Such a wonderful experience during my visit to Marston's. We were looking for a breakfast spot close to our hotel and stumbled upon a hidden gem. We were seated promptly and greeted by such friendly staff. We had our cat in her carrier backpack and they were very accommodating. I had their two egg breakfast with bacon and eggs but for my bread choice, I asked for corn tortillas and they were able to make that change! The potato's were great, the bacon was juicy and crispy. We had such a wonderful experience and we can't wait to come back in the future!

I was in Pasadena when a friend recommended this place for breakfast so we gave it a try. We tried the breakfast sandwich, andouille omelette and pancakes. The omelette was tasty and the potatoes were yummy but were loaded with onions, so if you're not into onions beware. The pancakes were okay. Service was fast and the ambience was calm for a Sunday morning.

Marston's is a cool little restaurant with a chill vibe. Went there for breakfast with friends. I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon and it was delicious. Our server was prompt and courteous.

Cute old-fashioned diner - reliable, predictable American food, filter coffee, friendly staff and friendly patrons. All happy. No extravagant stuff, no extravagant expectations.

The French toast really is fantastic

Came here for a quick breakfast for lunch on a Thursday at 1:00 p.m. it was quick service in and out and delicious. It was pretty no nonsense and got to the point. The menu was extensive but the French toast was supreme. The staff was super nice and quick. They have their own little parking lot which is nice too. It's got loud diner vibes but that's what I expected. There is a nice patio out front and on the side as well if you want to sit outside. I would definitely come back and travel the menu if I lived nearby. It was the perfect breakfast

They offer a split plate fee--this is half an andouille omelette.

Omelette was not what I expected, but good! The big chunks of andouille sausage were nice--not mealy or bland as this type of sausage can be. The offer a split fee, which I love because the portions are huge. The service was kind and the vibe is simple and clean and pleasant.

Marston's is a great neighborhood spot. The service is excellent! It was my first time going but I felt like I was a regular. All the staff were so nice and attentive! All the food was solid. The blueberry pancakes were nice and fluffy and the bacon wasn't too salty. I am looking forward to trying their french toast next time!

My brothers and I had gone to our usual spot Russel's on Fair Oaks, but we were treated so poorly that we decided to come to Marston's. Here, we had a great breakfast. The service was fabulous, the food was delicious, the dinning room was comfortable. Everything about the experience was amazing.

    The Powerhouse Omelette

Don't normally give a 5star but they earned it. Staff were amazing. Location is great and it has a true small cafe feel. I ordered the powerhouse omelette and it was a home run. Perfect amount of food and tasted outstanding. It is an egg white veggie omelette and came with fresh fruit and toast and it was all great down to the last bite. 100 percent coming back when I am in the area next.

Nice place for a bite. However, the food is fine, just not amazing. Be sure to ask for a soft scramble omelet if you don't want to be served an omelet where the egg is cooked well done. Service was excellent and friendly. That was a plus. Parking lot is small, so may have to find street parking nearby.

Definitely one of the most popular breakfast restaurants in all of Pasadena. It's very laid-back and you feel as if you are eating inside someone's home. The wait times are never as long here as some other restaurants close by but also it's not the best option in town. Russell's, a few blocks away, is the best breakfast in Pasadena in my opinion, but Marston's is still worth visiting. They have an extremely tiny and narrow parking lot with free parking otherwise it will be street parking. They have a fairly large menu filled with a lot of good options and our server was very polite. Inside is not very large and just has table seating, there is not a counter. The food here is good, but not great. For my first visit I chose the special - Crab Cake Benedict and thought it was just OK. The crabcakes did not have as much flavor as I had recently and I really did not enjoy the side of potatoes. I would suggest offering hashbrowns instead. I also felt it was a bit overpriced for what we got in return and honestly I don't think I would visit again given the other breakfast options close by.

    Texas Chili Omelet

Came here with some coworkers on Wednesday afternoon for lunch. Luckily it wasn't too busy and got seated quick inside. The place is small but feels very homey. Our server was very nice and attentive. I ordered the Texas chili omelette. The portion was very generous! The chili had a great homemade taste. It went very well with the potatoes it came with. The only downfall is the parking. It's very limited but it's worth the walk if you have to park far.

    Macadamia nut pancakes
    Carol R.

My husband and I were in town visiting and met a friend here. She raved about the cornflake-crusted French toast. It's a cozy place and it seems to be very popular. Service was fast and friendly. We had the French toast (one with berries and nuts and one with berries and bananas) and the macadamia nut pancakes. The French toast was OK but not stellar. The coating was nice but the bread was not soaked in the milk and egg dip enough to give it a good flavor. The pancakes were plain, a bit tasteless, with a sprinkling of macadamia nuts on top of the pile. (Hubby expected it to be in the batter of the pancake or at least throughout the layers.) Breakfast for three with beverages, tax, and tip was $88.

Expect to pay $20+ for most of the dishes Ordered the Avocado Benedict ($20.95) and it consisted of 2 egg muffins, topped with a poached egg, avocado, and ham, as well as a garden salad and country fried potatoes. One of the eggs arrived destroyed so it was already runny and the other one was a little overcooked so it wasn't perfectly poached as I was expecting but it wasn't too big of a deal. The ham was a little dry and salty but the avocado was very delicious and fresh. The egg muffin was quite cold and dry so it wasn't too enjoyable. The garden salad was pretty basic and just had some greens, corn, and tomatoes so nothing too special. The potatoes arrived cold, dry and slightly crunchy. It was extremely salty so it was hard to enjoy Overall, I thought the food was a little pricey and underwhelming unfortunately.

The delivery took about 50 minutes to get to me after ordering and I was a bit nervous about how soggy both would be, especially the chilaquiles since I like when the chips are mostly hard still. I was pleasantly surprised and thankful that the salsa for the chilaquiles came on the side and though the waffle wasn't as crispy as I thought it would be, it was thick and fluffy and tasted great with the toppings. The salsa for the chilaquiles had a kick to them that I enjoyed and it went great with the cheese, red onions, and sunny side egg that came with it. I definitely would want to check this place out in person and try their other options as well!

Unfortunately, this was a really disappointing experience. The woman taking our order did not seem to know what Celiac disease or gluten even was, and became visibly annoyed when I asked basic questions about food preparation and cross contamination. When I asked about the prep station and whether gloves or utensils could be changed, she refused to ask the cooks. From what I was told, nearly everything shares the same grill. The only item that might potentially be safe would be eggs cooked in a separate pan, but without changing gloves or utensils, even that would not actually be safe for someone with Celiac disease. I ended up not eating at all. I actually left my party and waited in the car because I wanted to cry. It was embarrassing and honestly heartbreaking to feel like asking questions to protect my health was treated like an inconvenience. I completely understand not every restaurant can accommodate Celiac, but kindness, honesty, and basic understanding go a long way. I hope the staff can receive better education about food allergies and cross contamination in the future.

At one point the noodles kind of gave instant noodle vibes, which felt like a missed opportunity because the broth deserved better. I almost wish there were different noodle options or honestly just less noodles because I mostly just wanted to sip the broth. We also tried the ube gnocchi, which sounded amazing in theory, but it ended up being a little too creamy for me and I did not get as much ube flavor as I was hoping for. The real standout besides that incredible broth was the chicken wings. So crispy, so tender, and ridiculously flavorful. Absolutely would order those again.
