In the heart of Montrose area, this beautiful restaurant has an outstanding Italian cuisine. If you come, make sure you make a reservation, they have a Valet that if you come to this restaurant is free. These beautiful western has outdoor seating, bar area, and main dining room, beautifully decorated, elegant, and classy, perfect for those special occasions. We came to celebrate my friend's birthday, and we got wonderful service, our server was attentive and gave us beautiful recommendations for the food. Food 10 out of 10, server service 9 out of 10, Drinks 10 out of 10, host 5 out of 10. Two things I didn't like about this place, they are not allowed you to bring balloons for a birthday celebration, and your party cannot be seated unless half of the party is already here. And they charge you to cut the cake, if you bring your own cake they're gonna charge you about four dollar cake slices I think it's a little too much Other than that, we had a great time
PARKING: It's cheaper to use valet than to park in the garage. If you use the public parking garage, you are charged the duration of your stay. If you valet, it's complimentary (just tip). Also, if you have a large vehicle, it's harder to find a spot in the public garage because the spaces are tiny. Service is great. Everyone is friendly from start to finish. On the last two occasions during a holiday (i.e., Mother's Day) someone came around with complimentary cookies or bread/cheese. Atmosphere is pleasant. We went during an occasion, such as Mother's Day, and they had live piano music in the back which was nice. Plenty of windows for natural sunlight where we sat. The menu is interesting the first time but unfortunately felt dull the second time around. It'll be great to see more seasonal items new things on the menu. Overall though, the food is good - I recommend trying.
Great happy hour location any day, they only seat in the covered patio or bar area so it is limited. The service and dining experience was great, informative and friendly server. The food came out fairly fast, we did however have an issue with the lamb chops, they were overly cooked and we requested for medium. The server gladly had our dish replaced, and it was much better. Very tender and juicy! The other happy hour items were as to be expected, just sub par. The highlight was the meat balls and the beet carpaccio, they were delicious and tasty. Definitely a unique dish!
***Beets Capaccio A very Innovative way to eat a salad. Underneath the delicate layer of beets is actually a green salad mixed tossed with chunks of golden beets! The dressing was of a light vinaigrette. The toasted walnuts added a nice crunch and much appreciated rich texture to the salad. *** Tuscan Fried Chicken Kind of a let down, disappointment. The newspaper decorative element was interesting but the chicken itself felt very underwhelming. Too thick of batter. Serving size was not favorable. ***Lamb chop Initially the lamb was well done. I had to send it back for it to be cooked to medium ring. Flavor-wise was excellent. Although I would not order a chop of this size again. This is mainly just for taste testing. ***Polpette Classic two meatballs with a slice of bread. Nothing remarkable at all. ***Veal Bolognese Honestly couldn't tell the difference if this was ground beef had the menu not set otherwise. But there was very little bits of meat mixed with the pasta. ***White Fish Rillettes Very much reminded me of eating canned tuna with toasted lays. The only thing that elevated this dish was the caviar and even then, it wasn't that amazing. Flavor was kind of lackluster, felt like it came from a can. ***Raw Oysters This was arguably my favorite item off the menu for this instance. That was yours tasted very fresh and the cocktail sauce appears to be made in house and has a nice citrus undertone that pairs really well with the raw oysters. Overall I probably won't return unless they're menu changes. I think the vibe was elevated in the plating was also elevated. But the food just did not seem to bring home the same sentiment. Service and staff was really nice. Our server quickly rectified the situation with the lamb chops being overly cooked.
As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed and I could tell the service would be top tier. I went here to try their Houston restaurant week and it did not disappoint. The steak was juicy and had a rich buttery flavor with a perfect balance of salt. The atmosphere was nice. It's a bit upscale and more elevated than a casual place. There was no dress code. I did park in the garage which costed about $5. Valet around there is $10.
The portions are tiny and there are homeless people everywhere in the area. Expect to spend about 60-70 for a full meal. They have small portions of food or regular portions of food for sale on the menu. They give you one small roll and no butter. The food advertised is a lot cheaper than what you get.
