Unpopular opinion: I do not like fondue. Clarification: I don't like fondue when I have to cook my own food. However, dipping anything in chocolate I'm 100% good with. Due to the above, I'm not a fan of the original Melting Pot, but having looked over this menu before venturing here, I love that they have plenty of non-fondue options. My friend and I went for brunch, when they offer a special brunch menu. We started with cocktails, of course. I tried the Blackberry Lavender Shrug, with vodka, vinegar, blackberry and lavender syrup, lemon juice and club soda. I really enjoyed the unusual flavor; I never would have thought of putting vinegar in a drink but it really cut down the sweetness. For my meal I tried the Hangover Brunch Burger, and it was perfect. It came with fondue cheese (ordered on the side), fried egg, and bacon. I loved that I could pay a couple of bucks extra for the pickle fries, because I really liked those - and loved the "angry ranch" dressing they were served with for dipping. The restaurant was clean and bright, the server efficient and engaging, and the food came out in a timely manner and was delicious. What a treat this place is and what a great location! (except parking)... But got here early before a show and sat at the bar and ordered some yummy stuff off the menu for happy hour. I went with the cream ale and had the Fuego fondue... it was really enough for 2, but my friend ordered the Monterrey and although it had blue cheese and almonds in it (not for me!) I took a teeny tiny taste just for the flavor of the cheese because it was white queso, which I really like and it was such a tiny dab I think I liked it, but did not want to taint that flavor with any blue cheese and almonds. The almonds were easy to get around, they were slivered and on top in the middle... Both fondues were served with the same dippers, chips or tortillas, broccoli, tiny potatoes, grape tomatoes and a tasty breadstick - maybe pretzel-like... it might have been fun to have a couple of different dippers for each of the different fondues, but that's just me being picky. The service was super nice, they are young, our bartender was ShaWn, he was really nice and helpful. There are some questions still they had because I ask questions, but overall, this is a great spin off from the traditional melting pot where you can still get your fondue on! This place has a carefully curated menu and cool sounding drinks, but the execution was so far off that it fell flat. We were a large group, and service was good. Our tables were in the front corner and that has to be the worst place to sit, no airflow and super stuffy, making it uncomfortable. The drinks were pretty awful- we tried several different ones and they just didn't impress. The steak frites was the worst steak I've seen in a while. When it was ordered, the waiter didn't ask how it should he cooked, which was an ominous sign; well, it came out well done with undercooked fries. Total miss. The salmon was good, but could have been better. The sticky ribs were excellent and I highly recommend them- they are spicy though. We ordered both cheese and chocolate fondues and those were really good. The only complaint is the fruit is now cut much smaller, so not that good. Apple slices are comically tiny and the bread doesn't include bread chunks, which were really good. The chocolate was tasty though. Sangria was boring, their version of a Moscow mule was horrible, but their smoky old fashioned was good- just a tad sweet. Food 4/5: I have had the raclett burger, the chicken waffles, the broccoli au gratin, Brussels and bacon, and the SoBowl, and fondue fries. I should've known better than to get the burger here... I also had the fondue cheese fries. Those are pretty tasty! I like all the toppings on it. I will say that the french fries could be cooked a little bit better. It still had a little bit of the past interior meeting. If they had not overcooked the broccoli, it could've been really good... The flavors are really good. I think they should roast the brussels sprouts instead to give it a crunch rather I had soggy, brussels sprouts. The chicken and waffles, though, we SO yummy! I got a hefty portion of the chicken, which was nice and crispy and juicy! This was my favorite dish! My only comment on this one is at the waffle didn't have a nice chew to it rather it was a little bit more on the crumbly side. Otherwise, a very good dish very yummy! I think that the tuna should be marinated a little longer in the Ponzo sauce... To give it more flavor. I think that the salad overall has a lot of fresh and yummy components. We had a very nice and attentive waitress who was very helpful in letting me know what menu items were gluten-free or could be modified to be gluten-free, such as the tomato soup without bread. I had a fondue pot with a very large shrimp, broccoli, and mushrooms. I thought the presentation was great, the food tasted good. I only had 2 issues: The large shrimp was way overcooked to the point that it was rubbery, and also, my fondue pot wasn't hot enough, so the cheese was only halfway melted, It was being lit with