Ordered 2 fish and chips for curbside tonight. The app said it will be ready at 7:15 and I showed up at 7:16. I called the phone number on the curbside sign to let them know I'm here. A young lady answered and confirmed my order was ready and she would be right out. 15 mins later, she came out with my food. I'm thinking they just start cooking my food when I arrived smh. No apology or nothing when they gave me our food. They couldn't have been busy because I was the only one in the parking lot and everybody was inside cleaning. Anyway, I get home. I was impressed with this place. Looked at reviews before I went. I got there about 30 minutes after they opened and was seated right away. It wasn't very busy. I was waited on a few minutes after that. After ordering, it took about 15 minutes for my food to arrive. Waitress checked up on me enough times that it wasn't too much or too little. Pricing was great. I had 2 eggs, bacon, pancakes, toast and home fries (they were so good with the right amount of seasoning). I will definitely go here again. read more

Had lunch at the Metro Diner today. We have been there a few times before and are pretty pleased with their menu choices. Today however we had a few issues. I will say we were there at a busy time. The manager Kevin made it right and came by several times to be sure everything was good. I get it. Things happen, so we will be back. I was very impressed with the manager Kevin and how he handled it and seemed to genuinely seem to want to hear what was wrong and make sure we ended up pleased with our meal and our experience at the diner. A shout out also to Dylan, who was bussing the tables. That guy was working nonstop. He didn't stop the whole time we were there, had a smile on his face, and was very courteous to the people in the restaurant and even asked people at tables near where he was cleaning them off if they needed anything. I admire someone like that who works hard and with a smile. Very commendable! Employees like this need to be recognized. read more

Came here for brunch with friends. Only waited 10-15 minutes for a table and the food came out fast. Everyone got a different meal so we all got a taste of all of the different dishes: croissant french toast, biscuits and sausage gravy, and fried chicken lunch meal. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu, but the fried chicken and waffles are definitely one of my favorites along with the huevos rancheros. We've never had a bad experience at Metro Diner. Their food is always fresh. If it doesn't taste fresh, the manager will come by with a smile and make it fresh for you. The staff is always pleasant and smiling. The chefs are level headed and passionate. The food is always brought out timely and never incorrect. The breakfast is 10/10. We get real southern breakfast eats here and they recently started serving mimosas which are to die for. They have their own strawberry butter which is divine on waffles. I'm really not sure what all the fuss is about. Is it because Metro Diner was on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives? I think it was raved about as a Diner...but it is a Dive. This is my third time going here and my last. All three times, I was not impressed. Today was the worst. Avocado Toast for $7.00, not interested. Today the Croissant French Toast was not cooked enough and very soggy. We had to wait a minute for the syrup and had to ask for butter for the cold toast. The poached eggs were slightly over done. Our waitress needs to find another profession. She brought the iced tea and said she would be back with a straw...she never came back with a straw. I had to go up to the drink area and ask someone else. She brought plenty of iced tea...most likely so she wouldn't have to come back to the table...which she never did. She never came back to check and see how the food was. Ohhhhh Allison. She did come back with the check, however never made eye contact. read more

I had the pot pie which was great and my partner had the chicken and waffles. The strawberry butter was amazing. And to make our experience here five stars was the waitress. I believe tiffiney was her name. She had a butterfly tattoo that I loved. She was very accommodating, loved her conversation, and just for that I enjoyed my meal and even bought a couple more beers than planned. We order from Metro Diner occasionally, lately we have taken it to go, their food is always plentiful and fresh. Great salads, the best around. The staff is always pleasant and helpful, I can't say enough good things about them. The restaurant isn't fancy, it is after all a diner, but the food is very good and it's priced right too. We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and have never been un-satisfied. The Altamonte restaurant is in a location where several restaurants have failed, this place is always busy. read more

I have now been to Metro Diner three times and I can tell you that each time I have been quite pleased and impressed by the staff, food and speed of this local diner. Even though this place gets pretty packed on a weekend morning we have never had to wait longer than 15-20 minutes (thank goodness) and once seated we get waited on pretty quickly. I have brought my 1 year old with me each time and I am pleased to say this place is pretty baby friendly. High chairs are available and the staff seems to enjoy the little ones. They offer crayons and coloring pages and there is a kid menu. Hooray! But honestly the food even on the KID menu could easily satisfy any adult. In fact, I ALWAYS end up ordering WAY too much food when I come here. That's because the portions are QUITE LARGE (but hey, no complaining here...) so be aware you may need a to-go box. If you are going to try anything while you are here for goodness sake have the famous chicken and waffles. If anything I could eat the strawberry butter on it's own.... eek. Also, the cheesy grits are spot on. Ok, ok. I have never had a bad thing here. Eggs sandwich? Yep. AWESOME. Biscuits and Gravy--- superb. Full of flavor but probably also a lot of calories. ha I can't wait to come back here and eat some more yummy food... my next goal is to try out the pancakes everyone raves about! The portions are a wow factor too. You can tell the detail, time, effort and energy that goes into everything. They care about what you think as well which is wonderful. The staff welcomes you when you walk in and thanks you when you leave (Altamonte anyway, that's the only one we've been to). We had to save room for dessert which was a home run also. My 3rd time eating here and i love it as always. Our waitress, Joyce, was WONDERFUL! I ate the Hot Turkey Plate (Turkey, Red Skin Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Zucchini and Squash and Cranberry Sauce. and it was delish! My girlfriend had the Pot Roast which i tasted and it was ok. The meat was good but the gravy of the pot roast was a bit too bitter/tart. The bacon in my daughter's plate was too over cooked but she's 5 so she didn't notice. Her biscuit was good.
