Second visit went MUCH better. We skipped that dip I got before and we ordered off the lunch menu (super happy they have it not only weekdays but also Saturdays.) and I got the taco salad. Holy crap y'all....this salad could feed the Brady Bunch, or me if I skipped breakfast. I chose the orange vinaigrette which was weirdly fantastic. Wish they bottled it because I've never had anything like it. The salad itself was like a psycho ex: The more you dig, the more you find...but in a good way. Wish that psycho guy I dated had refried beans instead of felonies. Overall...that salad is going to need to file a restraining order to get me to stay away. read more

Do not recommend. Things started off well with the chips and salsa, but that's about it. We each ordered a top shelf happy hour margarita. Then I ordered the spinach quesadilla while my boyfriend ordered the chicken quesadilla. It looked delicious and tasted fine. The drinks tasted like juice and didn't sit right in our stomachs. I warmed my spinach quesadilla up the next day and it had me running to the toilet again. I'm not sure what was going on but I felt poisoned and will not be returning. read more

This is the closest location to my house and also my first experience here vs oaklawn for brunch. Ordered fajitas they were super tender and just delicious! My daughter ordered there kids burger which she did enjoy. This place does offer happy hour check out there website for details. Prices are not bad at all! It is busy during dinner time seems like folks like to come here and drink after work hospitals across from it and there bar isn't huge so there seated at tables. read more

Def not the best location to enjoy Martinez family cooking. We were seated quickly, and the drinks and queso were served quickly. The queso was very bland, and all margarita varieties were terrible (I tried them all). The bar mixes need to be replaced, and the bartender needs to be retrained. The food was OK, but perhaps a notch below normal Martinez standards. Parking is cramped, but the ambiance is OK. Go to Lakewood or Firewheel. read more

Mattito's remains what it's always been: A reliable place to get great food and drink at great prices. Despite staffing shortages, there was never a salsa or chip shortage on our table. My taco salad was the perfect lunch - even on a chilly day - and the husband loved his nachos. But the salsa and chips really stole the show. Spicy but not too spicy. Chips that were light and crispy but didn't crumble and break when dunked. I mean, it just doesn't get better than that. Plus the lunch pricing for all of this is very reasonabe! read more

So, I drive by the restaurant daily but never have a chance to stop for lunch. I was invited on Friday to join some coworkers for HH from 3-6p.m. Overall I will say that the drinks are very strong and delicious!!! The staff was very attentive to everything we ordered which were a bunch of drinks...lol WE HAD A LONG WORK WEEK!!! I didn't order any food off the menu as there was a mini appetizer bar with queso, mini quesadillas & chicken taquitos. By the time I made my way to the bar there wasn't much left. But the little bites of food I did taste was okay, nothing to brag about. Next time I will order from the menu, to have a full experience of what the menu has to offer. I had three margaritas, a complimentary queso with chips and salsa. I all honesty I came for the company of my coworkers and for the drink. I won't complain I spend $19.00 bucks for an enjoyable evening out. read more

First time visiting Mattitios on Forest since the pandemic began and I must say the quality of the food is fantastic! I was surprised it wasn't busier on Saturday evening, it could be the hot weather keeping folks inside. From the super freshly made salsa to the hot chips, we could have eaten just that, it had such good flavor! But we wanted to try their fish tacos, let me tell you, the blackened flavor is spot on and the spicy chilly sauce which I used to pour on the tacos is very delish! We also had to have the botanas platter, it's their sampler platter, it was freshly made, extremely filling, just good food like we remember. We couldn't eat it all at the restaurant, we took the leftovers home and yes, had lunch the next day! I didn't realize I placed a catering order for the wrong date. Called the restaurant wondering when our order was going to be delivered, and they didn't have me on the books (obviously). Mark, the catering guru, asked me what I had ordered and said if I could pick it up, he'd have it ready in 20 minutes. We love Mattitos and go every week. Tonight was a little weird. The food was awesome!! Azalea was awesome! The drinks were terrible. But that wasn't even what upset us. It was the bartender! I will NEVER order another drink there if he is behind the bar! He was rude, unapologetic and refused to remake the drink. Another bartender came up and remade the drink for us. The manager was very kind and brought new drinks. However, I'm in the food service industry and would never consider taking anything from this bartender! Our weekly bill just went down $50. read more