Been here a couple times and finally writing a review. Will continue to come back! Great service, great food my favorite pasta is the Rigatoni à la vodka. Marmo has one of the best happy hour menu's!! Happy hour 3-6pm Single serving pastas starting at $5! Great environment with indoor and big outdoor seating available, very classy and clean. What I ordered: Blue crab bruschetta Tuscan fried chicken Veal Bolognese Rigatoni à la Vodka Cacio e Pepe (only offered on happy hour) Chicken Parmesan Dirty martini Wine
I made a reservation at Marmo for a party of seven at 8:45 PM, but we weren't seated until 8:59 PM. Not a big deal on its own, but the experience went downhill from there. We ordered everything at once, and our server mentioned bread would come with a mascarpone spread. The bread arrived, but the spread never did. The wait for food was very long--by 9:37 PM, we still hadn't received appetizers. When the food finally came, everything (apps and entrées) arrived at the same time. There were also several order issues. My friend ordered a piccolo squid ink pasta but was given a larger (and more expensive) grande. I ordered my steak medium, but it came out rare. When I asked, the server initially insisted I ordered medium rare in a rude tone, then later admitted I was right and took it back. It came back overcooked and burnt--unacceptable for an $88 steak. The rest of the food didn't make up for it. My pasta was overcooked and falling apart, and the sides were room temperature and overly salty. To top it off, there was a "facilities fee" added to the bill that was never disclosed anywhere, which felt misleading. The ambiance was nice, but it was so loud. Overall, between the long wait, poor service, incorrect orders, and disappointing food, the experience was not worth it. I wouldn't return.
Ladies Night Out at Marmo was definitely one for the books! The vibes were immaculate--drinks flowing, laughter nonstop, and just an overall good time with the girls. What we tried: * Caesar salad - fresh, light, and a solid starter * Bolognese - rich, hearty, and comforting * Chicken parmigiana - cheesy, saucy, classic done right * Crawfish risotto - not quite the hit we expected, a little underwhelming * Gulf red snapper - THE STAR OF THE SHOW! Let's talk about that snapper...baby, it was divine! Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and sitting in that creamy sauce like it knew it was the moment. Easily the standout dish of the night. Overall, Marmo delivered on flavor, ambiance, and experience. Even with the risotto missing the mark a bit, everything else more than made up for it. Final: Great food, great energy, and a perfect spot for a girls' night or date night. I'll definitely be back!
Came here the other day for HRW which they had good options. It was my second time here but both times the pasta has been incredible. From the HRW menu we had the hamachi, skirt steak, and tiramisu. The hamachi (crudo) tasted very fresh and the garnishes they add goes very well with it, just kinda crazy how that appetizer is already $20 for regular pricing. The skirt steak turned out much better than I expected. For medium rare it was still so tender, juicy, and the roasted garlic elevated the flavor, I'd highly recommend it. Overall very well seasoned. Side note it's 8oz which on the HRW menu is the same as the regular menu. We added on the Squid Ink Campanelle which I've heard is really good and a must-try. It's very rich in flavor and the squid ink doesn't taste earthy or anything. If I remember correctly our server said it was mostly for color. Needless to say I'd highly recommend this as well, probably one of the more unique pasta dishes I've had. Service was great, they take your used plates promptly and give you fresh clean ones. Our server was friendly and was able to explain how the HRW menu worked so we appreciated that. Though the menu is a little pricey, I'd still come back to try their other dishes in the future!

Wow wow wow. This is a must try restaurant in Houston. Here are some details about the experience. The boundaries of Italian definitely are expanded by this spot! Our server Fernando was kind and informative about the menu items; including being attentive to our small party Atmosphere: Enjoyed a beautiful early spring dinner on the patio. Blending some people watching with great weather. Food: Delicious, creative and a party for the taste buds. Nice pre-course bread and cheese. Some seafood items, some traditional items and a few twists on before seen dishes (specifically regarding the apps) Service was good, but I was just a little thrown off by the mandatory 20% gratuity for our party of five. (Slight drop in the score) Good experience and all things considered, I would go again.
