PARKING: It's cheaper to use valet than to park in the garage. If you use the public parking garage, you are charged the duration of your stay. If you valet, it's complimentary (just tip). Also, if you have a large vehicle, it's harder to find a spot in the public garage because the spaces are tiny. Service is great. Everyone is friendly from start to finish. On the last two occasions during a holiday (i.e., Mother's Day) someone came around with complimentary cookies or bread/cheese. Atmosphere is pleasant. We went during an occasion, such as Mother's Day, and they had live piano music in the back which was nice. Plenty of windows for natural sunlight where we sat. The menu is interesting the first time but unfortunately felt dull the second time around. It'll be great to see more seasonal items new things on the menu. Overall though, the food is good - I recommend trying.
Great happy hour location any day, they only seat in the covered patio or bar area so it is limited. The service and dining experience was great, informative and friendly server. The food came out fairly fast, we did however have an issue with the lamb chops, they were overly cooked and we requested for medium. The server gladly had our dish replaced, and it was much better. Very tender and juicy! The other happy hour items were as to be expected, just sub par. The highlight was the meat balls and the beet carpaccio, they were delicious and tasty. Definitely a unique dish!
***Beets Capaccio A very Innovative way to eat a salad. Underneath the delicate layer of beets is actually a green salad mixed tossed with chunks of golden beets! The dressing was of a light vinaigrette. The toasted walnuts added a nice crunch and much appreciated rich texture to the salad. *** Tuscan Fried Chicken Kind of a let down, disappointment. The newspaper decorative element was interesting but the chicken itself felt very underwhelming. Too thick of batter. Serving size was not favorable. ***Lamb chop Initially the lamb was well done. I had to send it back for it to be cooked to medium ring. Flavor-wise was excellent. Although I would not order a chop of this size again. This is mainly just for taste testing. ***Polpette Classic two meatballs with a slice of bread. Nothing remarkable at all. ***Veal Bolognese Honestly couldn't tell the difference if this was ground beef had the menu not set otherwise. But there was very little bits of meat mixed with the pasta. ***White Fish Rillettes Very much reminded me of eating canned tuna with toasted lays. The only thing that elevated this dish was the caviar and even then, it wasn't that amazing. Flavor was kind of lackluster, felt like it came from a can. ***Raw Oysters This was arguably my favorite item off the menu for this instance. That was yours tasted very fresh and the cocktail sauce appears to be made in house and has a nice citrus undertone that pairs really well with the raw oysters. Overall I probably won't return unless they're menu changes. I think the vibe was elevated in the plating was also elevated. But the food just did not seem to bring home the same sentiment. Service and staff was really nice. Our server quickly rectified the situation with the lamb chops being overly cooked.
As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed and I could tell the service would be top tier. I went here to try their Houston restaurant week and it did not disappoint. The steak was juicy and had a rich buttery flavor with a perfect balance of salt. The atmosphere was nice. It's a bit upscale and more elevated than a casual place. There was no dress code. I did park in the garage which costed about $5. Valet around there is $10.
Been here a couple times and finally writing a review. Will continue to come back! Great service, great food my favorite pasta is the Rigatoni à la vodka. Marmo has one of the best happy hour menu's!! Happy hour 3-6pm Single serving pastas starting at $5! Great environment with indoor and big outdoor seating available, very classy and clean. What I ordered: Blue crab bruschetta Tuscan fried chicken Veal Bolognese Rigatoni à la Vodka Cacio e Pepe (only offered on happy hour) Chicken Parmesan Dirty martini Wine
Came here the other day for HRW which they had good options. It was my second time here but both times the pasta has been incredible. From the HRW menu we had the hamachi, skirt steak, and tiramisu. The hamachi (crudo) tasted very fresh and the garnishes they add goes very well with it, just kinda crazy how that appetizer is already $20 for regular pricing. The skirt steak turned out much better than I expected. For medium rare it was still so tender, juicy, and the roasted garlic elevated the flavor, I'd highly recommend it. Overall very well seasoned. Side note it's 8oz which on the HRW menu is the same as the regular menu. We added on the Squid Ink Campanelle which I've heard is really good and a must-try. It's very rich in flavor and the squid ink doesn't taste earthy or anything. If I remember correctly our server said it was mostly for color. Needless to say I'd highly recommend this as well, probably one of the more unique pasta dishes I've had. Service was great, they take your used plates promptly and give you fresh clean ones. Our server was friendly and was able to explain how the HRW menu worked so we appreciated that. Though the menu is a little pricey, I'd still come back to try their other dishes in the future!
I made a reservation at Marmo for a party of seven at 8:45 PM, but we weren't seated until 8:59 PM. Not a big deal on its own, but the experience went downhill from there. We ordered everything at once, and our server mentioned bread would come with a mascarpone spread. The bread arrived, but the spread never did. The wait for food was very long--by 9:37 PM, we still hadn't received appetizers. When the food finally came, everything (apps and entrées) arrived at the same time. There were also several order issues. My friend ordered a piccolo squid ink pasta but was given a larger (and more expensive) grande. I ordered my steak medium, but it came out rare. When I asked, the server initially insisted I ordered medium rare in a rude tone, then later admitted I was right and took it back. It came back overcooked and burnt--unacceptable for an $88 steak. The rest of the food didn't make up for it. My pasta was overcooked and falling apart, and the sides were room temperature and overly salty. To top it off, there was a "facilities fee" added to the bill that was never disclosed anywhere, which felt misleading. The ambiance was nice, but it was so loud. Overall, between the long wait, poor service, incorrect orders, and disappointing food, the experience was not worth it. I wouldn't return.
Ladies Night Out at Marmo was definitely one for the books! The vibes were immaculate--drinks flowing, laughter nonstop, and just an overall good time with the girls. What we tried: * Caesar salad - fresh, light, and a solid starter * Bolognese - rich, hearty, and comforting * Chicken parmigiana - cheesy, saucy, classic done right * Crawfish risotto - not quite the hit we expected, a little underwhelming * Gulf red snapper - THE STAR OF THE SHOW! Let's talk about that snapper...baby, it was divine! Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and sitting in that creamy sauce like it knew it was the moment. Easily the standout dish of the night. Overall, Marmo delivered on flavor, ambiance, and experience. Even with the risotto missing the mark a bit, everything else more than made up for it. Final: Great food, great energy, and a perfect spot for a girls' night or date night. I'll definitely be back!

