I found Matty's Salon on Yelp for a Brazilian wax. I was frantic because the place that I loved for waxing unexpectedly closed. Most Brazilian waxes run about $50 or more. Matty' s Salon charges $25.00. I had been paying $35.00 plus tip. Therefore, I wasn't expecting a spa. To my surprise, Matty was better than the place that I had patronized for the past 9 years. Matty makes me feel very relaxed and she's fast. I've been so happy with my experience that I now have my facials done by Matty. In addition, I no longer go to the pricey salons for my hair. I have had my hair cut and colored by all of the stylist at the salon. I agree with other reviews that Magdalena is not much of a conversationalist. I had a Balayage done by my previous hair stylist at a different salon for $225 on my long hair. I hated the look and the way my hair became frizzy and dry. Magda colored my hair, gave me a trim and a blow out. I was really happy with the results. Magda recommended that I get a Brazilian Blow out to assist with my crazy naturally curly hair. I finally decided to do the Brazilian Blowout last month. Magda wasn't available so I had Lorena do the Brazilian Blowout. I love my hair!!! I find that I no longer need to spend 20 minutes doing my hair after my morning runs. In short, Matty has a wonderful staff of professionals. Everyone is really nice here and the quality haircut you get for the price you pay is hard to match at any salon. The vibe is very cheerful and the people that come here seem to have been loyal customers for years. I've had three different stylist give me haircuts here and they have all been great. Shockingly this is the after photo of my appointment with cherry. I had gone to her once before and had a great experience but this time I walked out so disappointed and in shock. she reassured me that with some blue shampoo it would be fine. This picture is even after the blue shampoo she recommended. I honestly am so upset I even paid for this it looks so unprofessionally done the application and the color. Luckily the manager asked me to come in the next day for a no cost color correction with another stylist. All in all I am very disappointed with the service I received from cherry and the fact that she along with another stylist assured me that it looked great, to me this is not worth a 135$ color service plus the bottle of shampoo i had to go purchase along with the time spent having to come in the next day to fix the mess she made. Thankfully the color correction went alright, it's still not anything near what I had come in for but I appreciate the manager getting me help and my second stylist doing the best she could to fix it. read more

My first visit here I went in right when they opened, there was no wait, perfect. I asked my hairstylist, Luz if I should get front bangs. She recommended I didn't because of how thick my hair was, but I decided I would try it because I wanted something new. She did my shampoo, my cut and straightened it. I thought it looked pretty good for being $30. But she didn't cut my bangs short enough because the next week they were past my eyes again. On this visit I also got my eyebrows waxed and the lady that did them took her time and I appreciate that. Many times they will rush the eyebrow wax and it can ruin your entire complexion. I was satisfied my first visit here. Second visit though, I went back to Luz and I thought I made it clear that I wanted side bangs, but she just cut my front bangs again. I wasnt in the happiest state of mind following my grandmothers death and husbands deployment. But, this hair guru managed to cheer me up. I had no idea what I wanted aside from side bangs and a change in color. Upon entering the shop I was instantly greeted by "Aaron". He was friendly, honest, and seemed to genuinly enjoy being a stylist. I arrived with damaged, fried, split, and obviously in need of some root work. I left with healthy, vibrant, beautiful hair. I loved it!!!! I've never been big on going to the salon. More so because of my penny pinching ways. I've alway's figured why pay for something you can do yourself. I don't trust anyone with my brows except Matty, who also happens to be the owner of the salon! I have been coming to get my brows waxed with her for at least 5 years now and I am never disappointed! She was recommended to me by a coworker and now my friends always ask where I get my brows done and they normally go see her as soon as I tell them where I go. She has become like family and we always have a nice conversation while she does my brows. She has a room in the back where she does her waxing unlike other places my friends have told me they go to, so you have some privacy which is great. I would recommend this plce but only for eyebrow shaping/waxing which is done by the owner, Matty. She can be a little overbearing at times but her work is the best I've had and she'll shape them for a decent price. Other than this, I wouldn't really trust to get my hair done here, they have all new stylists after the majority of their old ones left them and opened up their own place. I came in after I got butchered at a local barber shop desperate to get my hair fixed. This was on a Wed afternoon and I was helped right away. Caro was not busy so she came to my aid. I showed her my picture of the haircut I wanted and she went to work. She shampooed my hair and gave me a nice cut. She rinsed again to wash off the loose hairs. I like places that do that so I will not have any hair stuck on my face or landing in my food. she gelled the hair and I was good to go. i miss going to places where they really take care of you. I 've been going to barber shops to save $. But since I was so unhappy with my last cut, I decided to give my hair some much needed attention.
