I have been very quickly discriminated against at this bar. I walked into the bar late at night to have a drink. I ordered from one bartender and another brought the drink. He said that it was 'pay as you go'. I put money on the bar, he counted it and told me that it would be $17.00 including an up charge of $5 because he determined that I was a 'homophobe'. I did not react to him as I believe that he would threaten me as he had. I did not finish my drink paid for it and left. I have not had a worse experience as a paying customer! read more

Arrived at 7:45 pm on a weekday, sat at a table & was immediately yelled to from a distance "it's going to be a while" by the manager/server. Minutes later, after standing behind the bar sucking his vape pen, he came to our table. I asked him if we needed to move bc by now I'd noticed a small "reserved" sign on the table (seemed strange a table would be reserved so late). His response "can you read". When I asked him what he said bc I thought he couldn't have possibly said what I just heard he repeated it then immediately scooped up the menus & told us to "get the F.... Out"!. Disappointing evening. The owner wasn't there and it showed. We've been coming here for years, we are year round residents. Tonight we ordered our traditional mushroom appetizer,, it came out cold with the remnants of someone's salad attached. Served to us without side plates. I ordered a burger with blue cheese and sautéed mushrooms. The kid in the back brought me a burger with blue cheese smothered in sautéed onions. I sent it back. Five minutes later it arrived with the mushrooms. Our waiter never stopped by to ask how things were. The burger reeked of onions and the bottom part of the burger roll was flat from grease. The waiter later came by, saw we were done and took our plates without a word. Upon delivering the check he was told of the horrible Burge which I couldn't even eat half of. He complained that I didn't say something earlier. As a result, he took $4 off the bill. Thanks a lot, for nothing. I thought your Dad would have taught you better. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Walked in with my family and 6 year old son. Place was full but no one to greet you at the door. After standing there for 5 five min a girl behind the bar asked "what are you waiting for?" This place has great food and drinks as well as an extensive bar, however, the wait to be acknowledged is kind of ridiculous. Our food both nights was amazing and so were our drinks. But both nights it took at least 15 minutes to even be acknowledged while sitting at the bar. The workers are completely swamped and running like crazy, so it's not for a lack of work ethic. If this was the first time eating here I would not ever go back. I had a fantastic lunch special the first time I visited, about four months ago - a turkey Reuben. It's not on the menu so I asked if it was available. Was told it was but it was nothing like the one I had before. Very disappointed. My dining partner ordered the regular Reuben and it was good but not the best he's had. The homemade chips are a very nice side. I wish we'd had a better experience because I like to support the small local businesses. Service was very good and everyone is friendly. Had been looking for a good Irish pub in this area, was happy at first to find this location. Sat at the bar, had 1 round, ordered our food and a second round, got our food, half way through our meal we were told we needed to move because we had taken someone's seat, we moved and finished our meal and our drinks. Edit 6/2014 I returned here several times and the service has been good. I would recommend this place to others! As a local to the area I am always looking to try spots I have yet to experience. On the recommendation of friends, we all headed out for dinner on a Sunday eve. Let me preface this review by saying there are ONLY 2 reasons I didn't give it more stars 1. Some of the staff were quite rude and succinct and the service was slow . 2. They advertise "Grouper" on several items, but put a little asterisk(*) next to it and then tell you on the bottom it's actually "Pangasianodon hypophthalmus". Which upon further research is a species of shark catfish native to the rivers of Southeast Asia and frequently farmed for food service. Being a native I have a true love for Grouper and even putting these 2 in the same arena is a disgrace. Now for the good news! The food we ordered was DELICIOUS!!! We all ordered something different and sampled around. I got the Italian Sammich Combo which is hands down one of the best Italian sandwich I've had in my short time here on earth. I tried the Chicken wings, which I like to order crispy (but didn't) and found them to be excellent. Just the right amount of crispy and the sauce was amazing (Teriyaki Garlic). Our other friends order a small plate of Penne Alfredo with Tomatoes and out came a HUGE bowl of pasta that was very tasty. They had enough to split between each other and still had a box to take home. Overall, I WILL eat here again to see if the service was just a one time issue. I really enjoyed the food here and the beer was super cheap ($2 for a 16oz Yuengling). If I have a better experience on my next go-around I will adjust my review accordingly. read more

