First off .... Forgive me for losing my pics. But I stopped here a couple weeks ago because I have seen a few rave reviews and since one of my favorite pizza places have retired we have been looking for another grand place to have in the books. We were first a bit confused about what to order since there is a greedy teen in the house. The half box with 8 slices ..we weren't sure how big the slices were gonna be, so we opted for a large pie. Well ....we could have gotten the half because the slices are HUGE Now everyone knows a great pizza is based on the flavor of the sauce and the proper distribution of cheese and ingredients. There has to be a good balance to keep the crust from being to hard or mushy as well the oven baking it evenly They prepared it just as requested! We actually ordered double cheese and pepperoni and they did great. The sauce was good. A bit sweeter than I like but still good. They prepared the order quick and were efficient upon pick up. Carrots & blue cheese in sealed packets, no celery to go along with your wings, staff wearing masks around their chins and wings done 20 minutes after the pizza. This said, the pizza was fantastic: cheesy, delicious sauce, mushrooms were substantial. You can get either a half or full sheet. The wings were tasty yet the chicken had an old flavor, not necessarily bad, simply not fresh. I grew up in the adjacent neighborhood and I was back visiting friends there who said everyone nearby raves about this place. I wouldn't rave positively and will bypass the wings next time but the pizza is a win! read more

I used to love their pizza and being in a walkable distance to where I live, I always went there for take out. We have done quite a few takeouts there recently and I am so sad that I should say the quality is not as usual anymore, and I am getting disappointed. Their pizza is becoming thicker,greasy, cheesier with less toppings and flavor. I am not a huge fan o thick and cheesy pizza but I loved their pizza for the taste, it is not there anymore and next time I will question my self if I will order from there or not. This is our neighborhood pizza shop and although we have been in the area for over 2 years now, we only tried this place for the first time last month. We ordered the 8 slice eggplant parmesan pizza. We made our own salad and with the piazza it was def enough food for my wife and me, including a leftovers lunch. The pizza was pretty good. The breaded eggplant was cut into small chunks and the sauce was more on the sweet side. Lots of cheese and the crust was classic Buffalo thick-ish but not spongy. I tried the pizza and also got a cheesesteak. The pizza slices were huge and are not typical NY thin crust. I did not care for the sauce as it was sweet rather than a robust tomato. It had plenty of cheese and the pepperoni was really flavorful and genuine not the large greasy crap most places use. The steak sandwich was legit and on.great bread. Plenty of tender meat and the lettuce, onion, etc were fresh. Their delivery service was as promised and the personnel were very courteous. Nice job Mattina's!!!! read more

Labor Day we had our last summer party. ordered a party pack. sheet pizza just cheese. bucket of wings, mild and bbq crispy and 12 plain chicken fingers we order from mattinas regularly. order was not ready on time, I waited for order to be complete. orders were coming in staffed kept getting orders confused including ours. they kept asking what my order had. I was not able to double check everything, since I had company at our house. hungry our company does not eat pepperoni which was all over the pizza I called them and spoke with a gentleman. he advised we could get another sheet now or have them credit one for our next order. since we had hungry kids I chose for the credit just to make things easier. today I called placing an order not just for the pizza but multiple things. they advised manage was unaware. and no notes were on that order i mention. today they lost a good customer who spent good with money with them. read more

