Desert peeps if you haven't been to Meester Zebra in Cat City you have to try it out! It's so good! It's owned and run by a father/son duo, Sr. & Jr. The food is delicious (I had the Cubano sandwich, hubby had a Carne Asada quesadilla, and ordered a Cubano to go for later) and the convo was fab! We hung out and talked about the world the whole time we were there. They have short hours during the off season, so no dinner right now, but food is on point! read more

Meester Zebra came recommended to me today and....I was so glad!! One of the signs out front said "Cuban Sandwiches" and quite frankly if they're so eager to sell these they must be good, and who doesn't love a good Cuban Sandwich? So, I thought I'd give it a shot. Let me say this, this sandwich was the BOMB! Big enough to share, but you won't want to! I managed to gladly eat the entire thing! I will go back often. So now they're telling me they have BBQ on Saturdays and to call ahead because they sell out. You know, I BELIEVE THEM! WOW! This was a pleasant surprise! The previous owner closed the place and some of the previous employee bought it and kicked it up a notch from great to AWESOME! I was very satisfied! I ordered the Smoked 3 meat sandwich on their BBQ Saturday and it was excellent!!! My two sides were BBQ beans and French fires. First couple bites of the fries were hot and crispy, dipped in their wonderful bbq sauce. Then grabbed a bite of the BBQ beans and WOW! Totally blew me away with how flavorful they were! I told my friend he had to try the beans and the look on his face yelled, YUM! At this point I was totally satisfied and have not even taken a bite of my sandwich! I took one bite and put it down and told my friend that the BBQ sandwich was also mind blowing! A few more bites into it I came into a jalapeño which was a nice surprise as I enjoy the heat from them and added a nice extra kick to the sandwich. All that great food was $13.99! Great deal for great, fresh food! Yum yum yum!!! Meester Zebra is going to be back on my regular dining list! Found this OUTSTANDING place in an industrial area of Cathedral City, and it turned out to be a diamond in the rough. Not sure if that is accurate as it is just a diamond. Perfect for sandwiches and according to the menu breakfast (served all day). I had a Cubano and my wife had the Chili Pepper Roast Beef Sandwich. Both were far more than expected. Discovered Saturday is BBQ SATURDAY and looking at the special menu we can hardly wait for next Saturday. Was told the brisket is put in the smoker Friday afternoon, so you can tell it is don right. Cooks bought the place. They were out of avocado and could have offered a discount or free coffee. We asked for well done hash browns and they were the opposite, undercooked. I'll be back because it's close to my mechanic. The Monte Cristo is good, breakfast sandwich is good minus the missing avocado. Jr is super friendly and his menu recommendations were amazing. I loved the Roja sauce reminded me of home and was made perfectly to dip the sandwiches. All the meat was juicy and savory. We are thrilled to have discovered this breakfast and lunch place! I've driven by many times but the road is curvy there and it's easy to miss. My partner had the Cowboy, which he said is his new favorite sandwich, and I had a delicious breakfast sandwich that was wonderfully fresh with sprouts, lettuce, and tomato on top of the eggs and bacon, on a nice fresh brioche roll. Their BBQ options look fantastic, too, we can't wait to try more! The guys we spoke to (owners?) were super friendly and gave us some to-go sauces :-) They also seem to be very involved in community events, told us they had a stand at the Cathedral City Amphitheater for an event last weekend, and are going to be slinging their delicious hash at a veteran's event next weekend. Absolutely incredible experience. Props to Alvin and Jr. for running our new favorite joint in the desert! We felt so much at home here, and really appreciated the patience and connection Jr. offered us for our first visit. I've enjoyed this spot for awhile now and for the most part it's always been quick, hassle free, food is great and the menu has good variety. Customer service is friendly. Only issues I've ever had here has been the bread on some of the sandwiches was dry and the hours of operation are a little odd. I would get food here more often if they didn't close so early. I don't get off work in time to make it here so it's a bummer. Location is quick and convenient, prices are average. I will make sure to come back another time. read more

I was looking for a place to go where they might actually have good chicken fingers for my son. It's difficult to find a kid's menu in Palm Springs. I saw the great reviews on this restaurant and decided to check it out. It is in an odd out of the way industrial looking area off E Palm Canyon Drive. Look for the large zebra outside or you will miss it. It's a small unassuming place but the food was fantastic. We thought they closed at 6 but actually it changed to 3pm so we arrive about 30 minutes before closing but they seemed happy to serve us and didn't rush us out. I got a zebra burger which was absolutely delicious! My very picky 7 year old actually liked the chicken fingers which was amazing. We both agreed that we would have liked a larger portion of their delicious fries (in fact my son took most of mine). My mom got a salad which she said was very good but I forgot the name. Let me just say that my husband and I like two things when we go out...good food AND great service. Today, we had both. After taking our motorhome in for service, we decided to try Meester Zebra. We are so happy we did! It's was early so we both ordered breakfast. We had the pancake breakfast that included eggs your style, bacon, ham, or sausage. My husband had bacon and I had ham.
