    Happy hour old fashioneds

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Nice place for drinks and snacks. The hubby and I stopped in for some martinis, per a friend's recommendation. It was a midweek afternoon so not busy at all, and we grabbed two spots at the bar. It was a gorgeous open space, and I could imagine why it was so popular. We ordered the aforementioned martinis, which were quite good, and we also happened to be in time for happy hour, which we took advantage of. We ordered a couple of happy hour old fashioneds and also an order of their eggplant toast, which was scrumptious. We may come back at some point for a proper meal, but a bite and drink at the bar was perfectly nice.

When the weather is warm and you can sit tucked away in the corner, this is the spot. We ordered their salad with peaches, a corn and squash blossom pizza, finished sharing cheesecake. Their lemonana can be made with or without alcohol. Hit the spot. Service is consistent and friendly, with portions perfected and timing felt key. A must try spot for a special occasion.

I loved Marlena for dinner so much that I had to come back for brunch. I'm actually not a fan of brunch or breakfast foods in general, but I had a feeling that Marlena could change that. I got the biscuits and gravy, lemon ricotta pancakes, and breakfast pizza. The biscuits and gravy were SO GOOD, I just wish they gave me more! I might've been in a food coma all day though. The biscuits are very buttery, and the gravy is very thick, so it's a decadent and heavy breakfast for sure. The lemon ricotta pancakes were light, fluffy, and bright. I enjoyed them a lot compared to a classic pancake. The breakfast pizza was awesome. Charred pizza crust, topped with hollandaise, good bacon, and few leafy greens to make you feel better about yourself. I enjoyed everything with a fresh orange juice mimosa and thoroughly enjoyed my brunch by the bay.

Marlena might be one of the best spots you may have never heard of, it's such a sleeper! I've been spending more time around the Long Beach area recently and this spot as the best ranch I've ever tried (made in house with a few special ingredients). The pizzas here are phenomenal as well, and the service is very fast in front friendly. The ambiance is nice, and they have parking! (Not a huge lot though.) I highly recommend the red sauce pizzas, that's definitely where it's at. It might have one of the best margarita pizzas in LA! Also, our waitress was so funny and charming, bonus points on the service there, haha. Food: 4.5/5 Drinks: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 4.5/5

I loved the atmosphere of this place. Modern looking, clean. The service was great, our server checked on us several times. The pizza was delicious! The affogato was amazing! I'll be back!

It's my birthday week and husband took me to Marlena for the first time. We got lucky on this weekday and was able to make last minute reservations. To begin, we were seated in a covered patio (with heater overhead for cooler evenings). I appreciate a menu that is not super overwhelming. We are pretty particular on what we order and everything on the menu was definitely to our liking. We started the evening with: Marlena Martini (gin) - dry vermouth, thyme liqueur, orange bitters, salt. Onion garnish. Maid in Spain - Gin, cucumber, manzanilla, celery bitters, saline, lemon, soda. Mint sprig garnish. For our meal: Salad to start - chicories and apples, goat cheese, spiced walnuts, cippolini onion vinaigrette. Loved every bite Entree - the 16 oz Pachamama pork chop, brown butter, apple, sage, potato pave. High quality, pasture-raised heritage. Happy pigs :) Brussels sprouts - tahini cashew yogurt, pomegranate molasses, mint, dill, baharat. Lovely. Bread - Bianco. Rosemary, black pepper, evoo. Perfect for scarpetta. Husband and I love to sweep all the sauces with some good bread. And this, it was. Warm, and puffy with a little slight crunch. Paired with Ultraviolet '22 Cabernet Sauvignon. For dessert: Basque cheesecake Fred Gerbis Amaro - digestif. Love the botanicals. Double espresso. Lovely evening, lovely food. Will visit again soon. Buen provecho!

Such a cool neighborhood bar and restaurant in Naples, I feel like it's a hidden gem being out of sight from the road. It's a perfect date spot with immaculate vibes and a cool modern mediterranean aesthetic feel. I made a reservation here for a date night and a seperate Valentines brunch. First time I came here, we tried their Bolognese spaghetti and one of their caesar salad. The spaghetti was salty and the caesar was tasty, I should've added a protein on this. Overall a pretty good experience but not enough that we tried to get the full experience. For Brunch, Marlena goes absolutely crazy! We got their Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, the blueberry compete was a good touch. The Rosti was amazing, the cilantro lebni sauce was so unique and enjoyed how it sat on a hashbrown. I would get this again forsure. Then to finish it off, I got the breakfast sandwich which was so flavorful, the laminated biscuit was soft and the bacon was like that thickly cut one that melts in your mouth. All of their breakfast items were great and the whole menu sounded delicious. When we asked our waiter what he recommends, he just read off the whole menu haha. We would pass on coming for dinner again though.