The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous -- such a vibe, period. The ambiance alone makes it worth visiting. Unfortunately, the noise level was a bit too much. In hindsight, we probably should have sat outside so we could actually have a conversation without yelling. That part was disappointing. It also took a little while for our waiter to come to the table, which wasn't ideal. I ordered the quail tortellini, and while it was very tasty, the portion was ridiculously small for the price. The menu overall was good, though. The appetizers were good, and dessert did not disappoint either. Overall, I think they could improve the menu and portion sizes for certain dishes. That said, the ambiance is definitely the highlight for me. I would probably go back for a couple of drinks and an appetizer just to enjoy the vibe again.

I went for dinner on a Saturday night and had an exceptional experience. Complimentary valet parking was provided, and the host seated us immediately upon our arrival for our reservation. The restaurant was busy, yet never felt crowded due to the restaurant's organization and efficiency. People were celebrating birthdays and graduations, adding to the fun vibrancy of the restaurant. I ordered the squid ink campanelle, 8 oz flat iron steak, and smashed potatoes. To my surprise, the steak and smashed potatoes were MY FAVORITE. Totally exceeded my expectations. The Texas wagyu was perfectly cooked with a hint of salt, rosemary, and garlic. Simple, yet perfect. The smashed potatoes were truffled, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. I may or may not have ate the entire thing by myself . The pasta had a slightly sweet taste to it, which I was not the biggest fan of. However the blue crab was fresh, and I loved the pairing with the basil and breadcrumbs. read more

Nestled at the front of the Montrose Collective, I visited Marmo on a Wednesday evening for Happy Hour (daily 3-6pm) and were seated at the bar, as the happy hour menu is only available at the bar, lounge, and patio. Would've loved to be seated in the main dining area, as the interior of this place is gorgeous! I ordered the Polpette (classic meatballs, tomato sauce, whipped ricotta) and Rigatoni alla vodka (tomato cream sauce, parmigiano reggiano) - a full meal for only $5 each! While I loved the interior and happy hour deals Marmo offers, the food was too salty and overall unimpressive. I would be amenable to coming back and giving their $8 happy hour cocktails and other happy hour foods a chance and hope to be seated at the lounge or patio this time! read more
Hrw dinner menu. We tried all of the appetizers that were on the HRW menu. The fried chicken was basic but well done 4/5. The burrata with the plums was delicious 5/5. The meatballs were fine. 3/5. The tuna cannoli was delicious...it is actually pretty spicy but paired perfectly with the frisse 5/5. Lamb neck entree was pretty salty. One of our guests went theirs back and one powered through. The flavors itself were nice but the salt needs to be adjusted. 3/5. The red fish was delicious. I liked the char on the fish but some of the more charred parts tasted bitter. 4/5. Chicken parm was well done and the spaghetti was al dente. 5/5 Replacement steak was good. 5/5. The desserts were good. The tiramisu was a favorite. I loved the panna cotta. The other dessert was good too. 4.5/5. Service was nice. They replaced one of the too salty dishes. Food service was slow though. Would go back to try other dishes. I like that the piano player wasn't too loud. His playing was wonderful and so was his singing and so it was a nice foil to dinner. Could hear the music well but still converse with people. read more
Finally came back for a second visit and Marmo was just as good as I remembered! The atmosphere in the restaurant is so nice, with live piano music and the friendliest staff around. We were a large party and our servers took such great care of us, always checking in to make sure the meal was going perfectly. I said it in my last review and I'll say it again, any restaurant with complimentary bread and cheese is a star in my book haha My roommate and I went halfsies on a couple of appetizers and three of the half orders of pasta. Everything was amaaaaazing, we left stuffed and with a box of leftovers in hand! I genuinely can't pick a favorite because everything tasted so incredible, so I will just recommend every dish we got: polpette - meatballs, Tuscan fried chicken, bolognese, prosciutto tortellini, and the squid ink campanelle. I don't consider myself a huge seafood person but holy cow the blue crab on that campanelle was delicious. Also, I learned that they will validate/stamp your valet ticket! I decided to stop in today to see how I felt about the happy hour before trying the restaurant month menu. Let's talk location. This plaza is located in an area there is limited street parking. When I arrived I was greeted and seated immediately. I had a very sweet server name Ace who was attentive and offered menu item suggestions. The ambiance was so cute inside and outside. Now the reason they received three stars was because of the food. So I ordered the Tuscan Fried chicken which was as bland and had no flavor. I also ordered the happy hour spaghetti and the rigatoni. The portions are small enough to feed a toddler. My friend ordered some shrimp and it was only two shrimp on the place. All of the food was flavorless which made me to decide not to try the restaurant month menu. Overall great location, great service, and worth popping in for a drink. I was just disappointed because I was hoping for more to celebrate my birthday. read more

