Eager to finally try this place that I had bookmarked for a while. We walked in to outdoor seating for 6 on a Saturday evening without a reservation. They were packed but did not look like there was a wait. The indoor seating was full of large parties so looked like they are very compatible for large groups. They have a set menu with salad, steak and fries...and an added bonus, which I was not tracking...second serving of steak and fries. There is a vegetarian option which was portobello and vegetables if meat is not your thing. The steak was good and cooked just how it wanted it...medium rare. Great spot for a night out with friends and family. Everyone knows what they are getting with decisions only on the many tasty drinks they serve. I made reservations for brunch and I was unfortunately extremely underwhelmed and disappointed. I ordered the steak frites, which was delicious and it came with fresh table bread and a choice of side (I chose fruit salad). I ate my entire meal and was still hungry afterwards, which has never happened to me before. My two friends also complained about the small portion sizes. The steak frites was good, but nothing extraordinary. My boyfriend ordered the steak and mushroom eggs benedict and it was horrendous. The steak was well done and chewy and had a gamey taste to it. The egg whites were still runny... If I hadn't tasted how bad my boyfriend's food was, I would've rated this higher because the service was amazing. My husband and I (Asian couple married for 29 yrs) went there for Valentine's Day celebration 2025. We normally do not eat out much so this was a special occasion for us. I made reservations about 3 weeks in advance. I was told to download the app and confirm reservation. The app is very easy to navigate. The menu was preset with Bread/butter, salad, steak entree for $31 and dessert was extra $12. Since it was our 1st time we went with the preset menu and ordered apple pie with vanilla ice-cream for dessert. -bread and butter - warm and delicious -salad - tasty but lettuce wilted - like it was prepared too long ago with the dressing; it was tasty just not crispy. - the medium well steak with their signature sauce was ok. The cut of meat was not the best. But they did provide seconds which we both took. The fries with meal were very tasty. - dessert of apple pie and vanilla ice-cream was shared and it was very good. Overall, it was an average meal and we were very full. We paid $83.50. - As for the service with was quick and attentive. We are not oppose to returning but not on our list of first choice for steak dinner. Parking was available in the building's parking garage. However, there was no spots left for our 5:30pm reservation so we had to park else where. The restaurant had nice ambiance. But all the tables were set very close to each other (again could be special occasion floor plan) so if you were to have a private conversation the next table could hear. Well after 3 years, I finally got to dine at Medium Rare. I took a seat at the bar, since I was dining by myself, I was glad I had a reservation. I felt like I was in a hipster kind of place, with the crooner music and dark decor. Made me feel like I was an important guest! Chances are if you know anything about the restaurant, you know the menu so I won't break that down. I will say I enjoyed everything that I tasted. It's not the highest quality of steak I've ever had, but it's still very tender and the bordelaise sauce is that extra chef's touch that makes it stand out. Get some of that sauce on your fries, who the heck needs ketchup?! And what a pleasant surprise when a server came by with a little extra steak and fries after I'd already wiped out my plate. I didn't get dessert, there just wasn't anything that appealed to me after a long day out and a 3 hour drive home to southern Virginia through the rain. We ended up not being seated until 7:30/7:40 which I think was because they were trying to clear tables as our group had arrived. The service was mediocre as was the food. I asked for medium rare but received well done. They did fix this for me quickly. The salad is just greens and 3 pieces of a singular cherry tomato. Steak was something comparable to flank steak. You do get two helpings of steak during your meal. I also tried the hibiscus margarita which was pretty good. Their special secret sauce was delicious. Overall, the meal wasn't bad but I think they advertise as high end when the meal is just mediocre. I think the price of $54 for the meal and one drink was highly for the quality of food received. $12 for a dessert also stiff in my opinion. I also think it is absurd to charge a vegetarian the same price for a portobello mushroom as the price for the mushroom is not comparable to steak. We had a party of 7 for my friend's birthday. It was easy to make a reservation. We went on Saturday night at 7pm, some of our party had to wait 10 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation. Our waiter told us it was more packed than usual. The salad was light enough that it wouldn't spoil the main meal. Everyone loved the food and we were so surprised when they gave us more food (we were unaware). The sauce was amazing and we had cake afterwards and the slices were huge. I only finished it, because I did not want to waste food and send it back. The steak was also a thin slice and was lukewarm. The bread that they give out was also very tough to chew. My friends and I wanted to recover from our previous night hangover with some bottomless mimosas. We found this place on yelp and decided to check it out. It wasn't super packed so we were able to get seated for our large party of 8. First thing we ordered was obviously the mimosas. The mimosas were pretty good! Were not too strong nor were they weak. One thing I really value with bottomless is the service. Or more specifically the frequency of which they refill the mimosas and how much of a hassle it is to get a refill. I found the service very good. When