Tucked just off of 2nd Street in Naples, Marlena feels like an oasis with awesome food to match. I love the open-air patio seating, perfect for a late summer evening. I came for my first time on my birthday and it felt perfect! Chicories & Apple Salad [ ] a great balance of bitter and sweet, [ ] the goat cheese and dressing acts as a nice neutral buffer [ ] Very fresh Roasted Baby Yams [ ] Favorite dish, though I believe it's seasonal! [ ] Perfect for plant-forward eaters, the smokey seared skin of the yam gives it a hearty meat-like flavor [ ] Pistachio Pesto adds texture and zest I also tried a white fish as an entree (no longer on menu). The preparation was amazing with crispy skin, though the flavor profile wasn't my favorite (I should have went with my server's recommendation).

Ever since my friend, Lynn told me about this place I've been craving it! I'm always on the hunt for good pizza places in Long Beach (let's get real, California doesn't usually shine in the pizza category) This place is an absolute pizza gem I came here on a Friday with Jay S. I made a reservation which was really easy and I highly recommend it, the place was packed. They also have private parking and street parking The whole atmosphere is great. I love the modern layout and it had great lighting. The place was extremely clean as well. We got seated immediately and everyone was extremely nice especially Elyse (who was our main waitress) and Joaquin who kept coming around bringing us our food and checking on us. 5 stars for them To be honest, I really was hoping they had more pasta options. But, their pizza options made up for it. I started off with ordering a cocktail recommended by Elyse -LIMONANA Egyptian-style creamy limeade and mint. You then get to pick which alcohol you want. I went with vodka, obviously. This was extremely dangerous! I could have had 10 of these. It was so refreshing. I haven't had a good cocktail like this in a while. They also recommend it as a mocktail. It tasted just like a Brazilian lemonade 10/10 And the Las Manzas- Tequila, manzanilla, lemon juice, apple syrup, soda and cinnamon Then it was pizza time! -Mozzarella, bianco tomato, basil, olive oil (this was pretty much a Margherita pizza) the pizza sauce on this was outstanding. It was so incredibly fresh, the seasoning and everything about it was literal perfection. Don't get me started on the crust! Then - Blue oyster mushrooms, porcini crean fontina, olives, marjoram Also, had to get ranch to dip the crust in. The ranch is homemade and you could tell it was homemade with dill but it also had this amazing unique warmth to it. Our waitress, Elyse told us it was a Moroccan blend of spices and it also had cinnamon in it (trust me, it works) perfect 10/10 And for dessert! I'm embarrassed to admit this was my first time trying -Basque cheesecake. Which, was delicious. Since it was my first time trying it, I can't say if it was the best or not. this is a great date night or out with your girlfriends type of spot I really want to try some of their other pizzas. They had so many amazing ones -They also have a happy hour -Brunch -Again, they take reservations and I highly recommend them on the weekend. The only time they could fit us in on a Friday was at 8:45 -they have Gluten free options for the pizzas -service was great! Elyse was amazing and helpful. I have heard service can be hit or miss. -bonus points for private parking lot -bathrooms were clean -really nice layout -this place can also be dressed up or dressed down -I will absolutely be returning

First time trying out their Happy Hour! We have been to many dinners and Brunches at Marlena and always impressed at the food, service, and cocktail program! Their Happy Hour includes some very creative cocktails and appetizers! Service was excellent! Matt was our server and bartender! He suggested great drinks and appetizers! When we finished up dinner was just starting up. We weren't hungry but wished we were to order off the main menu too! Only the Happy Hour Menu is available but if you are their into.the dinner start, the full menu is avaliable. I will say the Happy Hour Menu has plenty on it for options to fill you up and also enjoy a variety of bites! We ordered several appetizers served on Crostini. Marinated Olives and meatballs. We all had lunch just hours before. Next time definitely going hungry as I would love to try out their cheese & charcuterie board! For cocktails we tried the Varquero (interesting and tasting spin on a Margarita!): Don't Telli (smooth spin on an Espresso Martini): and a Bournon Old Fashion. All were so good and very smooth!

5 stars for decor, ambiance and service but the food was just okay. We went for Happy Hour but we will be back for dinner. The interior is beautiful with lots of outdoor seating, greenery and pet friendly. The Happy Hour menu is very limited.

