We seen this place on titkok and had to try it! We went on a Sunday, when they had just opened and ordered the big kahuna. It was so we could share & try a lot of the different items. It was all delicious and very fresh! The meats were all delicious and had great flavor, and the Mac salad was a big hit. The only negative would be that it was freezing in the dining room and the delivery of the food was alittle chaotic, but this is a new restaurant(grand opening) so I bet they will get that corrected and make it easier to get your order. Delivery order review so I won't be covering service or ambiance. Strictly about the food! Subjectively the most important. Now I have had matikis before at the Jones location and was satisfied with the food. Today's order came up short, unfortunately. Rib plate with 2 Mac 1 Rice arrived with the expected amount of meat to bone ratio. Anybody thinking they were getting plate ribs or short ribs is living in a dream. So no issues for me there. It's good eats. The rice missed the mark big time. The rice was super wet! Somebody is adding too much water to the rice. If you're into flavorless mush, this will be your jam. The mac salad lacked in flavor this go around. Bland would be a fair word to use. Had to season at home. These are very easy to fix and I hope this feedback is taken as constructive criticism. We absolutely loved this place, we ate at the restaurant and got the #1 Beef Rib plate and the ribs were amazing. The meat came right off the bone so nice and their soy/ teriyaki sauce was delicious on the ribs. We loved it so much, we had to order another one to go. Loved the Mac salad with potato pieces. I've been to this location, and even brought friends and family when they come into town. The staff are always friendly, and treat I'd like ohana. The ambiance isn't much, but that's not why you come here - it's for the food. Which leads me to my review. They are almost always out of the beef ribs and short ribs - my two favorite dishes. It's getting frustrating when you ask about these plates, and the staff tells you they're out. We came in just before 1:00pm. Please do a better job forecasting your food stocks, and make sure you don't run out anymore. This used to be my favorite location in town. If it doesn't get resolved, I'm going elsewhere. read more

I placed a catering order with the Eastern Location, and they were so helpful and friendly and was able to help me get my order done no problem. Rex and another gentleman I spoke with were very professional and kind. I initially contacted the Jones location which the employees were very quick to put me on hold and tell me no they don't have what I want to order and came off more frustrated that I wanted to place an order, and the Tropicana location doesn't even answer their phone at all. First time trying this place. I ordered through Uber eats and let's just say- there ordering options are not the best. I chose Mac and rice on both of my $20+ plates and was only given Mac salad. When I called to inform the staff, they said there was nothing they could do because their receipt only said Mac salad. I told her mine said Mac and rice. She said they have had this issue a couple of times before. She said if I came by they would remake my plates. Ma'am, I ordered uber because I don't have a car right now so how can I go again? Saw this place on line. Came a few weeks ago I ordered the beef ribs for me, and the short ribs for my wife. Pretty good! Good enough I wanted to try it again a few weeks later. What a mistake that was. I again ordered the beef ribs. This time they were over cooked and dry. But I also made the mistake of ordering the steak and chicken combo. Their portions are no joke. But this was the worst teriyaki steak I have ever had. It was beef jerky, thin, and almost as dry as beef jerky. After a few bites, we ended up throwing it away. Got their chicken and kalbi plate and it was awful. For $22 I got dry chicken (which is pretty hard to do with dark meat) and raw kalbi. I had ordered it on door dash and got 2 rice with a scoop of macaroni and added an extra scoop of macaroni. First I've never had potatoes in the macaroni salad it was like a filler. Taste wasn't good either! It's like the bbq the meat on grills that have never been cleaned. Seasoned grill is different from burnt grills from all the marinade. I had also asked for extra teriyaki sauce which they charge $0.50 for... it's literally water soy and sugar. It's so watered down! There was no sauce on the chicken or kalbi, but to charge for extra when it doesn't come with any and on top of it all, the rice and macaroni salad tasted like burnt bbq from the meat! Went to this place for the first time for the raving reviews and ordered the big kahuna. Got home opened it up and WTF this was $40! They skimp you on the meat the reviews have to be fake. What a damn scam I'm so disappointed and we drove like 30 mins for this. Called to let them know Shayla (I think the supervisor) had me send her photos then admitted that it does look like a lot less than advertised. Said we could get credit I was fine with that then changed her mind and said her manager said we took out the meat and we will get no refunds. Transferred to speak to the manager and omg she was so immature was arguing with me like a toddler and said she never said we took the meat out like Shayla had told me. She said when the food leaves the store they are not responsible ok that's fair if you are freaking being honest with the portions we wouldn't have an issue. Horrible experience visiting for the first time patron. If this is a Hawaiian Polynesian restaurant they should be playing Hawaiian Polynesian music and not rap music. The music was very loud with explicit vulgar lyrics and racial slurs. This was a very uncomfortable atmosphere. There was children in the restaurant with inappropriate music. The food menu was not friendly. I wanted the veggie and steak with veggies with onions. I was told no because they only use onions for the pig recipes not for the general menu. One of my family members ordered the beef ribs it looks like somebody ate them before we got to them because there was no meat on the bone just bones. The teriyaki sauce was watery. The waiter said they changed the ingredients. The chicken was dry and no flavor. This is a one-time and done patron not coming back the restaurant loses.
