Not sure what all the bad reviews are about. This is a standard McDonalds. I've stopped here on the way home after I've had to work late and I know exactly what I'm going to get. The food is consistent every time. The burgers and nuggets are always a go to item. The folks that work there know there job and they do their best to get me through the drive through asap. I ordered 2 egg mcmuffins, a hash brown, and a big breakfast with muffin and hot cakes on the mobile app. 20 minutes later we went to drive through. But when we got to the window, the staff member told us to wait at the #2 parking space because the egg was still apparently not ready. We waited in our car for at least 5 minutes when finally a staff member came out gave us our order. The hash brown and big breakfast tasted good, but it was not hot. One of the mcmuffins were good, but when I tried the other one, I was shocked to realize that there were multiple pieces of egg shell in the egg. Recently McDonald's has been advertising on TV about their new, improved burgers. This piqued my curiosity. Was this an admission that their burgers were sub-par all these years? I thought it was worth a visit to see if they really did make improvements to their line of burgers. The following review is limited to the "Quarter Pounder w/Cheese, only. I don't go to McDonalds on a regular basis but when I do, this is the sandwich that I order. It's the burger I am most familiar with in the past. Here's what their recent press release states: "I'll always remember my first burger from McDonald's. And now my culinary team and I have the best job in the world: thinking about ways to bring even more of that iconic McDonald's taste to fans," said Chef Chad Schafer, Senior Director of Culinary Innovation, McDonald's USA. "We found that small changes, like tweaking our process to get hotter, meltier cheese and adjusting our grill settings for a better sear, added up to a big difference in making our burgers more flavorful than ever." Here's my experience with the new, improved 1/4 Pounder with Cheese. The individual changes are relatively minor on this sandwich but as an aggregate, they do combine to result in a better burger! Now, however, it's being made slightly differently: The onions are added to the burger patties on the grill, and the finished burger features more sauce. In between each tier, there is a generous slathering of sauce, more pickles, real melted cheese which oozes out of the sides of the 1/4 Pounder w/Cheese! This burger is now messier than before. This McDonald's is solid and consistent. They did recently upgrade their drive thru to have two machines now. I like that you can see your order on the screen when you're ordering. When you get to the pay window, the credit card machine is pushed out so it's easy to pay even in a small car. They are pretty quick and efficient and only once did I have to wait in a spot for them to bring my order over. Workers are nice. read more

When eating at McDonalds, I only expect a few things...consistent food, cleanliness and safety. I would say this location is improving. San Ramon is generally safe suburb, so no concerns here. The interior McCafe has been remodeled with more modern design. They highlight is the play area for toddlers and younger kids with climbing structures, games and some video screens. My younger one loves it. There is also a sitting area in the back away from the play area which is a nice escape if you are just looking for a quiet meal. Back to the consistency of the food... it's hit or miss, sometimes a sloppily put together burger, sometimes they get it right (still tastes like McDonalds). The drinks and fries are pretty good though and a good value compared to the Starbucks nearby. It works out well if you are cost conscious. The tables could use more frequent cleaning, but overall it's not too overcrowded and a pleasant weekend experience. Speaking of Service, McDonalds corporate is clearly moving away from a people focused approach so don't expect too much here...although the staff will accommodate requests for napkins, condiments, extra cups, etc. Have you downloaded there app lately? Omg. The worst service I have ever received. The employees seemed like they hated their job. It took 6 minutes for someone to come take our order. Order came out incomplete. No one was at the counter to help correct, I finally had to flag someone down. They didn't call any numbers so our order was sitting there getting cold. The ambiance was good, updated and clean. I don't understand why McDonald's employees have such a hard time getting orders right. They literally have a step-by-step list that tells them what to make and what ingredients to put on it. To the owner of this McDonald's: Our mobile order was messed up big time: Mobile curbside delivery order wasn't delivered for more than 40 minutes after ordering. One of the employees kept coming out asking us in the car whether we've received our order. We kept saying no. Even after 40 min, we're still parked, waiting outside in our car for our order. Then we went in to find out that our mobile order, which was supposed to have been delivered to us outside in the car, has been sitting at the front desk all this time!
