than get to order/pay/seat myself has officially made this a no-go for a mall employee lunch option that's efficient. Sad! read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. I don't know what happened to this place. I used to come here when I would be shopping in the mall for a fresh lunch. Went today and was served undercooked chicken that had clearly just been heated up and not freshly prepared. My mom's dish was a ravioli dish that was also cold. Being a few weeks pregnant and eating undercooked chicken is extremely dangerous and I'm now terrified. Wanted to warn others not to eat here after my experience today. Manager came out after I complained about the raw chicken and looked like she was 16 years old. Really sad that this is what the restaurant has turned into. I have been coming here for years and realized at today's visit that I have not let other yelpers know what a sure thing this cafe is. The service is always fantastic- although you order your food and beverages at the front, they still have servers that make sure everything is okay after you sit down. They also offer to refill your soda or iced tea so everyone is taken care of. The food is always fresh. I love their tomato soup but today I had the Caesar salad with chicken and it was superb. The grilled chicken was tender and delish. I have tried the sandwiches as well and they are always premium. I don't think many places do this, but they consistently deliver quality food that is plated nicely. I will keep coming here for as long as I can. read more

Get water from the drinks machine fast food style, I think I was supposed to get my own coffee and silverware too, couldn't find it, no one came by with any. Food was average. Decided to grab some lunch at the Nordstrom Marketplace Cafe after doing some shopping. The cafe overlooks the mall, and has a lot of seating. You order and pay first, and then the food is served. The servers were attentive and made sure all the food came out fresh to order. My half cobb salad was divine, and I LOVED the dijon mustard dressing. The spinach dip was also pretty good. They have a nice wine selection available if you need a mid day pick me up! read more

First time visiting the café. Surprised by the oddities that transpired. At the register, our plastic cups fell to the floor and the gentleman was pretty unhelpful with the looks he gave. I had to ask for new cups even after he saw. The register immediately asks you for a tip after paying. As a prior server, I'm very understanding but to automatically request a tip without yet being served seemed quite strange. Server was attentive but I was not too impressed given the incredibly soggy pizza. I was surprised it was completely soggy. I then inquired about providing a tip on my card and was told I had to tell server what the tip was for him to make the adjustment. No new receipt with verbally added tip was provided. Service was attentive but the cafe operations were odd along with moist pizza. For what was spent on three items, I would have spent the same amount having gone across the street but with an edible pizza. Sadly, this one had to be tossed. Such a shame to be wasteful. read more

Having visited Nordstrom's Marketplace Café multiple times over the years here at the Nordstrom Scottsdale Fashion Square and many, many times at their East Coast locations, I have never been dismayed at the quality, value, service and tastes offered. Especially at our last visit which included savoring one of my fave sammiches of all time - the French Dip (a close second to an Original Cuban Sammich). That's not to say, everything else we've tried at this location was either excellent, or really darn close to it. The dishes served at Nordstrom's Café may be considered by many as an afterthought to accommodate store customers, but in reality their food is more than above average. In many ways comparable, if not even better, than restaurants that either specialize in, or offer such similar delectables. Take for instance their Clam Chowder, or their Tomato Basil Soup... both of which are better than, or maybe even surpassing the taste and quality of many a restaurant in the Valley. Ordering any of these two soups you'll never go wrong. Not only great, but consistently good. I have found very few places locally that can or will do better. When it comes to sandwich quality, ingredients and taste for a moderate or light lunch while at the store or mall, they more than outperform many of the shopping center's eat shops! Their Roasted Turkey & Avocado Club with excellent, juicy and tasty slices of turkey, perfectly crisped bacon, fresh lettuce and tomato, along with a peppercorn aioli put into their country bread is well above average - or just plain great. As I mentioned earlier as one of my fave sandwiches, their rendition of the French Dip with their tender and tasty medium rare Angus beef, a tangy moderately sharp white cheddar cheese, and a parmesan coated French baguette and some fab Ojus is terrific. Everything we've had there has been very, very good to exceptional. The offerings are well worth a stop. Our experiences with the likes of Artichoke & Spinach Dip, Spicy Shrimp Pomodoro and more are equally delectable. And the prices are actually moderate in comparison to anywhere in the mall. Lunch at the café is a terrific value with moderate prices. And the service is impeccable... as good if not better than many upscale restos nearby - kudos to the staff. My husband and I have eaten at Nordstrom Cafe many times. Today it was a huge disappointment. Pasta Bolognese with chicken meatballs was not hot nor fresh. It had minimal sauce. Server not available to add more. My salad, the Honey Dijon cobbler with skirt steak was also disappointing. The steak was tough and the salad was minimally dressed and not fresh. The server removed my steak knife prior to my completion of the meal leaving me to tug at the meat to chew it. Salt and pepper requested were brought to the table after we completed the meal! Very, very pleasantly surprised with the quality of my visit. The environment is clean and chill, perfect for a date or even a calm space to bring your laptop and work in. The food is to die for! In our group, we ordered the heirloom tomato + burrata, spinach artichoke dip, salmon, steak, tomato soup, creme brûlée, and mushroom ravioli and every single item was cooked to perfection. I used to love this little cafe. It's changed & not in a good way. The prices have increased & they have added higher priced items. Too bad they are not great. My husband ordered the gnocchi & it was in a soupy flavorless sauce. I ordered the short rib grilled cheese that came out VERY GREASY. The Caesar salad was delicious. Also the clam chowder is really good. Our tab was $56 & we left most of it there. Too bad because this is a convenient spot & the wait staff are very nice. read more