Wow wow wow. This is a must try restaurant in Houston. Here are some details about the experience. The boundaries of Italian definitely are expanded by this spot! Our server Fernando was kind and informative about the menu items; including being attentive to our small party Atmosphere: Enjoyed a beautiful early spring dinner on the patio. Blending some people watching with great weather. Food: Delicious, creative and a party for the taste buds. Nice pre-course bread and cheese. Some seafood items, some traditional items and a few twists on before seen dishes (specifically regarding the apps) Service was good, but I was just a little thrown off by the mandatory 20% gratuity for our party of five. (Slight drop in the score) Good experience and all things considered, I would go again.
The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous -- such a vibe, period. The ambiance alone makes it worth visiting. Unfortunately, the noise level was a bit too much. In hindsight, we probably should have sat outside so we could actually have a conversation without yelling. That part was disappointing. It also took a little while for our waiter to come to the table, which wasn't ideal. I ordered the quail tortellini, and while it was very tasty, the portion was ridiculously small for the price. The menu overall was good, though. The appetizers were good, and dessert did not disappoint either. Overall, I think they could improve the menu and portion sizes for certain dishes. That said, the ambiance is definitely the highlight for me. I would probably go back for a couple of drinks and an appetizer just to enjoy the vibe again.
I came here during happy hour, and I want to give this place four stars for the excellent ambience and service. Food on the other hand was pretty mediocre. Parking is also quite difficult so make sure to do valet or park a little farther away on the street. Polpettes: excellent deal, but it is way too salty. Each bite was a sodium bomb. Beef tartare: I definitely thought the tartare would be a pile of minced meat, not a sandwich. I think the description was off because it also said that it served with focaccia and the bread we got definitely was not focaccia. The beef tartare was a miss for me. Bolognese: the Bolognese was also way too salty. This disappoints me because everything else about the dish was good. The texture, the flavor all good but insanely salty. Cacio e Pepe: this dish came out towards the end so I thought our waitress forgot about it. Luckily we did follow up and it came and I'm so glad I tried it because it was the best dish out of all of these dishes. Also one of the best cacio w pepes I have had..
Upscale Italian food with limited vegetarian options. I visited with a group of friends and tried two appetizers (Caesar salad and burrata) and had the eggplant parm. Eggplant parm was unique and tasty. It comes as a stacked square shape with layers of eggplant and a breaded crispy layer on top. I only saw two other spaghetti dishes available as other entree options. As with most Italian food spots meals are carb heavy for vegetarians and not as filling. Ambiance was upscale but service was very slow the day we went. Our food and check took a while to come out. Total meal time was more than two hours. I don't think I would visit again due to limited vegetarian food options and high price point.

