I love Mercurys and visit 3-4 times a week. I love that the staff largely knows my name and I'm a huge fan of the winter drink specials. I also love the organic coffee. A couple of small suggestions for change: the food is yummy but quite greasy! It would be great to have something that isn't 50% cheese. The online order system is not very good. We were so excited to try this place after hearing from a recommendation from a friend. It was our first time so there was a lot to take in. The pastries, cookies, everything looked SO good. Huge cookies, danishes, and rice crispies! We spent over $80 in food and drinks. Would've wanted to order more but wow.. the cashier with the exaggerated black winged eyeliner working 8/4 around 7pm was very rude, short, and unfriendly and kept trying to move it along while ordering off the menu or made a face when asking for an extra bag to divide our pastries. She would be annoyed as our order was growing. I mean there's no menu until you get to the register so what else are we to do? The drinks - We got a few different tea lattes. I don't know if you're supposed to specify sweetness of drinks because none of that was asked of us, but the default is extremely sweet. I loved this coffee place! I liked the ambience, they are spacious and well staffed. The food variety is just so good and affordable. I really liked having so many options to eat, which is rare in usual coffee shops. We ordered the matcha tea latte which is an absolute favourite! Super yum! All food options looked really tempting but i zeroed in on a croissant, which was yummy again! The flagship location is really the best because it has so many yummy sandwiches and desserts in the cases. All the food is amazing and fresh. Even before the pandemic, this place was super busy on a nice sunny day. It gets quite packed and noisy to sit inside and parking spots are tight. We love the Bellevue location, so many baked good choices and it's always a treat when we drive out of the way to make a visit. The long line may look intimidating but cashiers do a great job on getting the line moving. Our go-to drink is the Blonde Hawaiian... it's so good! I can never get the exact flavor anywhere else and they add these coconut bits that seriously makes the drink! We usually get it half sweetened and it's perfect. They tend to make overly sweet drinks. You have to try the bacon croissant that has beechers cheese in it... it's to die for! So buttery, flakey & the right amount of savory. Wow I'm drooling just writing this review lol. And they must straight up put crack in their cinnamon rolls because they are like no other that we've tasted and we are huge cinnamon roll lovers. I'm familiar with the drive-thru stand in Kirkland, but I hadn't checked out the Bellevue roastery until now. You'll notice it's not as quick, even though they are well-staffed. Their specialty drinks are too sweet for me, so I opted for a regular drip this time to get a sense of the base flavor. Plus, this is the roastery, so let the beans shine! It was an alright cup of joe; not my favorite or least favorite by any means. The cinnamon rolls are gigantic and it's impossible to be in a bad mood when digging into one. I took one to share at work and accompany my mid-morning cup. The cinnamon roll here is unique for two reasons: One, it has walnuts in it (I think, hard to tell with all the cinnamon sugar), and two, it is way heavy on the cinnamon! Cinnamon is good for you, though, right? It helps stabilize or normalize blood sugar, but even with all the cinnamon here, I don't think it'll oftset the sugar + simple bread carbs haha. I shared this with at least seven others at work (it's THAT big) and they all commented on how much cinnamon there is. Now, that didn't stop any of us from eating it. Just know ahead of time that they are heavy handed on the spice! Warming slices up in the microwave is a must, too, since it softens up the otherwise tough edges. Anyway, I think Mercury's is A-OK. The flavors and relaxed pace don't offset the cost for me personally, but their unique speciality drinks and food offerings were fun to try. read more

Really great vibe. I had one of the finest, well-crafted lattes here of any place I've been to in recent history--smooth, creamy, and perfect temperature made by Haley. She claims it was the "for here" mug but I think it was skill. I visit many Mercury Coffee locations and this was by far the best latte I've ever experienced from this chain. Lots of open seating with a modern, European inspired decor. There is a wide selection of sandwiches and baked items. The items we enjoyed were seemingly high quality and tasted great. They serve beer on tap with about 6 varieties, as well as Prosecco and cider. I highly recommend stopping in. Parking is ample. The only thing I'd like to see is the staff going the extra mile to pick up plates and cups instead of pointing where you put them--it sort of detracts from the classy experience. read more