Absolutely loved Marmo! After hearing rave reviews about their pasta, we knew we had to come check this place out. The interior is nicely decorated, a little bit modern and a little bit rustic with a little bit of a chic style. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive. My husband and I brought the two kids here for Mother's Day with a reservation beforehand. We ended up ordering way more than we could stomach, but we always somehow use the kids as an excuse to order more (even though only one eats right now and he usually eats enough food to fit inside my fist). For starters, we ordered the calamari, meatballs and carrot salad. The calamari was sautéed, not fried, in a nice tomato based sauce with couscous and capers. I personally could have done without the capers, but the squid was cooked perfectly, leaving a nice chewy bite. The softness of the couscous paired well and the flavors blended nicely. The meatballs were delicious. Each serving comes with 3 giant balls and a small slide of toast with cheese. The meatballs were extremely flavorful and the tomato sauce with cheese were the perfect compliments. Highly recommend this appetizer to share. The carrot salad was refreshing and nothing like I've really tasted. The carrots were both earthy (without tasting like dirt) and sweet at the same time. The cheese paired with it added a nice balance. I would get this again. For entrees, we did half orders of the Squid Ink Campanelle, the Bolognese and the Ricotta Gnocchi. All 3 were delectable but my favorite was the gnocchi. The white sauce on the gnocchi was rich, the gnocchi itself was dense and cheesy, and the rabbit was delightfully flavorful, not gamey at all. The campanelle was amazing as well. Like the gnocchi, the campanelle gave very generous portions of crab meat. This was my husband's favorite. Our toddler really enjoyed his bolognese and I snuck a few bites too - it was good but the least impressive out of the 3. Overall, we really enjoyed the food, service and ambiance here. I would highly recommend it and then top off with dessert at Van Leeuwen or La La Land next door! I will definitely be back to try the risotto next time. read more
I came here with my SO for happy hour, and it was a very nice atmosphere. There is valet parking available, but there is also plenty of street parking. The location is super walkable, and there are many other restaurants with an ice cream place only a couple yards away. The happy hour menu changes every couple of months or so. My partner and I got their $2 oysters, Rigatoni alla Vodka, Tuscan fried chicken, and white fish rillettes. All of the food is well seasoned, and the white fish rillettes are surprisingly my favorite dish. There was also live music, but sadly, the acoustics made the piano too loud, and I could not hear the performer despite sitting next to him. The service was excellent of course. I definitely would come here again for their happy hour. read more

Located in montrose. Has valet, garage and street parking. The atmosphere was nice but I was disappointed about the host service. Our waiter was nice and accommodating. There was no indication this place was not really baby friendly. We went for restaurant week and it was indicated in the reservation there will be a child with a stroller. When being escorted to the table we were asked to fold up the stroller which we didn't have a problem with. When asked if they had somewhere to store the stroller since it was asked of us collapse it we were told no so we made due with our surroundings. They also had their craft of waters place behind our booth where the waiters kept coming and basically hovered over our table everytime water was needed. The food for the price wasn't up to par or would match the cost. The dessert was the best part. read more

Went here for our anniversary. It was pretty packed, but we had a reservation. Sitting outside was nice at first, but it was too sunny with no shade. We asked to move inside and the staff was very accommodating. Our waiter was wonderful, he brought us drinks and a dessert for our special day. Went for happy hour here and the quality of the food was comparable to the price! Oysters were fresh and pasta was perfectly al dente. Portions are small for the price I will say. We had made reservations here for my best friends surprise dinner and they did not disappoint! The staff were wonderful and super helpful with everything. I got the bolognese and it was pretty good! We also gave the flan a try, although I wasn't a big fan with the orange pieces on top, I loved everything else about it! The