This latest visit reminded me why I haven't been to McDonald's in years. No one greets you when you come in even though there were numerous staff members, including the lead or manager, standing around. It took more than 5 minutes for someone to look at you and ask for your order. My order was very simple: 2 filet-O-fish and 2 apple pies. But I still had to wait for awhile. By the time my order was ready, the counter person call me over and said that they ran out of apple pies. There should be no excuse for not having apple pies available. These pies are pre-made and should be planned out and available throughout the day. read more

I only order online. For some reason the app only let's me order from this location even though I'm closer to the Mira Mesa location. My issue is they will make mistakes on your order about 60% of the time. I order the same thing every time but am often disappointed. I always get a bacon double quarter pounder with only ketchup meal with sweet tea. 2nd time I ordered their wax paper on the patties. Full sheets and only discovered after I took a bite. Called the store about that and they said that you can only complain to to UberEats who the McDonald's app uses for delivery. Didn't really seem interested in apologizing or acting shocked that it was a rare event. UberEats super helpful and refunded my money. Next time I ordered it was only a single patty. Just went to UberEats again to complain and they refunded my money. Recurring issues with these orders are forgetting the bacon, unsweetened tea instead of the sweet tea I always order, not only ketchup. Other annoying things are forgetting the straw or fries half empty which I don't complain about. One good thing is that the fries are usually fresh and cooked to the right time even though they are never salted which is annoying. I don't know how they stay in business if they are replacing 60% of their orders. It is good when the order is right but the errors show weak management oversight. read more

I'm no Karen but this is ridiculous. I pulled up here at like 10PM because my wife is hungry and I wanted to bring home food for her and me. I order 2 plain chicken sandwiches and a quarter pounder with a large sprite. They got EVERY item wrong despite me being the only person in line. They fix it and get all 4 wrong AGAIN. I get home to discover we all got the wrong food and even if it was right, it was stale, cold and stiff. The sprite wasn't carbonated in any way and tasted watered down. The chicken sandwiches were tough as hell to bite through and tasted a day old. My wife's quarter pounder ended up a Big Mac with no Mac Sauce and even that was crusty garbage. We stopped by since we wanted to grab a snack. No wait for the drive-thru... YAY! But then again, it was 930pm... I ordered a 4pc chicken nuggets meal since I was craving nuggets and fries. My happy meal box came with a barbie figurine, which I gave to my niece. What I like about ordering happy meals is that you get a taste of everything, and I'm happy. I get the sweet and sour sauce with my nuggets, a handful of fries, diet coke and apple slices. Ta-dah, I'm full! Something inside of me told me to check for my sweet and sour sauce, and luckily I did, because they forgot to give it to me! GRRRR... Fiancee to the rescue... I can't even give them a star. I am so irritated with them right now. I ordered a hamburger kids meal and a large chocolate shake. After my order was handed to me, I turned around and almost hit a small kid. Chocolate shake spilled on the floor. Manager (Michelle? They don't wear name tags, so I had to ask her) looked at me and didn't even check to see if there's anything she can do. Continued to setvice the drive thru. When I asked her if I could get another one, she said no, and she said I had to pay since it wasn't their fault. I explained to her that I understood that its not their fault and that it was an accident. My client uses EBT and can only afford to do so, and to be charged another would not help at all. We go here 2-3x a week because my patient likes their chocolate shake. Some of the cashiers know exactly what we order when we come here. This McDonald's is not 24 hours, this is the biggest issue here. The parking is shared with other business. The driveways to get in are not steep. Parking spaces are decent size. The inside is clean, it's usually clean. The play area is clean as well. It's a bit louder in there due to the kids but not a problem when eating in dining room. There are a few tables outside. The food is the same as any McDonald. It's fast food, nothing too special here. They do serve the McRib when it becomes available. The customer service is good, they get to you as soon as they can. There are times that it gets busy but customer still is good. Overall good place to get McDonald's when you have a crying. Only drawback is that it isn't 24 hours. read more

Poorly staffed. Manager shouldn't be working at McDonald's. I ordered a Diet Coke and a hashbrown. I used my reward points for the hashbrown. When driving through she explained that she could only give me the drink (not the hashbrown). My phone app clearly showed the hashbrown on the order. The playground was recently renovated and it's pretty amazing. There is a tot area for kids three years and under and another for 4-12 year olds. The seating area is wide open and there are also two interactive tables with lights. An employee gave my kids some stickers. I would recommend this McDonald's location for its awesome indoor playground and friendly staff. read more

