Stopped in for lunch here on a Tuesday 11/10/20. What drew me in were the pictures of the grilled fish which was what I was actually craving. I ordered the Seafood Salad($14.99). You have a choice of grilled fish (Mahi Mahi, Ono, or Ahi for $2.50 more) cooked in any style from Butter, Salt and Pepper, Blackened, South of the Border, Asian flair, Lemon Butter, and Cajun. Comes with 3 grilled shrimp and sits on top of mixed greens, sliced tomatoes, chopped mangoes, and sliced red bell peppers. You top it off with your choice of dressing(Mango Vinaigrette, Lilikoi Vinaigrette, Italian or Caesar). I chose Mahi Mahi Cajun style with Mango Vinaigrette dressing. The taste was exquisite. The telltale grill marks and Cajun spices on the fish were an indication of something really good. It got even better when I squeezed lemon juice and drizzled the Mango Vinaigrette dressing on top. Service was great. You order at the counter, pay, and then they give you a number to put on your table. They bring it out to you as soon as it is done cooking. In closing, I will definitely be coming back for there are a bunch more things on the menu that sound very appealing, mainly the fish tacos and the appetizers. Very good! They got our order a little wrong but that was on our part so I don't blame them. Food was yummy, the ahi was fresh. My partner had the 'Taco Mountain' which is what made this review 4 stars because the 'taco' part of it was a stretch since it was more like a salad than a taco. This place is great! I came for lunch and got the new poke bowl because I love poke and raw fish in general. With the current pandemic, the staff is very on-top of cleaning tables after guests are finished and tables are spread out. I ordered the spicy version of the poke bowl since a little kick never hurt anyone, and it was balanced out well with the pickled onions and ginger. The mango was a nice touch too, adding that bit of sweetness there. The poke itself was a pretty generous portion, made me feel like I was back on Oahu. There is a poke appetizer with taro chips on the menu, but I think the poke bowl had more fish than the app, and only a $1 more. Highly recommend! We went to the Art show today and the ladies wanted to go here for a late lunch. I was skeptical since I am not a lover of fish. I figured I could get a burger if worse came to worse. Ha! So this place is an actual HI restaurant located in Maui and now AZ. This location is moving soon to a tad further down the street. The location decor is attractive and the staff were very lovely, kind, and helpful. I settled on the Macadamia Nut Mahi-Mahi dish with Coconut milk Cole Slaw. I was flabbergasted that I ordered a fish dish but when in Rome and all. Right? The meal was delish! I was pleasantly surprised that I could eat it. Since it is a lighter fish and with the breading and sauce it had a mild fish and a sweet taste that I enjoyed very much. The staff member was spot on with her recommendation for me when she heard I did not like a fishy fish. Everyone else in our party loved their meals. Tacos were ordered both veggie and fish and devoured promptly by the ladies. It seemed the highlight of the order ravings was for the seafood salad. Also, the french fries were pretty tasty. Visits here are consistently good. Service is friendly and fast, the food is always delicious! On our last visit we had the coconut shrimp (a favorite) and hot soup (it was a little chilly out, at least for Arizona). I ordered the coconut water drink which was good, but I still say they need to serve fresh coconut water (many other places in the valley do, so why not here?). I see recently one of the Coconuts restaurant's opened in Los Angeles and they have pineapple upside down cake with ice cream. Wonder when we are getting that here? One of my favorite places to stop when I'm in Scottsdale. And I love this new location. It is so cute! Ocean on the floor and huge sea turtle on the wall. The people are really nice. The fish tacos were amazing as usual. They give you two so I usually take the second home for later. My husband usually gets the steak or fish tacos. He decided to try the seafood Alfredo. He almost didn't since it was pricey. But he was pleasantly surprised at how good it was and how huge the plate was! They were tasty and well fried. The calamari was a joke - we had expected fried rings of squid and curly squid legs but when we opened the box we were shocked. For $8.99, there were a few pieces of very dark looking, dog poo-sized fingers and despite appearance we tasted it and it's nothing like calamari.. it's like they blended squid meat with flour and shape the batter into fingers then breaded and fried. They came out all wrong, the look, the taste... The Fish and Chips were also a disappointment. The two pieces of fish were tough and seemed over fried. The chips weren't anything special. If I were to do this again - which I highly doubt, I would order two portions of the coconut shrimp and that would have been better.. read more

Since we were in Maui not too long ago, we thought about going to that location too so that we could say we did but we opted out. My two go-to orders are the fish tacos and the macadamia nut Mahi Mahi. Last night, we ordered takeout and I had the tacos. The tacos come with their coleslaw on top with some sort of mango salsa. The fish in the tacos are a combo of Mahi Mahi and Ono. There is also cheese that is melted on the tortilla. Each taco has two tortillas to hold together the massive amount of filling. Quite honestly, it is the messiest taco you will ever eat but it's worth it. Just grab a fork to eat the other half of the taco that fell out. There's 2 tacos in each order. If you are dining in, they come on separate plates so it's great for sharing. My fiance decided to go with the fish and chips. His last lunch in Maui was fish and chips and they were mighty delicious so he was craving them. These were too! It was nice that they included packets of malt vinegar - also came with a side of coleslaw, ketchup and tartar sauce. Always great service when we are there and always great food. read more

We originally found Coconut's during vacation in Maui years ago - I thought I was seeing a mirage when I started working in Scottsdale and found this location, but it's true! Coconut's is a small chain with only a few locations, and 2 of them are in the Phoenix area. It's almost unfair that I can enjoy incredible fish tacos without the trip to Maui (although I'm sure I can come up with another excuse to go). We've stopped in here a couple times during the lunch hour - it gets busy, but not crazy. Regardless of what time you come in, you'll be able to get a seat, but if you're bringing a group, try to get in by 11:45 am. They've got their famous fish tacos (2 for $11), which are enormous spreads of grilled fish filets on corn tortillas, covered in an amazing mango salsa. Steak tacos are similar, and equally great. There are also classics like Fish & Chips, or healthier plates like salmon, rice, and veggies. This is a great place to bring seafood-curious kids, too - surfboards and pictures of the beach adorn the place, and servers throw around "shakas" like currency. As much as possible, Coconut's brings some Aloha to the sweltering heat of North Scottsdale. This location already has top billing in our lunch rotation. We'll be back! :-) read more

Had their fish tacos and have to say they were pretty average. Was not the biggest fan of the quality of the vegetables with the fish tacos. Really crunchy and kind of made the taco hard to eat.