atmosphere was super elegant, dim lit, and classy. Excellent prix fixe lunch menu and experience at Marmo. Two courses for $30 or three (add dessert) for $35. I had the bolognese and oysters, both were delectable and the lunch portion of the bolognese was appropriate and filling. JP was a wonderful and attentive server and the lunchtime atmosphere is nice, on this particular day it was full of small groups of business people also having lunch. Still the place was bustling but not too loud. Parking was easy, garage or valet. For the garage it was approximately $5 for 2 hours. The full menu appeared to be an even bigger treat! This restaurant is great! I ordered the rigatoni alla vodka, and it was delicious. It was hot and had the perfect amount of spice, cheese, and sauce. Although I got the smaller portion, it was still large enough for me to have leftovers. 9/10, and I would order it again. I also tried the caesar salad, and it was refreshing and light. The lemon zest on it was a great touch. It was a bit more acidic than I usually find caesar salad to be, but I enjoyed it. The ambiance of the menu is great. It's not super loud, but it is lively. The decor is fitting and clean. Service is great. The servers were very attentive to our table, and the food came out quickly. Prices are fair for the portion sizes. I would recommend doing the smaller portion sizes and potentially sharing dishes to try more things at once. 9.5/10 would recommend for a nice lunch or date night or outing with friends. I plan to go back to try more of the menu. read more

Marmo had a really nice ambiance as you can see from the interior picture. The staff was very friendly and they even had live piano playing! We started with the Tuscany fried chicken as an appetizer which came out quickly and had a nice crunch but lacked flavor. Then moved onto the bolognese and squid ink pasta which were super delicious! Our only complaint was that it took such a LONG time for our entrees to come out. Drinks were also pretty decent! Overall, we enjoyed the vibe but slightly underwhelmed with the chicken and the wait time for our pasta. read more

Wow, what a bust. I came here for a special occasion and felt cheated out of what was supposed to be a great meal. My bf and I literally laughed at how many things went wrong and that at least it'd be a funny memory in the future. Our server was friendly enough, but took 5 minutes telling us about the specials. I can appreciate the effort they put into their dishes, but I'd appreciate it being more concise too. The tables are way too cramped (at least the section I was seated in was). I was closer to the people sitting at the tables to my left and right than I was to my bf in front of me. It made dinner very uncomfortable, as I do not enjoy hearing every word to my left and right, nor do I like having strangers hearing every bit of my conversations. Oh, and the server of the table next to us constantly had her backside in my face while tending to the table. I had to move our drinks because she almost knocked them over coming in and out of the narrow space. The bathrooms are nice, but the toilet has a touch-sensitive non-button that needs to feel the heat coming off of your finger to activate. So you can't use a balled up piece of tissue paper to press it. You either have to use your bare finger or a single layer of tissue paper so it can still sense your finger. I personally would never touch a public toilet with my bare hands and found this non-button frustrating because I thought the toilet was just broken, so if you're like me, I hope this helped you lol SPREZZATURA: The Campari makes it dry and bitter. I'm really not a fan of bitterness so I would skip next time. It was actually really hard to finish lol and it was pretty strong. ANDIAMO: VERY strong. You have to like the taste of tequila. But it was still good. TUSCAN FRIED CHICKEN: It had good enough flavor, but I wouldn't get it again. Not really worth it to me. It just made me think of all of the chicken I've had that was so much better than this lol I liked the artichoke though, it had a bit of sourness to it. RICOTTA GNOCCHI: The gnocchi was really good and soft. You can really taste the ricotta cheese and the rabbit was tasty and tender. However, my bf and I didn't like the pomegranate seeds. We felt like it didn't fit in the dish...like at all. We ate around it. When we went though, the pomegranate seeds weren't listed in the ingredients on the menu. I think they were transitioning because it seems like the menus have it listed now. Regardless, they should not have used menus listing ingredients that were different than what was coming out of the kitchen. The table next to me complained about the same thing with another menu item coming out with an ingredient that wasn't listed on the menu that they also did not like. SQUID INK CAMPANELLE: Idk what I was expecting with this. I mean, it's good, but I expected great. And I just didn't feel like it was. It kinda just tasted like a basic pasta. I wouldn't have even been able to tell it was squid ink if I had my eyes closed. It was also very rich. Even the half was too much for me after having the chicken appetizer. On the plus side, the crab lumps were huge and VERY fresh. I almost feel like it was worth it just for those crab lumps lol read more

