Stopped by today because I got an ad on Instagram and decided to try this place out. Never seen or heard of Mattenga's until last week, but I'm glad I stopped by! Was able to snag up a nice meal for a good price using the promo code from their ad. Placing my order online was easy and our food came out in a timely manner. The cashier was very accommodating and helpful to us! I didn't get her name but she had colored hair and was very hospitable. She let us try their Mattenga's ranch as well as the jalapeño ranch and regular ranch. Plates were supplied to us and I enjoyed the presentation of the pizza. The pizza tasted good - however it wasn't something that was particularly special. Their garlic bread was very sizable and the ranch complimented them well. I liked that their Dr. Pepper tasted very sweet; perhaps it wasn't intentional but maybe the mix from the fountain drink dispenser was a little heavy on the syrup. It was very tasty though. As far as the restaurant's decor and vibe, it was pretty casual and easygoing. I liked the amount of sunlight that pours in through the large windows. I would definitely return in the future. Nice spot if you're tired of the same old fast food pizza. Great job at this location! read more

This has become one of my go-to spots in the neighborhood. I've ordered a few times now and the pizza is consistently on point. The 16" Texas Brisket Pizza is always solid -- great flavor and cooked just right. The wings have been good every time too -- crispy, well-seasoned, and a reliable add-on. Cannoli runs on the sweeter side, but overall this is a place I'm happy to support locally and keep coming back to when I want good pizza close to home. read more

I cannot say enough GOOD THINGS about Erin and the other employees so I'll just go right to the pizza and the establishment. The place was fabulous. We technically went to a different location but has since closed apparently. Which is a disappointment bc we were so very impressed and happy with our order. We did a late night DoorDash order to a hotel and everything came out hot flavorful and delicious. The pizza was phenomenal. Flavor, toppings, and crust hit the spot. The wings were a pleasant surprise. Flavor wasn't too sweet and the cook was perfect. Pizza rolls were only okay - honestly would just get a pizza. But the tater kegs were an interesting addition. First off all, the location I went to is just a little corner spot in a shopping strip center. From the outside, looks like a to go stop. Inside the building, nothing fancy with a few tables and you order at the counter but this is where your experience will change. They offer Stubborn craft sodas and the Vanilla creme is my favorite, it has a pleasant, not to sweet taste that lingers on your tongue and the only thing missing is a maraschino cherry to add a pop of color. Next, if you order a salad, the Greek salad is flavorful and the dressing is delicious, homemade I believe. The pretzels and beer cheese is super tasty with a cup of cheese sauce to dip in but don't fill up because the best part is on the way. Lastly, the pizza! Served piping hot on a metal tray or plate if you get the lunch special( these are awesome by the way). The crust is so good that I never eat the ends until Mattenga's....too good to leave anything. I have tried the meat lover's( molto meat), the Pothole pizza which is pothole sausage and the Pepperoni is my all time favorite. The pizza rolls are melt in your mouth delicious and ask for the Mattrnga ranch, your taste buds will thank you. If you like a kick to your ranch, try the Texas ranch, it has a little heat to it. Their boxes are cool as well, they have a body of a celebrity or sports figure and you can insert your face and post to Instagram with their tag. Be a sport. A solid 4 for me, but my family of girls give it a 3 for just okay. Here's why they're wrong. Mattenga is way better than a chain pizza place because of their menu, crust, toppings, and service. I'm thankful for the cashier who was patient with us as undecided first timers. He offered suggestions and took our order correctly. The dining area is small. If it's during a peak eating time, consider ordering ahead and to go. It was packed on Friday evening starting at 5:00. Food was brought out timely and when ready for each of us, not all at once. Not a big deal for us. I appreciate my chef coming out to confirm how I wanted it (I asked for no thousand island drizzle - she was bathed in flour but came out to confirm the sauce I wanted-2 thumbs up for quality assurance y'all). The wings were meaty, not salty, and sauced just right. I looked like a boy in kid seat with spaghetti face but didn't care. I'm not sure how I got sauce on my upper cheek. Just be sure your napkin container is full. I am going back here again without my dumb family because they have other pizzas I want to try like the Pothole. What is it about bad names that make food sound so alluring? Crap. Do I like bad boy food? Wait. Maybe I am a bad boy, in a Christian lead pizza joint. I love pizza and I feel like you can't really get pizza wrong. I do have my preference of thin crust cause I like mine crispy.. I typically like cheese pizza, but sometimes put a few toppings. My favorite is bell peppers. I ordered the pizza in store and it was ready within 15 minutes. They have plenty of toppings to add to your pizza. They also have specials and they have pizza per slice. I took my pizza to go. I did taste it fresh. It had Good flavor. It wasn't as crispy as I like it, but I also didn't spend time looking at the menu to see if I could make it thin crust . They do have seating inside the restaurant in case you want to eat there. The girl that rang me up was super nice. If you are taking your pizza to go, they do text you when your pizza is ready. NBD, but the guy told 5-10 minutes. 20 minutes later on go and try and get an update. Turns out it was ready and they didn't call my name. I was one of 5 people there the guy didn't bother to call my name or let me know that it was ready. My family and I tried this little pizza spot out after it was recommended by a friend. We went on a weekend when it wasn't busy and were served quickly. We ordered our kids a small pizza to share, and a large honey bexar for us to share (my husband added mushrooms so ignore the picture those aren't automatically on this pizza). The honey bexar was delicious!; my favorite combination of ingredients on pizza. I didn't notice until after I had a couple slices that the hot honey was missing. I brought it to the employees attention & they added the drizzle for me. My husband heard them say to each other "that happens all the time" .... whoops! It definitely was better with the hot honey, could've even used a little more. We enjoyed our pizzas, and the breadsticks too. My husband had the lemon pepper wings and said they were decent. i enjoyed the texas ranch with a nice little kick to it! I'm a regular customer. I'm originally from NJ and this is the closest pizza to back home! My favorite is their veggie supreme and I also get the original pepperoni pizza. I love their caprese salad and their pretzels with beer cheese! There might be a little of a wait but that's why I call ahead. Everyone is friendly and the place is clean. Let me start off by saying that the food was 4 stars but the service was at best 2 stars. I would recommend this location for carryout and not dine in. The restroom was dirty and had no toilet paper. Shift leader or manager was comfortably sitting in the dining room with her feet up on the bench seat and yelling out tasks to employees. We received the wrong calzone after halfway eating it and when the large salad came out with 1 fork the employee was puzzled why we needed a second fork and plates. Same employee that gave us the wrong calzone when we were the only customers in the dining room. I had to go up to the employee working the register that took our order 3 times to ask for items like drinks and condiments that we ordered. read more