a tealight candle, which just wasn't hot enough. This was a recommendation from a friend and now I can't wait to tell others to try this spot. We did brunch before a show at the Straz Center and it was pure perfection. As it was our first time, the server excellent laid out the menu, gave some of her favorites but let us have enough time to make a solid choice instead of rushing. From there, we had to try the fondue; we chose a house-made option for our first time and it did not disappoint. When I go again, I'll ask to swap out the potatoes for more broccoli - especially for breakfast since all of the meals come with the same ones. It took one hour to receive our cheese fondue and longer to receive our other items. Additionally, when an item was prepared incorrectly and we asked for it to be corrected we saw/heard a staff member roll their eyes in response and complain about the request, which definitely did not feel good as a customer at the restaurant trying to enjoy a night out. The food was just alright, I much prefer the regular Melting Pot restaurant. Additionally, the fondues should come with additional mix-ins and the pretzel sticks that came with the cheese were cold. A few of us were in the area for the Gasparilla Art fair and wanted some lunch. I checked Google maps and was surprised to see the Melting Pot, which I had always wanted to try but never been to. We walked over to check out the menu and were pleasantly surprised with the reasonable prices and selection - there was something for everyone. Inside it was bright and cheery and full of folks from all walks of life - a birthday party, families, couples. I ordered the shrub which was super refreshing after a hot day outdoors, and the customized white wine based fondue and mixed in mushrooms and garlic. It came with so many delicious items to dip: roasted potatoes, tortilla chips, green apple slices, cherry tomatoes, broccoli and a soft pretzel. I also ordered the crispy Brussel sprouts. It was a dreamy lunch and enough for everyone at the table to have some bites, but plenty for me for lunch. My friends got the goat cheese and fig bread (which I sampled) and it was so good with crunch almond slices on top. We had such a lovely time. Our waitress let us know this location is closing due to low sales, which is a shame. I wish the team the best of luck and hope the company will pursue this lighter fair version of The Melting Pot, I found it absolutely delightful, accessible and affordable. This is a great new concept by Melting Pot. In the past my friends and I have only done Melting Pot for special occasions because it was pricey and it took a long time. Now anyone can have that experience in a shorter time, and for less moola. I made reservations because I wasn't sure how busy they would be and my friend and I had tickets to a show at the Straz. This is an awesome place ro go before a show there because it is only a block away. I got there before my friend and was able to order a drink and scope out the menu. When my friend arrived we decided to get a cheese course to share and then a chocolate course ro share. It was a perfect light dinner before the show. The cool thing about ordering like this is that the cheese and chocolate courses are about the same price so it makes splitting the bill easier as well. I love the fun, modern atmosphere here. It is inviting to people of all ages. There where families with young kids as well as a group that looked like they were there for happy hour. There is also a lot of bar seating so if you wanted to go in my yourself you would have a place to sit. The cheese is my favorite course. I can see myself getting a cheese course for myself as dinner. There are also several options on the menu that are not fondue so if you have folks in your group that don't want fondue there should be something for them. Service was also good. Very friendly and assisted with suggestions as well! Food and drinks all came out super fast! Came here for drinks and apps and this is the perfect spot for this or even with a date! For drinks I had one of the signature drinks on the menu called the Key Lime Colada and this was perfect not to sweet and so refreshing! I also tried the TPA drink and I was not a fan of this one. It's made with a Smokey Mezcal and I was thinking it would be more like a Spicy Margarita but Mike quickly replaced it for me and advised this is not one of his favorites either! For food we had The Monterey Cheese Fondue and added tortilla chips to the dippers! This is the perfect appetizer for 2 ppl not to much or too little! Super tasty would definitely recommend! Off of the appetizers we ordered the Crispy Veggie Potstickers and these were just ok. Seems like a rather small portion for the price but flavor was good. No complaints about it other than that but I probably would not order these again. To finish we ordered the Flaming Turtle Fondue and this was very tasty! I'm a huge fan of the Melting Pot (I mean, what's not to love about a giant bowl of melted cheese?), so when I saw this new concept was opening soon, I would excitedly tell my husband, "We have to go