Marmo is easily one of the best all around restaurants in Houston. Service- The service is ALWAYS impeccable, the attention to detail from the entire staff is such a breath of fresh air. Pricing- Marmo is also one of the better priced upscale restaurants in the area. We were able to order a bottle of wine, appetizer, 3 entrees and dessert for under $200. Food- Everything I have tried has been great but OMG if you don't know what to order I beg you to try the truffle spinach gnocchi. I have actual dreams about it! This restaurant was beautiful and a great place to celebrate an occasion! They also had live music and fresh bread so can't ask for much more! The pastas we tried were very unique, flavorful, and hearty! I also really liked the meatballs for appetizer and the fresh bread to dip in the sauce! They have a complimentary chocolate cake for a birthday celebration and it was so good! No crumbs were left here and they also apparently have a great happy hour deal! read more
Marmo became one of my best dining service experiences I've had in Houston. I love Italian inspired dishes and Marmo really has it on lock. All of the dishes our waitress Val recommended were absolutely delicious. I keep dreaming of the calamari and the lobster fradiavolo just scrumptious. The sommelier has a fabulous palate and is able to find the best wine for anyone's taste. I experienced a Cabernet Franc that was just so balanced and I'm not a fan of Cabernets! Since it was my bday I was looking for a low key fine dining experience and I got just that. I'm looking forward to more quiet jazzy nights at Marmo soon. Service was subpar. The non clearing of plates and forgetting of a steak knife for the steak are just simple service that shouldn't be missed in a restaurant of this caliber. Service was also slow. The tenderloin was delicious and cooked perfectly. The bone marrow sauce was a fitting accompaniment. The mushroom side was great as well. The chicken parmigiana was just ok. The sauce was too acidic. Lemonade was way too sugary. Foie gras was also just ok, looked better than it tasted. read more

Food was good, I personally thought that my risotto was too salty. The Tuscan fried chicken is a good portion for sharing with a table. As well as the half portion of the risotto, I was able to share it with my mom. The chicken Parmesan was also pretty good Andy service was pretty fast. I really liked that someone would come by and served bread in a cute little basket. I just wish that they would have come back to refill our bread. We also got the Stella Rose, which was refreshing. The restaurant can be a little bit loud, especially during the time when we went, which was around 5 PM with the combination of the live music and just several other dinner parties, which can be a little bit overstimulating. One word...OUTSTANDING. From the service, to the quality ingredients, and expertly executed technique, just outstanding. We ordered family style so we can chill, chat, and share bites and memories. The scallops had a beautiful textbook sear (a textbook where many restaurants fail the final exam). They were perfectly moist and still translucent at the center, a sign they were treated with respect and not overcooked. The squid ink pasta was some of the best I've had. Not normally a fan because the way most places execute it, it feels gimmicky. Here, the ink contributes to the flavor profile, as does the Uni sauce. We were all trying to figure out what it was that gave it a little heat on the finish. The next big hit of the night was the aged ribeye accompanied by the bone marrow sauce. The ribeye was our second choice since they ran out of the skirt steak, but we were very happy with it. The aging gave it an awesome funkiness, and when cooked to a divine medium rare,...just wow. The only things keeping a star away were the steak tartare and the burrata salad. The tartare didn't come out as a steak tartare, but "some tartare" (imagine 1.5 teaspoons on each) on toasted bread. Now, it was good, but didn't look like prior pics, nor did the menu say anything about tartare on toast. It should have come out as a tartare, with the aged egg yolk on top. The burrata is another dish where it seems there is s nightly, and drastic, variation of what it is, what it includes, and how it's presented. On parking, I can confirm they do NOT validate for garage parking. And it's a disaster coming out. Took me longer to get out of the lot than to get home. Not holding that against Marmo though, not their fault. Would still enjoy many visits back, but may stay away from those two dishes until I see more consistency. read more

Went for the happy hour menu. Tried the vodka pasta and the than fried chicken. Pasta was a very small amount and tasted like a normal tomato sauce. Was excited to try the Tuscan fried chicken however was very underwhelming. Felt like the chicken wasn't cooked properly and there just wasn't much flavor other than a basic fried chicken. read more
