In & Out Salmon Roll and California Roll
    Vincent P.

I was craving for some take out sushi and found Masa Sushi Japan in Mountain View. The have a large selection of sushi rolls to choose from and they also serve poke bowls. I went with the In & Out Salmon Roll and California Roll. The rolls were delicious, portions were big, and the price was fair. If you're in Mountain View and want some take out sushi, check this spot out!

Best place i know for sushi lunch in Mountain view area. Thanks Masa Sushi team for great work keeping good prices and quality of food I'm getting takeout here each other week and it is always yum! fresh and generous portions, super fast service and great location. 5 stars

Fresh and tasty unagi rolls and tuna rolls made by a Japanese Chef/Owner. You can see the quality and thickness of the tuna. All three items for only $22 with taxes included.

They are still excellent with good prices, decent quality, and friendly service. You get what you pay for,so I keep coming back regularly. An extra star for their consistency. Recently, I've discovered that their hamachi belly, salmon belly, and ikura pieces are very delicious! I totally recommend trying them out.

First, the Food was amazing! It was very fresh, cheap, and relatively quick! Staff was super kind and very friendly that I felt like I was talking to an old friend Area was very clean and well organized, although it's small it's very spacious and nice!

Still my go to nigiri when I'm nearby. As I sat down with my order, a frequent customer walking in asked if my plate was a hidden special?!?! Sadly, no, just my a la carte order of nigiri. Masa Sushi, maybe have a bigger nigiri plate?

Amazing food! Love the no frills ambience and the option to order via iPad in store. Staff is super friendly and service is pretty fast. We were a little sad to see that they raised their prices, but understood as quality is unmatched.

Haven't had a good bowl of poke in a while, and this place hit the spot. The sushi is fresh and i like their variation of sauces. Their miso also much more than the broth unlike some other places, w an adequate proportion of tofu and seaweed to broth. The staff is very kind as well, and parking is usually available for an easy pull up for lunch or dinner. Highly recommend!

Masa Sushi is a great grab-and-go spot in the heart of downtown Mountain View. Despite the space not being the largest, the friendly staff always make me feel welcome. I usually come here to grab a poke bowl (reasonable for Bay Area prices) and love the selection of fish + toppings. I do wish some of the portions were a bit bigger (ie fish scoops) but other than that, I think the bowls are worth their value. Rolls are also fairly affordable and simple, and the fish is always fresh. If you're looking to order a bowl, though, you'll have to go in person since they don't have a poke bowl option on their online menu. Overall would highly recommend if you're looking for a quick bite in Mountain View!

Always fresh sushi. Quick service. A few tables inside and out, but I prefer taking it home.

Does this restaurant offer sushi with brown rice?

Yes we do offer brown rice!! It is $0.50 each per roll.

Is this the same Masa's that was on San Antonio Road?

Yes, they had to move. The new place is smaller and since it is closer to downtown parking is hard but not impossible

Our favorites: Eighty-Eight Roll and Kevin's Roll (premium rolls). Each roll has 10 pieces, bigger than usual. - Eighty-Eight Roll: loaded with crab, unagi, avocado, salmon, tuna, cucumber and topped with salmon, avocado, spicy tuna, tobiko, and pine nuts. This is their signature, a very light roll with minimal sauce so that you can focus on the natural flavors of fresh seafood. - Kevin's Roll: equally impressive, wonton crisps make it very unique. Roll was loaded with albacore, hamachi, shrimp, and radish, then top with salmon, avocado, pickled wasabi. We also enjoyed the Hamachi Shot, which had fresh hamachi, avocado, and a quail egg yolk served in a shot glass. Each bite has a rich and creamy taste. For special roll (8-piece), we got: - Ching Ching Roll: salmon, tuna, avocado, topped with crispy powder - Daruma Roll: inside (unagi, hamachi, crab, cucumber), topped with hamachi, avocado, jalapeno, tobiko Both were delicious and fresh as well! Service was quick, our food arrived super fast. We left completely satisfied and will definitely be back to try more items from the menu. Highly recommend if you're looking for fresh sushi in Mountain View!

I found good reviews for the Shrimp Tempura so we found this restaurant in a neighborhood area. We weren't sure because it looked small and among a tree-lined street and parking lot. No one was dining there but we gave it a chance. Decor was nice and it smelled & looked cleaned and disinfected. It's open seating so we found a seat by the window. I found some reasonable Weekday Lunch Specials so we ordered 2 entrees for $17 each. I ordered the grilled Saba Shioyaki Grilled Mackarel that came with a scoop of white rice, a bowl of Miso Soup and green salad with Miso dressing. My friend ordered the Shrimp Tempura that came with 6 pieces and the same sides. First came the soup and salad which were perfect and the soup wasn't salty. It was hot and flavorful and the salad was nice and cold. I think the lettuce was Iceberg Lettuce as it was a lighter green color. Our entrees hit the spot and gave a nice protein boost. I'd say maybe just 3 other sets of people came in but I could imagine after 5pm it gets busy. Our waitress was accommodating and efficient. Bathrooms were very clean too and neat. The service was super speedy, and the employees were really attentive. The general ambiance was relaxed and inviting. I was a huge fan of the dinner bento box. And the grilled mackerel had a delicious smoky flavor and tender texture. We tried a few specialty rolls as well, which were all excellent. I highly recommend the salmon roll, mexicali roll, and toro heaven roll. All were quite delicious, with plenty of flavor. I will note I have definitely tasted better quality fish, but the price point made sense for the fish we tried. I would definitely visit again - all the dishes we had were good!

I was really hoping this would be a *the* place to go to if I wanted to treat myself to omakase without needing to make a trip. At $290 pp, I felt like the menu is worth it for the ingredients but the chef wasn't always able to execute properly. The menu is quite interesting as you get some unique pieces like octopus mouth, but when we had it, it felt a bit chewy. But overall, the menu felt special and there were a lot of bites we enjoyed! Most omakases follow a usual rhythm, and I was definitely surprised here as some pieces were less predictable. We got the five sake sampler and all the sakes were very good! I wish it was more of a pairing style though. I think it would have elevated the experience more if the waiter had shared what kind of bites each sake goes well with. The atmosphere was beautiful and calming - it's what I would expect at an omakase. The service was good but there were times when the waitress collected my plates while I was mid-bite. Although this was my first omakase experience, I have had a handful of sushi dinners before, and this was the best (although a bit pricey). Each plate was a great bite, and there were more than enough plates. Perhaps most impressive of all was the support staff. They took care of everything I would normally expect (opening doors, refilling drinks, clearing plates), but they did so with such grace and consistency that I hardly noticed they were there at all. In my view, that alone added substantially to the overall experience.
