The sandwich had no spring mix, two bacon crumbles per quarter and a little wad of chicken on each with a little melted cheese and condiments. We used to enjoy McAlisters but today reminded me why I haven't been in a while. I could understand if the place was packed out and they ran out of food, but there were maybe 4 tables seated at best. Finally...3:00 pm lunch after a day of doctor appointments! McAlister's seemed to be the best choice. Hubby ordered the McAlister's Club w/ Potato Salad and an extra side of Mac & Cheese. I ordered the Pick Two: 1/2 French Dip Sandwich (w/ a side of horseradish) and 1/2 Spud Max (minus the ham and turkey and with extra black olives). Evidently there was some confusion on our ordering. He didn't get the Mac & cheese so we had to ask for that. I didn't realize until the server left that I didn't get the horseradish and there were NO black olives on my potato. I could have asked for those but I decided to let it go and just enjoy my meal. The food was good and I love their lemonade. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating. Unfortunately, my visit did not end on a good note. A visit to the bathroom had me visiting all the stalls. The first toilet evidently had overflowed because I was stepping in water. The second toilet had a lot of toilet paper in it. I didn't flush it for fear it would also overflow. The third stall was clean but sadly I didn't discover that there was no toilet paper until after I sat down. (Thankfully my mother taught me to be prepared and I dug a tissue out of my purse,) Because I am such a fan of McAlister's, I will probably give them another chance in the future. My oldest son is in college and called me four times this morning asking how to prepare a Reuben sandwich. I suppose that got into my head and all I could think about was "what's for lunch?" and the answer, of course, was a Reuben sandwich. Now, where to go? McAlister's has a decent Reuben, especially considering other nearby options (Jersey Mike's is good, but a Reuben, cm'on man!). I do love my Reuben and usually with corned beef and every so often substituting coleslaw for the sauerkraut, which I always called a Rachel. They don't do that here. At McAlister's, the Rachel is basically a Turkey Reuben. It still has all the Reuben ingredients except the corned beef part. I'm thinking "Wierd!" when my Turkey Reuben arrived at the table instead of a Rachel (or what I thought was a Rachel). Further research, also known as wasting time on Google, reveals that there is legit claim for the Turkey Reuben to just be called a Rachel. Other places, if one orders a Rachel, they will then ask, "corned beef or turkey?" So this may turn into a great food debate because the latter group seems to take for granted that the distinctive is the sauerkraut vs the coleslaw between a Reuben and a Rachel whilst the other crowd is all about the meat...like McAlister's. Bottom line, the sandwich was hot, the turkey was shaved and tender, the flavor satisfied my craving and I got up and went to look at their menu and (for McAlister's at least) I stand corrected. But in my book, a Rachel is a Reuben with coleslaw substituted for the sauerkraut and that is the extent of the differences. Open the debate! read more

This has got to be the worst mcalisters i've visited. employees are too busy conversing rather than paying attention to customers. My order had been ready for over 20 mins while i was waiting. I told them my name and they claimed it wasn't ready. 20 mins later i walk back up and they pull the order that was there when i originally walked in. probably won't be back because of the customer service. read more

Not only was he rude, after asking my side choice, "what side?", I asked for options, he stepped back and pointed at the menu board. Then dropped his arm and stood in front of the register. I wondered why we had not ate at McAllister's , it seems there are a few reasons . 1. Cashiers not friendly 2. Cashiers have no idea what's in the soup 3. The lettuce and tomato should have been trashed , not put on a sandwich. 4. Although they were not busy they had 3 cashiers and we waited and waited . Now the positive 1. The soups were very good. 2. I ordered for delivery to be sent to a relative. 1 potato and potato soup. I specifically typed in message for delivery driver to knock on door and WAIT for someone to answer. The driver was with GrubHub. Delivery was supposed to be between 12:30 & 12:45 pm. At 12:37pm my relative opened the front door and saw that the bag of food was delivered to the edge of the porch, about 10 feet from the door. Apparently, am animal had gotten to the bag and food and trash was strewn all over porch, handicapped ramp and in the yard. I called GrubHub and they took no responsibility and hid behind "our drivers are contract workers and we have no control" answer. I then called McAlister's and explained the situation. The store manager escalated this complaint immediately to the regional director. The regional director was so professional and extremely accommodation. He refunded my purchase but put in a new order. He personally delivered the order to my elderly relative AND cleaned up the mess that occurred with first delivery! I have frequented this store since it was built over 20 years. This is a ray of sunshine in a very difficult time in this industry‼ Thank you McAlister's Deli for going above and beyond to fix a problem that wasn't caused by them. I have never really liked McAlister's, but my wife and co-workers took me there yesterday. My expectations were to throw my meal away and grab drive through on the way back to the office. I was however pleasantly surprised. I had the Club sandwich and Mac and Cheese. The sandwich was not terrible. The Tea was pretty good. The Mac and Cheese tasted like it came from the frozen section at Costco, but it was still ok. Bottom line, you have to eat, and if your friends insist on going here, take comfort in the fact that it does not suck nearly as much as it used to. read more

The food can be pretty good. Unfortunately it's rarely prepared properly. For example, they are forever forgetting to put cheese on the veggie club. It looks so pathetic, I don't understand why they can't see that something is wrong before bringing it out that way. Also, the Savannah Chopped Salad is delicious when prepared properly, but they often forget ingredients, or serve it with balsamic dressing instead of the sherry shallot dressing it's supposed to have. The other day my friend got this salad and it was missing nearly everything except the romaine. How does that happen? To make it worse, I got the same salad that day and mine was awesome. We were on the same ticket, sitting together, and they couldn't see that one salad had nothing on it? They just don't look at the food before they serve it. I agree with previous reviewers who said the potato toppings are skimpy. I like most of the sandwiches, but portions are very unreliable.
