One of the few " all you can eat" sushi places. I have been here twice already and both times I have been impressed by the food. It has been very " fresh" and very delicious. The one exception was the calamari tempura under the appetizer section of the menu; it did not taste like calamari. It seemed to be more of some sort of culinary gelatin mixture with very little calamari flavor. (This is the one item I would recommend avoiding.) All the types of sushi were very well prepared. I was taking my friend out for AYCE sushi for a birthday lunch but our usual place ended up being closed for the day (and their quality is always great), so we did a quick search and found Maru nearby. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. There was maybe only one or two other tables there, but the food was very, very, very slow. We had to wait over 15 minutes just for the salad to come out, not to mention quite a bit more time for other things to get prepared. The quality of food is... okay. Nothing was bad, but I honestly wouldn't describe anything we ate as good either. The tempura was soft by the time it reached our table, which is pretty sad if you're eating in. My friend pointed out that a lot of the items we ordered didn't look like the photos. They gave us no masago on any of the rolls even though the pictures showed them. I ordered the unagi as one of my last items and I was shocked at what they gave. It was extremely tough, almost leather-like, which is not at all what unagi should be like. There's clearly no care or passion that goes into the food or service here. I don't expect a restaurant to go above and beyond to make customers happy, but they seem to just not care about anything. read more

Been dining at this joint for a few years even before the pandemic. The food was consistently fresh and de-lish. Service is fast but bring your patience because it gets pretty busy at times. We can never get enough of Maru. The sushi is SO GOOD!!! Love the firecracker roll, especially! Their all you can eat deal is very good, but since COVID we have been ordering take out. They have been offering 30% off takeout due to COVID, and I'm so glad they've been able to keep their business afloat, because they are hands down our go to sushi joint. We order from here at least every 2 weeks, probably. A wide selection of rolls that are simply delicious. We used to eat right at the counter, and the sushi chefs there are always so friendly and warm. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes it's hard to order over the phone, and several times after picking up our food and taking it home we've found that our order was messed up, but we still eat it every time any way and it's delicious. Maru sushi has such an irresistible deal for AYCE. My friends and i tried most of the rolls on the menu and some nigiri. My fav was salmon nigiri, salmon pieces were humongous and as soft as butter. They also offer rice-free, low carbs rolls such as summer roll, roly poly. Personally i prefer cucumber roll as the cucumber makes it very refreshing. I recommend baked rolls such as crawfish and salmon rolls. The only thing i didnt like about maru sushi was their eel sauce. My friends and i agree on the fact that the eel sauce was too sweet and the flavor was a bit off. A lot of their rolls had eel sauce on them and the flavor was kinda ruined by the sweetness. This will be my first and last time here, I was very specific about my order. Salmon skin HR, easy on the rice, on soy paper add avocado and no sauce. Low and behold they messed up. I had to call numerous times to get through to someone. Same guy who took my order answered the phone. He first told me to come back, when we just had a conversation saying I was on my lunch break, then he tells me they can refund me, uhhh I paid half in cash. I love love love this place!!! Everything is made fresh and the service is great! I've been to plenty of sushi bars...i consider myself a sushi lover...and this place by far is my go to sushi restaurant. I usually order crunch rolls, alaskan or rainbow rolls and they are delish :P I've even have my kids hooked on this place...they aren't fans of sushi but they are fans of their chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura. Oh and not to mention we LOVE their Miso soup. Interesting Google gives this place 4.3 stars whereas Yelp is 3.5. We choose the ayce option, which took quite sometime to receive anything. Oddly enough we're received the sushi brooke the appetizers we ordered. Heck we even got to a second round before they came out, the waiter apologized saying they were backed up but the restaurant was half empty and the app items were cold. The sushi rolls seemed to be rolled carelessly as they fell apart when we tried to pick them up. The waiters would take our order list then bring out half and cross the rest off 4 times we called them out on this.
