Meow Tea is so underrated for their quality! Cheap and great place to get drinks. Note: most menu pictures on yelp are pretty outdated, prices have increased for some of the snacks, and they have other drinks available now. I live right across from this place and used to walk here with my sister pretty often. I think they renovated a month or two ago because the last time I went here it definitely did not look the way it did now, but I'm glad that this business has changed and grown over time. DRINK/SNACKS: Ordered a mango milk mix, a strawberry milk mix with boba, and a genmaicha milk tea. For snacks we tried to get curly fries but they said they ran out around 5pm so we settled for garlic fries and popcorn chicken. The drinks were really good, although I still prefer genmaicha at onezo over here. But as for the milk mix drinks, I definitely recommend them; they are on the very sweet end, so change the sweetness if you must! The snacks were average, nothing too extraordinary but the fries were pretty cheesy for some reason???and I didn't like that and the popcorn chicken was okay, it was crunchy and filled the void of hunger that I had. PRICE: Very value!! There were so many deals and discounts going on that stacked. Overall I we paid about $20 for three drinks and two snacks!! The promo-s we stacked were a buy two drinks get one free promo, we mentioned yelp for 5% off and we also got a student discount of 5%. SERVICE: Was very friendly! The man at counter was so kind and made sure we got all our discounts applied. It seems that there are only a small amount of people working here, so the drinks took a bit longer than average ~15 minutes, but there were about 8 people inside before I came in, so I'll let the wait time slide. LOCATION / AMBIANCE: Since it's tucked away in a small plaza, people don't really know it exists. Parking can also be a struggle since the spaces are pretty tight. The interior is small and simple. There were two couches and about 4 tables with chairs, so not that many people can sit in and hang, so it's probably best to grab and go if it's crowded but this place usually isn't. Staff is extremely friendly but the place does look a little runned down. They let you try the toppings which I usually don't get to do so in other places. A lot of the drinks are crossed off so I had a hard time figuring out what drinks were offered. My friend and I got the earl grey milk tea and mango stars. The cashier said they were sweeter than your typical mango topping (in other words, less sour like mangos usually are) and it definitely was the case. The mango stars help balance out the strong tea flavor of the earl grey. I have yet to try their food and may drop by sometime. My family randomly stumbled upon Meow Tea while driving around San Jose. It ended up being one of our favorite milk tea cafe's. Like most milk tea shops, it's small but cozy. The parking lot can be packed during the busier daytime, but it frees up in the evening. The service is really friendly and the hostess is incredibly accessible and makes fantastic recommendations. She doesn't just say,"Everything is good," but rather gives you recommendations based on what your preferences for sweetness or toppings are. At most milk tea shops, I usually find one or two drinks and stick with them. At Meow Tea, I've tried several recommendations by the hostess and most of them are winners that I'm glad I tried. Her first recommendation is still my favorite: "Grass Jelly Milk Mix" under the "Fresh Milk Mix" section of the menu. Other favorites in my family are the "Meow Tea Mix" with 50% sweetness and "Aloe Vera Peach Oolong Tea". Another great drink that is off the menu is the "Rose Milk Tea" with either heart boba for greater sweetness or herb jelly for a less sweet topping. I went to the Meow Tea re grand opening and there are new owners so I wanted to give it a try plus there is a promo rn for buy 1 get 1 free. I noticed that the interior is different than before but still a cute place. I got a Wintermelon Milk Tea with crystal boba because they were out of boba and a Dark Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with milk pudding (I loved the milk pudding from the previous meow tea). The Roasted Oolong was disgusting it was watered down and bitter it's like they forgot to put sugar or something. The milk pudding is still good though but I didn't even want to drink it for the milk pudding because the tea itself wasn't good. The wintermelon milk tea tasted way better than the roasted but nothing worth coming back for. I came when there weren't that many people there so no line but somehow I still had to wait a good 15 minutes for two drinks. When I was about to order there was another customer asking how much longer til they get their drinks probably because they were tired of waiting. My girlfriend and I decided upon this place when we were looking for any random tea places to check out in the area through google maps. Usually we know we're gonna end up disappointed and just do this for fun. Meow tea was the one exception. It turned out to be one of the best tea places we've been to despite never hearing of it before our google search. Most good tea places are already established franchises, so it's rare to find a locally owned store that can hold it's own against the giants. The first thing that caught our eye, a DAILY buy two get one free deal that won't ever end. The second thing that drew us in, the cute cat decor and cat themed walls and art that were everywhere in the store. I'm a sucker for cats, and the store is called meow tea. It was over from the start. The store itself is a cozy, cute size with two tables and an elbow couch with a coffee table. They have a well-maintained bathroom open to the public, you just have to ask. Our first visit there, a girl greeted us with a smile at the cashier and gladly took our order. Many visits later, she still does the same but now as friends as she recognizes us the moment we set foot in the store. My girlfriend's favorite jasmine milk tea is from here, so she orders two, one for today and another for tomorrow. The free third drink is for me, and I've tried a new one each time and wasn't ever disappointed. I personally recommend the rose matcha or the watermelon delight. The best part is that they adjust sweetness levels here perfectly. 