The interior looks great, service was quick and friendly, and the pizza crust was spectacular! My favorite pizza was the Gilda - it was unique, full of flavor and even the presentation was great. I will definitely return for more :)

Masullo is one of the less spoken about pizza giants of Sacramento. Been wanting to try them for a while bc it's been highly recommended by friends (and reddit) The quality, fresh, local ingredients that really shines through the food. We ordered: * Rosemary Bread ($8) + dipping oil ($2) - SO FLUFFY. Loved it. * Daily Pasta ($17?) - roasted eggplant, cherry tomatoes, garlic. At first I thought it was bland but it grew on me! * Rosanna - seasonal ($22) - I looooved this. The sweetness from the fresh peaches went so well with the saltiness of the mozzarella/pancetta * Eileen ($23) - a great savory pizza, the mushrooms make it real earthy - Prosecco ($12) - Cider ($7) Some people have called it bland, and if you're craving a thick slice of American pizza with ranch, then I can see why! But if you enjoy crispy crusts with the charred bubbles and the taste of fresh, cracked pepper, you'll love Masullo Server was nice and let us know there might be a bit of a lag with service because they were training someone, but we barely noticed! Food runners and servers were all helpful and friendly The restaurant is quite loud due to the industrial-style. I wouldn't necessarily call it a "fancy date night" restaurant but it's still amazing for dates! I would probably prefer to take a group of friends there

What a hidden gem in Land Park! We ordered the Elisa and the Paolo pizzas, and both were so delicious. I especially loved the Paolo pizza--the salami was perfect, and they served it with their version of chili oil that had just the right amount of spice. Adding that chili oil to the pizza really elevated the flavors. We also tried the arugula salad with fennel and lemon vinaigrette, and it was amazing. I've never had a lemon vinaigrette before, and it was so refreshing--the lemon ratio was spot on, giving brightness without being overwhelming. The fennel was balanced beautifully, adding flavor without overpowering the salad, and the roasted almond slices gave it a great crunch. The ambiance here is minimalist yet very nice, with a cozy, casual vibe. There are benches and tables, and they even have a private room that can seat around 15 people, which would be perfect for a dinner party. I really appreciated the little touches--real forks and cloth napkins--that made the dining experience feel special. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which made everything even better. Overall, Masulo is a true neighborhood gem, and I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area

The service and food was absolutely amazing. Our server Allison made the experience that much better. The ambiance was chill and laidback. My partner and I loved it. Great date night spot. Not too busy on a Friday night. We loved it.

Came here on a Saturday evening, and was seated right away. We started off with the Summer Burger salad which was flavorful with a briny creamy dressing. Next came the Lori pizza with red sauce base, sausage, oyster mushrooms, and chili Oil; the pizza has a heartiness to it with a pleasant mild spice. Our second pie was the Mustapha. Mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, shaved grana padano, and drizzled with olive oil. Great combination but I do wish there was more prosciutto, to balance out the bitterness from the arugula. Masullo is a fun neighborhood spot, serving up good pizza. Definitely plan on coming back and trying the other pizzas on the menu.

It's not your typical pizza place. It's so much better. Thin crust, quality ingredients and cooked to perfection in a wood fire oven. I have been eating here since the beginning and one thing that has never changed is how consistently perfect the food is every time. Not even during the pandemic when they were limited to take out only. All of the wait staff have always been kind and welcoming. Happy to chat about the menu, answer questions and offer guidance. The restaurant has grown over the years. Offering plenty of seating inside and a few tables outside as well. I love when the place is packed and you get to enjoy the bustle of local families and friends having a good time!

Great neighborhood spot, decently busy for a Friday night but we were seating pretty quickly. Everything we ordered was very fresh, great quality and super tasty. The sourdough rosemary bread came with with olive oil from a local business, and was pillowy and delicious. We ordered a 3 meat pizza and a pesto pizza, both of which were SO tasty. Chili oil, fresh pepper flakes, and grana padano cheese (actually real cheese in the shaker kept in the fridge). We finished dinner with a lemon posset dessert, served in a little mason jar. Super tasty and simple! Overall a great meal, we will definitely be back. Only downside is the open concept restaurant means it can get pretty loud inside, but not a huge deal.

Came here since we were craving pizza and wow we don't regret it one bit! Parked on the street and walked over. On a Friday night the location is on the busier side. We were seated right away. We ordered the white sauce pizza and the meat lovers pizza. There's salt, pepper and spicy oil on the table as well and wow I love that spicy oil! It is so good on the pizza! Could down the entire bottle. Both pizzas were very fresh and authentic. Our favorite was the white sauce pizza ! Definitely recommend this place to everyone if you're craving Italian pizza!

