I love how clean and open this restaurant is. The simple and modern decor works very well for this place. There's plenty of seats and even more parking. We came on a Saturday at prime dinner time and while there was a lot of people, there was no wait. Their knife cut noodle in spicy chicken broth ($17.99) is good and their bibimbap ($19.99) is also good, but for no meat it was expensice for what it is. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order here. They give you red and white kimchi for your banchan and I prefer the white over the red one. Prices are average compared to other places. Service is friendly. Great place to come for really good Korean knife cut and cold noodles!
This is a huge restaurant, very clean and openly spaced. We were done eating so much Disneyland food and wanted some real warm food so we ordered Bulgogi and the cold vinegar noodles which was so yummy and some dumplings which my son devoured too bad we don't have any pictures of the food, but I do have pictures of the sides and the table. I love that they have a secret compartment for utensils and napkins.
I went to the MDK in Irvine when I was younger before it closed down! Was craving the garlicky, spicy kimchi and mild, slightly nutty soybean noodles kkongguksu. I was so happy to find that this location was open! They had plenty of seating but it does still fill up during peak lunch hours around 1-2PM but wait is never long - I beat the line and was seated immediately but afterwards a wave of families came, probably after Sunday church service! Very clean and organized space where lots of families come to eat and chat. The noodles and kimchi were exactly as I remembered, chewy noodles and fresh, fragrant kimchi, and I also got some pork dumplings. They were so juicy and stuffed with meat and so good with the kimchi to cut the richness. I preferred to pair the dumplings with kimchi over the soy sauce because the soy sauce made it too salty. We got the seafood pancakes and they were very tasty with the sweet green onions and plenty of squid, mussels, etc. Very happy to see they're still doing well after over a decade.
A friend recommended this spot for good Korean noodles! Some friends and I arrived for dinner on a Saturday around 5:00. It wasn't crowded at all, and we were seated immediately. By the time we left around 6:30, the restaurant was a lot more full. I ordered the Cold Kimchi Green Chlorella Noodle Soup. The noodles are a vibrant green color! There is also cucumber, kimchi, egg, and red onions in it. The noodles are pretty long, so they give you a pair of scissors to cut them. The flavor isn't too strong, so you can add your own sauce condiments provided on the table if you'd like a little more flavor. Overall, this is a very refreshing dish! I tried some of the Knife Cut Noodles in Chicken Broth as well. In contrast, this is a very hot dish (and stays hot throughout the meal)! They give a dish of kimchi to each person and non-spicy kimchi for each two people. The regular kimchi is on the spicier side. There is ground chicken on top, along with dumplings and some vegetables. This noodle soup was very comforting! They also have a Cold Soybean Green Chlorella Noodles Soup that I'm definitely going to try the next time I come!
We first had MDK Noodle in South Korea, Myeong Dong, the M and the D to MDK. We loved it there and we definitely loved it here!! There were much more varieties here in the US but we tried to stick with what we got in Korea to have a comparison. The knife cut noodle in broth soup was pretty standard and tasted great. Our table also got the spicy version of this, which i liked a bit more. The pork dumplings were surprisingly better here in the US. Probably the way they steamed it. The cold noodles was the tricky one. I didn't see this many selection in Korea, but there were several cold cut spicy noodles and variants here. Wow...so we went with a dish with green noodle and spicy sauce, i think its the arrowroot in spicy sauce without any addons. Either way, it tasted great. Service was quick and to the point. A simple restaurant with simple decor. They say a lot more through their food.

Came for dinner and the place was popping. I'm assuming a lot of people that come here know exactly what menu item they wanted because the staff kept coming back to take our orders immediately haha I wanted some dry noodles so I opted for the Spicy Chewy Noodle. I've never had this dish before so I was surprised when my first bite was cold. Very refreshing! I would say that the noodles got me full from a couple bites, overall it was pretty spicy. I'm not sure if there were deeper flavors than that though. This may be controversial but I wasn't a fan of the kimchi. It was very bitter to me. I did like the other pickled cabbages served to us, very refreshing. A nice touch though is that on the side of the tables, there's a drawer for utensils and napkins! Never seen that before! Do wish the staff would've told us initially beforehand because we were confused where they were. Since I love Korean food, I would wanna come here again to try the other menu items, perhaps other dishes would be more suited for my taste.