there!" every single time we drove by. My chance finally came last week, when some friends were in town and wanted to grab dinner to catch up. We started with drinks, and since I'm pregnant, I opted for the "Hot Honey Pineapple Spritz" on their mocktail menu. This is made with pineapple and lime juices, hot honey-infused syrup, ginger beer, orange bitters, and a slice of dried pineapple on top. This drink was refreshing and tasty, though it does have a bit of a kick thanks to the hot honey syrup (which kept me from drinking it too quickly - this was more of a sipping drink). My husband got the smoked old fashioned, and so did his friend, while his wife got the 813 Spritz -- all of which got rave reviews from the table. When it came to ordering food, everything looked good. Of course, I needed cheese, so we got the Alpine fondue with roasted garlic and basil pesto, while the others ordered the queso fuego. At $12.50 each, these were a little on the pricey side for the amount you got, but the alpine one was just as delicious tasting as it is at a regular Melting Pot. They don't bring you nearly enough bread (just two soft pretzel sticks plus some veggies), so I asked for more and someone quickly brought it to the table. The others really liked the queso fuego, but I was a bit underwhelmed by it (honestly, it just tasted like any queso you can get at a Mexican restaurant). That's not to say it wasn't good, but it's not really what I have in mind when I want fondue. For our meals, we all decided to order our own things but with the agreement that we'd share amongst the table. My husband ordered the crispy chicken caprese panini with pickle fries, while the others got the fondue burger (with regular fries) and the sticky ribs (with mac and cheese). I got the margherita flambe flatbread -- which means they literally light it on fire at your table. It was still light out so you couldn't see much of a fire, but I'm told it's more impressive-looking at night. The "garlic crunch" on the flatbread was great, as was the balsamic reduction, but I probably wouldn't get it again, considering how good everyone else's meals were. My husband's chicken caprese panini was, hands down, the favorite entree of the group. We ALL raved about it. Seriously, so good. Also, those pickle fries were fantastic. They're pickle spears, but cut into the size of a regular fry, so it's not a giant spear like you get at some places. They were the perfect size and consistency (and, when we had leftovers to bring home, they reheated in the air fryer quite nicely). The fondue burger was great as well - it's two thinner smashed patties stacked together (which I prefer versus a single giant patty), with plenty of gooey cheese on top. I didn't try the sticky ribs since I don't usually eat pork, but they looked good. However, I did dig into that mac and cheese, and it was delicious - not dry at all, plenty of cheesy goodness with panko breadcrumbs on top. We were all pretty full, but how do you NOT order chocolate fondue here? This time we just agreed to split it, so it was dark chocolate with marshmallow cream and salted caramel swirled in. This is just what downtown Tampa needed - a fun, casual restaurant. The food is not fantastic, but you'll still leave smiling with the help of the upbeat staff and happy vibe of the restaurant. Kudos to the hiring manager who put together what looks like a winning team. The concept of the small cheese fondue portions is fantastic, but not nearly as tasty or bubbly, warm delicious like the actual Melting Pot. They would have fared better with a different name to avoid the inevitable comparison. We tried several items on the menu and agreed the burgers and fries or the ribs were the best meal items. Watched the news spot on this place and we love the melting pot so we are excited to try this new option. We had lunch reservations but probably didn't need them. We were seated right away. Joclyn was our server and she was great. Took really good care of us. I got the bottomless mimosas which if you are going to have more than 2 you should get. And who only has 2? For food we started with some pickle fries. These were ok but I think because the pickles are cut so thin that they should cut back on the breading. The breading was delicious but I didn't taste much of the pickles. Also they came out a little mushy. We had them drop them for a little longer to crisp them up. For our mains Deb got some alpine fondue. Cool presentation and a bit of nostalgia for the OG. I had the raclette burger. Great flavors but I will say the burger blend was just ok. It is a substantial burger though. The rosemary fries were tasty but these needed more cooking as well. I don't like limp, soggy fries. For the ending we got a chocolate fondue of course. So cool with the little personal serving. Overall a really cool vibe and with the exception of a few things the food was so good! After getting served plenty of IG reels advertising Melting Pot Social, I finally decided to give it a try. We came in Friday afternoon and we're instantly greeted. Service was honestly very friendly and attentive