Another good McDonald's and in a great location, easy in and easy out. I had placed an order through the mobile app and had some issues. We joke that this area is a black hole because the internet is always awful around there. The app kept erroring out and said my order wasn't able to go through. At first I said forget it, I didn't need the dang Boo Bucket anyhow! But I was waiting for my coffee at Starbuck's and received an email notification that McDonald's had received my order. I went back and walked in and explained what had happened. The manager was super nice and scrolled through their orders and confirmed they did indeed receive it (telling you the app can be atrocious at times). My order was freshly made and exactly how I asked for it. Plenty of seating inside and they even have a play area still for the kiddos. Honestly so disappointed. Every time I come to this McDonald's, something is wrong with my order. Items are constantly missing and it feels like no one is double-checking before handing it out. On top of that, the workers come off as rude and unbothered when you bring an issue to their attention. Fast food is already rushed, I get that, but a little attentiveness and basic customer service would go a long way. WORST MCDONALDS LOCATION.... EVER!!! I took my daughter here after her first day of school Another simple order... just ordered one single happy meal with BBQ sauce. Nobody else in the drive-through line. Looked like nobody was in the parking lot. So pretty slow day. Hopefully they get this order right Pulled around to the window to get my food. I asked the lady in the window for 2 BBQ sauces. She responded that she needs to charge me for those because they don't give extra sauces. I explained to her that every single time we come here they forget to give us sauce even when I ask for EXTRA sauce. She responded with " OK, just this one time we will give it to you for free. But next time you're going to have to pay for it". I looked at her and said " I will not take these 2 extra BBQ sauces if you can guarantee me that you put a BBQ sauce in her happy meal box. She looked at me weird and said " I can't guarantee something like that" LOL! WHAT!? You can't guarantee me that you put the BBQ sauce that I asked for in her happy meal box? I only have one item that I ordered, how can you mess that up? She begrudgingly gave me ONE BBQ sauce... good compromise... I guess? So we got home and take a wild guess what they forgot? THE FREAKIN BBQ SAUCE! So let me get this straight. She was going to charge me for the extra BBQ sauce that she couldn't guarantee that was in my box, that was actually never in the box, but she was going to still charge me for something that she was supposed to give for free, but never gave? This place is an absolute joke and a disgrace to the Scripps Ranch community. They constantly forget items and you can barely hear the folks in drive through. Two incorrect take out orders in last few months.

Do not go to this McDonald's location. I went to this McDonald's (first time) and I was like ordering at the kiosk with my parents and I saw like a guy keep telling the lady at front counter that they forgot a bunch of stuff and they were like "oh uh you speak Spanish?". Most importantly though this is America and they need to speak English even though yes I do speak Spanish it's Just not gonna be helpful for other customers to order here. This place was also like really loud and dirty they do not clean the tables so I suggest don't sit down until they cleaned. They also brought random sauces and do not get me started on the ice cream they did + I ordered two double French fry boxes on my happy meal but I only got one and an apple bag which I did not order. The ice cream was all messed up and was already melting the lady said "oh sorry" and just handed the ice cream cone without even trying to fix it or make a new one. However this time I had trouble adding the free fries to my online order to deliver to my table so needed help at the counter (which the cashier managed to do) but when my 2 orders were (eventually) called, the fries, nuggets & burgers were all COLD! I had them replace the fries because the kids didn't mind their chicken nuggets & hamburgers being on the cool side... Then when I came back from the restroom there was a fly sitting in my food - eeewh. Close your eyes and think of their French fries ... see, you just salivated a little because your mouth remembers. Now, see how there's two stars here? That extra star is because they (eventually) gave me food that was standard issue McDonald's food. It didn't hurt me (which considering that they actually did hurt people last week is actually saying something). Now, on to the experience of the late-2024 era McDonald's on Scripps Poway Parkway. Please join me as I navigate the process of a simple to-go order. I agreed to supply two large orders of fries and 40 McNuggets as a contribution to the collective food experience that came along with watching several episodes of TV with friends. I used the McDonald's app in advance of my arrival to summon said potatoes and chicken bits. I specified that would pick up said food in the lobby, thus sparing anyone the run out to my car. Easy so far. Several minutes later, I was notified that the food was ready. So I head into the clown food establishment and look for any sign of said food. No food was available for pickup. This was despite my phone and now the monitor inside assuring me my sack of salty pomme frites et poulet mort was done. Thankfully there were no less than four people working behind the counter. And they were willing to lend a hand. Except they totally were not and instead they just looked at me with silent disapproval like I had just Kool-aide-manned into the clown cottage and interrupted their toddler's nap time. The silent treatment. I've been here before. I'm an older guy who has made questionable relationship choices in the distant past. So I know this game and I can play it. But reader, these men and women are champions and I am now realizing I'm an amateur. After being completely ignored for five minutes, I asked for help. This request was met with one person flagging another person who then looked at me like I had just thrown up all over Grimace and was winding up another mouthful to share with Mayor McCheese. Did she say anything in response? No. Back to ignoring me like I had spent all weekend drinking while the baby had the flu. All the while ... the electronic world insists that my food is cooked and somewhere in this clown hole. A few more minutes pass with silence and stink eye from the crew. Surely they are plotting ways to turn me into the very breaded nuggets that I so shamefully love. Finally, at after an interminable period of passive-aggression, Ms. Stink Eye slides open a tray of fried beaks and snouts, throws three of them into a box that already had seven, then tops off a sack of food that was waiting behind the counter with my number on it, enjoying the heat lamp much like I enjoy the sunshine in Kauai. The missing piece to complete my order, which was already complete but not complete enough I suppose. I'm then wordlessly shoved the sacks on oil, tubers and animals and send wordlessly on my way. Lest this look like a gripe season (and it is) here's some helpful feedback for the establishment: 1 - Say hello to people in your business 2 - Ask why a person in your establishment happens to be in your establishment 3 - If the product or service you render is not available, tell said person and offer an estimate as to when said product or service will be available While I have gone into excruciating detail here, note this is just the most recent exercise when using this particular location. It's pretty much like this each time. So I guess I'm partially to blame for returning after this happened once or twice already. I blame the fries. read more