They have great pizza, BUT some of their employees; mainly delivery people are negligent in knowing where orders are supposed to go. Plus, the owner.manager doesn't treat his customers properly & lacks the necessary skills to run his business. For pizza, this place is a solid 4 stars! The pizza is tasty and nicely crispy. The square shape allows for a perfect sauce to cheese to crust ratio. I feel like cheese pizzas generally have too much crust. I also think the pizzas are quite affordable for what you get. I will def be back for pizza. What's keeping this from 5 stars? Our chicken wings were overcooked and under sauced. Additionally, our chicken finger sub had a partially raw chicken finger. I bite into a chicken finger with a raw middle. We all aspire to be Matt Damon, we all imitate him to a certain degree. Driving at high speed around Parisian streets in a tiny little European car. A citroen was it? A renault? A mini? I forget. But yes. We all have a little bit of Matt in us. And some of us have actually had a bit of Matt in us before. Such as Ben Affleck for instance. Unfortunately not all of us have had Mattinas. And as much as we may enjoy Matt in us, I can honestly say that Mattinas is better than Matt in us. Trust me on this. Ask Ben Affleck. Ask Jennifer Garner. Ask J Lo. But don't be fooled by the rocks that she's got. She's still, she's still, Jenny from the block. And her block had a Mattina's on it for many years. And hence her million dollar behind. I wonder if she really has ever had Mattinass? If not, she should try it. It's delicious. Ben might get upset though. What to order: a slice of cheese and pepperoni. It's the second best in WNY, best in the Northtowns, and almost as good as Imperial. It's also enormous. Edit: I've been having some real issues with this pizza place. Their product is incredible but some of their employees are utterly awful. Is it really too much to ask, to heat up the slices of pizza that I'm buying from you? Do it happily, do it begrudgingly, but at least do it. I've now been "talked out of heating them up" by three different employees. One of them was friendly about it but so insistent that I gave up on it. One of them was less than friendly and rubbed me the wrong way. And one of them, because it wasn't for me and my friend wanted it hot, I forced the issue and insisted... and he still wouldn't do it. He actually got into a yelling match about it, telling me that it was fresh out, that their warmers are really hot, that it doesn't need to be heated up and nobody asks for it to be heated up. And guess what? It was lukewarm. It's almost always lukewarm actually. Which is *exactly why* I ask for it to be heated up. I will be going to see the manager asap and explaining what kind of crap I've gotten about this. And if that doesn't solve the issue, I'll have to stop going here, and lower my star rating, which would be a shame because the product is so incredible. Anyway. On with the review. What's the Mattina with you? Never tried good pizza? Come to Buffalo. We have some of the best pizza in the damn universe, and Mattina's here is one of the very best of the very best. In fact I would squarely (pun intended) put it in my top 5 slices in the region. And I do NOT say that lightly because Buffalo pizza is anything but light. It's heavy as hell and greasy as f***. And we love it that way and if you don't love it that way then GIT OUT OF MURCA. OK just kidding. But really, I don't say that lightly because we have some of the best pizza in the world here in Buffalo so to put a slice in the top 20 in the region is high praise. Top 10 means it's stratospherically good. Top 5, well... it's a bleeding must try to coin a British ish phrase. And let me tell you, the reason why "squarely" is a pun is because they are famous here for their "heart-shaped slices". First came Nirvana's Heart-Shaped Box and Chris Isaak's Heart-Shaped World, and now you have the Heart-Shaped Pizza by the Goo Goo Dolls, but written by Kirk Hammett of Mattinallica. The slice is very much like Imperial and perhaps a little like Franco's (which is literally square) and Blasdell. Imperial is the best in the region, but this place is a very good facsimile of it for the North-East towns. I know there are a couple of other Mattina's and I haven't tried them yet, but I will, so I can compare and contrast and see if they are as good as this location. But if you're in Clarence, Williamsville, East Amherst, Depew, then damn, this is the place for you. It's close by and it's incredible. Cheap, huge, amazing slices and everyone I know that's shared one with me has been blown away by how good it is. One thing though. Make sure you ask them to heat it up. It's absolutely vital to the future of mankind. It's just not as good if and when it's lukewarm. Trust me. So if you're Saudi Arabian or you're from a town north of Corfu (i.e. you're one of those Madinas/Medinas) then you need to come and try Mattina's. And as for everyone else, you do too. It really is that good. Come and check it out. And don't ever let Matt do it the rear way with you. It won't be enjoyable at all, I speak from experience. It's one thing to Mattina's Pizza and love it, but you will NOT love Mattinass. Not at all. Not even a little bit. In fact it's like the opposite of this pizza. Ouch. read more

A small local pizza joint by my work, affordable pizza and HUGE slices served. The location is small with only one outdoor table for seating, definitely more of an order out type of place. Good pizza! Standard Buffalo style with thick crust and little cuppy pepperoni. Definitely a perfect fix for impromptu pizza cravings (if you're anything like me, these can be immediate, debilitating and violent). I would definitely recommend! Especially if it's a nice day out, it was nice to take a seat outside and enjoy some za to get away from the office. read more

