I finished it for her of course, because she always remembers to leave room for desert and never finishes anything. And I'm glad because I always get to taste her meals too. It's a win-win for me! We never had Brussels sprouts that good, it must be the sherry vinagrette and cotija cheese. Unreal. I had a side of shishito peppers that made my heart happy. It is a dark purple colored slice of heaven with masa crumble, Yuzu espuma and coconut jam. The presentation was stunning. We even enjoyed espresso with sambucca to finish our dining experience. Drinks (4/5): Ocean Prime has a nice happy hour that ends at 6 p.m. on weekdays on both drinks and food. On my most recent visit, I had a $5 Heineken (there are several other options). There are also discounts on wine and select cocktails. Food (4/5): I went big on my last visit. There are a good number of appetizers on their happy hour and I started with two: the jumbo shrimp cocktail and the High Street roll. The shrimp cocktail is served with some dry ice which makes for an awesome visual aspect to the dish. Four large shrimp, chilled, in a bed of cocktail sauce. You can't really mess this one up. The High Street roll has tempura shrimp, cream cheese, scallions, and beef carpaccio. A+ for creativity. From there, I had the 8 ounce Piedmontese steak which was a first. It's an expensive steak, similar to wagyu in terms of quality. It's a matter of preference. Piedmontese is a lean, high-protein steak which wagyu is ultra-rich and buttery. It did taste different from any steak I've ever had in my life, but in a good way. Medium rare, of course. I ordered a twice baked potato a la carte for my side. Not certain I liked the plastic cups and mini wooden ladle, but the flavors were there. Lobster bisque was a bit thick for my taste, but my better half thought it was great. Flavor was rich and satisfying. Last, the lobster and shrimp roll was too deconstructed. The lobster was dumped on top of an uncut croissant. You couldn't really eat it like a roll unless you scraped off the meat, picked up the damp croissant, cut it and then restuffed the lobster and shrimp inside. Too dang much work. While the flavor was good, this is not something I would order again unless they were willing to split in in the kitchen and turn it into a proper lobster and shrimp roll. They offered to make something else on the house, but at this point we were all almost done with our food so he ended up with nothing. They did try to make it right, I'll give them that, but it was a weird experience. We decided to give the restaurant one last try for my mom's birthday over the weekend and it solidified our opinions on this place. First of all, it's EXPENSIVE. I get it's Scottsdale but they are trying way too hard with $80 ribeyes and $1500 bottles of wine, but not giving you anything for it.