MDK is a big let down of a restaurant. the food was very underwhelming and for the same price, there are plenty of other quality restaurants ~Food~ pork dumplings 6/10 pork was a bit smelly and chewy knife cut noodle in spicy broth 8/10 noodles were overcooked but broth was flavorful and spicy cold noodles 5/10 very basic cold noodles, underwhelming ~Service: 7/10 quick but not very friendly ~Cost: $17.99 per entree ~Parking: plenty of plaza parking available
When I'm craving hot noodles, this is my go to place. I love their noodles in chicken broth. I've tried the spicy one but I like the original better. I've also tried some of their other dishes. Some were good and some were a miss. dongchimi with white noodles was good. It normally comes with green noodles but got it replaced with white noodles. It's refreshing and tasty. I did not like the spicy nengmyun. The best thing here is the kimchi that they give. There are white and the red kimchi and both are super good. There is someone going around just to refill kimchi for ppl. They remodeled so the place looks more open and bright. There's a good number of tables but when we went on a Sunday early afternoon the tables filled up.
Mdk has the same restaurant name as the 50+ kalguksu restaurant in Korea. Affiliated? Not sure, but the food tastes the same, and dare I say, better. Kalguksu is their signature dish. A single bowl is super filling. You get homemade kalguksu noodles with bits of meat toppings and mandu (dumplings). I though the mandu was better here because there is more filling inside than the ones in Korea. The kimchi is identical to ones they had in the Korean stores.
One of the best parts of this visit was the service. The staff were very quick and friendly, which definitely deserves high praise. However, compared to before, the food portion and taste didn't seem to improve. Since the broth was chicken-based, it had a slight chicken smell that I didn't really enjoy. Also, the noodles were not handmade, and the extra $5 charge felt too expensive. After finishing the meal, the portion still felt a bit small, which was disappointing. In the end, restaurants that serve generous portions tend to do well, and I wish this place would consider that. At least they gave a small bowl of rice for free, which made me feel a little less hungry.
It was warmer when we wanted to grab lunch and what better way to beat the heat than ordering cold noodles. It was my second time ever having cold noodles and this was so good and hit the spot. Their dumplings are so fresh and packed with so much meat and have a thin wrapper. You know this place is good when you see Korean people eating here alone during lunch. Nothing beats their bibim guksu on a hot day and this place is my favorite! I love bringing my halmoni here--it's our little tradition after church. The noodles are super fresh and have that perfect chewy, bouncy texture. It's definitely spicy ( that's what the broth on the side is for) , but the flavor is so good it's totally worth it. The servers are always super attentive, and their kimchi? Absolutely delicious. It's the perfect spot for some comfort food! read more
When we visited here, there was still construction, but that didn't stop us from finding the restaurant and trying some noodles! 1) Kalguksu: we got knife cut chicken noodle soup, the broth was good, noodles aren't really knife cut but overall it wasn't bad and it satisfied my noodle soup craving for a cold night dinner (5/5) 2) Pork dumplings: the steamed pork dumplings were probably my favorite of the bunch. Flavorful with each bite! (5/5) 3) Pan fried dumplings: they're in cute bite sizes, pretty good, but if you had to choose 1 dumpling dish, I would def go with the steamed pork dumplings (4/5) Aside from the entrees, I enjoyed their kimchi, the garlic taste may be strong for others, but it was still quite delicious. Overall, prices are decent, credit cards are accepted, and there's plenty of parking. read more

I hadn't been to this place in years and wanted to make the trip as a gift to myself for my birthday. Brought my girls along for their first time and i was surprised as it looked like it had an update to the interior. It was a welcome change, the staff was friendly and provided quick and great service. They provide two types of kimchi to eat after being seated, with water and a small water picture to continue drinking water, as well as napkins and utensils that are located in a drawer at the underside of the table. I ordered their spicy green cold noodles, as that's the dish i ordered many years ago when i visited and it was just like I remembered. I also received a small hot soup with my noodles which was delicious. My youngest daughter ordered their chicken brother dumpling and noodle soup, while my oldest had the spicy chicken broth noodle soup. We left very full and very satisfied. I'll definitely be back and won't let so much time go by. Missed this place read more