We love coming here! Pizza is so delicious and high quality. Crust is chefs kiss! Simple menu. Service is always nice. Depending on your appetite you can share a pizza or eat it all by yourself! Spacious restaurant. Love how you can see them making and baking the pizza in the brick oven! It's a treat to visit here.

Wood fire goodness. Just around the corner from home, the family and I have been meaning to try this place for a while but haven't had the chance to until a couple weeks ago. We've always heard great things about this place and after our first time there -- i can definitely agree with the reviews. As newbies we decided to get a trifecta of carbs, carbs and more carbs, none that we'd later regret. For starters we had the rosemary bread and dipping oil, it was about what you'd expect, the bread was moist and flavorful. The pizza itself was great, it was the right amount of everything promised -- don't forget to douse it in chili oil. The grand finale was the oatmeal ice cream sandwich with a nice hefty portion of Vic's ice cream in each bite it was a nice way to send us off. Overall, the food was great and delivered as promised. I will say that the prices are about what you'd expect for a downtown/midtown restaurant -- just comes with the territory. 4-stars it is, go give it a try!

    Elisa

The best pizza I have ever had in my life! We ordered the rosemary bread to start as an appetizer with the olive oil. Then had the Elisa and Margherita pizza for the main course along with the guava sour and siciliana blood orange soda. For the rosemary bread, we savored every bite and we tried to stop to save room for our stomachs for the main course but we couldn't help ourselves... Is it bad to say this beats the pizza I had in Italy? lol. I love the crust, the perfect crunch along with the layers of the sauce and toppings. Not an overwhelming amount of sauce, and the size of the crust was just right. The chewiness with the touch of crunch... just everything tasted fresh. You can tell they make it with so much love. Jeffrey our waiter was so friendly, funny, and attentive to our needs. We enjoyed his company and the candidness. He also let me know that you can host a party in their private room I'm not sure to the maximum capacity but it looked to be between 30-50 folks? So that's something that we will consider later on. So delicious! We had to go up to the pizza artisans to thank them personally. We will be back!

    Elisa pizza

I've been here a few times and have been very impressed with the quality of the food. It is super fresh and they offer seasonal items that are delicious. The quality of their pizza is consistent and you don't feel heavy after eating an entire pizza! We also love the Calabrian olive oil, it emulated a similar oil I had in Italy. The service was excellent, our waiter was very attentive and everyone is extremely friendly. The overall mood of the restaurant is chill and pleasant to be in. The pizza oven fire is great background and the ambiance is inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant for a nice evening!

Hi Katelyn--I'm so sorry we missed this question last year. Our corkage fee is $15.

But every time I visit Paesanos I get both of those things. On my most recent visit to the restaurant, I had the pleasure of being served by Clemens. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and helped me find the perfect meal(Fettucine Arrositi) to fit my current dietary restrictions. He also helped my grandma find something on the menu that wouldn't be too carb heavy since she is diabetic. He was pleasant all around, he was patient with my grandma all night and made me feel like he truly valued our time and didn't rush us. He is everything you want in a server-kind,direct,knowledgeable, and dependable. I would come back any time just to get customer service like that. Now on to the food, I had the Fettucine Arrositi which I believe is their signature dish. I have had it before but this time it was especially delicious. The sauce has a flavor like no other pasta I've ever had it's rich but not too rich creamy but not too creamy and the thing that sets it apart from other creamy pastas is the subtle Cajun flavor. It tastes a bit like old bay and Tabasco to me with some other amazing things in it I'm sure but it was delicious 9/10 My grandma likes to order a lot of things for the table because she never got to have that so she ordered a bunch of things for herself to try and for me to finish. We had the meatballs and they were fantastic but she felt they were too big haha 9/10. Then we had the calamari which was my favorite of the appetizers we ordered. I'm hoping next time to try the polenta fries. Then for her main course my grandma had the wedge salad which she loved but she did mention she wished it had lots more bacon and I can't blame because I too always want more bacon on things. All in all it was a great experience and I will be back very soon.

The dressing leaned acidic. Given personal preference, we did not hold that strongly against them, but it is worth noting for anyone who does not enjoy a sharp, mouth-puckering dressing on greens. The half roast pollo toscano was the biggest failure. It tasted old, dry, and lacked the easy-to-achieve magic that a good roast chicken can have. As a former chef, it had the texture of chicken cooked ahead and reheated for service. That technique can work, but it did not work here, or at least not on the night we ordered it. At $34, I do not expect unusual or stellar flavor combinations, but the protein needs to be cooked correctly. The nutmeg in the mashed potatoes was also a bit heavy-handed. I did not complain at the table because I do not like asking to be comped, especially in an industry as difficult as restaurants. But for the same reason, I would not feel right accepting a reduced check and then softening an honest review. I do not have anything against Il Fornaio, and I hope they improve, but this particular meal was disappointing.