50% taste like 50 and 25 tastes like 25, theres a noticeable difference compared to many other places that barely make a difference. There's never been a case where they adjusted it wrong after all of my visits. Their tea is on the strong side, which I personally think is a good thing. My only, very minor complaint is that their black tea is the same as their earl grey, meaning it's likely they don't have an assam or classic black available. I LOVE MEOW TEA MIX :) I'm quite picky with the sweetness of a boba drink but this place has the perfect level for me: not too sweet not too boring. I haven't been able to find another boba place that has something similar to meow tea mix. I wanted to like this place because of the great reviews, but ended up not liking this place at all. I waited for my order for 45 minutes! I ordered three drinks: 1 black milk tea w/ boba 100% sweet, 1 black milk tea w/ boba 25% sweet, 1 strawberry smoothie w/ boba. The food I ordered was mozzarella sticks and popcorn chicken. Before I was charged, I asked if she charged us for three drinks total, and she confirmed that it was correct. What happened? I got two drinks, and she told me she didn't charge for the third one. -_- we've already been waiting for at least 20 minutes. She did not correct her mistake by making the drink she forgot. Instead, she continued to take orders and make everyone else's drinks. We had to get back in line behind everyone, order our third drink and pay again. I looked at our original receipt (not itemized), did the math, and knew we were charged for the third drink. We got a refund, after they helped everyone else get their drinks first. I asked for black milk tea, but found out it's actually a roasted black milk tea based on what she wrote on the cup. The problem is that it tasted like straight up like coffee. Another thing I really love about this place is that they help you find a drink to your liking. And I love how honest they are about their serving of drinks. Great customer service, friendly and helpful! New puddings and toppings. I really enjoyed the coconut pudding and the milk tea pudding. They can put what you want or they will customize for you. These ice milks are the closest I have found to what they have in SoCal. Other than the new puddings, I enjoy their egg pudding and their black sesame pudding. Milk pudding tasted weird sometimes and boba isn't always cooked the best but I am a repeat customer! Overall, I really like this place. I asked the lady behind the counter what happened to my extra black tea and she said that we did not pay for it. So I went back in line and ordered the same drink again. Well we just had a large Hmong lunch and what does spicy and creamy dishes in your stomach need? A nice little sea of milk sweetness and boba. So I've had Meow Tea bookmarked for a while and since it was close to where we were, we decided...why not? We arrive in the little plaza of various Vietnamese places. The parking is quite narrow and not very plentiful so come at odd times that aren't lunch which we did. So we were lucky to find parking easily. We then walked over to the store and it was dark inside with no people. No one was manning the cash register, but someone popped up in the back when they heard us talking. The menu had milk teas and teas as well as snacks, but there were a lot of things crossed out. We stuck to the Fresh Milk Mix which had boba and egg pudding and your choice of caramel (which is original), mango, strawberry, or Nutella syrup base. We went with mango. So how was it? It was LARGE but for the price it was quite a steal. So much drink and toppings. It was actually pretty tasty. It does get a bit sweet because of the mango syrup, so see if you can get less syrup if you don't like things super sweet. The tapioca was white which was unexpected, but they were chewy. Not sure if they cook their boba in syrup as everything was sweet. There was plenty of boba and pudding which is great! My cousin recommended the sea salt cream with jasmine tea and it is amazing...I was new to the sea salt and thought you could just drink it like with the milk foam at gong cha. But nope, you have to stir it up first! Their lychee snow with aloe Vera is THE MOST REFRESHING DRINK EVER! The lady who owns this restaurant is super sweet! She was very patient when making 5+ sample drinks for my little cousins and I! Their takoyaki is delicious!! Adding the spicy powder makes it ten times better! read more