I absolutely love going here for knife-cut kalguksu! I first heard of this place when I went to the LA location, but I've gone to this location more because it's closer to me. I always get the Knife-Cut Noodles in Spicy Chicken Broth and the fried dumplings. Knife-Cut Noodles in Spicy Chicken Broth: Very flavorful! Definitely spicy for people who are bad with spice like me, but since it's so flavorful I get it everytime. The portion are pretty big - definitely a great place to eat on an empty stomach! Fried dumplings: sooo good!! love how crispy it is and comes with a small salad side (such a good combo together). I've been to both the LA location and this location, and I would say this one is pretty spacious. In terms of service, they did seem a bit understaffed since there were about 1-2 people running the tables, but I didn't mind the wait! Overall would go again!! read more
Mixed spicy arrowroot noodle - first time trying korean mixed noodles and I was shocked at how much noodles there were! I love the texture, super chewy and thin, very fun to eat. however, I am not a big fan of the sauce as I thought it was too sweet. I am someone who prefers savory to sweet, so this is just a personal preference. Sauce had a nice spice kick thought, made me down too much water for me to enjoy the meal but I love the spice. Pork dumplings - SO juicy and the pork filling packed so much flavor. if I come back, I would just order a bunch of dumplings. hands down, one of the best places for mandu. love how these were served to us steaming hot. big YUM. I came with my sister and cousin for dinner around 6PM and we waited for about 20 minutes behind 4 parties. This place is one of the best Korean dumpling and noodle restaurants in town. They recently renovated the place, and it now has a clean and inviting atmosphere. All the dishes on the menu are authentic and highly recommended. I especially recommend getting the dumplings and noodles (hot or cold), which they are known for. read more
Came here on New Year's Day for dumpling soup as traditional for my peeps. This was the 1st time visiting MDK. The facility is rather big w/many tables. We arrived right after opening so no waiting around. We were greeted by I believe the owner and the lady was very nice. We ordered the fried dumplings, rice cake and dumpling soup and bibimbap. The soup was delicious and just the right amount of spicy. The bibimbap was huge, enough for 2 people. The only thing I didn't like was the fried dumplings, which were really small and a little cold when we received it. But besides that, a great find while looking for a rice cake soup place near Anaheim. We will definitely come here again. Check out the pics! read more

This was my first time trying knife cut noodles. I got the spicy chicken broth. You get regular kimchi and white kimchi. Both were delicious. The noodles were chewy and held the broth well. I just felt like it was a little on the bland side. Not sure if it's just meant to be light. It was spicy but nothing crazy. Portion is huge. Plenty of parking. Came here for lunch during a weekday and had a good amount of people but still seated right away. Would love to come back and try the spicy cold noodles. read more

I was so happy to find a Korean place that was close enough for delivery to me, and MDK did not disappoint! I ordered: Knife Cut Noodle in a Spicy Chicken Broth (Spicy Kalguksu) Rice Cake Dumpling Soup Red Kimchi Small White Kimchi Small Rice Cake Dumpling Soup This was BOMB. I love spice, so I didn't think I would like this one as much as I did, but it's so flavorful and all the toppings work so well together. This was absolutely my favorite, although next time I think I'll get it without rice cake. Spicy kalguksu This was a close second and SO SO GOOD. Spice level is probably a bit too much for the average person, but I loved it, and it's the perfect thing to warm you up on a chilly day. The only issue was that my stomach was a bit sensitive the next day. I would recommend this if you're used to spice or if you're only tasting. White kimchi I've never had white kimchi before, but I love kimchi, so I gave it a try. THIS IS SO GOOD! Get it. You won't regret it. (Unless you're not a fan of fermented food) Red kimchi If you're a garlic lover, this is your kimchi! This was very good kimchi, but be warned: you will be tasting garlic for the next 5-7 business days. I had a bunch left over, so I made pasta sauce with it and am planning to make fried rice with it. If you want to use your leftover kimchi and you want those gut healthy probiotics, don't heat it, just mix it in at the end. If you're sensitive to spice, go with the white kimchi. Overall, everything was great, highly recommend, and I'll absolutely be back Two things that could be improved: - I ended up with SO MUCH kimchi, because I ordered one of each, not knowing that they include kimchi with the entrees. They should put that in the description. - The sealed packaging for the kimchi and the spicy kalguksu toppings were a bit hard to get into, and got a bit messy as I tried to stab my way in read more
