The restaurant was very cute inside. We ordered calamari, fried lobster tail, Gouda Mac and cheese and a kids fried shrimp. The fried lobster and kids meal came with fries. All the fried food looked so delicious as you can see but lacked flavor. I feel like they need to season their breading, but I asked for some sauces and that made up for it. Sauces were not picture but one was their version of ranch which was green, and an orange Sriracha type of sauce. Def recommend bc it compensated for the food. My son didn't like the fried shrimp. I had been to Matt's Fish Camp before, so I went there for lunch as the place is solid. I had never had lunch there before and the waiter talked me into trying "The Big Matt," which is their version of McDonald's Big Mac. It wasn't cheap ($18 with shoestring fries) but man was it amazing. It even comes in a Big Mac type carton and the fries are similar to McDonald's except Matt's actually cooks theirs and they make them on-site. For dessert, I got the Honey Cornbread Cobbler since I had gotten it before and it was absolutely delicious. The difference was this time it only had warm blueberries for the fruit part, where last time it also had fresh cut peaches which were amazing. Still a fantastic dessert. My family and I had one of our best meals ever at Matt's Fish Camp during our beach vacation in Lewes. We started with the Crabby Fries: the fries were cooked perfectly and the "creamy crab & old bay fondue" served over the fries was incredibly tasty. Wanting more crab bits, we ordered the crab dip, which is served with chips; the crab dip was also delicious, and had the crab bits we were craving. Then, for our entrees, we had Shrimp and Grits (Castle Valley cheddar grits, Chrorizo, Creole butter sauce Tomato & Calabrian Chili Jam) - the BEST shrimp and grits EVER (plate-licking good) - and Crab Cakes. Both were extraordinary! The Crab Cakes were generously sized and had very, very, little filler. There is additional parking across the street (E Bayard St/Coastal Hwy) and it is clearly marked. There is a pedestrian crosswalk which allows a safe walk to the restaurant. Another amazing Delaware dining experience thanks to Matt's fish camp! My spicy margarita was very tasty and the sticky icky chicken wings were incredibly delicious we didn't want them to end! What an amazing find! My daughter had a lacrosse tournament in Lewes and Matt's was right down the road from the field. From the outside, I didn't expect too much from Matt's. Went during off season and it wasn't too crowded at nearly 5pm. Happy Hour specials are only good in the bar area. Servers were friendly. Tried the deviled eggs - yummy and recommended. Sticky wings were delish and recommended as well - very flavorful. Calamari sauce was great which helped the taste since alone they didn't have much seasoning in the batter. Friends tried and split the tossed salad - huge serving and the split the fish sticks full of large flaky fish. Fries were hot but not homemade - still good. I did not like nor recommend the shrimp and grits that were in a chorizo gravy. I have had and liked chorizo before but did NOT like this version (smoked perhaps). Our server was awesome and very attentive and the food was absolutely amazing. You really can't go wrong dining here. We were heading down to VA Beach on a busy Saturday afternoon. The traffic was backed up as it usually is on Rt. 1 around this time and day. Suddenly, my son notified me that he had to go to the bathroom badly! I pulled into the first strip mall I could find and Matt's was the only suitable place where we could go to complete this task. We went in, kindly asked if we could use the restroom, and they were more than happy to oblige. After he was finished, we walked out without patronizing this restaurant. Almost a month later, we decided to take a day trip to Lewes. I felt compelled to give them my business since they helped us out in our time of need. My wife, who is pretty difficult to please, immediately was impressed with the restaurant's decor. She described it as 'looking like a beach house'. Indoor the seating is booth style, which allows a certain measure of social distancing. You can also eat outside where it is 'pet-friendly'. The menu has lots of creative options. It's a little pricey, but having two kids and a decent kid's menu helped balance out the final bill. I ordered a cup of the New England Clam Chowder and the Crab Louie sandwich ($18) with fries ($2 upcharge over chips). The chowder had great flavor, but was a little salty. The Crab Louie is lump crab meat on a lobster roll bun with a sprinkling of Old Bay. Very good and the lump crab was very clean. The highlight was the Seafood Pasta ($28) that my wife ordered. Ample amounts and mussels, clams, jumbo shrimp, and large scallops with linguine in a tomato basil sauce (with a little kick). I wanted to finish her dish, and in fact, I did. The clam chowder has sherry in it that I enjoyed but my husband doesn't like the flavor. So if you are sensitive to sherry pass on the chowder, but I thought it was delicious.
