I live in Pasadena but didn't know this place until a friend of mine from Bay Area took me there a couple of months ago. Since then it became my weekend routine. The place is a hole in the wall. There are only two tables inside. There is usually a line and a bunch of delivery people waiting to pick up the orders. I usually order the food and take it to the Big Bang Theory Way (yes, there is a ally with that name right next to the restaurant). There are some public tables there. The food is always very good. I tried all the crepes. Of course the Peking Duck is my favorite. BBQ pork and cumin lamb are next. Their soy milk is good. This is indeed the best Chinese Crepe I ever had!!! It's a street food in China and it's soooo authentic. Having different protein choice in the crepe is creative and I love it! I'm a big fan of Chinese crepe. Every time I go to New York or Bay Area, I uber to the crepe place. There's also one in the valley, but, mehhh. And I'm so delighted to see a crepe place in town right now and this place definitely beats them all! I had the original one and pecking duck crepe. The best! I recommend adding the pickled mustard(preserved veggie), which is a standard ingredient in a typical crepe. Also, the $3 dollar combo with a tea egg and soybean milk will make a like a whole meal. Hmm the cons is that it's a little pricey. If I had the duck crepe and a combo, it would be $18.. however, it's worth it and a must try!! I don't usually write reviews but this place fascinates me. Stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! Not only is their menu incredibly unique, but delicious as well. I tried their Peking duck crepe and crawfish crepe, both mild. The portions are a bit small for the price, but it is surprisingly pretty filling! They use a ma la spice for the heat and it was actually really good with the Peking duck. I didn't care too much for the crawfish one as I'm not a shellfish lover but my boyfriend liked it a lot. That one was noticeably spicier even though it was mild though. But that free cold soybean milk with Yelp check in to wash down the spice was just ~chefs kiss~ would definitely come by again! read more

Too much sauce and too salty, it tastes good at first bite, but soon became overwhelmed, you need to drink a lot water to wash down all those salt and sauce. Came in the morning when the store was empty. There were five employees and we ordered two crepe and two soy milk. $35 for 2 people. Waited for 10mins for the crepe to come up (it should take 5mins max). Tasted it, about the worst I ever had. No napkin was given. 15mins later, soy milk finally came up. Delicious! Great food for on the go. Some of the juices do tend to pool towards the bottom so I would recommend leaving your wrap in the paper vessel especially if you're driving. I went for the Peking duck which was fantastic. The skin was perfectly crisped which adds a nice textural contrast to the tender meat and fresh produce. Flavors are deep, rich and bold. A savory delight for any fan of east Asian tastes. I wouldn't hesitate to try the cumin lamb or BBQ pork the next time I'm swinging through the SGV. read more

All of the previous reviews mentioned how quick this place was, so I figured it was reasonable to go here for lunch. It took 20 minutes for me to get my very simple crepe (the original one). I literally had to go put more change in my parking meter. I ordered my crepe mild, and it was objectively pretty spicy. The avocado I paid $2 extra for was not ripe, but rather hard. It was pretty greasy, too. Not what I was expecting at all. Overall, a long wait, not great food, and I left smelling like I had sat on the grill. I was very excited knowing this place opened in LA, since I liked their Vancouver location and I love JianBing a lot. But I'm very disappointed at their food & service after finally trying it. We placed a to-go order half an hr in advance because we were in a hurry. But after getting there, it still took about 5 minutes for us to stay in line and another 5 to simply get our order. Then, I found out they didn't give me the add-on I paid for, but at that point we already left... I'd be ok with it as long as the food was good. However, we found the spice level were really off. We asked for one non-spicy and one mild-spicy for the 2 crepes. The non spicy one was pretty much tasteless, without even the basic Jianbing sauce. The mild spicy one is not mild at all, making us wonder why the heck they couldn't just make sth in between. I mean, all the I ingredients and makings are right - they just need the right amount/level of sauce. It's that simple. Overall, for about $12 for a small Jianping that's not even a full lunch portion, I wouldn't expect sth this disappointing. read more