out pitcher was getting low they would always come by and ask for a refill. If we ever needed another refill we could easily ask them and they would bring it out without much delay. Furthermore they let us drink the bottomless until the end of brunch time which was when they ended it. But that's as for at least 3 hours which I really liked. I got the french toast and egg benedict. The french toast was pretty good. The bread was very savory and they gave alot of quantity of it. It also came with a sausage which was really good. It was soaked in syrup which went very well with the tender meat. The egg benedict was not bad. The meat was very tendor but I didn't not appreciate the combination of all of flavors in this meal. I have had better egg benedict's before but it was not bad. Overall I would give this place a 7/10. For the most part their food was above average. This place has got their deal down to a science. I was absolutely blown away by how well everything was run, not to mention the FOOD! The fixed price menu makes everything easy. After our mixed greens salads, I was excited to see the steak come out, and when it did, I was actually surprised at the small portion. Needless to say, I finished every last bite, and, feeling full, prepared myself to fit in a bit of dessert. But just as I was glancing over at the dessert menu, our waitress returned to the table, bearing another plate of steak and fries for each person in our party. Confused, we told her we'd already had our steak servings. She shook her head, saying, "We only served the first half of your steak. We bring it in two separate servings so every bite will be warm." It's brunch baby!!!! I have a brunch list and I am crossing them off one by one and Medium Rare was up next and I will tell you they did not disappoint at all. Not knowing what to expect besides steak of course, the name is all the hint you need, I made a reservation on Resy for my cousin and I. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated with no wait at all. It was a nice spring day so the outside seating was open but we opted to sit inside. We were able to snag a cute table that was kinda hidden in a semi corner but still gave you dining room vibes!! The menu is super easy to navigate because there is not much to it!! Choices are limited but do not let that discourage you. What they lack in menu choices the flavor fully over compensates. Once you decide what you want, you do get a pre course or an app beyond the tasty bread basket. You will get to choosee from a fruit cup, yogurt parfait or a mixed green salad. I opted for the salad and my cousin got the fruit parfait which he scrapped clean out the cup!!! My salad was tasty!! Whatever the use for their house viniaigrette is what makes the salad since the ingredients are basic. Our meals consisted of Steak and Eggs and Steak Frites which were absolutely delicious. The meal comes perfectly plated, its a pretty sight. Steak was tender, so tender the knife glided through it when you cut it and flavorful!! I was hesitant to have gravy on my steak but in order to get the full flavor adventure I dived right in and I couldn't be happier I did. It goes well with the fries too!!! The fries were yummy as well. Cooked to perfection fries. Needless to say both of our plates were clean clean by the time we finished. They have unlimited mimosa's which are not really unlimited per say. Let me explain, you pay $10 for a choice of about 4 drinks, mimosa, screwdriver, bloody mary and one more I cannot recall that you can interchange but then you get charged 10 cent for each glass of whatever you have. In the grand scheme of things, this is not a bad deal. I would rather this than only having two hours to drink down whatever to be cut off right at the two hour mark. You get my drift! As for dessert, yes we had that too!!! The Key Lime pie is the real deal!!! The candied pearls are the cutest and make you just want to eat every single little one of them. They are heavy handed on the cream on the top with was overkill for me but you can slide that right to the side and get to the pie of the matter. My cousin had the Apple Pie which was so large in portion he ended up taking the half of it home! Portion sizes are generous so there is no way you should be hungry once you are done. Our waiter was cool when he was availible, he was a little flighty but it was all good, his peers where around if needed. The decor is modernly inviting and open, simple yet noticeable. If you have to go to the restroom, which was clean the voice of a familiar skunk fills the are with the frenchiest accent, lol. A nice cold plate for the salad was an unexpected surprise. The steak and Frites serve next were prepared exactly as we requested them. The bread before our meals came with nice butter but was served just a little too crispy. I was glad we were seated outside so I didn't feel bad about the crumbs I got everywhere. I got the Medium Rare's Famous Benedict. The eggs were poached beautifully and it was a good sized portion. I wasn't expecting the steak in the hash to be such large cuts, but i loved the bread it was served on and the hollandaise was delicious. I wouldn't order it again, but that's more because I prefer my steak closer to rare than medium well. My boyfriend got the steak and eggs, ordering his scrambled. Steak was a perfect medium and the lovely pink had me a little jealous. Portion of the steak was great but one more egg would have really made the dish. Fries were tasty! My partner and I came here on a date night and really enjoyed ourselves. We enjoyed their set menu. I do wish they had gluten free bread (or Brazilian cheese balls) available (that would have truly been perfect). We enjoyed our food and felt that we received fair portion sizes. I would say the steak was decent but not outstanding. They were able to make their hot fudge sundae gluten free which was a delicious end to the night (it isn't always gluten free, they have to remove one topping).