3.6 stars Of all the noodles I like, kalguksu, a knife-cut noodle, is one of my favorites because I love a good chewy noodle. This dish can easily feed 2 people. It came with 3 small dumplings and some veggies. Unfortunately, this restaurant's Spicy Chicken Noodle Soup ($17.99) didn't really satisfy me. I had an issue with the noodles. While the soup was wonderfully spicy, the noodles eventually became too soft and the soup was very thick...almost sauce-like as opposed to soupy. The dumplings had very thick dumpling skin...probably so that it doesn't get too soggy. This noodle soup retained heat until the very end, which is really impressive. I was sniffling and teary-eyed by the end of my meal! I would still recommend a visit on cold days when a hearty, carby meal is needed! The interior of the restaurant is big and spacious, but very plain. There's nothing that really stands out. The servers are cordial and there wasn't a long wait time. Parking is free and, as of September 2023, I think the plaza is being worked on, so the pavement is rocky and uneven. The sign for MDK Noodle is on their glass window. read more

My new favorite comfort meal! It truly was love at first slurp. We dropped in on a chilly night looking for something warm and comforting. We were overly ambitious and ordered the Rice Cake Dumpling Soup, Spicy Knife-cut Chicken Noodle Soup, and a side of Shrimp Pork Dumpling. This ended up being an insane amount of food for two people, but it was delicious every bite of the way! The Rice Cake Dumpling Soup was my personal favorite. It featured a homey, warm broth with rice cakes and dumplings. This could totally be my last meal and I wouldn't have a single complaint. The Spicy Knife-cut Chicken Noodle Soup was a lot spicer than we thought! Still incredibly delicious though. It featured knife-cut noodles, dumplings, and ground meat in a spicy, decadent broth. Last, but not least, the Shrimp Pork Dumplings! These bad boys were so juicy and packed with goodness. Definitely a must-try here. read more
Heard of this place first in LA's Koreatown and was happy they have a location close to me. It's in a sketchy and dead strip mall but should be more lively soon with the opening of a Seafood City in the same plaza. We ordered the knife-cut noodles in chicken broth, the pan-fried dumplings and dumpling soup. Noodles were cooked perfectly, the broth is very tasty, and the 2 or 3 dumplings inside was a nice touch for a noodle dish. I thought the pan-fried dumplings were really good too as a side and easy to share. I didn't try the dumpling soup but my friend seemed to like it. They give generous portions and I ended up taking home leftovers. MDK is very no-frills. Come for good Korean comfort food and not fancy dining. You'll also get some banchan when you order but I personally wasn't a fan of the kimchi since I didn't find it as sweet as some other places. Overall, can't go wrong. I also placed some orders for take-out before and they come in nicely packaged boxes with all the things you need, including a side of kimchi. read more
The restaurant is tucked inside a plaza, finding it is a little challenging in night. However, while it's unassuming from the outside, it has a large interior that is brightly lit. They have a simple menu, we tried their knife cut chicken noodles, soybean noodles, and pork dumplings. They first served us some delicious kimchi that we snacked on while we waited. The soybean soup was refreshing and had an interesting nutty flavor. The knife cut chicken noodles were a classic- the broth was soothing and light and complemented the chicken well. The highlight of the meal was the pork dumplings actually, it had plenty of meat and tasted sooo good! Overall, the portion sizes were huge and we took home the noodles for a second meal. Had the chicken kalguksu and pork dumplings. It was so good my girlfriend tried to steal some of my food in the picture. The dumplings are a must get and I had the spicy kalguksu last time, just be warned its really spicy to the stomach. Kimchi is phenomenal, super garlicky and unlike any other kimchi at other restaurants. Service is good, no complaints. Decor is a little outdated but cozy, but hey this place has been around for a while. Nice little "hole in the wall" spot thats been a go to by Korean locals. read more