I ordered 1.5 pizzas and 30 wings on Wednesday November 25, 2020. We enjoyed the whole pizza and the wings. When we opened the half it was burnt. It looked like it was reheated. I called to get a credit for my purchased and offered to bring the pizza back. They kept me on hold for a long time then told me I could pick up another one or they could deliver it to me. I told them my dinner was over and I could return it to them. I brought it back and they would not give me credit. My family spends over $1,000 per year there. Good greasy spoon pizzeria. I had a half pepperoni and half cheese pizza and wings and did not realize how big their square-cut slices were until I opened the box. I ate pizza for 5 days afterward. Thick, fresh crust with just the right amount of chewiness was unchanged after 5 days of pizza. Lots of pepperoni (the little pepperonis, not the big sliced ones) were peppered all over half the pizza and the cheese was on nice and thick. I did daub the pizza with napkins at home to remove some of the grease from the top. The sauce was not on liberally nor scantly, but the flavor was seasoned so it wasn't spicy (ie. I had no heartburn afterwards.) Will return for a smaller pie next time. Wings weren't overly spicy but were breaded more than I would have liked. There is usually a coupon online or in one of those coupon packs mailed to your residence for deals. Make sure you bring it in with you or they won't acknowledge it. read more

Some of the best wings in town. Nice and large like Duffs, and really delicious. The drumsticks are huge and crispy. My favorite are the garlic parm and grilled bbq wings. Their pizza is also better than 99% of the other places in town. They have a nice sweet sauce and their dough is perfect taste and thickness. The pizzas are cooked to the most perfect crisp. They also have awesomely huge chicken fingers as well as some of the best (and largest) onion rings. Their subs are also above par for the area, both hot and cold Subs. I haven't tried anything here that wasn't good. As expected, this is our default/go to pizza spot. read more

Myself and my family LOVE'S Mattina's Pizzeria! We've been eating here for probably 25 years. Literally! The pizza is amazing. We love the seasoning, sauce and crusty edges. The wings are also amazing, but we get them extra crispy. I prefer the barbecue, but the medium are good too. OH! And the FRIED Ravioli!! So amazing! I've only had takeout pizza slices here so I can't comment on the other menu items. I normally don't like overly doughy pizzas but Mattina's, while doughy, seems to do a great job with this type of pizza. The pizza is similar to Bocce's/Imperial. Lots of dough, but the dough is airy enough that it is not oppressive. Lots of cheese and the quality of the toppings is top notch. Be warned not to even attempt to eat one of the slices in your car. The shape of the slices is triangular, but also irregular. You need two hands to handle the slice. One slice is enough to fill me up at lunch. Sauce is a little more on the sweet side than I prefer, but this is normally the case with this particular variation of Buffalo style pizza. Importantly, the slices I have had for lunch were always fresh. I get concerned when I see those glass heating enclosures, but I have never had an old, dried out slice at Mattina's. This is classic Buffalo pizza. Chewy crust, just the right amount of sauce with plenty of cheese and pepperoni. Def a grease pie but hell, that's what makes it so god damned good. The white pizza is my second choice and if I'm having people over, I'll splurge on the five cheese steak pizza. It's the most expensive pizza on the menu but it is worth every single cent. I like to ask for a crispy bottom. The crust is thick and chewy so this will give it a complimenting texture. Subs are amazing also. Chicken finger sub hot with (chunky) blue cheese is amazing. For the parm subs, chicken and sausage are my favorite. Anything with steak is great. The deluxe, peppers and onions and if you think you can handle it, the sausage and steak deluxe will put you in a comfortable food coma fast. That is if you can finish it. For the steak subs, add oil, which is really Italian dressing, it really adds a great kick. Wings are also great. They're hot is flavorful and just enough heat. The bbq wings are also to die for. Tossed in sauce, thrown on a grill and then tossed again, you can't go wrong. Buffalo has some awesome comfort food and I always go out of my way to order there (as much as humanly possible) when I come home. read more

Pizza, wings, and fingers are always good from this pizzeria. The pizza crust is thicker than what you might get at other places but the toppings and sauce are perfect. Highly recommend getting barbecue chicken fingers or a chicken finger sub from here. Ordering the wings and fries "crispy" is key when we order from here.