Plus sometimes through the app you can score free Fries also or even a Soft Serve Cone Ice Cream !! Who does not love Ice Cream !! Let me give you the skinny on this place. The franchisee for this location is cheap. The ice cream machine has been broke so often during the past two years that we play a game before we get to the drive thru: will the machine be broke or will it be working? For a particular two week stretch last year, those who chose broke would be the winner. On top of the broken machines, the service has been atrocious over the years. Indifferent at best and downright rude at its worst. I believe that McDonald's corporate finally got enough complaints about this place that a team was sent out to troubleshoot the entire restaurant. Things have improved dramatically since September 2013. But it still isn't great. It's just ok. The jack in the box in the same parking lot provides superior customer service. McDonald's could learn a thing or two from them. Still, I only go to this place because it's so conveniently located. Otherwise, I would avoid this spot. The food is fine. It's McDonald's. Every McDonald's I've ever been to has figured out how to make a sausage burrito without cheese. But for some reason this one only has premade burritos so they all have cheese. You can't get something without cheese. I'm assuming there's only one guy that comes in early in the morning, makes a shit ton of whatever is on the menu then taps out for the day. Whatever Steve made is what you get. No one else can figure out the grill so don't expect any special orders. If you have a food allergy or are lactose intolerant, don't go to this McDonald's because only Steve, the Great Grill Master can make food and he won't customize. Good thing there's 20 McDonald's in every city and every other one can figure out special orders. Time to train the folks at this one to work a grill. read more

Yup, I eat and enjoy fast food and yup, I am Yelping about this McDonald's...big shocker! My fiancé and I often visit McDonald's on Scripps Poway Parkway and order food from the drive-thru. Location-wise, it is close to Arco for gas, BOA and Wells Fargo for cash, Vons for groceries and easy access to the I-15 freeway ramp. Just a quick drive down the hill, this particular McDonald's is most convenient for us. Our orders always come out piping hot and fast food delicious. Very rarely they might miss something we ordered. For instance, we were on the way to Palm Springs early one morning and decided to grab a quick breakfast to-go. We ordered 2 extra hash browns but only realized on the road that they gave us one less. The very next day, we came back and the manager on duty (this was on Sunday, 06/26/16 around 1pm) was diligent and not only gave us the hash brown we had ordered, but also included a free large fries. If you have ever worked in the service business, you will understand that mistakes happen, especially for drive-thrus when you only have a few minutes to multitask and deliver. For the low price we pay (it is slightly more expensive in Asia!), I enjoy the food and new items that McDonald's provides since a kid and I continue to do so as an adult! And I will be standing in line for new Minion toys no matter how old I am =) The iconic golden arches continues to spread around the world. read more

Surprisingly, McDonalds is the ONLY reliable place I have consistently gotten my order right at. I go to this location often at least 2 times a week because my kids love the smoothies and they are so quick. They are always accommodating and even have mixed the strawberry and pineapple smoothies for my son before. I will qualify this by saying that I usually only consume the coffees, my kids will eat the food and smoothies, but nobody ever complains. After many visits with our children, I felt this McDonald's is due for a 5-star review. We visit frequently for a quick grab and each and every time we are greeted with the utmost kindness. Tasha is a joy to speak to, she's one of those people that brings a smile to your face when she speaks. It has a playground inside (old, but clean for the most part) but that isn't an incentive for me to come here. The service here is pretty bad. The manager is seriously one of the unfriendliest people I've met in recent years. Never smiles and seems to barely tolerate your presence. The workers are just as bad. The Scripps Ranch McD is better than others nearby simply because it has the best (perhaps only) indoor playground for kids. Sure, I wish the playground was cleaner and the video games were operational but I can't complain because there's no better substitute and it's free entertainment. Birthday party planners beware . . . everything in this McDonald's is run down, broken, or totally disgusting. The food is your basic, franchised McDonald's food. The dining area is definitely tiny compared to most other Mickey D's, but I think they try to make more room in the indoor playground area. Bring your sani-wipes and Clorox wipes. It is wayyy disgusting in that playground area. Also, the games are mostly broken and haven't been repaired in who knows when. There's a place for the kids to take off their shoes and climb up the slide, but I'd be scared to find out what's at the top of that slide. Last time we were there, some kid yelled out that someone left a whole cheeseburger smushed inside. BUT, they do have free WiFi for their Cafe McDonald's.
