Not very happy with my experience at Meineke. I came in at 7:25 this morning reading online and their website that it opened at 7:30. Sat here until about 7:45 before someone even showed up to open the shop. I tell the technician that I just want an oil change and I don't want them checking my car. I have come from places in the past that come up with all these lies that I need new battery's and etc and that why I don't want anyone checking my car. He then tells me I have to have him check my car. Then he comes back telling me that I need a power steering flush and break fluid flush. I just bought this car 7 months ago. So I went to a second shop to go have them checked it out and they told me that my fluids were clean and that they have no idea why they told me that. This is the best Meineke location I have ever been to. I made an appointment for 7:30 AM. When I pulled in at 7:20, they were already open and ready for business! Other locations are just unlocking their doors at this time, and I have to wait another 20 minutes for them to set up. Not here. As soon as I walked in, Julie and another mechanic greeted me. They were able to take my car within five minutes! Their waiting room is the cleanest I have ever seen for any auto shop, including dealerships! It didn't smell like oil, and there weren't random stains and car parts anywhere in sight. They have a Keurig and a mini fridge stock full of bottled water! None of that old coffee burning in a pot for five hours. And the bathroom? So clean! The waiting room and bathroom looked and smelled so fresh and clean. You can definitely tell that they take a lot of pride in their store, as they maintain their shop and provide such excellent service. Julie kept me company while I waited and was such a pleasure. Just moved to Austin from San Antonio. Great experience immediately upon arrival! Took a bit for the oil change but was well worth the wait. The store manager, Dave, was very helpful and honest. It's hard to find a place that doesn't make you feel like you're being scammed because you are a woman and they think you don't know about vehicle maintenance. Went and used a Groupon that I bought that included tire rotation and oil change. No where in the fine print does it say anything about extra charges for a filter and was not told before they put it on my car. Staff did not tell me about the extra charge and assumed I was okay with it. Horrible service, so if you like getting ripped off come here. read more

Although the wait took a little bit, they were very nice and thorough with my vehicle. When my tire pressure warning light came on the day after my oil change, they asked me to come in and saw me right away and got it sorted out. Highly recommend! read more

I went to this location for an oil change today and received great advice about my car and wonderful customer service from a gentleman who I think was named Joel. During my wait there, there was a very verbally aggressive middle aged man who suffered heavily from little man syndrome who constantly tried to interrupt Joel while he was assisting other customers. The rude man was on the phone already complaining to someone else too about some stupid little price difference. Thank you to the 2 gentlemen that helped me today. I brought my car in for an evac and recharge for my air conditioning. The man at the front desk was really friendly and even struck up a conversation with me while I waited. He offered me coffee and water and told me I could change the channel to whatever I would like to watch. He explained the rewards program to me and checked me out with ease. The man that worked on my car was great as well. He got the car done in a surprisingly short amount of time and the air blows soooo cold now. He even put a dye in the system for me so I could come back and have it checked to find the location of the leak I have been experiencing! We were so happy to have happened upon this place! We had found out that our back brake light was out while getting our car inspected at the sticker stop and soon came to find out in a Hyundai Sonata we would need professionals to fix this for us. We walked in and the owner and Joel were extremely helpful,friendly and efficient! They went above and beyond to help us on a Saturday at noon when it's gets very busy! My fears were completely alleviated when I spoke to Anthony over the phone the day before and was offered same day service. Stay away. I sat in their tiny, noisy waiting room waiting for a quote on a brake job. I listened to the guy upsell person after person on unnecessary work. Like $100 to diagnose engine lights on one person's car. FREE anywhere else you go. I probably should have said something. After almost 2 hours of waiting, the guy finally has my quote. Bunch of extra, unneeded stuff just like everyone else I heard him dealing with. Over $450 for a front brakes job. Guy started vomiting BS all over me, so I took my car down the street to StopShop. StopShop was honest, comfortable, and reasonably priced. Pretty easy choice. Just go there instead. Meineke upselling...Jiffy Lube breaking my tire lug bolts...these places are just the worst... read more

