i went for an inspection & they failed me. they told me i needed brakes. i went to a ma & pa shop and they passed me. they said my brakes had 25% life left which could last up to 10,000 miles. mavis failed me then pushed a sale on me to buy their services. i will never go here & do not recommend they are scammers ! read more

I had a good experience with this tire shop. Just get there before it opens so you'll be the first to get in and get your car serviced! I strongly suggest that you get there around 6;30 AM before customer's start lining up their cars in hopes to be there first before they open at I believe 7:50 AM. The employees are very pleasant & professional! The black store manger ( I think his name starts with an M or a D) is a very pleasant, polite, extremely professional & business-like at all times! Very attentive & accommodating to customer service needs!! The only complaint I have is it took weeks to get my new tires that were delivered to Mavis Tires in 3-4 days & I was told they would call as soon as they came so I could come get them put on my car. They never called and after two weeks I called them and was told they were delivered 2 weeks ago & sat there too long (w/o me ever knowing) & claiming a mandatory.rule req.d those wheels to be returned to the manf. if not picked up or put on car w/in 2-3 days. Mind u they were paid for in full!! Once I inquired about where they were after 2 weeks of hearing nothing... it was almost thanksgiving so no deliveries delayed 2wks more wks.b4 I got them installed on my car! I was a little nervous to go to this location after reading the reviews, but the location was too convenient to not at least try. I had a really positive experience myself. I called ahead of time about removing a pretty huge nail from my tire (thanks, Buffalo roads!) and patching it up, and the guy on the phone was pleasant and told me it would be $38.04 and would take about an hour and a half, given that that's their normal turnaround when they have other customers. I asked about making an appointment online to reserve ahead of time and he explained that making online appointments doesn't really do anything to put you at the front of the line. I figured, oh well, hopefully it just takes the hour and a half then. I arrived up at 3:30 and they were all working on different cars. I showed the gentleman at the desk a picture of the nail, gave some info (address, email, phone number), and had someone pick me up. Car was done within the hour, and at checkout it was $38.04 like he told me at the start, which I thought was a great price for the repair and peace of mind! All that said, I have nothing but nice things to say about this location, at least in terms of the specific nail removal repair I had done. **MAVIS RUINED MY ENGINE** I went to Mavis for an oil change and started experiencing issues - rough idling, ticking, leaking oil. Went back and they said it was only a half quart over in oil, but that the oil change service was not to blame. They assured me I was safe to drive the car. I knew something wasn't right, so I took it to another mechanic. They found 3 quarts overfilled oil in my car and said it was very dirty! They advised that my engine was likely damaged from the overfilled oil. I had a dealership confirm that the engine is damaged - nearly $3000 in damages and diagnostics. Obvious damage that Mavis would have clearly seen during the initial oil change if this was a pre-existing issue. Mavis Regional Manager and Corporate refuse to take any accountability or offer resolution. Corporate told me on a recorded line that they don't trust the footage and incident reports of their staff, but then turned around a couple days later and said they wouldn't review my claim or the corresponding evidence. I asked a Corporate supervisor to review that recorded call with me, because I could not understand how they could say that but then disregard my claim. He confirmed it was recorded, but refused to review it. Mavis told me twice that the car was safe to drive. The dealership and other mechanic shop advised it's extremely dangerous for me to drive it because the engine could fail. Great example of how Mavis truly does not care about the safety of their costumers. Anything to not sign a loss form. Corporate refused to review the footage of the oil change, which the Regional Manager claims shows a proper oil change, but no one at corporate will confirm. How is that right? What is the point of offering a claim with corporate if they refuse to help? The manager asked if I wanted to see footage of them changing the oil and I said I'm not a mechanic. How do I know if it's right? That should be evaluated by their corporate office to mediate - at the very least! It's truly sad that a business can cause this kind of a loss to costumer with little to no investigation by a third party. It's their word against yours. Don't risk going to this place! read more

My daughter took her car in for an oil change, the vehicle started to shake and leak oil immediately after picking it up. She took it back and they told her nothing is wrong. Another shop told her the oil was never changed they just dumped new stuff in it was overfilled by 3 quart. Due to damage done the vehicle is not safe to driver despite what Corey the regional manager has said. The regional manager has done nothing to compensate the almost 5000 dollars worth of damage and has done nothing but lie in relation to this incident. I made an inspection online for August 30, 2024 for 4pm and when I arrived at 355pm the Manager Daniel was very rude and told me they don't take online appointment's and don't have time to do Inspection. When I said I made an online appointment he said that does not mean anything and just because it says there is a 4pm appointment available it does not mean anything. He then said even if he had time it could take 3 hours and if my car fails he will rip off my current inspection sticker. He was very rude and negative and rebutted every time I would talk. I then said I have been going to Mavis for like 13 years and spent thousands and thousands of dollars and a loyal customer and been here since Perry was a Manager and he said I should not mention Perry as he is not a guy I would say helped him in past. I dropped off my 2019 Rogue to have the brakes changed. Guy calls me convinced it needed new rotors too so they charged me like $600 to mess everything up further. Wouldn't listen to me (probably because I'm female) and when I got it back it still made the noise. I told him multiple times it was rear, they "fixed" the front. I sold my car and the new owner called to warn me how bad of a job was done and to make sure my family and I do not take our repair needs there in the future. read more