I'm so glad to have a jian bing place in the area. I have never been to China so I have no idea if it is authentic or not. It seems a bit pricey ($10+) but worth it. The chips in the middle are crispy and provide great texture with the sauce and fried egg layer. I have never had one with the chinese donut in the middle because I love the crispy texture too much. My only issue is that I don't know how to eat it. And I find that it is a bit messy to eat. Oh, I just realized that it comes in a wrapper and the outside says "peel and roll". The food was phenomenal and the service was quick. I was able to catch them on a day where there weren't many customers so I was able to enjoy a table to myself. I ordered the Double Down Crepe which is BBQ pork and BBQ Duck with cheese. A tea infused egg and soybean milk. The flavors and the amount of food is perfect. You can ask for different spice levels and you can have your milk hot or cold which I prefer hot due to preference. Located alongside Old town Pasadena I would recommend this awesome stop for authentic Chinese street food. Went to this place on a bit of a whim as we were sampling some new places in Pasadena. The lady at the counter was very welcoming and explained the portions very well. We had the Peking Duck and the Regular split between four people and it was the perfect amount for us for a snack. All were delicious, quick and well prepared. Wow, I've never had anything like this before and I will definitely be coming back. Maybe I got lucky, but there was no one else there when I stopped by around noon on a Tuesday. I had read about this place as the place to go for 'savory' crepes, so it was on my list to try and I am looking forward to bringing my friends here. The menu is basic and doesn't really provide any information about each dish so I felt a little lost when ordering. It was difficult to understand the person taking my order, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. Being a duck lover, I ordered the Peking Duck crepe. She recommended that I upgrade to include the egg and lettuce, so I did, because from what I could understand, the only thing it comes with besides duck is cucumbers. But when then she asked if I wanted the cilantro and onions and I said yes, but wasn't sure if it normally came with it. Very confusing. As they made the crepe, I wondered if the egg would be scrambled or fried, etc., but on the TV above me I saw the making of a crepe and the egg mixture is spread out over the crepe the same way the batter is spread. So it's really a thin layer of pancake batter with a thin layer of egg, filled with your choice of meats and veggies. Wonderful. When it arrived, it was like a big folded burrito. I asked if I was to eat it with my hands or a knife and fork (which are at the table) and was told to grab it with both hands and dive in! Which I did! Yum! There was the soft crepe and egg layers, a crunchy layer of fried wonton skins (?) and the duck, cilantro, onions, and black sesame seeds. Funny, it was only the last bite when I saw the cucumber. As I was eating it, I kept saying it reminded me of something. Then it hit me- it tasted similar to mooshu, the sweet sauce and the crepe pancake are very similar. It was delicious. It definitely benefited from the texture and crunch of the lettuce. The price is a bit high and prohibits me from visiting more than once a month. The only thing I would recommend to the proprietor is to make the menu a bit easier to understand for people who are unfamiliar with chinese crepes and don't know what to expect. There are a lot of add-ons but each item doesn't say what it already comes with. That would help. Otherwise, I loved the food! read more

Love the num-nums from this place. No matter what i get, it's always delicious so i am never scared of being adventurous.

The place is small and there are only about four tables, so it's probably not good for a big group if you guys are hoping to sit and eat. They have a variety of crepe options, but they're all pretty pricey in my opinion. The cheapest is roughly $9 while the most expensive (which is the duck) is around $13. I ended up getting the BBQ pork with mild spice for around $10 and I wouldn't say I was amazed by it. The egg portion of the meal was definitely really good and I like the wonton chips they put inside to counter the soft texture that everything else gave off. The BBQ pork was generous, but the spice wasn't well mixed around. I bit into one spot and that's where all the spice hit me while everything else was bland. My friend said the same thing; it wasn't as flavorful as he thought it'd be. I think it was definitely missing that saltiness aspect to it. In regards to portion, it's fairly big and it definitely filled me up so I'm a happy camper. The staff members are pretty friendly, too. I'm so excited that Me + Crepe opened in LA! This is the place you should stick with for your breakfast, lunch, or brunch. This crepe is a Chinese traditional breakfast, but it is added new stuffing making it good for all people eating everyday. You should definitely try the traditional Greenery, or New Beef, Peeking Duck and so much more, and of course don't forget the add-ons, making it a perfect one for you! Also don't forget to have a Soy Milk with your crepes, that will be the perfect combo! The place is such a pretty and clean spot in the old town Pasadena.