Beautiful restaurant for happy hour. Friendly attentive staff, live music, great bar to meet people. I stop by to take advantage of their happy hour from time to time. Place is beautiful. Upscale restaurant. Went for lunch date with my husband. We ordered the carrot salad which was very refreshing. Even though we ordered pasta for lunch, the pasta was made in house and was so light that we could finish our portions and didn't feel carb overloaded at the end. I cannot tell you how much I love this place. My job brought us here for a retreat dinner as we get ready for the new school year. Well. Well...it's gorgeous inside. A great work space, happy hour space and altogether anything space. The service was great by our waiter. They have such an amazing happy hour. Vodka Pasta Meatball Pasta Cesar Salad Grilled Shrimp Was my order, $23 for all. No kidding. I ordered the salad twice !!!!! So add $5 more. lol. Tried out their happy hour on a Thursday during my work trip and it was a great experience! HH is only at the patio or bar, so I opted to sit outside. The bar inside is also very pretty but the weather outside was perfect. My waiter was very friendly and helpful and he even gave me some recommendations since it had been my first time eating here. I ended up ordering the Rigatoni Alla Vodka, Polpette, and the Caesar Salad for food and a Bees Knees with their Beefeater Gin for my cocktail. The amount I ordered was perfect for 1 person and the price was amazing too! Overall, I had a great experience and would like to thank my waiter for all of the recs! Perfect birthday dinner. When I dine out, I'm looking to have something I wouldn't make on my own or at least a very excellent rendition of a dish. The duck is excellent. Get the duck! Not until I came back home to Cali and ordered a very similar dish elsewhere, did I realize not every duck+dark cherry dish is built the same. The fish was good. The sauce, good & sweet. The oysters were ok, accompanied by an ok mignonette. I came here specifically for happy hour mid-week, and it was already packed--which says a lot. Only a few seats left at the bar, but the bartenders were super attentive and fast. The happy hour bites were excellent. I had the Tuscan fried chicken, Caesar salad, and polpette, all flavorful and well-prepared. This place can definitely be on the pricier side for dinner, which probably explains why happy hour draws such a crowd. Great value, great food, and great service. I'll definitely be back. read more

Let's start with the parking situation, they have valet in front of the restaurant, and it's free once you get the ticket validated, the problem is once you leave, you have to walk across the street and wait in a long line to get valet to pull up your car. We had reservations for a Saturday night and they took us right on time. There was a girl walking around giving out a small piece of dry bread and hard cheese. I asked her for some butter as the bread needed either oil or butter. Pretty sure she didn't speak English because she never came back with the butter! We ordered a delicious cocktail with hibiscus flavor and the crab bruschetta. The crab was delicious and the bread was flaky and flavorful. We ordered the small portion of lobster fra diablo pasta and the skirt steak. Both dishes were good but nothing to rave about. The steak was extremely salty and the pasta just tasted like you can open a can of pasta sauce at home and throw a few pieces of lobster in it. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu and peach crostata. The tiramisu was creamy, with great flavors, however the peach crostata was bland and flavorless. I wasn't impressed with this place at all. read more