Not the fault of the restaurant's, but the low light ambiance was overshadowed by a puking woman when I walked in. God bless her; hope she's okay. From there, our waiter, although cordial, made a lot of assumptions about my friend and I. Upon tasting wines, we were put in a position to share wine glasses....which is fine, I guess, but when you order the most expensive wine...call me crazy, but I think your own glass is in order. I'm not sure but I got the distinct impression that my waiter turned his nose up at my use of "dry" rather than tannins. My apologies, oh high and mighty. But I digress...on to the food: Per my friend: oysters are 10/10. Very fresh but ask for crostinis as they do not have crackers. Blue Crab Bruschetta is also fresh but otherwise flavorless profile. However, a little dash of salt helped those flavors pop...especially the chili. My friend and I had a "Gimli" dinner, so we ordered the squid ink Campanella, the ricotta gnocchi, and the rigatoni alla vodka. Definitely order the Squid Ink Campanella. The freshness of the crab and complexity of the pasta--to die for excellent. Everything else paled in comparison. The Ricotta Gnocchi was a little too gamey for me, but the rabbit was cooked well. Avoid the Rigatoni alla Vodka unless you love Chef Boyardee because this dish bore a striking resemblance. Would I come again...eh...how much are plane tickets to Italy?? read more
Food was solid, the red snapper was tasty and well balanced. Chicken marsala was pretty good too. The potatoes were amazing, best thing we ordered! I was really impressed with the desserts, particularly the panna cotta. The main thing making this place 3 stars was the dining *experience*. Without an exaggeration, this was probably the loudest restaurant i've ever eaten in. You could not hear what anyone at your table was saying, and had to yell very loudly to be heard, or just rely on lip reading. It also was such a loud roar that you left with a pounding headache. Unfortunately this constant roar kinda ruined the meal for us. Also it was extremely warm in here (their thermostat said 77°) and the waitstaff said the AC was like broke or having issues, so we were hot and sweating the entire time with no fans or air movement, eating our hot dishes. The food was really good. The squid ink with blue crab was so filling. The gnocchi was light with the pesto that made it really savory. The tiramisu was amazing !!!!! it was light and fluffy not too sweet everything you want. The server was really knowledgeable about the menu and helps us decide what we should get which everything was delish. The bread service was interesting, and surprising we had butter instead of OO dip. The menus were so huge I mean comically large I couldn't fit it back on the table. Sitting with an tv box in my lap while I eat dessert first was actually ridiculous. But outside of that the singer was earning her tips she sounded great and singing good selections. My boyfriend had previously raved about the lunch prix fixe here so we made a reservation on Good Friday for me to try it and boy did it not disappoint. The service here is excellent from the moment you walk through the door where you're greeted with smiling faces and such friendliness. Throughout our meal, our waiter was very attentive and would come check on us frequently, and dirty dishes and utensils were taken away almost immediately after being put to the side. The decor here is beautiful and there is so much natural light that floods through the dining area. The food is superb. The oysters were very fresh. The fried chicken was crisped to perfection, had just the right flakiness to it, and was seasoned well and paired very well with the garlic aoli. The bolognese was easily my favorite bolognese that I've ever had. The redfish came with the option of either coming whole or having the tail and head removed which I think is a considerate detail as that can sometimes deter people from the dish. The fish itself was did not taste fishy at all, was very tender, and fell right off the bones, especially the meat near the cheek and on the top of the head. There did seem to be a good amount of smaller bones that my boyfriend had to pick out with each bite throughout the meal but I guess that just comes with eating fresh fish. The sauce had a nice acidity to it and went really well with the flavor of the fish. For dessert, the gelato and sorbet came with several flavor options - I opted for cookie butter gelato and mango sorbet. I didn't quite care for the powdered cookie that came with it as it was very bland and quite honestly was like eating cardboard. But the gelato was very sweet and creamy, taste kind of reminded me of a blend between a biscoff cookie and horchata. The mango sorbet was my favorite of the two - the mango flavor was very concentrated and not artificial tasting at all, like it came from a real mango. My partner's tiramisu came in large bowl and we were surprised by how much was given. It was so decadent and rich but not overwhelming. Lunch was easily a 10/10 and I would absolutely come back for round 2. read more