Okay I was a little skeptical -- a cafe in a department store...in a mall. Oh my this place is popping and oh so busy. The food was amazing! Lost a star due to service. Service was okay, could have been better for Nordstrom's but I will be back. Seemed like the server needed more help! I had the turkey club and the soup of the day. Sandwich had crisp bread and so much yumminess! The soup of the day was steak and barley -- first they let you sample if it you want, genius! This sold me, it was delicious! Also came with a crisp little piece of bread!! Give me more of that!! My friend had the arugula and shrimp salad -- looked delicious. It's her favorite she said -- she has been before several times! We found it really difficult to find any local restaurants that were reasonably COVID safe. Glad to see that major retailers and chains are still acting rationally. I had the cilantro lime salad with salmon and it was packed with a good amount of toppings and a standard portion of salmon. I believe they use atlantic sockeye salmon. The chicken panini was just okay, but nothing to complain about. The "side" salad that was included was really good and should have just been called a small main salad! By far the best restaurant I have ever been to. It's absolutely incredible. The food is fresh and has an inspiring flavor. The service is great as well! You order food at the counter and it comes out in less than 15 minutes. The ambiance is chill and moody well it is also nice and bright. I love this Nordstrom cafe! This particular location in Fashion Square Mall, is the absolute best! Their customer service, quality of food and atmosphere, hits all 5 stars for me! The salads are made fresh in front of you, and are AWESOME! The tomato soup is definitely their signature item! I've been eating it for years and years...it's constantly perfect! Don't forget to get that cheddar herb biscuit, it goes amazingly well together! This cafe is set up like an upscale cafeteria, you take a tray, and walk through the food stations ordering as you go. You pay, and find a seat, there are waitress/waiters willing to get you anything you may need or want. It's so much better than the mall food court! I can honestly say that there's nothing better than shopping and having a small bite to eat at the Nordstrom Cafe/Bistro. It's pretty much tradition that Stine H. and I would grab cups of soup and buttered noodles to share whenever strolling through Nordy's so this place brings back many nostalgic memories. I love the Tomato Bisque and the French Onion soups and the little toast served on the side is crisp and perfect for dunking. This time around I wanted something a little heavier, the Spicy Shrimp Angel Hair Pasta is perfect and you can even half the serving to share. The pasta was perfectly cooked, topped with tangy marinara and big pieces of shrimp! The food is way better than anything you could get in the food court- for obvious reasons. It's just simply delicious. The atmosphere is pretty quiet, the view and natural light makes it comfortable for eating and the service here is great. From our cashier to our server, they do their best to make your time spent in the cafe as pleasant as possible. I always tip and the little mint chocolates that come with the bill is always a great touch. read more

Who knew at the Fashion Square is a very good cafeteria? It's nice that you can see a sample of each platter so you know what to expect.They do pizzas , soups , salads , Sandwiches , pasta and entrees and the most expensive meal is $13.50 for grilled skirt steak . They say on their menu that they use cage free eggs, organic local (when in season) sustainable foods in season produce . I had their Nicoise Style Salmon Salad . ($12.25) It was delicious. The seasonings were just right , the salmon was cooked nice everything was good. It was great that the salmon and potatoes were warm . My husband had the Cilantro Lime Chicken salad . He said it was very good but seemed a little light for him so I gave him most of my potatoes , eggs and some salmon . The only down sides of cafeteria dining were if you are with packages it's hard to hold a tray and if your meal is all cold they hand you your platter and the hot items are ran out to you so you might not get your meals together. read more

There seem to be reviews here for both the Espresso Bar and the Marketplace Cafe. Mine is for the Marketplace Cafe. I had a late lunch here and found a very light crowd at this cafeteria style restaurant. The staff was friendly and attentive and the dining area clean and comfortable. While the food was good and I have no major complaints, I couldn't bring myself to give it the four stars so many other had considering I didn't feel any "wow" factor. For my entree I had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken. The chicken was good, perhaps even a bit too crunchy for my particular taste. My only concern is that I never tasted a hint of Parmesan cheese. The salad also consisted of mixed greens, diced tomatoes, bacon, chopped egg, avocado slices, corn and a creamy dressing that brought it all together. For me, the wrong dressing can ruin a salad, but I was very happy with this one. In fact, I believe you can even buy bottles of their dressing at the checkout area. Although I'm not a big fan of almond flavor, I do like raspberry and ordered the Raspberry Almond Bar for dessert. The portion was ample, though I wished the crust were more flaky than dense, that the center were moister and that there were a greater proportion of raspberry (jam???) to top it off. Not a bad dessert, just no "wow" factor I hoped for. I will say this place is a great alternative to the mall food court. While I'm sure kids are welcome, this is a great place to escape the noise of the food court. read more

This place is tucked in the Nordstrom's but it is a little gem. Everything at looks good and smells good in there! I did get the chicken pasta dish and it was delicious I ate every single bite of it. I do have a habit to try each Nordstrom cafe at every place! The Scottsdale Nordstrom cafe is the coolest one I have had so far! All of the food has a display section, and we can order that according to that! I got attracted at the beginning with chicken parmigiana! And I ordered that right away.