My new friend Jessica and I met here in Anaheim because she works in Anaheim. We met for the first time at the Long Beach Convention Center event just the day before. We had so much in common we couldn't wait to see each other again so here we are at this restaurant near her work. We ordered my favorite dish to order in a Korean restaurant, which is Pork Bulgogi. It was quite expensive $26.95 however when I looked at another Korean restaurant, same menu item it was $28 in Temecula. I guess that's the going price now. But it was a big turn off that the little half cup of rice is supposed to serve one person but when we asked for another, they said it cost $3. So we did not get it. I told the server we could buy a whole bag of rice for $3. He did give us an additional soup when I asked him for another bowl so I could share the one soup with Jessica. I said do we have to pay extra and he says no on the soup, so he would not give us an extra rice. So much spicy sweet pork and so little rice. Another Yelp reviewer mentioned the same that they had to pay for an additional dish of rice. I would not pay that much. Then when we asked for an additional takeout box to take home the kimchi, the server showed us the sign on the table that we are not allowed to take the kimchi home. I never heard that in a Korean restaurant ever before. In other Korean restaurants we're allowed to eat as much kimchi as we can and get refills on the kimchi. But we do not refill this time even once. I told the server they are required to throw everything that is brought to the table away so why was he promoting waste by not letting us take the kimchi with us. He said he only worked there that was the owner's policy and he had to follow the policy. Well we stuffed it in the box anyways that's why he wouldn't give us another box. That box didn't fit the Bulgogi and I had to eat some more just so we could close the lid So I am not rating five stars, as I thought the restaurant felt stingy to me, and their rules were odd about the kimchi. Furthermore I felt the $26.95 for pork was so expensive. Because for three more dollars I could order a 14 oz boneless prime rib with two sides and delicious yeast bread for $29 at Texas Roadhouse where I ate only 2 days before. I also did not like the sign in front of the restaurant above the door. They just moved there as with the other businesses and had temporary banner signs but this sign said in huge letters we are open. But did not say who we is except in much smaller letters that did not help you find the restaurant. I wish I took a picture of the very poorly marketed and designed sign. read more

Mdk looks so much nicer since they remodeled. They got rid of the booths and opened up the space to a much more modern interior. The utensils and napkins can be found on the side drawer connected to the table. I got the pork dumplings and they were so good. All of their knife cut noodles are on point and the broth is flavorful. Customer service could be better as it's hard to flag anyone down. read more

There were tons of tables when we got there! I can tell that it was authentic korean food. We got: - Rice Cake Dumpling Soup: they did not skimp out on the food here, super filing ( 4/5) - Pork dumpling: juicy and great filing (5/5) - mixed spicy arrowroot noodles w/ skate 3/5 (but it is bc I personally do not love skate, so not a good representation) I loved all of their kimchi banchan, it was fresh and had the perfect crunch. read more
I threw a tantrum on Sunday morning. My poor polite lamp post of a partner (bc he's tall, always in the right spot when you need him, and even if you bumped into him, he'd apologize for being in the way) had to deal with my sassy Jindo dog AND my hungry and coffee-deprived ass. I wanted Naengmyeon and demanded that he find a Korean place. I could have done the research, but he's Korean and I'm Japanese, so better leave the decisions to the pros. ANYWAYS, my partner chose MDK noodles and he ordered the knife-cut anchovy broth noodles and I ordered the naengmyeon. Little did we know, we were about to embark on a salty adventure that left me wondering whether it had the tears of my sister who just broke off an engagement LOL (she's fine). The noodles were hot and salty. But I do have to say, my lamp post and I are very sensitive to salt (like snails) Meanwhile, I was over on my side of the table, living my best Naengmyeon life. The cold noodles were perfection--a cool, refreshing contrast to the salty, hot, chaos happening next to me. The broth? Sublime. The noodles? Just chewy enough to remind me life's good. It was like sitting in an air-conditioned room after surviving a desert heatwave (and I just came back from Palm Springs RIP). Maybe my lamp post will try something different there next time, but I will still order naengmyeon and maybe I will try some dumplings next time! read more