Visited for a happy hour. The restaurant had a decent amount of food traffic and we were able to snag the last open table in the bar area. During this time, there was a piano player which was a pleasant surprise. The Polpette meatballs were so good and filling- I would come back for these. The Tuscan fried chicken was okay, a bit dry but was still pretty decent. read more

I came here during happy hour with one of my friends and absolutely enjoyed everything that we tried on the menu. The portions are a decent size and allow you to get a taste of everything without feeling super full. Happy hour menu has a great selection of favorites. Our server during the time of our visit was rude as soon as we sat down. This confused my friend and I because we had just gotten there, were seated and already the server had an attitude. We didn't pay any attention to it though and just decided to enjoy our lunch despite that. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating on their patio. The inside is decorated nicely. I would recommend chickens place out during their happy hour. Parking is a bit tricky as there is only street parking in a residential area from what I saw. read more

The pasta here is always excellent, especially the squid ink pasta. It's creamy, flavorful, and the seafood balances it perfectly. The ambience is nice, and I really like the décor, though it can get a bit loud at times. Service was excellent as well. A couple of downsides: the restroom is unisex, which I'm not a fan of, and it was disappointing that we still had to wait for a table even with a reservation. On top of that, being charged $4 per person to bring our own cake felt a little ridiculous. read more

We love exploring new restaurants and even drove all the way from Richmond for this one. While the ambience and service were absolutely excellent, the food was, unfortunately, a huge disappointment, probably the worst we've had in a very long time. We couldn't even finish it, nor did we want to take it home, which was such a shame because the restaurant itself is stunning. It happened to be my husband's birthday, and we even declined their birthday dessert. In all these years, I've only written maybe two or three negative reviews, and this had to be one of them and this tops them all. The whole dining experience was so bad that we ended up laughing about it, but it's definitely a "never again." Still, it was an experience we're oddly grateful for and to make up for it, we've already booked another spot somewhere else today! read more

Absolutely beautiful. The ambiance alone sells it for me. I came in for happy hour and was amazed at the decor at the bar. The service is extremely quick and the staff is warm and inviting. I ordered the Rigatoni alla Vodka and it is divine. Did I forget to mention it's $5 on happy hour? I'm currently writing this as I listen to the amazing pianist. Marmo is THE SPOT for happy hour. Seriously, it's packed and runs everyday until 6pm, weekends included. A girlfriend and I decided to stop by on Friday after work around 4:15pm and ended up having to wait for about 20 minutes for an outside table in the shade. The vibe is modern, sophisticated, and classy, such that they even brought table purse hooks for me and my friend so we didn't have to set our bags on the ground. A nice touch. The happy hour menu includes $2 oysters, several bites for $5, $8 and beef tartar and tuna crudo for $15. For drinks they have $6 wines, $5 beer, and $8 select spirits. My girlfriend and I got both the white wine and sparkling wine and both were super light and refreshing, perfect for the hot summer weather. For food, I'm a huge oyster girl and ended up getting a half dozen of the oysters in addition to the shrimp skewers. The oysters were tasty but not the best that I've ever had. The server unfortunately didn't tell me where they were sourced from but they were on the larger side, almost heading in the direction of a gulf oyster (gasp!). I prefer some of the smaller oysters with a more salty, brine taste. These were still good though. The shrimp skewers were also tasty and definitely something that I would order again. No complaints on taste, however the serving sizes were on the smaller end. While the restaurant was busy, our waitress was very friendly and checked on us several times to see if we needed anything else. read more

