3years ago, I loved Meso, gave them an outstanding review, and told many about it. Today, I returned after a year or so and was really disappointed. The service was good, the ambiance is lovely, and the food was alright. I ordered the chicken quesadillas which came with guacamole and a relish type side that was tasty. The quesadillas were seasoned well, but were a little greasy. My mojito was super weak! Also, when we were paying, they offered a QR code, but you have to manually input your credit card information. No thanks. Then, when I asked for a container of the sauce to go with my left overs, they wanted to charge me! I'm talking about one of those tiny containers that maybe holds a tablespoon and 1/2. What? Excuse me?! Keep your sauce. You'll have to do better to get me to walk back in or to recommend them again.

This is the second time my husband and I have been here -- once for brunch after church, this time dinner with some friends. Delicious food, beautiful ambiance, really wonderful service. It was a perfect night so we asked to sit on the patio under the huge tree. The lights, the tree, and just the atmosphere was romantic, but casual. It was the perfect date night spot. We were greeted by our server. She was super nice and patient, gave us great recommendations, and she didn't come to the table to check up on us too much or too little. She really knew how to give us space. The food is always solid. I had the arrachera with homemade corn tortillas. The tortillas were nicely made and the beef of the arrachera was perfectly cooked to medium. It's a huge plate! The portion is very generous. It gave me a total of 3 meals. If I was extra hungry, I might have finished it in 2. I highly recommend the ceviche, the chuleta tomahawk, arrachera, mole de pollo, and the churros. ESPECIALLY the churros. Leave room for this! The chocolate dipping sauce they use is Mexican chocolate. The sweetness and bitterness were perfectly balanced. I would definitely come here again. You will not be disappointed.

After years of birthday/anniversary dinners here, bringing friends and family for group dinners, and recommending Meso Maya to everyone, I was not only disappointed but genuinely traumatized by my food experience last night. As we've done many times before, we ordered DoorDash, getting our $85 (before tip) dinner delivered and the packaging/missing items should have been our first clue that this was going to be a bad experience. I've listed the issues below: We ordered a PINT of salsa to find no chips were included. Spending $10 on salsa is absurd but no chips!?! My salad, which already has limited toppings, did not include the sliced apples, which are listed as an included topping. The beans were just thrown in the box, covering half of my other side, the corn tamale. And the cherry on top of it all - THERE WAS A BUG INSIDE OF MY QUESADILLA THAT I ATE, CHEWED, AND SPIT OUT. I've included a picture of its leg still intact. As a LOYAL customer, I'm beyond disappointed and just overall traumatized from this experience...

I truly enjoyed our visit to this trendy Mexican and Mayan restaurant. The ambiance of this restaurant is fun and relaxed! The service was great and the food delicious! A must visit. The cucumber margarita was refreshing. Carne asada plate was so flavorful, I couldn't get enough. The sweet corn tamale was very tasty. The cochinita pibil plate was also delicious. Can't wait to visit again!

Outstanding! This has become one of our favorite restaurants in Ft Worth. The food is delicious, the service is next level (Viviana was the nicest server we have ever had). Do yourself a favor and give it a shot, anything in the menu is great but just go with the chef specialties and you can't go wrong.

I took my 6yr old daughter here after an afternoon appointment and I can't say enough good things about the restaurant!! The restaurant itself is soo pretty and loved the different cacti at each table..The service was outstanding!! Our server was so sweet and helpful! The food was better than any mexican restaurant I've been to here in DFW and I've lived here for 8yrs!! I highly recommend the brisket and chicken enchiladas!! The flavor and different corn shells was a very authentic unique combination! Also the Salsa is incredibly addicting, spicy and smoky and filled with flavor!! You really need to visit this restaurant, it wont disappoint!!

4.5 Another amazing experience on this Fort Worth trip! We visited the Tanglewood location for lunch, and were impressed by the charming atmosphere, nice layout, and the menu which is a combination of expected and authentic. We were informed by our lovely server that everything at Meso Maya is made on premises, and selected our drinks from their expert bartender. The menu items we ordered were typical in name only; sopas to start, (Pozole Rojo, yum!) tacos, enchiladas, Cochinita Pibil, everything was amazing and on point, from the signature cocktail to the last bit of food on our plates. The freshness was noticeable, prices very reasonable. Nothing but great things to say about this visit to Meso Maya, will definitely return and highly recommend!

I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for some time (((not sure what took me so long))) but I finally made it. And honestly I was disappointed, I went with a Mexican friend and we both agreed that the food was just ok. We both had soup and it was just ok, the chips and salsa was just ok too. The house margarita was just ok, even the ambiance inside was ok. Thank goodness for the cocktail or else I would have left in a bad mood Service was good which is always a plus.

We stopped by this place after another restaurant had a 50 minute wait. Even though it was a Saturday night, we were greeted and sat right away by the hostess and our server came as soon as we sat down with our chips and salsa and to take our drink orders. I'm really picky so I hesitantly ordered the pollo Serrano enchiladas and hoped for the best..lol. Y'all, I am so glad I ordered them! They were so delicious that I even chewed slow just to enjoy them longer. Yes, they were that good!! My mom ordered the camarones a la diabla and she said the shrimp were cooked just right and the sweet and spicy sauce was really good. We both agreed that this is a place we need to come back to, especially when the weather is nicer so we can enjoy the really nice outdoor seating. Try this place out! You won't regret it!