3.5 stars for me. I've dined at Marlena a couple of times now and have mixed feelings. Most of the drinks and dishes were outstanding. Service was a bit inconsistent. During my last visit, our server seemed like she didn't want to be there. We asked for a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and she tried to up charge us with a $200 bottle of Chardonnay. We went with a $50 bottle that was more light and crisp, like a Sauv Blanc that we wanted. From that moment, she seemed to give us a judgmental attitude and bad vibes whenever she came back to our table. The Grilled Spanish Octopus was one of the best I've had. The octopus was incredibly tender and the romesco sauce was rich and creamy. The Roasted Baby Yams with pistachio pesto, fennel and maldon was bursting with flavors and textures. Their pizzas are Neapolitan style with soft, thin crusts and fresh toppings. I loved the combination of the Prosciutto, piquillo puree, peperonata, stracchino, hot honey, and arugula. The pistachio-crusted Australian rack of lamb was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection with spiced labneh and couscous. The Burnt Basque Cheesecake was okay. Their cocktails are creatively crafted, not too sweet and currently priced at $17. My favorites are the Marlena Martini with vodka, dry vermouth, thyme liqueur, orange bitters, salt and the Vaquero with tequila, mezcal, lime, orgeat, absinthe and mint. Both are strong, but balanced. While I really liked the dishes, drinks and the ambience, which is mostly a romantic patio setting with plenty of heat lamps, our miserable server left a bad taste in our mouths.

I enjoyed brunch in an open, airy space where you could really feel the ocean breeze. The crispy cauliflower was perfectly seasoned with cumin, the chopped salad was packed with radicchio, and the prosciutto pizza was delicious--though I wish it had come with a bit more prosciutto. We finished with a rich Basque cheesecake and a soft-serve ice cream served with olive oil and sea salt. It was a wonderful meal in a beautiful setting.

It wasn't even close to full. They're clearly holding people outside on purpose to create fake hype, which is honestly pretty messed up. You're telling me dozens of people are stuck waiting forever while there's plenty of room inside? It's giving manufactured crowd and poor management. To make it worse, they stopped serving drinks and turned the lights on at 1:15 AM, way earlier than literally any normal bar. So after wasting hours in line, you barely even get time inside. And it somehow gets worse -- at 1:35 AM they were literally kicking people out of the restroom. We weren't even allowed to finish or wash our hands before being rushed out. That's not just rude, it's straight up unhygienic and disrespectful. Overall, completely overhyped, disorganized, and not worth the wait at all. Don't fall for the line -- it's fake.

It's nice to see a place that is filled with dancers of all skill levels just having fun and learning to dance. The venue itself is beautiful. They have a large open air dance floor that overlooks the marina as well as a smaller dance area inside near the pool tables. The decore is classy and elegant overall. On salsa nights they have drink specials in addition to the regular drink menu. Lastly I once lost my key fob there and someone returned it to their lost and found. I'm forever grateful to whomever returned it and the staff at the front door / lost and found. Overall it's an awesome place to come out and hang out and dance.

Here you can actually taste the ingredients they describe and somehow work really well together. And it's not just one or two drinks that feel unique and interesting it's basically their whole menu. Most recent time we went was when they had a guest bartender (Polo Chang). Some of the best cocktails I've had recently. I'm a huge fan of tea in cocktail his menu was amazing. We got way more drinks than we usually do that night because each one was better than the last. Only thing tho I really wish they kept their old menu. The drawings were beautiful and it had so much character while very easily communicating how each drink will look and taste. It went so well with the overall vibe of the place. But I may just be nitpicking because I have hard time reading the new dark menu in the dim light lolol I honestly would come here wayyyy more often if it wasn't for the very limited parking. We sat at the bar, and I expected to receive service from the bartender, but he didn't acknowledge us for the entire night. Instead, our server took our order. After a while, she informed us that the crispy rice we ordered was sold out. She mentioned that the bartender was supposed to let us know, but he never did. What made the experience more uncomfortable was that the bartender seemed to be giving most of his attention to the Caucasian customers on the other side of the bar. We were the only Asian customers there, and unfortunately, this left us feeling like we were being treated differently because of our race. The good food and drinks helped compensate for the poor service, so we decided not to let it ruin our evening. However, things got even more disappointing at the end. After I paid, I noticed that I had been charged for the crispy rice even though we never received it. When our server tried to address the issue, the bartender appeared to ignore both her and us, so we eventually left. I hope management sees this review and reaches out to me to address the overcharge and the overall experience. Overall, although the food and drinks were good, the service and the way we were treated left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