throughout our entire visit from the moment we stepped in. I can't recall our servers name but he was very helpful with recommendations and brought over a small birthday surprise at the end for my friend. We ordered the Monterey Fondue for our cheese course, the Sticky Ribs, and ended with the Wildberry Fondue for desert. First things first, order the ribs! Trust me, you won't regret it! It's sooo good! Even my friend who's not typically a rib eater, told me she couldn't get enough. It was so good we forgot to snap a photo! Now for the fondue, to be honest, I was not impressed. The Monterey cheese fondue was good but the dippers were disappointing. The pretzel bread tasted like it had been sitting at the end of a fridge for far too long. It tasted funky and we couldn't eat it after two bites. We wished there was an option for a fresh baby baguette or something since bread is the main dipper you want for cheese. A lot of potatoes come with the dish and not enough apples. Skip the mini corn dogs. The tomatoes and broccoli were probably my favorites when it came to dipping. The Wildberry Swirl fondue, there take on a white chocolate fondue was good but let's be real.. it's not white chocolate. It tasted a lot more like sweetened condensed milk mixed with a berry purée more than white chocolate. As a white chocolate lover, I was bummed out. We enjoyed it nonetheless and felt the dippers matched the fondue well. Overall, I'm not sure I'll be coming back unless it's for the sticky ribs. The food was pretty good. Here's what we had. -Fondue Burger. It was said to be pretty tasty, with the fondue saving the day. Really great fondue. The patties though, were a bit bland. I'm not sure if they were, but they kinda had the feel of premade patties. -Chicken and waffles. Really great! The chicken, the waffle, the sauce... all wonderful! -Very Berry Waffle. It was a pretty standard waffle with some berries on it. This was where the cost felt a little high at $17 for a single waffle. But it was pretty! The staff and servers are awesome! David was very educated on the menu and gave some great recommendations!! Their fondue is so good! Vince and Lauren were extremely friendly and made my experience here amazing. I highly recommend visiting this location! P.S. The employees should NOT have to pay for parking. Corporate really needs to get their act together! They should provide parking passes to employees on shift! Shame on them for not having FREE parking for their employees. I have been to Melting Pot Social a few times and it's pretty good overall. The food has been good, service is good, and the fondue is yummy. The location is perfect for going to a show at the Straz or doing something else downtown. Make a reservation, especially if there's a show at the Straz. The prices are a little high for the sandwiches because you are not getting anything overly fancy. It's a solid spot if you are looking for something casual. read more

I went there for a post-galentines nightcap and dessert and ooooh what a treat it was! The late night menu was affordable and also had some great boozy fondue options. The service was great the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I am a fan of the strawberry and rice crispies dippers and the server was accommodating about refilling that for me. I love dark chocolate fondue and their boozy bourbon pecan option was a perfect late night indulgence! Definitely a date night go to!! read more

We ate here before a show at The Straz. We shared 3 apps. And each got a drink. I loved the 813 Spritz! We had the potstickers, tuna tostada and the Mac n cheese. Well, I'd give the food 3 stars but the atmosphere & service deserved a 5. We had a large group and our server was quick (as she could be), helpful, & didn't mind splitting checks for us. I wish I could leave a better review... The fondue was just pretty good--not as good as the real Melting Pot and the pretzel bun seemed stale. Came here with a group of friends for dessert after we had dinner elsewhere. We had the flaming turtle fondue and the bourbon fondue. It comes with rice, crispy treats, strawberries, pretzels, bananas for dipping. My favorite was the flaming turtle. They actually light it in front of you. The bourbon fondue was good however, it just had a very strong bourbon taste so if you're a bourbon lover, that's the one for you. It was all very delicious, and they even brought out more rice, crispies, and pretzels for us to dip when we ran out. The drinks were OK. I definitely wouldn't come here for drinks. Some things are generational. They just don't translate to other eras or ages. Thankfully, fondue isn't one of those--melted cheese, my friends, is eternal. And Melting Pot Social is making sure everyone knows that. This is a new take on an old favorite. It's brighter, younger and faster than the full-on Melting Pot in Carrollwood (which is, btw, one of my all-time favorite spots). While the o.g can be an entire evening-a full experience-a total event... this is more of a drop-in... an accompaniment to your day or night. That's echoed in the high-top communal seating that's available