Stopped here on Friday night after some shopping and wow it was busy! I have been to different mellow mushroom locations before but this was my first time at this location. I love that they have plenty of vegetarian options and good sized portions as well. They also list calories on the menu which is helpful but also stressful haha. My BF and I were really craving pretzel bites and cheese so we started off with that. It took them like forever to get them to us but they explained it was given to the wrong table. The bites taste nothing like pretzels but they are good, I think we were expecting actual pretzel bites with salt. The cheese sauce was amazing. We also ordered a veggie calzone to share. Good thing we shared cause it was massive. We both thought too much dough not enough filling, but agreed that it tasted very good. My husband and I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant. I have to say that we really enjoyed ourselves. We were greeted at the door and seated fairly swiftly for the place being so busy. We were seated outside and even though it was quite warm, they had the water spritzers on and that cooled us down quite a bit. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He brought us our beers very quickly. We ordered the pretzel bites with beer cheese. I do love those pretzel bites. They are very light and fluffy and go so well with their craft style beer. We also ordered a house special pizza and a cheese calzone with onions and black olives and pepperoni on it. The calzone was huge! Everything was delicious and of course we couldn't eat it all. We will have at least 3 more meals at home. I love seeing smiling faces again. This will be part of the reason that keeps bringing me back with the main reason being the food, of course. read more

Great pizza. Great Hoagies. Not so great salads. Ordered the Greek Salad the other evening. Menu indicated that there was romaine and iceberg lettuce. Unfortunately it was just iceberg. What makes it worse was half of the iceberg lettuce was brown and old. The toppings were good but the lettuce was bad. I met my nieces for lunch. I'm proud I didn't cause a scene as the food was beyond subpar. I ordered a calzone without ricotta. The ham was fatty and the salami was so tough I struggled to cut through it. The taste was that of spoiled or bad meat and the server was overly busy. She wasn't focused and so I chose not to cause a scene. I felt like I was being poisoned. My niece's apple had dark spots throughout and they didn't bother to make it look nicer. Finally tried Mellow Mushroom and wow! Absolutely outstanding! Great beer selection, including some excellent local choices. The bartender was very knowledgeable about all of the beer as well. The hot wings were good, the chicken has an interesting, almost smoky, flavor reminiscent of barbecue. The pizza was very good, the dough and crust were unique and had tons of flavor. They have a cheap lunch menu as well! Lots of vegetarian options. Free pretzel bites with check in, but the pretzel bites where mini pizza dough bites and the cheese tasted more like beer than cheese. I also ordered the Greek salad and that was good and a large was enough for 5 people! Only gripe is that I went on a Thursday and the service was super slow. The atmosphere is fun and almost Brewery-esque. I had a super good Stone IPA on limited tap. The menu is large with all your favorite Italian bites for appetizers AND A TON OF VEGAN OPTIONS!! But really this place is all about the pizza. The crust is just so damn good. It's a little crispy on the outside and flight and fluffy on the inside. It's kinda making my mouth water right thinking about it. They offer daiya cheese, which is lovely, but I usually just opt for no cheese. Last time I went I got a calzone and it was perfect. Went in last night to the Happy Valley Phoenix location with my girlfriend for a little date. Ordered a beer to start and the waiter said "You're 21 right?" and proceeded to get me a beer. After not checking my ID, my 20 year old girlfriend ordered a cocktail and he indeed got it for her. Had the Spinach artichoke Dip to start and the Buffalo Chicken pizza as an entree; both were delicious! Unfortunately this experience was 2/5 stars due to the terrible service we received. Waiter was not attentive at all; even when not busy. He walked passed us many times while we sat with empty drinks, did not check on us after the food was delivered and took 30+ minutes for us to get the check. Meanwhile he was visibly talking with co-workers and seeming to have a 'fun' time at work. I have been in the industry for years so I understand if a server is busy it may be longer wait times... but this server had plenty of time on his hands and still neglected us. I typically tip at least 20% but this waiter did not earn any tip. I do not recommend this place until steps of service are implemented. read more