We came for a 1:30pm lunch on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was empty. The restaurant had a huge green street side sign that said MDK Noodles, but once you turned into the under construction strip mall, it was difficult to find. There isn't a sign up yet, except for a small poster on their window. Btw, the parking lot is huge so you'll never have trouble finding a spot. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted and led to a table. It was a cavernous space with ample table seating, sprinkled with a few wooden booths. Our server quickly brought us a paper menu we could fill out ourselves, 3 dishes of kimchi, and a carafe of ice water. Napkins and metal utensils were already in a glass top box on the table. He answered all my questions about the various dishes then we decided to order: * Spicy knife cut noodle chicken broth soup 4/5 The noodles were super soft and the broth was very spicy. Not that flavorful, but still good. * Spicy dumpling soup 3/5 I was surprised they offered a spicy version. I've never seen that on a menu so I decided to give it a try. Again it was spicy but strangely not that flavorful. The beef crumbles and sliced veggies were the same as the kalguksoo and there was no egg, so it was a departure from the mandukook I know and love. The dumplings were very small (but there were soooo many), thick, chewy wonton skin, with yummy filling. The portions here are huge. Both our soups were jam packed with noodles and dumplings. Probably 2 or 3 times what you would normally get at a Korean restaurant. But they still offer a refill of noodles for $5. You won't need that! **The highlights of my visit to MDK** * The spicy garlic kimchi was 5/5. The server kindly offered us a refill but we were stuffed! No wonder they sell it by the jar if you want to take some home. * Our server was very attentive, polite, knowledgeable and friendly. * $18 for a bowl of noodles might seem expensive, but you get such a big portion that it's worth that price read more

I love, love, love MyeongDong Kyoja in Korea so when I saw this place, I had to come! Food - 4/5 - pork dumplings - good but didn't hit like the ones in Korea - knife-cut noodle in chicken broth (kalguksu) - really rich and tasty broth with smooth, slurp-worthy noodles. This bowl of noodles is honestly the perfect dish for a cold day. - Soybean noodle soup (kongguksu) - This summer dish is so rare that I always get it when I see it. Creamy, thick soy milk broth (with a strong black sesame taste) coats the noodles and is perfect with a slight hit of salt and lots of kimchi. This was so rich that it was hard to finish on my own - I'd recommend sharing! This place is quite pricey but the portions are large and the food is good. The restaurant is located in this large, mostly empty and pretty sketchy looking open plaza and quite hard to find. Luckily I came during the day so it didn't see too bad - but yeah, sketchy-looking so be very aware of your surroundings. read more

Mediocre. I had high hopes. Sigh. The noodles did not look/taste fresh and handcut. The soup was supposed to have a generous portion of potatoes and zucchinis. Instead, a few skinny strips of zucchini and potato matchsticks. Did not hit the spot. There is a Chinese Korean restaurant, Jo Won, in the same center. I wanted to try. That also got great reviews but too many health code violations. Skip this shopping center. read more
Mdk is my go-to in the area when I'm looking for some kalguksu! This place is definitely on the pricier end for a bowl of noodles, but the portions are decent. Noodles are nice and chewy, and the broth is very hearty & drinkable. The spice levels here in general definitely skew hotter. The kimchi is sooo good, but spicier than most other ones I've had. Tastes like home cooking, comfort food, Korean style. Was enticed to try this place by an insta reel, and it did not disappoint! Service was fairly nice but poor lady was the only waitress for the whole place; however, with a few servers, somehow the service was not slow. Red kimchi was tastyyy, garlicky, and mild+/medium spice level. Non-red kimchi was strong and reminded me of horseradish. The knife-cut noodles in chicken broth was like Korean chicken noodle soup, with perfectly chewy thick noodles. The mushrooms and green onions were a nice touch. Overall would give it a 4.5/5. I would like to eat this when I am sick or I want something nonspicy on a cold day. The pork dumplings were delicious! Loaded with filling and bursting at the seams, they had a perfectly chewy wrapping and nicely seasoned flavor, though the dark vinegar takes them from a 4+/5 to a 6/5. A true hole-in-the-wall as my friend said, the store front is so nondescript that it is hard to find. But go with the address, as they have a paper in the door