I love Mattenga Pizza. It is the best pizza. I went on Halloween around 6pm. I notice they had 5 people working. Looks like they were working on pick up To Go Orders. I eat at the restaurant. I they gave me wrong pizza. Then I got my 16 inch pizza and it tasted little strange. Kind of bland flavor. I pulled up the cheese and no sauce. The only place I saw very little drop of sauce was on the edge of pizza. So I pulled cheese off othe other slices to see if they had pizza sauce. Nothing. I was upset. They were push-up all these pizzas with no sauce. The person next to me..no sauce. I told the teenager working. He said sorry. He did not offer to make new pizza. I was not even asking for new pizza. What surprised me is the worker was Not surprised either about the lack of sauce. They think they are smart tricking customers by making pizza with no sauce and because no one will notice because of the cheese and topping. P I S S P O O R Service. Keep it up and you will not have any customers. Sad to say. Looks like company ran out of Pizza Sauce. if RUN OUT OF INGREDIENTS need to replenish it if your going to run business. read more

From the get go, I was unimpressed. Walked up to order, they didn't have pesto for the Pest Chicken pizza. Had that in mind from looking at the menu before I even considered this place. Then ask for a drink...no cups. Wanted me to buy a bottle drink (no refills). Just brought my own water in. Pizza came out. It was ok, a bitter watery and couldn't even pick it up without it falling apart. So had to pull out the fork. Asked for parmesan for a 10' pizza and he hands me ONE. I asked for a couple more and started saying "we can't be giving these out like that" I was fed up by now and told him to just give me the damn packets. As some mentioned the center of the pie was a little floppy and couldn't hold the toppings - they do need to adjust their dough recipe and cook a little longer with crispy crust. First time here & was not disappointed. The guy at the register was very welcoming & made a few suggestions. We ended up ordering the 16" Pothole without Ricotta cheese. It was amazing & fed 3 of us perfectly with leftovers. We also ordered medium buffalo wings and the Tajín wings, the Tajín wings were delicious, definitely recommend.