Cool concept just terrible food. Staff was nice and ok at service but towards the end homeboy disappeared and we were left waiting for 20mins just to pay our tab. Were two big folks ordering food with two big plates and we were seated at a small table that even the sweet girl who delivered our food was asking why we had such a small table so she added another table to give us room. Food was not that good. I asked for medium rare and I was given medium well. The skirt asada steak was tough. And the mole enchilada was trash. The chicken was watered down and dry and the tortillas had a weird taste and texture. The best thing they had to offer was the hot sauce that stuff is so good I paid $8 to get a small pint to go. Beans were ok but the rice was a little crunchy.

Fiance and i walked were exploring and walked past an oddly placed and weirdly small laundromat…read morebefore realizing that there is no way this just a tiny random laundromat. We poke our heads in (accidentally going through the exit door. the front door is well camouflaged) and just found a wonderful very chilled out bar. Haven't been to a speakeasy in a long time. It was dark lighting with ambient black lights and string lights to keep it dim but you wont struggle to see through. Music was not super loud and the chairs were incredibly comfortable and the whole place was laid out to just have drinks and lounge while talking with friends. No food, which is fine. You have plenty of options on the same block for that. This place is just for drinks and conversation. The seasonal menu was awesome. It iss a bar so they of course can make anything you request if you don't want a specialty cocktail. I got my favorite, a moscow mule but they had a brazilian mule on the specialty menu. I never had that before and ordered it on the spot. It was grapefruit vodka with lime, lots of fine pellett nugget ice (the really good kind) with ginger beer and condensed milk. My god it was great, they told me how they made it because i never saw milk added to this before. It was a delicious limeade that almost was slushy like, creamy and with tangy vodka. Plus they actually served it in a proper copper mug. Best mixed drink ive had period and a cool twist on my favorite standard moscow mule. The place is now going to become a frequent haunt for us. Its very laid back, relaxed, with fantastic ambiance. It doesn't get jammed packed and is not meant to get wild in. We went there around 7pm on a friday night with about 8 or so others already there with their drinks. It did pick up later with 15-20 people in there but still spacious and comfortable. It genuinely was just a nice bar to have drinks and conversations with friends. Nice music that isn't too loud so you can talk with normal voice levels. The bartenders we had were super nice and charismatic. The drinks were not expensive, a respectable 13 bucks for my mule. If you have a bill over 40 dollars they automatically add 20% gratuity to it so keep that in mind when you are tipping. And after 8pm everything had 20% gratuity added to the bill. But the service is so damn good that you will probably still want to tip on top of that anyways. I loved it so much i actually made a yelp account just to post a review. TLDR super cool speakeasy type joint, cool aesthetics and laundry theme. Not loud, good for drinks and chit chat, cool well crafted specialty cocktails that don't break the bank. Good bartenders. Good times. Cozy seats that encourage you to hang out and talk even with folks you haven't met before and dim without being dark lighting. Clean bathroom too and quick charismatic service. Hit this place up for sure even just for the novelty of it. It was a wonderful surprise bar for a date night. Pro tip for this area in general. all paid parking, some place validates some do not, i am unsure if they do here but there is paid parking right out front and also a paid lot literally across the street. But i don't even bother. About a block and a half away northeast is a big shopping complex with a target. i just park there for free and walk. its a short nice walk and doesn't cost 20 bucks.

Highlights: Super fun speakeasy-style entrance Small interior, but the seating is arranged really well for different group sizes and feels surprisingly comfortable I don't recall them offering food during my visit, but the bartenders were friendly and were able to make a great mocktail Surrounded by different eateries, so it's easy to grab food nearby before or after drinks Easy parking, which is always a plus (street or parking garage nearby)

None of our meals disappointed us and we left very satisfied by the experience. Memories for a lifetime! While it was a lovely experience in a stunning environment, it fell a bit short of the high bar you'd expect for a $95/pp tea service. The Good: First and foremost, the environment is absolutely beautiful. The Bowie House, Bricks & Horses restaurant, and the Mulberry Room itself are gorgeously decorated with a sophisticated Texas Western theme. The atmosphere in the Mulberry library is intimate and visually striking. Additionally, the service was excellent from start to finish, being both attentive and professional. The food portions are quite generous, with both the savories and sweets served together on a single tower. The sweets were the highlight of the food, as they were very delicious and surprisingly large. We also really enjoyed the tea selections themselves, particularly the Earl Grey and the plum rooibos. The Letdowns: Unfortunately, a few details missed the mark, especially considering the premium price point: - The "Champagne": The experience is advertised as including a glass of Champagne, but we were actually served Prosecco. At nearly $100 a person, substituting Prosecco for real Champagne or Cremant is a major disappointment. - The Tea Service: Instead of receiving a teapot to enjoy throughout the afternoon, the tea is steeped directly in the cup. This limits you to a single cup per tea variety, though to be fair, I didn't ask if refills were an option. - Food Refinement: While the portions were large and the savories were tasty, they lacked the elegance of a traditional tea. Every savory option was open-faced and heavily blanketed in microgreens and edible flowers, which felt a bit unrefined. - Comfort & Conversation: The Mulberry library features low couches, deep chairs, and coffee tables. While this setup would be absolutely perfect for relaxing with a glass of whiskey, it makes leaning over to eat finger foods highly uncomfortable. Furthermore, the seating layout isn't ideal for holding a natural conversation with the people in your party. Overall: It is a nice experience in a breathtaking Fort Worth hotel, but I'm not sure I would return. If the price point were lower, the execution would make more sense. However, given the other highly refined afternoon tea options available across DFW for less money, this one doesn't quite live up to its price tag.