as well as center bar seating-with a view to the open kitchen/prep area (there are also booths and tables) While the original is dark and sort of sultry-sexy-mysterious-romantic "big night out"... this is louder, lighter, chattier. There are glass windows everywhere and chalkboard signage. This is a sunny, youthful, more casual iteration and the whole staff seems interested and engaged. You get the feeling that they like what they do-and the people they serve. I love all of that. So, the menu. Basically, it's three parts: cheese to start... a selection of apps and mains... and chocolate to finish. There's a lot of variety. You can skip the whole cheese/chocolate thing and just order entrees. There's something for everyone. My friend and I each decided to get our own cheese orders. You can choose from the three chef-created blends or go with your own. We each chose to create our own. I went with the Alpine base (you can also get cheddar and other base flavors) and you can add three accompaniments. My friend did that-adding elbow mac and bacon (I forget her third add). It looked good and she liked it-but I'm glad I kept it simple and just enjoyed the cheese plain with the dippers. They included: broccoli, tortilla chips, green apple slices, roasted potatoes, grape tomatoes and pretzel bread (divine!) and you can sub out any of those for more of the other. It's all served on a board, with the cheese in a small, cast iron bowl that's kept warm by a tea light candle. It's amazing how filling it was! I only had room for an app after that (fried green tomatoes) and couldn't even muster room for the chocolate fondue course (I know, I know. I'm disappointed in myself)... but my friend rallied for both. She had the steak frites entree and then, for the chocolate, chose one of the chef-created blends: s'mores! It came with bananas, strawberries, pretzel rods, marshmallows, pound cake and Rice Krispy treats with Fruity Pebbles. It's served the same way: in little bowl over a candle, on a board with dippers-and ran about $15. Oh wait! I forgot to mention cocktails (I may forget to *mention them, but I never forget to *order them). I went with the TPA, which was a smoky mezcal citrusy lime concoction that I truly enjoyed. It's small but really layered and tasty. It blended perfectly with the cheese course. I would have had wine after that, but they didn't have Pinot Grigio on the menu. Chardonnay felt heavy to me right then, so I Diet Coked it from there. (I've disappointed you again, haven't I?) Our server was very sweet... which added to the overall warm tone of the visit. Things took awhile to come out... but that was okay, we weren't in a hurry. I would definitely come back--especially if seeing a show at the Straz (which is just a few steps away). It's a fun spot and a cool concept. I still prefer the original... there's nothing like those tabletop giant cheese/chocolate pots... but this is a sunny, fast alternative. If you're heading over: it's at the corner of Ashley and Tyler, right next to (north of) the John Germany public library. There's parking in the same building as the restaurant. The entrance ramp is right next to (west of) Rumble boxing gym. It's a shared garage, with retail spots on the first floor and residence parking above that. There are quite a few spots for visitors, but they're narrow/tight-definitely don't bring the big suv or jumbo minivan. It ran us $4.30 for 2 1/2 hours. This is a fun place for dinner. It is also a good place to grab a meal before going to the Straz. I came here with my family. We were celebrating an anniversary but also had the kids with us, and I thought my kids would get a kick out of fondue. They have a full bar, and that's their alcohol focus. We brought our own wine (there's a $20 corkage, and they do NOT have decanters), and while our waiter was willing to try to open the bottle, he was relieved when my husband offered to do it. We started with the Queso Fuego and also a Fontina fondue. The kids loved the melty cheese that stayed melty throughout the meal. They loved all the traditional dippers, especially the potatoes and the chips. For my main, I had the steak frites. It was not a huge portion, but it was one of the most expensive items on the menu. The steak was filet, and it was probably cooked a bit more than the ordered medium rare, but it was fine. I didn't quite see the point to the goat cheese on top or the goat cheese fondue (I would have preferred no cheese and/or a gorgonzola), but it was fine. The salad was pretty tiny, and I thought the dressing was too sweet. The french fries were good. We sent a glass of our 2010 wine back to the chef, and so he sent out dessert (therefore, we didn't get a chance to try the chocolate fondue). The chocolate chip souffle was lovely. I've had cookies in cast iron before, but Meltso uses a deeper cast iron pot, and the amount of caramelization of the sugar in the cookie dough was awesome. They have karaoke on Friday nights, but we didn't have time to do it this time. I have a feeling we'll return as they are very family friendly, and my husband can't resist karaoke. read more