with the street number. Great place if you're looking for yummy Korean comfort food! I'll be honest, the exterior looked a little suspicious. The parking lot looks like it's part of a construction zone and the restaurants windows are all covered with wooden planks. You might not even know this restaurant is here if you weren't already looking for it. But don't be fooled, the food inside is what you're here for, and it's delicious! The restaurant is pretty large and spacious and the staff are friendly and efficient. When you sit down, the staff brings their well-known garlic kimchi to your table along with regular picked napa cabbage as well. You're also given the menu and a paper sheet and pen for you to mark your order on. We ordered the knife cut chicken noodle soup, spicy knife cut chicken noodle soup, and the mixed spicy arrowroot noodle along with an order of their pork dumplings. Their garlic kimchi is so good and unique as far as kimchi I've tried at other places. The garlic flavor is strong, so if you're a fan of that you'll really like this. The kimchi is also on the spicy side though so be forewarned. The picked napa cabbage is more tart than the garlic kimchi, but is refreshing especially if you're eating spicy food. I really enjoyed the knife cut chicken noodle soup. The soup is flavorful, the noodles are bouncy, and the dumplings inside are good as well. The spicy knife cut chicken noodle soup is very similar, but spicy! The mixed spicy arrowroot noodles were also very good. This is a cold noodle dish, so it was great for the hot weather. But it is still spicy. I appreciate that they also leave a knife to help you cut the noodles while you eat. The pork dumplings were also delicious. I really enjoyed how flavorful and juicy they were. the dumpling skin was nice and thin, but still held in all the flavor. I've had MDK twice now. They don't give a variety of bonchon but by far the best kimchi i've had at a restaurant. There is the taste of raw garlic to it and its definitely spicier than most other places. That combination works well for me however may not be everyones preference. The two items I have tried are the knife cut noodle in chicken broth and the spicy cold noodle. For the knife cut noodle in chicken broth, the soup came out piping hot which was lovey. Its well seasoned and has that comforting taste and feel that chicken broth should have. It seems like the broth has been thickened with starch or flour or maybe because the noodle has been sitting in the soup too long? It would also explain why the noodles feel overcooked. Overall I enjoy the dish but being $18 i do expect it to be done better The spicy cold noodle on the other hand was perfect! Huge portion, the noodles were al dente, and the flavor on point! While this spot is pretty pricey (~$17 for noodles and over $20 for dumplings), I really enjoy the food here especially the chicken kalguksu which comes with little dumplings, chewy knife cut noodles, and more. Dumplings come stuffed with plenty of meat and are pretty large, so they're fun to share with friends. The food here has a cozy feel to it and the portion sizes are quite decent. The vibe is very casual, not a lot of decorations, so it's pretty low key. Service is ok, just bring the food and water to you, but anything more than that, you have to ask. I had to ask for a table, a menu, and the check, which took awhile for me to get. But the food is so good that I'd go back despite this. read more

Dang! That Kimchi hit different here. Service - 4/5 attentive and efficient! Ambiance - 4/5 clean, quiet, and full of Koreans eating here. You know what that means... food must be good Food - 4.5/5 delicious! Best kimchi ever. The spicy hand pulled noodles = best comfort food. Dumplings were great! Full of flavor and stuffing. No complaints other than wishing that there were more banchan variety Overall - 4/5 I would def hit the spot again if I'm around the area. read more

Do they sell frozen dumplings?
No unfortunately we do not. All dumplings are made fresh daily, and because of the thin nature of the skin of our dumplings we do not freeze it. We apologize for the inconvenience!
When are the cold noodles available?
Hi, all the cold noodles are available except soy bean noodles which we will bring back in the spring :)
Is the kimchi still the same after the ownership/name change?
Hi! The kimchi is the same :). I took over from my father because he is getting older, but food is the same.
Do they have any gluten free options?
They have vegetarian bibimbap (traditional korean dish made of vegetables and rice), beef bulgogi and pork bulgogi, rice cake soup, and any of the dishes that contain chlorella noodles as they are naturally gluten free.
What are your thoughts about the vegetarian noodles options?
They have seafood noodles.