We visited Marmo for a much needed date night after a long work week. Arriving at 9:30pm, the restaurant was still buzzing and packed. There was a pianist playing and singing in the bar area with just the right volume to become background music in the dining room. Alex, our server, was friendly and knowledgeable with the right amount of attention while letting us have an enjoyable meal. We started with the very good charred octopus that was served on a cannellini bean humus with celery and Fresno peppers. Then we moved on to a half portion of the squid ink pasta with crab and uni. This was the star of the night. For the entree, we shared a 10 ounce wagyu ribeye that was very good, well-cooked to medium rare and paired it with sides of mushrooms and crispy, lightly smashed potatoes. For drinks we had a nice barolo and finished with espresso martinis. To wrap everything up the GM dropped by just to see how we were and we had a pleasant conversation. We'll be back and you should do the same or drop in for the first time. read more

This place is beautifully located in the motrose area, with plent of seating inside and out. I stopped by during their happy hour and was genuinely impressed! I ordered the shrimp skewers, rigatoni alla vodka (twice because it was delicious!) and a plaoma,all for just $27! read more
Great new place! We started with the Calamari and Tuscon Fried Chicken. The Calamari was my favorite, but not your usual fried Calamari. For entree I had the Halibut and it was delicious!!!!! We also ordered the wild boar and porcini pasta. It was good as well. Ambiance of the restaurant is really nice, chill, relax, and modern. Very nice and relaxing. Our server Oscar was very nice and helpful with suggestions. He really knew his menu inside and out. Great personality and was very attentive. He checked on us frequently, but not too much. Just the right amount. Make sure to hold on to him! Overall, a great new spot. Complimentary valet parking, or a large underground parking garage. read more

You can never go wrong with Marmo happy hour! Everything on the menu is decently priced with $6 wine glasses, and a variety of food options. The pasta here is hands down the best in Houston and I recommend this spot to everyone. The portions are just right and the prices are fair for the area. The restaurant itself is really elegant and has a fancy atmosphere that makes it a great place for a night out. Service is always top notch which makes the whole experience even better. Okay Marmo! I've been hearing about this place for a while and I finally had the chance to visit. Umpt it did not disappoint. Pastas and breads and vino! They have it! Word in the street is they make some of the pastas in-house and some of the ingredients are imported from Italia?! Any rate the pasta is goodt! And so is the bread that is passed around by that server. I really needed her to just leave a basket st my table because good! I ordered a simple pasta while my friend ordered the rigatoni. The have two size options. Piccolo and grande. (Big or small) I'm a hungry girlie so no small portions over here. Now that carrot salad is a no for me 0/10 wouldn't reccomend. I was trying to add some veggies to the carbs but those complex carb hit on nothing. Now my spaghetti though! So good and well worth although it came with too much cheese for my lactose gut. My friend raved about the rigatoni! I sampled a piece it was in deed good. Overall I plan to come back and try more pastas on the menu as I suffered no symptoms of the it's post dinner likely due to the freshness and quality of the food! read more
My friend and I went to Marmo for my late birthday dinner. We've had Marmo on our radar for awhile and are glad we finally made it. We were 30 min late due to the rain and traffic but had no issue pushing back our reservation. We were just sad we missed happy hour. The restaurant itself gives a warm and inviting feel. There was a pianist playing modern hits which was nice as we enjoyed dinner. All the servers we encountered were welcoming and friendly. First, we were provided bread and parmesan cheese. We love bread and cheese lol. I ordered the Andiamo cocktail (tequila+passion fruit) loved it. For the appetizer we ordered the blue crab bruschetta. It was delicious. Nice, light, and citrusy with a kick. For our entrees we ordered the spinach gnocchi and squid ink campanelle. We were told the pastas were house made. The quality was there. We thoroughly enjoyed both pastas! Next time, will try to make it for happy hour as they have a great menu! read more