About a month ago we made an appointment at 11 AM to get our brakes done, we already had the brakes and the rotors, we bought from AutoZone we just needed them put on etc... The day of the appointment somebody at the shop told us that we should expect to have the car their all day, and should find a ride home (instead of waiting the 20 minutes it takes to swap out breaks at the time we had the scheduled appointment??) I still don't understand that, what's the point of an appointment time.... But what I don't understand the most, is the reason why my fiancé dropped off the car, I called him an Uber home, and at 5 o'clock we got a phone call saying that "the breaks don't need to be done-you have a months use left". So then I called ANOTHER $20 Uber for him to go get the car-that had not be worked on at all even though they had it for 6 hours. But here's the thing- I didn't ask you for your opinion on if they needed to be done, no. We just asked you to get them done. You don't get to have our car for seven hours, and then tell us that they don't need to be done just because you failed to get to them... ESPECIALLY when the car says "service brake check" right on the sensor AND as the owner of the vehicle, I know they haven't been replaced in 2 years. So if I schedule an appointment to get them done-and drop my car off all day, then they should be done, no if's ands or buts. None of that makes sense. And as a business owner I would be really embarrassed. If anything-if you overbooked yourself, maybe just reschedule us for another day? Or just don't overbook yourself. Because Lord knows I didn't pay $40 for Uber that day, just to not get my brakes done because your employees have poor time management skills. Or that they feel "they don't need to be done" Now we're on a vacation 10 hours away from home, and our brake light comes on, starts blinking and beeping on the highway going 70 mph, in a city that is foreign to us, and we have to try and find a place on vacation to get them done a day before we're suppose to go home. Which is the whole reason I was trying to get them done, before we left... Just absolutely so disappointing. Edit: got the breaks done in time to head home tomorrow-they were rusted to the core. Two places wouldn't change my rear wiper because of liability incase the motor gets broke. I didn't even need the whole arm replaced, just the blade. I stopped in to ask if they would, and Jeff walked right out to my car and replaced it with the new blade I bought, in less than 5 mins. I came in to get my tires checked when my low tire pressure light came on. I was a little nervous bcuz in the past other auto service shops would try to upsell me. My tires just ended up just needing air. I was grateful for the honesty of not needing any additional service and there was no charge. NEVER GO HERE. EVER. I have been at this shop twice in the past two months and both times my car has come out with brand new issues it's never had before. My last experience was for an inspection, I showed up, they told me they couldn't take me at the time (I had a scheduled appointment), and I came back the next day. I went in with old brakes and rotors and no other issues. I got those replaced but also came out my transmission issues. I discovered my engine harness had been mangled and entirely nearly cut in half. I could never prove that issue was caused by then but I wasn't having issues relating to this before my inspection. My frame is also rusting out and nearly rotted through and they said nothing. I will never ever go back there. read more

I don't really know what to say about this place, coming in I was severely overdue for four new tires and after a phone call from my father, offering aid in their purchase I came here. Now I've been browsing their website for a month or so, looking at the prices for different tire grades and specials. I have to say that I am impressed that on a whim, showing up there midday on a Saturday they were able to get me in for 4 new tires without any wait or hassle and I may have been there only around an hour and a half. The staff was friendly enough, I did not feel intimidated or hassled or upsold at all, in fact they were not pushy about tires being purchased at all which was nice. The only item they did recommend was their tire guarantee service which I ended up buying because of the minimal price. If I need tires again I would consider coming back here, the prices seem to be fair and the service was fast enough. read more

