Discovered that the outdoor area we were at was a limited menu, seemed odd but what we wanted was on the menu so no biggie. Just something to note. First time here and was shocked when we drove up of how big the place was. The wait was long for the restaurant so we went upstairs to the patio to eat. It was very loud due to the metal roof right above us, but we managed. Don't think I would sit up there again due to having to shout just to hear. I think I would sit in the downstairs area by the band. Now about the food. We shared the brisket nachos. They were excellent. The brisket was very flavorful, the cheese was some of the best I've had, not sure what kind it was, but was very smooth and didn't get hard as it got cold. The pico was nice and the jalapeños were spicy. All made for very good nachos. We also had the jalapeño cheese sausage which also was very good. After all that we went downstairs to listen to the band while having a few drinks. It was really a nice experience and are counting the days till we go back. read more

Honestly, wasn't quite sure what to expect on our first visit to Marty B's. Lots of local hype can swing either way. Probably pushed me to lower my expectations a bit. Which in no way diminishes how significantly those expectations were exceeded. Wow. Started with drinks at the bar while we waited. Went with the Outlaw. Sort of close to an Old Fashioned but better with a little smoke added. While at the bar, I commented to my wife about a beer called "Fire Ant Funeral"--mostly that it was a clever name and was an amber which is my kind of beer. Next thing I know, the bartender is sitting a small glass of beer in front of me and says, "this is the Fire Ant Funeral". That's customer service. It's also eavesdropping--but that's a quality I admire most in a good bartender :) She ended up giving us a few more samples to try while we waited. That's above-and-beyond stuff. We decided to try our way around the appetizer part of the menu and ordered the brisket queso, stuffed meatballs, jalapeño poppers and cheese fries. Yeah, the healthy-heart sampler. Here's where the 5th star came off the rating. The server--very nice kid who seemed to genuinely be trying hard--didn't make any attempt to pace the delivery of the plates or ask us if we wanted them paced. All the dishes just showed up at once, overwhelming the table and us. I should have known better and either ordered in segments or asked for them to be paced--but 5-star places train the staff to do that automatically. Minor blip on what was an overall excellent experience. Won't go into details on the dishes because everybody likes different things about the same food. But, there isn't a one of them I wouldn't order again. Because of the portion size, I wouldn't order all 4 again though for just 2 people. That's a great problem to have. And we're going to have a great lunch tomorrow. Stepped outside as we left to check out the live music and outdoor seating area. Very nice. They've found a way to make this a family friendly place for those with kids, without making it feel like a TGIF's for those of us without. Nice balance. Super happy to have found that Marty B's is as good as we've heard and that we do have a place within 15 minutes of the house that has food as good as what I find when I'm traveling the country. This location is everything! They have an awesome outdoor eating area that is excellent in the summer months (usually have live music). I really enjoy their craft beer list which has a lot of options with many different seasonal beers as well. Great cocktail and wine selection too. I love any of their tacos. They're fresh and tasty. This restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining. Indoor has a more refined menu. Outdoor has live music on the weekend that is fantastic. Most of the bands are amazing! The food is very good but can be a little pricey for being outside but with the FREE music, well worth it. Alcoholic Drinks to me are a bit overpriced but that is just me. Marty B's is a destination restaurant. Go to eat, stay a while and have fun! Inside is plenty big, but extremely loud. Bad acoustics. On top of the restaurant is a large covered patio that's perfect when it's not to hot. Beside the restaurant is a great party area. A stage for live music, and lots of picnic tables, some covered for your dining pleasure. And an outside bar. There are some outdoor games to play, and huge fire pits. Perfect place to do some s'mores! Now the food. Ricky and I did BBQ, which was very good and priced as you would expect, higher than it should be, but all places are. Reesa and Glenda did steaks. $30 for a 6 ounce fillet. That was a delicious little bitty steak! The ribeye was also delicious. Too full for dessert, but I'm sure it's good.