The service here is horrible I have seen so many people from the patio have to come in and get their food and drink orders because nobody helps them on the patio. To be honest , I've had to write a review in regards to the several bad experiences I've had ordering for take out. I'll go ahead say I love Mellow Mushroom and have been a loyal customer for years but lately the customer service and the level to attention to detail has lacked tremendously. My 1st experience was a weekend night , I ordered two orders of wings and large pizza. They took my order and said it was going to be ready in 25 mins . I arrive 30 minutes later and they provide the order of wings but no pizza, they tell me to hold on about 10 minutes while they go look for my order only to come back to tell me my order was given to someone else by mistake . No apologies or discount provided and was advised they will make another one and to wait about 25 minutes. Eventually I was given the order correctly but by then , the wings we ordered were cold and provided a less than appealing dinner for us . My 2nd experience I was already feeling weary of ordering from you again and despite warnings because of the lack of customer service last time , I decided to give it another shot . I ordered two full orders of hot sandwiches (Cheese & steak and Italian ) , she confirmed the order back to me and again was provided an estimated time of pick up of 20-30 minutes . I arrive 30 minutes later to pick up the order and they provided a bag with the items inside which I took to check everything inside my vehicle . The order was 50% correct as they provided a full order of the cheese steak and another sandwich that was not a hot Italian . I went inside and let them know they had my order wrong and returned the incorrect sandwich to request they make the order correct. They had the manager come over to confirm my order and apologized , said to wait about 10 minutes while they make it fresh again. After some time , I got another bag with a fresh sandwich inside and just to confirm my order again , I pulled out the item and to my surprise it was a HALF order of a California Club. It got very frustrating at this point since my first incident with the pizza that was given away with my wings being cold from waiting to now having my cheese steak hoagie get cold from waiting and from getting the second hoagie done incorrectly twice now . I went inside obviously extremely disappointed with the lack of service and again I was promised they would make it right again , I expressed my frustration with the person who took my pick up order and as well as management but nothing was provided to compensate for my time or their mistakes on my order than an apology and took the wrong order sandwich back. A couple minutes later, the lady who took my take out order came back and asked if I wanted the half order of the wrong sandwich while I wait for the new one to come out, I took it since she mentioned it was a good choice as well for me to try . I waited about about 35 minutes to get that order corrected and then left with half my food cold from the incident . Ultimately I was extremely disappointed and embarrassed at the lack of effort , detail and concern over the multiple mistakes they have done in the last couple of experiences. While the food quality is something I have always raved about in the past , that same level of attention needs to be implemented and considerably improved with customer service especially when it comes to take out orders during a time where people prefer picking up food to eat at home versus eating at the restaurant. read more

I've been coming here since it opened at this location. Service is always pretty good. Their 20+ draft beer selection is always awesome! Their pizzas are the best. They are a style of their own. I love their happy hour with half off appetizers and beer. They may have backed off on the beer discount lately :(, but still not bad. My wife loves their wings. Hostess(s) did not greet us and i had to interupt their conversation to get them to seat us and they were visibly annoyed that i did so, and with a mostly empty facility they sat us next to a huge group of baseball kids and their wasted parents, covered in mud and smelling like body odor they were also obscenely loud and running around without shoes unsanitary and unacceptable for a restaurant. I gave this 2 stars because my previous experience here was positive. Also our server was attentive and accommodating... but those hostesses got to go... i went up to ask them where the bathroom was and they didnt even stop having a conversation one of them just pointed over their shoulder without so much as a word of acknowledgement or a glance in my direction. I was supremely disappointed and both me and my boyfriend were put in such a foul mood this really ruined what was an otherwise good day. *edit* lowered to one star because when i approached the hostess to ask to be reseated (because we could not hear eachother over the drunk adults and out of control children) she acted like i was retarded and said that there were no other open spots which was untrue shewas just so engrossed in her conversation with her friend she couldnt be bothered... It made me so angry we had our server (who was excellent) box our pizza so we could leave. The menu is basic but has enough on it to cover the kids who get tired of pizza. We really enjoyed the pizza and tried three different variety's. All were good and we all loved the crust!! Drink selection is above average especially for me the IPA fan. Only slight knock was a late arriving salad that was just okay. Dressing quality makes or breaks a Caesar. Otherwise we were totally well taken care of by Thaddeus who was totally chill but super efficient.
