We drive almost an hour to enjoy this spot once a year. The food, the atmosphere and everything about this spot is amazing each and every time! Today our server, Tristan, was top notch! Marty B's is the place. Went to the Valentines Day event, 3 course menu, bottle of wine and live music, great deal, great ambiance, wonderful service and the kitchen always nails it. Been there a few times hoping the food and service would improve, never did. I like bbq a lot but the only thing you can taste is smoke, salty too. The cocktail we had (The Outlaw) is overpriced and tasted terrible! Next time we would consider renting a cabana. Food was delicious. I highly recommend the jalapeño poppers and brisket nachos. I got the two meat platter of brisket and their hatch chili Mac, both delicious. The only cons I have are it was way noisier in the restaurant than I was expecting (could barely hold a conversation with your neighbor) and that cocktail was terrible. This place was my worst experience of going to the restaurant in last 20 years , we drove 19 miles to reach there , when we talk to the front desk they said go and choose your table and server will be with you , we went and fount the table , wait for over 25 minutes and no one came to aske even who you are , we went to talk to front desk again , and still same thing , 20 minutes more , total of 45 minutes just waiting for someone to just come and give us a menu while the restaurant was not really busy , they are very diss respect , with poor management . absolutely poor management . Overall a great experience! I made the drive out to Bartonville for my aunt's birthday lunch, and it was certainly worth it! The service was a bit slow; the waitress took a while to come take our order, and my meal didn't come out with all the others. The food was AMAZING though! I had the steak, and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The restaurant itself had a very Texan vibe to it. (There's even horse parking, if you need it!) We ordered the pulled pork tacos, which were so flavorful and moist and the sliced brisket. The portion for the brisket could have been bigger but it was cooked well. Never again! Had one of the most NOT relaxing nights here. 1. Service is terrible, our waitress would leave and not show up for 30 minutes. 2. Manager is rude AF and useless, said he'll solve our issue but did not. Two men started fighting right in front of our eyes and the manager didn't do anything to address the situation. 4. It's so loud, you can't hear anyone in your group talk. 5. Food is disgusting and overpriced. Served with plastic utensils and plates. Drinks are too sweet. 6. Place is dirty, needs a good clean. The tables are sticky and there's food on the ground everywhere. 7. Don't bring your kids, there's nothing for them to do there. Overall, horrible experience and we're never coming back. Fajitas sides were typical, charro beans just okay. We got the combo fajitas, chicken & steak. For the price, sub par to others... steak was not melt in your mouth and the chicken was dry, more like lower priced fajitas. But served on an excellent bed of sautéed onions! We closed with the chocolate chip cookie and vanilla which was exceptionally good! Atmosphere: new modern rustic, cozy for a large space... noisy but we could hear each other. I first went to Marty B's the first month it opened. I ordered the pulled pork. As I put the first bite in my mouth my girlfriend was concerned by the look on my face. Marty himself came by and asked if all was well. I told him this was the best pulled pork I ever had. My eyes nearly watered. Thus began several years of visits. I took friends and relatives whenever they were in town. Fast forward to yesterday. I went back as I was in town from California as I moved 8 months ago. I had chicken wings. Very good. Ordered pulled pork, and was excited about it. The only side was 2 slices of white bread and something that might have been cabbage like if it was actually prepared. One slice was stale. The pulled pork was cold. Not only cold but someone decided putting rub powder on it was a good idea! Makes it salty. What the????? Very sad. I was going to tell Marty but he never came by my table but did to several around me. Not as big a deal was the price on the menu is less than what was charged. Only a couple of bucks but the menus were looking pretty tired. Love this place, but they need to stick to what made them successful. Came in for lunch today. A lot of people but a very short wait. We ordered the brisket queso which was awesome!! I ordered bbq chicken and jalapeño sausage. The chicken looks like it was brined and smoked to perfection. The sausage the cheese in it didn't have any flavor just tasted like the processed cheese in the cheap jerky cheese pack. The texture was different like it had cornbread mixed in it, but it wasn't greasy. Homemade pickles and onions were sweet and tangy. My husband got the brisket sandwhich with hatch Chile Mac and cheese. The sandwhich had slaw on it which made the bread soggy and fell apart on the first bite. My husband ordered the brisket plate with fries and beans, both good and 2 pieces of brisket- 2. One dinner roll each snd tea. $51.50. If you want delicious BBQ with a real portion for your money go to 407 or the Smokehouse or Bubbleshoots. I so miss the ribs at Bet the House. I'm a pretty easy grader on service especially. Post-Covid I'm just thankful for people working. Anyway, three of us from Chicago were visiting friends in TX and we went here last night. Our waiter, Mason, a young Texan with a great smile and cowboy hat was one of the nicest waiters I have ever had. And I'm 61! Just cheerful the whole night. Always greeted us with a smile. Gave suggestions. He should put on a youtube clinic on how to work at a restaurant. So service was exceptional. We had a wide variety of selections on the menu. Loved the guac. Fantastic brisket and the sides were equally as tasty. I ordered chopped brisket and it was wonderful! It was moist and had great seasoning. I ordered collard greens and Mac and cheese as my sides. The collard greens were cooked to the perfect tenderness and had a bit of spice to them. The Mac and cheese was incredibly cheesy and the noodles were cooked to perfection.