First visit at this location. This is an older McDonalds but they have an indoor play area for the kids. All Spanish speaking crew, which to me is a good sign. Restaurant workers from Mexico/South America are vital to the restaurant industry and are almost always amazing workers. I did a curbside order once and was out there for like 30 minutes another car showed up next to me and as soon as they arrived they brought out food out together and ours was extremely cold. It's unusual to write a review on a fast food restaurant, but this is solely on the customer service they provided on a busy Friday after school. The restaurant was packed and the drive through had a big line, you could tell all the staff were working hard. I got a repeat toy, and my child wanted a specific toy that was a part of their promotion collectible toys. I went inside to see if I could switch with one toy, and they did. I waited until they were not as busy, and they made my daughter's day. Shout out to all the staff at this McDonald restaurant. I ordered a Double Quarter Pounder meal in the drive through. The individual taking my order was quite kind, and payment was smooth. When I got to Window 2, I was told to drive to the waiting space even though I was the only car in line at that time. I'm not blaming that on the staff or location because I suspect it is some type of analytics thing. They need to have good times in terms of how long cars were in line, and if the line is empty, you will obviously be sitting at the window longer than when there are several cars and they have time to make your order. I didn't want to wait for the extra minute or more for them to bring my food out - I wanted hot food so I just went inside and waited. The woman inside was very kind and my food was ready immediately. I'm not knocking the rating down because they were very polite and gave me my food quickly. And it's not their fault management is making people wait to look good on times, but I don't like it. Call me old fashioned, but I think that the following metrics should be paramount: Taste, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction. Throw the window times out that window please. read more

This McDonalds is situated in the Vons Shopping Center off Scripps Poway Parkway. The restaurant is clean and bright, which deserves a solid 4 stars. Their service and staff efficiency was also satisfactory. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. It was fine with no complaints. The remodeled store is a welcomed look and the new drive thru has two order stations like many of the newer restaurants. This is also a welcomed addition to help make the line go faster. I would not recommend this drive thru with big pick up trucks or SUVs because the turn is very tight to get in, especially during a U turn. The drive thru is a little bit smaller than normal. For cars, its great! Overall, our McDonalds experience here was fine and the food was satisfactory. Their grilled chicken sandwiches could still use some improvements. Don't feel pressured to move out of the window because there is a line behind you. You will be much more frustrated if you find out your kid's hamburger is missing when you are already home. I only order online. For some reason the app only let's me order from this location even though I'm closer to the Mira Mesa location. My issue is they will make mistakes on your order about 60% of the time. I order the same thing every time but am often disappointed. I always get a bacon double quarter pounder with only ketchup meal with sweet tea. 2nd time I ordered their wax paper on the patties. Full sheets and only discovered after I took a bite. Called the store about that and they said that you can only complain to to UberEats who the McDonald's app uses for delivery. Didn't really seem interested in apologizing or acting shocked that it was a rare event. UberEats super helpful and refunded my money. Next time I ordered it was only a single patty. Just went to UberEats again to complain and they refunded my money. Recurring issues with these orders are forgetting the bacon, unsweetened tea instead of the sweet tea I always order, not only ketchup. Other annoying things are forgetting the straw or fries half empty which I don't complain about. One good thing is that the fries are usually fresh and cooked to the right time even though they are never salted which is annoying. I don't know how they stay in business if they are replacing 60% of their orders. It is good when the order is right but the errors show weak management oversight. read more

I'm no Karen but this is ridiculous. I pulled up here at like 10PM because my wife is hungry and I wanted to bring home food for her and me. I order 2 plain chicken sandwiches and a quarter pounder with a large sprite. They got EVERY item wrong despite me being the only person in line. They fix it and get all 4 wrong AGAIN. I get home to discover we all got the wrong food and even if it was right, it was stale, cold and stiff. The sprite wasn't carbonated in any way and tasted watered down. The chicken sandwiches were tough as hell to bite through and tasted a day old. My wife's quarter pounder ended up a Big Mac with no Mac Sauce and even that was crusty garbage. No one greets you when you come in even though there were numerous staff members, including the lead or manager, standing around. It took more than 5 minutes for someone to look at you and ask for your order. My order was very simple: 2 filet-O-fish and 2 apple pies. But I still had to wait for awhile. By the time my order was ready, the counter person call me over and said that they ran out of apple pies. There should be no excuse for not having apple pies available. I can't even give them a star. I am so irritated with them right now. I ordered a hamburger kids meal and a large chocolate shake. After my order was handed to me, I turned around and almost hit a small kid. Chocolate shake spilled on the floor. Manager (Michelle? They don't wear name tags, so I had to ask her) looked at me and didn't even check to see if there's anything she can do. Continued to setvice the drive thru. When I asked her if I could get another one, she said no, and she said I had to pay since it wasn't their fault. I explained to her that I understood that its not their fault and that it was an accident. My client uses EBT and can only afford to do so, and to be charged another would not help at all. We go here 2-3x a week because my patient likes their chocolate shake. Some of the cashiers know exactly what we order when we come here.