What would be 3.5 to 4 stars solely based on location, menu and feel of the place, shoots down to a 2.5 to 3 stars based on staff interaction. The first person who approached our table was a very nice and trying man. I mean that in the most sincere possible way, as he is a person with disabilities attempting to make a living. In no way should the lowering of the star or my opinion be used against him, as he did a better job (interacting with the customers) than what the waitress we ended up with, did. We wanted to use a coupon - a buy one, get one half deal - and didn't read the fine print (our bad). We asked the young man if we can use it, and he said of course. All we had to do was order 2 drinks. Pepsi for me, unsweetened tea for the person I was with. He gets our drinks as we look at the menu, and we then get the waitress. She asked if we knew what we wanted, and we said we had this coupon. She immediately said she can't accept it, as it's not good on Friday and Saturday. Oh; we didn't see that, and we asked the gentleman about it, and he said we could. She snarked at us, and said "well.. he's no good. He's my 'helper'." and gave us this kind of snarl with "helper". Not knowing him or what issue he may or may not have, I didn't appreciate the undertone the woman gave us. It was like he didn't exist or wasn't really supposed to be taking orders from customers, kind of attitude we got from her. We complied with the fact that she may know better, as she said "without reading the coupon, there ARE several circulating that have specific things on them", the one we had "may very well be one of those". Had we known, we wouldn't have ordered the drinks, and maybe not have looked at part of the menu, we said. She then stated she "could throw out the drinks and get water if" we wanted. She repeated it a couple times, when we said it's okay, we just need a minute to review the menu again. We weren't trying to screw the system or be cheap in any way. We just thought we'd stop in for a bite and use this coupon that is always in the local booklets. I asked for another minute, and she walked away. After deciding what to order (Half spicy turkey melt with shoestring fries for me, half cobb salad for the person I was with), we did our ordering and looked around the place. * All together, it's a neat little dive bar. I'm calling it like it looks... very divey, very home grown to the point that if you are a frequent enough customer, they're gonna know you by beer and have it sitting on the bar once you walk in the door. There are booths lining one whole wall, various sized tables through the middle, and a bar long enough to sit a couple dozen people. With many appetizers and drafts to choose from, this can be a very cool place to hang out. Especially when you see the book case full of games by the door when you walk in. From the look of it, not only do they offer sufficient game nights (party!!!!!), they offer Buzztime games on the TVs - where each table gets a controller of sorts. Looks like an automatic label writer, but you enter your name in it (after creating a free account) and you can play against the people in the bar. Very cool! With respect to the food - my sandwich was hot, as described. It was grilled like a panini, and the cheese just melted everywhere. Wasn't all that spicy, but it was filling. The turkey seemed like thick cut deli turkey you get at the supermarket, only rolled onto the bread to fit in the press. Somewhere on the menu I read they use Boars Head meats. The salad, for being a half salad, was pretty big. The one positive thing our waitress said, when we asked questions was that the full salad was enough to take home. If what we saw with the half salad was rather small for them, I would really want to know what single person is eating a full plate. At least they don't let you leave hungry! Will I be back? Quite possibly. I am curious as to see what it's like on game nights, and since I'm expecting out of country guests this summer, maybe this place could be a fun time. * Note: overheard conversation while waiting for our meal: A customer with a device looking to get online asked the waitress why a password was needed to join the network. The waitress said that too many people sit in their parking lot after hours and steal the Grill's internet. Because the people kept doing things they shouldn't, it got too costly to manage. So the Grill needed to password protect their 'net to save people from illegally using it. Ok, um, I would have just said they've had some issues with prior customers. There was no need to say all that. So word of advice: if you go into this place and plan on sitting for a while and use the internet at one point, ask for the password and not why it's locked. read more

Walked in and TRIED to order at 9pm, 2 26 2022 and was yelled at stating they are busy! I stated I wanted to place and order, again and female bartender yelled CAN YOU SEE WE ARE BUSY, WE ARE NOT TAKING TO GO ORDERS! I looked around at the 9 tables (couples) and was like if you cant handle 9 tables then nevermind! Never got to order and would never step foot in the door again! I heard the food here is good! But when my girlfriend and I stopped by on two different occasions, the staff completely ignored us when we entered. Usually when you enter a restaurant, someone greets you and then seats you. But not here! They treated us both times like we were ghosts! Nobody approached us and we just stood there in disbelief!!! After the first visit, we thought we may have just visited at a bad time. But about two weeks later, we stopped by and the exact same thing happened. We left after standing by the entrance for about 10 minutes. We left vowing to never go there again. We told some friends about our bad experience and they said the same thing happened to them! Good restaurant that is owner-operated, which means a lot. Michael is always there and sees to every detail, but keeps it real. Usually the difference between a dependable, consistent experience when you have someone who cares on premises. Menu is plenty big with excellent burgers, grouper quesadillas, sandwiches and many good sides. Specials and full dinners makes it a good choice for any group or just a few folks, something for everyone. I agree, drinks are made well and there are a few good drafts, too. TVs have sports, trivia and news but its not too loud. You can pop outside for a smoke, sit outside and dine al fresco or bring the pup to enjoy the porch culture. This is our "go to" local restaurant. Consistently great food and a fair price. Great cocktails and desserts. Never dissatisfied. Sauces and soups are home made. Best burgers in town. Place was understaffed and everyone there were stressed out. Second visit we tried to take two seats at the bar and the bartender put a reserved sign on the bar and aggressively slammed his fist on the bar saying " you can't sit here" We walked out and won't ever be going back. We've eaten here a number of times with very mixed results. The food is usually quite good but the service is usually a turnoff if they are at all busy. Not unusual to enter the front door and be totally ignored for a long time. I'm not sure if they are understaffed or if they really don't care. It feels like the latter. It feels like they think they're doing you a favor by allowing you to eat there. Many choices close by where both service and food are good. This place is trash... for people that don't know and maybe Michael is not the owner anymore but they have foods that are disgusting... the owner cooks food while in between smoking cigarettes or even during. I've been going to this place you years but never again. Went for lunch yesterday with my wife. We sat at the bar in front of the beer taps and could see the cook eating a big sandwich with his hands while making food orders. Gross right? We told the bartender who's very nice and she told the owner Mike I think his name is and he simply didn't care. He said to her while laughing you want me to send him home. The cook is sticking his fingers in his mouth and making food that as gross and disrespectful as it get. Worst restaurant in town. I would like to say bad service but to get bad service you have to have service. Finally a person came over and said what do you want(after waiting almost 30 minutes) and I said just my bill (had a beer) and he said you are not ordering and I said no. He proceeded to tell me that I was an idiot and told other people at the bar. I was told he was the owner. He was right I was an idiot for stopping at this place. I will not make this mistake again.