I just had my brakes repaired here and I want to tell you about my great experience. My mom's ramp Van is lowered and has farings to cover the conversion of the floor. Experienced technicians took all sorts of caution to make sure they were not damaged entering and exiting their lift. This come from experience and saved me a lot of grief. Now let me tell you about the great Diagnostic and repair work. I had 2 intermittent traction and brake lights that were flashing or staying on. The technician had all sorts of codes that he could have charged me for but instead he Identified the actual physical problems and fixed those first to see if it solved the errors. It is a leak inside the rear drum brake cylinders. It was a mess to clean up but he cleaned them so well and all the abs sensors that when the work was complete, the error lights were off. This was all done at a very reasonable price and without taking the opportunity to up charge the customer. The manager treated the customer like he owned the place. They weren't very crowded for a Friday. They should be packed with customers. read more

There was a miscommunication with another employee earlier in the day that caused me to feel frustrated, but Alex turned my experience around, and wasn't even frustrated that I had been so angry with him on the phone earlier about the miscommunication. I don't live in Austin, unfortunately, cuz otherwise Dave would be my mechanic! Traveling from Seattle on a tour and the van had a braking issue and the RSC light and chime were going crazy. Dave got us in and out in a few hours toward closing time and got us going strong! He had to order parts even but said he'd work after hours to get us going again, but he didn't even need to! 5 stars!!!! read more

I normally do all my own maintenance & repairs on my vehicles. Needed oil change but all my tools were at my home up near Abilene area. I searched i-net for "best oil change price / deal in ATX" and 4 local sites came up through Groupon ... my 1st experience with Groupon as well, and I like it. This place was best deal for oil change, plus I went for the tire rotation & balancing as part of the package too ($59) since it had been a while. Set appointment for 8:00 AM Saturday on Friday night at about 8:00 PM. Got there about 5 minutes early. Got my truck right in, had fresh coffee & bottled water available, & TV (with remote in my hands! Ha). They took care of all as expected in about an hour, and I personally enjoyed talking with Anthony Geraci (Owner) when he wasn't busy with other customers. Can't say what his mechanical background is but he is a good "customer service fella", and his garage crew seemed to know their stuff. I hear the young lady working in the garage is a top brake service tech. Can only say she was hustling the whole time when I happened to look out there & always had a pleasant smile. Anthony refused to let me pay for the 6th quart of oil required for my particular vehicle ... (Groupon deal included 5 qts.). Unheard of in todays marketplace, especially in ATX! As I noted, I do my own work when possible but I will have no issues about returning to this shop if / when I need to. The restroom was updated and spotless, if that matters to any. I brought my 2014 VW Passat into Meineke on March 4, 2019 due to my check engine light was on. I had previously taken it to AutoZone and received a free reading of the error codes which advised me to have a tune up completed. My car was sputtering and the codes determined I was having misfires. After I dropped the car off, within about 2 hours the supervisor called me back and stated that I did in fact need a tune up and a fuel injector cleaning. He stated that the spark plugs for VW Passat's were fairly expensive and he did not feel comfortable charging me about $40 per spark plug so he wanted to order an off brand that was less expensive. He said the part would arrive the next day and he will complete all the work at the same time. I went and picked my car up that same day with the intention to bring it back on March 5th. I brought the car back the very next day March 5th and he stated the spark plugs have arrived and they will complete the work. After a few hours he called me back and told me the car was ready to be picked up. He charged me $297.78 to clean fuel injectors, intake valves and throttle body, and they also claim to have replaced all four spark plugs. There is memo on the invoice that they replaced ignition coils, adjustments as required. Inspect balance of ignition system and related components. When I picked my car up it works fine for the first day. March 7th on my way home from work my car began to sputter and have the same exact issues as before I brought it in to Meineke. It eventually died and my check engine light came on again. I could not bring it back to Meineke because of the distance I live from my job. I was able to get it running again and took it to the dealer that sold me the car. I advised them I had just took the car to Meineke and had the spark plugs replaced fuel injector cleaned and some of the coils replaced. The dealer took the car and performed and inspection on it. What the dealer determined was that the spark plugs where actually the original spark plugs and had never been replaced. They provided me with pictures and the actual spark plugs they took out that still have the VW emblem on them. If Meineke ordered an off brand spark plug why would they still have the VW emblem on them? The spark plugs have worn threads, rust, and did not look like they were anywhere close to 2 days old. They also stated that ALL four coils were broken. I have both complete invoices of all the work completed by both auto repair shops. As well as a write up completed by the dealer stating that the spark plugs where never replaced and all four coils where broken. If Meineke indeed completed the work, they charged me for how could they miss all four coils being broken and how could these spark plugs be so worn. I ended up paying the dealer another $1021.22 on March 8th on top of the almost $300 I already paid to Meineke. I have returned to the Meineke and the manager agreed to pay me back for the 4 spark plugs they CLAIM to have replaced. A pitiful $79.96 after I have just spent over $1300.00 to have my car working again. I need this situation looked into ASAP or I will contact the local news station, and retain a lawyer. read more

