This was my first time visiting this location. I went during lunch time with a cousin and there was a slight wait but we were seated way before the expected time. Our server's name was Tara and she was sweet as can be. She let us know her favorites on the menu and was very attentive to our needs. The past two visits were anything but professional. My last visit I had A friend visiting from Tennessee who wanted person chips so I suggested the Metro you ordered fish and chips I ordered meatloaf and advise the waitress my last visit the meatloaf was extremely salty was again this time might have to go with something different and sure enough the meatloaf arrived and it was over cooked the gravy was extremely salty. My friend had ordered the fish and chips but was given the seafood platter had task for the salad he ordered and then the coleslaw that was supposed to come with the meal. Since I had sent back my meatloaf, I knew it be a little while, however my friend had finished he's meal and I hadn't even received my salad. Needless to say I ended up taking the seafood platter I ordered home, only to find that the salt content was also high. I've experienced better meals at greasy spoon restaurants. We visited on a Friday Morning. They were very busy but there was no wait. The server was friendly and efficient. The menu was extensive with a variety of offerings. We were there for breakfast the blueberry waffle was hot and delicious my hubby had the eggs, hash browns and canadian bacon with wheat toast. We just got back from out West so we were spoiled from the great whole wheat breads they offer. Metro should buy from the Great Harvest or Edgars down the street. Not that the toast was bad. The Charleston Shrimp and Grits are the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked grit cakes piled high in cream sauce with andouille sausage Grilled shrimp topped with bacon and green onions. Had the Philly Cheese steak and it was pretty good too, but the other is best. Husbamd loves the Beef tips in gravy with mashed potatoes and broccoli. First time there. Took my family there for a graduation/Mother's Day celebration. There was an hour+ wait, but it was worth it. The portions are huge! The taste was spectacular. I went there for brunch with advertised $3 mimosas. I ordered a glass of sparkling wine without the juice and the waitress looked at me strangely. She told me they had Chardonnay or a Merlot. Went with the family for dinner the other night and the floor is so greasy you feel like you need to hold onto things as you walk through. The food is fair in taste. No offense, but whenever I leave Metro Diner I feel like a plump pig...the menu items leave me like a fat kid! That pulled pork and Mac-n-Cheese plate does me in every single time. The flavor took me back to my childhood and I was so full, I felt like a beached whale! I had been here once before and had a good breakfast, so decided to take husband for dinner. Never again! Husband had dry meatloaf with cold potatoes. He was never given a choice of other veggies and the veggies that did come were greasy. I had eggs Benedict with a separated sauce, undercooked eggs and raw hash browns. I asked to replace the hash browns with crispy home fries but They never came. Our waitress was busy, but whenever we asked her for something- like a spoon for my hot tea she rolled her eyes. We also had to ask her for silverware which also got an eye roll. I wanted to ask her if my home-fries were coming but she dropped the bill off on the table and kept going before I had a chance. My fish and chips was a total disappointment, the fries were soggy, and the fish very over cooked Captain D's fish is better. I mentioned to the waitress and she insisted replacing the fries, with onion rings which she did, but the onion rings were greasy, I didn't mention the fish, The cole slaw had sort of a pasty taste, as well as the chicken salad salad, which one of the workers explained that they make their own mayonnaise. Hopefully just a bad night. We ordered $60 worth of food through Uber Eats. Everything looked great, obviously fresh and we were excited as this was our first try from Metro Diner. Unfortunately, everything was just too salty to eat. Don't get me wrong, we're not afraid of seasoning, but this was way beyond acceptable. And it was across the board: fried chicken, potatoes and gravy, fish and chips, French dip, everything. It was like nobody was tasting anything before it went out the door. We ended up tossing out everything but the green beans and onion rings. Very disappointed. Again, I'm hoping it was an off night for the kitchen, but that was a lot of fairly pricy food to be headed straight to the trash can. read more

We took our parents for brunch after not seeing them to this location. Unfortunately, the staff at the front were very rude blatantly complaining about our presence and talking after finishing our meal. They were neither friendly or accommodating. The waitress was very kind but sitting behind the hostess station and hearing them complain about your presence is not a very welcoming environment. My party of fourteen (14) arrived at Metro Diner early Saturday afternoon. Including three toddlers, one repeatedly crawling on the table, another bullying, the third biting her mom. A preadolescent having a full-on meltdown. Young parents, all in over their heads. Indecisiveness and special orders abound. And then, in walks Faith. Faith, our server, managed all the kerfuffle with unblinking grace and professionalism. She literally averted what was sure to be a disastrous outing. Stopped by today and ate some fried chicken, it was absolutely remarkable. It tasted like a home cooked meal made by your grandmother. The Mac and cheese is magnificent. I honestly don't know how this restaurant has good reviews on google. The food is terrible. The only good things were the water with lemon, the bacon, and the eggs. But almost everything else was either overcooked or had burnt flakes on it (probably from them refusing to clean the grill). For example my pancakes would have been good if it didn't have burnt stuff on it from the grill. It made my pancakes taste disgusting and burnt. They also served my mom a sandwich with mushy avocado. It was almost a dark-greenish brown. That is not how fresh avocado looks. She didn't like the sandwich because of the weird mushy texture from the avocado and the burnt toast. The next complaint is cleanliness. The seats and floor were covered in crumbs. They also don't wipe down the syrup bottles that everyone uses. The items ordered were still warm, when I arrived back home. The fish and chips were tasty and the portions were great. About a third of the serving was large globs and strings of fat, and the texture was very unappetizing. We are retirees who eat out for combined lunch/dinner almost every day. I went to this restaurant this am and watch my food sit in the window under a heating lamp for 10 mins after it was cooked and ready to be served. I refused the food and the manage came out said he would remake it. She brought it out 5-6 mins later and it was under cooked and had a attitude.