So this is a review that's been a *long* time coming (I've just been chronically overwhelmed for an…read moreequally long time.) I haven't been here often, but I *was* here right around when they opened, wherein I determined that the food ranged from quality but a bit overpriced, to just overpriced, a feeling I would still hold, generally speaking. Great vibe, solid service, but maybe a little pretentiously priced (and/or it's just stupid expensive to run a restaurant in this area, granted.) And with *super* pretentiously-priced cocktails, for how relatively simple they mostly are (if I'm gonna spend $18+ plus tip on a drink, I expect Baby Gee-level cocktails.) They also had an impressive wall of craft beer on tap, but also a bit pricey, especially compared to places not on 2nd street, so there was never a particular *draw*. But then I never actually finished reviewing it, because I'm super behind. Anyway, then also not particularly recently, they launched a happy hour, which at the time, especially for this particular part of Long Beach, was pretty stupidly good, with $5 decent sized smashburgers (6 with cheese, 10 with cheese and also fries), as well as $5 craft beer, pretty much all of them, including the fancy, exciting stuff (exciting if you're a nerd like me, the barrel aged stuff, for instance). They also had one specific half hour at the time, which I'd like to immortalize as a super fun idea, where one specific cheap but craft beer was some stupid price, I think like a dollar, but since they had a whole wall of rotating craft beer, a *different* specific cheap craft beer any given day. That's not relevant at all to my current review, but it was fun. Anyway, I still didn't write a review like a year ago when I took advantage of that happy hour, though I did take advantage of it a solid couple of times. Skip forward again to just a few weeks ago, I happened to be attending an event in the general area again, an event that was going to involve more alcohol than food and for which having a happy-hour-timed dinner in the area was going to be useful, so I figured I'd check out whether the happy hour was still there, and it was. At least as of a few weeks ago, the happy hour (3-6 weekdays) was still a thing, and it had gone up a whopping 55 cents per item. Ends up being effectively ~$17 plus tip for a quality smashburger, quality fries and a craft beer, though they didn't have as *many* of the fancy (barrel-aged or equivalent) stuff as they had the first time, they did still have some, and it was still $5.55 for any beer on draft they had. So happy hour wise, that's a pretty good price for this part of the country, I'd say. Obviously only since the burgers and fries *are* also absolutely quality burgers and fries. Not quite as wonderful as my gold standard smashburger at The Stache, perhaps, but still a great smashburger. My opinion on spending almost 20 bucks for what is effectively still just an old fashioned, hasn't changed, though. :p

I didn't know that the price for the DineLa menu ($55pp / dinner) included all the tapas so that definitely exceeded my expectations. I ordered The Tourist drink with vodka instead and it was perfect. All the tapas are delicious, while eating I asked the bartender (Toni) and the manager if I could swap out the tuna taco for another wagyu empanada and they did (I don't eat raw fish); which made me really happy and appreciated knowing that the staff are doing their best to accommodate the guest!! I ended up getting the paella mixta, my first time ever having paella and I really enjoyed it, chicken was a bit on the drier side but didn't bother me too much. The dessert was fantastic. Overall, this place was definitely a highlight during my DineLa week. I am excited to come back with friends and looking forward to trying new items! Parking is not validated in the structure but is free across the street.

That said, I regrettably must give my personal experience here a 1 star. When we were seated our Waiter appeared disengaged and in a hurry to get us ordering. He was incredibly unfriendly as well. At first, I thought it was my imagination my my party also noticed and commented on his attitude. We placed our order for drinks and he didn't even crack a smile. The drinks came back, mine was ok but one of the drinks in the part wasn't and we asked the waiter if could change it. He was so rude and made us feel so uncomfortable. The replacement cocktail was much better. Next, the meal: while we asked for recommendations becuase it was our first time the waiter failed to adequately describe the various dishes we inquired about. We took our chances and ordered the Patatas bravas, which were the highlight of the meal. next, we had the paella and it was not good. the rice was hard (Undercooked) and felt more burnt then anything else. The meat was over cooked...specifically the roasted pork. However, the pork belly was cooked correctly. we ordered the shrimp, which was not deveined and really had little to no flavor (Very surprising.) We were never checked on by our wait during our meal. Our water glasses were never refilled until just before the check and we were never asked if we wanted a second drink. There were a few more small inconveniences as well but I won't mention them...it just added to the overall disappointment. all in all, the meal was lackluster. I really wanted to like the food...I honestly tried hard to overlook certain things about the evening but in the end, it didn't feel like we were in Spain or eating real Spanish tapas & Pallela. Instead it felt like an American interpretation of Spanish food.

In the summer when I'm in Seal for two months I go every Sunday for brunch. It is fabulous. I was looking forward to my last Sunday about a month ago, the day before I was headed back home. I arrived at my usual time about 15 minutes before brunch is scheduled and advertised to end. The bartender, who is not my usual server, informed me that I could not order brunch. When I politely inquired as to why, since the time had not expired for brunch, she condescendingly told me that since I don't work at a restaurant, I wouldn't know that the kitchen shuts down before the actual time. I noticed that the owner didn't happen to be there that Sunday as he usually is. We left.