I told my friends in Bellevue that I was looking for a good coffee place and they took me here for a quick coffee after work. This place has a very minimalistic vibe about it. Everything is shiny steel. White and steel seems to be their color palette. This seems like one of those places where 'Terminator' would be created. A coffee place fit for Skynet HQ :P They have a huge indoor space and also outdoor patio. This is their main location so they also have a roasters in one section. I haven't been here when they roast their beans but I'd imagine the aroma would be tantalizing. They have a lot of food option. Sandwiches, pastries and flatbread on display has a very European cafe vibe. Because they have their own roastery, they have coffee beans for sale too. Both single origin and blended beans. I asked for a pour over and they obliged. Pourovers are made with poursteady which if you don't know is an automated pourover maker (Check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNgcCm2YeE8) It's fun to watch and the machine does everything from the bloom to steady pour as the name suggests. They served only blended coffee at the time and the coffee by itself was good. I would have loved to try out their single origin coffees though. I may have even purchased some beans! I guess I must be getting old or not a hipster. The coffee and the pastries are great! A way better product than Charbucks. Here's why I rated it 3-stars. I like good service. If I have to wait for someone behind the counter to fill my order, I begin to wonder why I'm in this establishment. The staff behind the counter must be hipsters that think people enjoy standing in line to spend their money (if you don't know what I am talking about watch Seinfeld's Getting Coffee in Cars with Comedians episode with Fred Armisten). I struggled on whether to give 3 or 4 stars, so let me give my more detailed rating below: Coffee (pour overs only) - 4 Croissants, Sweet treats - 2.5 Service - 4.5 I realize that most people don't drink pour overs; but if you like coffee, you should certainly try one. This is the freshest form of coffee and since Mercurys uses a fancy, automated machine it never goes wrong. They have a selection of 3 beans, the Ethiopia and Guatemala ones are very good. I have bought the Ethiopian beans several times for home use as well and the quality is consistent. At $16.50, they are way cheaper than many other good coffee shops like Five Stones. Their espresso beans are too darkly roasted for my taste, so I have never tried the espresso drinks. I am puzzled by the number of reviews that glorify their treats. I have tried many of them, and all are sub-par. Grossly fatty, no flavor, giant sized pastries, muffins and croissants that are blah. The service is always efficient considering how many people are usually waiting in line. All the staff I have interacted with are polite and have never messed up my order. read more

I have become addicted to Mercurys Coffee and their incredible cold brews and pastries. This morning is the first time I have had an item that I didn't love, unfortunately. The ham and cheese quiche is super salty and runny inside to the point of being inedible. I'm not sure if it is meant to be this way or not, but it seems very under done to me and so far as I can tell doesn't contain any egg that would make it a quiche. It is a croissant type crust full of gooey ham and cheese, and very much a gut bomb. I had to throw most of it away, which was a shame as it cost me nearly $10. The Bellevue location feels like a Starbucks wannabe, not a local coffee shop that focuses primarily on serving outstanding coffee. My first cup of brewed coffee was barely room temperature. The replacement was hot, but bitter. The baristas couldn't tell me anything about their whole bean coffees for sale other than they had one medium roast and the rest were dark roasts (apparently Mercury doesn't have a light roast). The roast information should be on the packaging but, inexplicably, is not. They also looked utterly clueless when I asked what would work well with an Aeropress, one of the most common home brewing products. That's a basic question baristas at decent coffee shops can always answer. I've asked the same question probably at 20+ coffee places that claim to be all about the coffee and this is maybe the 2nd that drew blank stares. That tells me a lot about how knowledgeable the staff is about coffee. The everything bagel with lox and cream cheese was strangely tasteless. It also had an absurd blob of cream cheese in the middle. Add in how overpriced it is and the loud music and I'd give it 0 stars if I could. I have a meeting there later this week. I'll stop at an excellent coffee place on the way and will stick with water at Mercury. (I just read some of the 59 employee reviews on Glassdoor. An average rating of 1.8 out of 5. Wow. One of my favorite coffee spots in the bellevue/redmond area! Can be a bit busy and the line can be pretty long, but it is definitely worth the wait for the drinks and the bakery items. I usually order the Mexican Chocolate which always hits the spot. My Fiance got the Tropical Tea which was super refreshing and tasty. We also decided to try the creme brulee fruit tart (which had a really good balance of flavors and wasn't too sweet) and the Tiramisu (which was really nice and moist, only thing was that there was a bit too much espresso powder on top for my liking). With the matcha latte, the syrup is pre-blended with sweetener, so you can't reduce the sweetness without sacrificing the matcha flavor too. It can get quite busy during peak times. I'm a regular at this location, pretty much every Saturday and Sunday due to kid obligations. Drinks- they do a great job making it right if it is not what you wanted. Food- Being Vegan/Vegetarian you will struggle here. Kids love the scones, pizza, and the breakfast sandwiches. We WERE regular customers. Today went in ordered 4 coffees and couple pastries. Paid $45 for the order (not cheep for 4 coffees and 3 pastry's). Waited for our drinks got done and pastries were nowhere around. I asked about pastries they said they come separately and are not ready yet. Okay standing and waiting... 20 min later they are still not there. I ask again. And the gal goes to check well they "forgot" to add the order so 20+ min waiting our order was not being done. And they re ask my order. I go back to be with my kids and my spouse comes back mad states they said I didn't pay for my "food" order!!! So he had to pay additional $25 for our food! We'd just finished skiing and wanted somewhere to grab coffee on our way home, and as soon as my husband suggested it we spotted the Mercury's Coffee Co. sign. I've never heard of this place before, but it was a pleasant surprise. The inside is pretty cool, spacious with high ceilings and modern interior. He ordered a nitro cold brew and I got a latte, both were great. We also ordered a curry chicken salad sandwich (tasty on a croissant) and a provolone turkey pastry (warmed up, also very good).