Man oh man, this place is charming! We were feeling froggy one day...ran up on this spot and really loaded up on the happy hour! Zaddy's ethnic roots makes him crave my least favorite cuisine: ITALIAN!!! I didn't have high expectations on this place...I'm going to have to eat my thoughts and take the L! Marmo, I owe you an apology! Every bite i indulged was divine! .....just wish there was more of it! Definitely take advantage of the happy hour! You can't go wrong, here. The oysters, flavorful, but small, were clearly the winner for me while my eating companion raved on the rigatoni! Tiny portions, but Marmo has bills to pay! Did I mention Cute and clean restrooms? We had 2 drinks each with all the apps which totaled up to around $100. Stop crying...you were going to spend that alone, anyway. Again, I'm sorry, Marmo! read more
I went here for happy hour & really like the food. To start I asked for a spicy mocktail. The food I ordered was oysters, Polpette, Rigatoni, White fish rillettes. The mignonette for the oysters gave them a nice touch. The rigatoni pasta noodles tasted handmade. The polpette meatballs were really rich in flavor. The White fish rillettes came with caviar but if you squint you'll miss the caviar overall a good experience! read more
Pasta is where Marmo Houston really shines. The moment the plates hit the table, the aromas were inviting, but the flavors were even better. The calamari, in particular, surprised me--instead of the usual heavy, fried version, this tasted almost like the essence of a seafood pasta translated into an appetizer: lighter, clean, and refreshing, with enough depth to keep each bite interesting. I'd come back for that alone. The Blueberry Bucatini was another standout--unexpected yet beautifully balanced. The fruitiness didn't read as "sweet" so much as bright and savory, coating perfectly al dente strands and making the whole dish feel modern and memorable. The Squid Ink Campanelle was a 10/10: inky, briny richness with a satisfying chew, those ruffled edges catching every bit of sauce in all the right ways. If there was one miss, it was the Chicken Parmigiana--not bad by any means, just pretty standard compared to the creativity and finesse of the pastas. Verdict: come for the pasta program (and that singular calamari), and you'll leave very happy. read more

Second visit here and the quality and service is just as good as the first time. I tried the vodka pasta in the large size and added chicken, it didn't even need a protein it was very good lots of leftovers. Reasonably priced for the portion received. I'm not a fan of lobster, but the lobster diavlo dish was unexpectedly very good as well. It was busy, didn't realize happy hour is everyday. I think the mocktail I ordered was the minerva (don't remember for sure) it was $15 which is my only dislike why are regular drinks priced the same as cocktails and then it didn't taste good but other than that marmo is still one of the best restaurants in the city. read more

Beautiful restaurant and piano bar in restaurant row. Work lunch celebrating the Christmas season. Everyone enjoyed. Food was interesting and rich. It is a take on Italian, it is not authentic Italian (see images). Pastas are best value as steaks are very expensive, $75 at lunch. Tough price point as they are competing against some of the best steakhouses around here in Houston. I had the squid ink and crab pasta half portion which was generous and good value. It was tasty and very rich with plenty of crab that was fresh. The breadcrumbs and seaweed were unnecessary. Overall very good, just not authentic Italian if that is what you are looking for. Service was pretty good. Somewhat attentive but not overly knowledgeable or professional. read more

Tonight was my second ever dine-in here, but my 3rd visit including one takeout on my second time almost two months ago. Like my first visit ever, I ordered the Vodka Rigatoni on the patio instead of inside in the daytime like over a year ago when I discovered this place. Very delicious, very fresh pasta, very comforting entree. I also got the large portion which was worth it and the sauce to noodle ratio was great too. The flavor profile was a bit spicy and tangy. The sauce wasn't too thick or creamy, but not watery either. The little basil pieces added a nice, smooth herby touch to the rest. You could tell onions were cooked into the meal in a very well-blended fashion. The service from my server was very attentive, welcoming, friendly and efficient. I still need to get their bolognese and a dessert in the future. If their Prime NY Strip is recommended, then that eventually as well. read more