I am a 3 time customer and so far, this location has always been accommodating. My visit today was due to needing new breaks on my two front tires. I also let them know that I previously failed an inspection at another place due to my breaks not passing. The associate said that they would wave my inspection fee which I felt was exceptionally great service especially because I did not even fail my inspection at a Mavis location. My second observation is that every time I walk in to this place for service, I am ALWAYS fit in to get service right away. PISS POOR Customer Servicer at this location!!!! Ordered a tire a few days prior, put a $25 deposit down over the phone via credit card and was told it would be in that upcoming Saturday and was given an appt time of 12 noon with Jeff, I even called the day of to confirm the tire would be there and was told it would be by 11:30am after Jeff tracked their warehouse van and again Jeff confirmed my 12pm appt time.....I show up to my appt and was told I had to wait 1.5 hours to 2 hours to get 1 SINGLE TIRE replaced!!! I explained I had an appt and was told "sorry we're really busy and all our appts come with a 1.5 to 2 hours wait " by another individual with a rat tail, so basically having an appt doesn't mean a damn thing!! Had they told me that from the beginning I would have gotten dropped off, but they didn't because their excuse is a bunch of nonsense! Thankfully the Mavis on Niagara Falls blvd were kind enough and professional to get me in right away and taken care of! I had an issue with one of my tires and I went to the bother of removing where it was parked since AAA sucks and makes you wait like 3 hours to do anything and I have their best membership level. Anyway back to Mavis so I bring the tire to them and there were several people in the waiting room but all "socially distanced" with masks such good obedient girls and boys OMG FU*KING GOD WHAT A WORLD ! So I approach the counter without a mask and the guy freaks and says sir you need a mask and I replied no I need to be 6 feet away from you well he insisted so I got one and returned in moments. I bitched about what a liberal socialist he's was being , it was uncalled for just was having a crap day and was taking it out on him. I was a real dick that day. So I return home to wait on their call to give a go ahead to pick up the tire. They didn't call so I called them after about 2 hours I figured that should be enough time and it was . I entered this time masked up not to piss off the manager again. So he's says here's your tire sir and no charge , I was flabbergasted that after our initial meeting he was so generous to not charge me . He made my day on such a shitty start to that day. I had work done in this buffalo location 10/18 and once I moved to cherry hill nj I had to go to the local Mavis here to have some of the same work redone. This location is unprofessional and their service technicians have no idea what's going on. As well as the manager because he wrote up the Mavis receipts wrong both on paper and in the system. DO NOT PURCHASE TRIES FROM HERE. I had my tires replaced in April 2020 from here. I work from home currently and have not been driving often in the last 2 years. I took my car into a different mechanic this week and was told the tires were bald and needed to be replaced. I explained the tires are not even 2 years old and I barely drive to which the mechanic said these tires look like they have been on an well driven car for 4 years. He asked If I bought used tires to which I responded not to my knowledge, I paid full price for brand new Cooper tires. What a disaster this place is. I will just give you the "Readers Digest" version. When they put the wrong brand of tire on my car I thought maybe it was a sales gimmick to get our business. Funny thing is we asked for a premium tire and never asked the price. But, they mistakenly gave me the cheep'o special. They were surprised when I wasn't thrilled to save 30 bucks apiece. Four trips to the shop later I realized that they were so incompetent they put different air pressures in all four tires ranging from 23 lbs to 49 lbs. read more

1) Had brakes done in Summer of 2018. 2) Feb 19, some squealing noise. Took it back in. I was told that the brakes had been done horribly..."all messed up." They denied that they had done the work, said they would charge me. I took it in to showed them the receipt. They attempted to do the repairs. I talked to the Region manager, who seemed unconcerned 3) Feb 19: the same squealing noise still happens. I took it to a different Mavis location down the road. They fix THAT noise, saying it was the backing plate. 4) May 2019: squealing noise again. Took it in to the original location. Explained it was the calipers needed to be cleaned and adjusted. They'd have to charge me. I asked why I'd have to pay as it should still be covered. "Oh, yeah...we'll take care of that for you then." 5) Different squealing noise, same area. Called Corporate to talk to whomever I could. Was told I'd get a call on Monday. It's Thursday. Called back and was connected to the manager from a different region. Hopefully he'll be able to help? Oh, and the slow-leak tire they allegedly repaired in February still has a slow leak. Maybe a coincidence...? read more

Takes forever even when you have an appointment. They are the kings of hidden charges. I used to go here for all my issues, but the last straw was when they charged me to patch a tire, it blew out within the same week, and then they tried to sneak a warranty charge on the new tire. I agree with others that the service was good and they seem to know what they're doing. Unfortunately, the gentleman who sold me my tires lied to my face when he told me the tires were made in America. The tire itself clearly states it was made in China. As you may know, the safety and quality standards applied to Chinese tires do not match those of American/European-made tires, and boy does it show. Mavis generally has great deals and a wide selection of tires. I did have to special order Blizzak winter tires for my jeep, but the price was still good and it was 60 degrees in December. They made a mistake with my all season tires but worked diligently to correct it in a timely manner. read more

I visited this location once before and had exceptional service. I came back this time looking to spend some money on tires and brakes and came across "Joe Cool." This "manager" cared more about his ego than making the sale. When I asked about purchasing tires and brakes, he said that it would have to wait until tomorrow because they were short staffed and the last mechanic was leaving for the day. It was 3 hours before they were set to close. Strike one. Strike two; I asked to just purchase the tires now and come back at another time for the brakes. "No, just come in and do it all tomorrow." I then asked for a quote, and his response was, "what size are your tires?" I responded I didn't know off hand, but listed off the year make and model of the vehicle whilst eying his computer and wondering if he could be bothered to look it up. NOPE! "That means nothing to me," was his response. At this point I gave up and said never mind. I can't get the service or the quote, I will just go to my regular mechanic. His response: HAVE FUN! Strike 3...I turned around and said aren't you supposed to be a mechanic? And yet you have no tools to help you identify my cars tire size? He says "I'm a mechanic of 15 years. I build race cars. I could bring your car up to 1000 HP, how about that? I said yea but you can't close a done deal on tires and brakes. What happened to the old manager who was here? That guy knew how to treat customers. "I'm his replacement" was the smug response. And to that, I say and I mean when I say, is very unfortunate. So if you're looking to turn your 4 cyl sedan into a nascar, this is definitely the place for you.