First time I've been to a Meineke and my experience was AMAZING! I had purchased a Groupon for an oil change and tire rotation. Usually when I call businesses ahead of time, I get a "idc" tone when I mention a Groupon but when I called the Burnet/Anderson Ln location it was shockingly not the case! David had answered the phone at 7:35 am (5 min after open), very pleasant, cheerful, and helpful. He took my name and told me to come by ASAP and he's get working on my car. When I finally made it in, he was just as pleasant in person and very informative. I left my car there and went to work. He called me when he came across an issue and gave me some recommendations and for the first time EVER, I was not pressured nor was made feel guilty for not getting the extra services he recommended. When I picked up my car, he provided me with my paperwork along with a quote of the services he recommend and proceeded to say, "when your ready, come on back." He gave me my keys, waved and said have a great weekend with a smile. The whole experienced felt like something out of a movie...and I know this sounds korny, but the whole experience made my day...the rest of my day was fantastic! Domino affect!!! read more

Bought a groupon for an awesome $$$ price!!! Gotta love groupon! I made appt on line and when I arrived next day as scheduled I was greeted and welcomed. Service was quick all info taken no issues. I was given an eta of an hour I had my 2 year old with me so I had a stroller and we strolled and adventures out and about. I called ahead to make an appointment. They set me up for later that day. I dropped my car off at the given time and they said it would take about an hour to complete my oil change. Why did I make an appointment? I left the car with them. After an hour, I called asking when it would be completed. They told me 30 minutes. Shortly after they called me back and said that it would take longer. After 30 minutes I showed back up to ask if they had started. They told me they were about to bring it in the garage. I was already late for an appointment so I had to pick up my car without getting an oil change. I'll have to find some other garage on my next day off. Don't bother making an appointment. read more

Have you ever had to wait for your car and *not* minded? Me neither. I made an appointment online and for an oil change and tire balance. When I arrived, I was promptly greeted and they took my car in right away. Unfortunately, they discovered one of the screws (lugs maybe?) on my tire had been stripped by a previous mechanic. They gave me my options, let me watch the procedure and ordered a replacement screw from a nearby Meineke ASAP. Then they discovered I'd been driving with a firmly implanted nail in one of my tires, so after showing it to me, they ordered a tire and it was also there ASAP. All in, I was there less than two hours and ended up having a nice chat with the owner, Anthony, while I waited. The waiting area was small but new and clean, and the bathroom was actually very nice (that feels strange to comment on, but based on some of the bathrooms I've seen at other repair shops, it feels noteworthy). The price seemed reasonable for an oil change, tire balance, new tire and replaced screws/fixed threads. As a woman, I'm very wary of being taken advantage of when I get my car serviced, but I never once felt that way. I'm bummed we're relocating, because otherwise, I would have been a repeat customer! read more