It's my 1st time here. Not much reviews on Yelp but when I check out pictures of their drinks, it looks tasty so I give it a try today. It could be the location so there's not much ppl here BUT don't judge it until you try their Mango Smothies w/Star mango and Milk mixes. Their smoothies are so naturally flavorful combine with the sweet mango star jelly is a win for such a simple drink. Their Milk mix is something new that I've drink for the very first time. The milk in there has soft touch, milky and creamy but don't get it wrong. You won't be tired of drink it after awhile. Would recomended for my family and friends. This place is so underrated that it hurts my heart. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. I hate to admit it, but I am ADDICTED to Meow Tea. Not only that, I have been a bad influence on my friends and I have caused them to develop an addiction as well...but hey, friends who share addictions stick together, am I right? All joking aside... My obsession with this place has caused me to come back 2 or 3 times a week...depending on how free I am...I come by even when I don't want to order anything because it's so awesome. Every time we come in, Lina (the owner) always greets us with an enthusiastic hello and big smile. She is the SWEETEST boba shop owner that I have ever encountered. My friends and I come so much...she's remembered our faces and our orders! Now we're like BFFL's. I still stand by my first review that this place has the best Crema in the boba-verse. I always, always, ALWAYS get the Jasmine Green Tea Crema because I like the flavor of Jasmine..however, recently I have ventured out of my comfort zone and got the Peach Oolong Wintermelon Crema and let me tell you, it tastes as awesome as it sounds. You get a mix of the oolong tea flavor, with a hint of peach, and the perfect balance of sweetness with the wintermelon. It isn't too strong that you can't sleep after having a cup. I typically don't get toppings with my drinks because of the extra calories, however, my friends always get the POW Crema with MILK PUDDING. And let me tell you, MILK PUDDING is a freaking GAME CHANGER. It is like 9843759842259345x better than egg pudding and a lot less basic. Whenever my sweet tooth is REALLY aching, I'll add the Milk pudding to my drinks, but other than that, the drinks taste fine on their own. I'm going to have to update my TAKOYAKI review because they have upped their game. They now have the flakes that mooooveee and it's AMAZING. These takoyaki balls are 9999925734985759285190x better than Orenchi...and that's saying A LOT, considering how hyped up Orenchi is. We're hooked here and once you start, you can't stop. Trust me. Service is a solid 10/5. If you have any questions in regards to the tea, she is always willing to answer them! She gives you suggestions based on what you're looking to have for the day. If you really want to get into it with her, she will tell your all her tea knowledge, which is a lot! Her little boy helps out at the store sometimes and he's the sweetest little kid ever! He's super attentive and when you order snacks and he's there, he'll bring it out to you. My friend said that one time when he went, the little child brought out fish balls and told him to hold it from the top, because it's hot. Talk about amazing service. This family business is where it's at. The true definition of family business. This little hole in the wall is life. It's always fairly slow because of how underrated this place is...but it's so good that I don't want to see it fail. The boba spot here before closed down, and I'm really hoping that's not the fate of Meow Tea. Meow Tea is awesome and the owner is the epitome of passion. She genuinely enjoys making the drinks and the snacks and she's just happy that people enjoy her creations. We come so often, that sometimes she hooks it up and takes an item or two off our order, but I know that hurts her business. We always try to tip, but she won't let us. That's how much she just enjoys her job. I really hope that Meow Tea can stick around forever, I would be devastated if this place closed down and moved outside of San Jose. Pass the word along , come out. The drinks may be a bit more expensive than the typical crema places, but it's worth your money. The snacks are priced fairly and you get a lot for what you order. Opened just about 10 days ago...I was pretty surprised how good this place was! The name was what drew me to this place. The owners have a cat that they love dearly, hence the name - Meow Tea. The logo is ridiculously cute and clever too! It is located in the Senter plaza and parking is a little tight. I think their store could be decorated more nicely but I'm sure they will continue adding onto the decor since it's so new. I tried the Jasmine Green Tea with Creama - it was pretty good! I think the creama is a tiny bit on the sweeter side but I still enjoyed it very much so! Their cup sizes are the larger sizes...I notice this seems to be the new thing now. My sister had the earl grey tea with creama + milk pudding and she enjoyed it too. Yes...I said milk pudding - this is new to me! Never heard of it before. I thought it was OK though, It's a little too soft for me, where it kind of broke into smaller pieces...I think it would be better if it was more firm, like the Egg Pudding or Herbal Jelly consistency. The price for my drink - Jasmine Green Tea + Creama + herbal jelly + egg pudding = $5.30! Lol maybe this is why they have stamp cards where you pay for 6 drinks and get your 7th free, when other places are buy 10 drinks and get your 11th free. Not complaining though. One thing I was disappointed about was that they were out of tapioca when we went !! C'mon, this is a milk tea place, you HAVE to have your tapioca ready.
