Metro Diner isn't a bad franchise at all. They are a bit mote attentive in this location which is very nice and they do all they can to ensure you aren't missing anything in your table. But thats where it stops. Their chicken sandwich came highly recommended and i was excited to steer away from the traditional basic diner items. Unfortunately it was inedible due to the chef possibly slipping 10x more salt and seasoning than should have been intended and their bun was stale and sorta broke apart once you grabbed it. It was brought to their attention but nothing was done. To be fair, the rest of the things we ordered was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Perhaps I'll be more safe next time and not order the sammich'. read more

Service was polite and helpful but food was just so so. We both ordered the Bissell Breakfast and the sausage patties were overdone and greasy. Pancakes underdone no golden brown delite here! But the thing I found really awful was the fruit bowl we ordered for $4.50 a few chunks of melon and slivers of strawberries and a handful of grapes, really pathetic. Excellent breakfast! Grits are perfectly made. I had the Bissell breakfast everything was cooked perfectly. Our party also had the cinnamon roll pancakes, they are unbelievably tasty!! If you love cinnamon rolls you have to try these. Everything was great, service was great and they are very reasonably priced. We will definitely return. read more

We were visiting our kids and came to the diner 6 days after opening. Food quality was excellent. Service was smooth as glass. You would never know that they were so newly opened. This is a godsend, a classic old school diner, in a very clean and highly accessible restaurant. While it's fresh, it's still a chain diner with HQ in Jacksonville. There are so many great food selections that every time I eat there, I try something new. Great food, served hot in a family friendly atmosphere. I have been in the restaurant business for 21 years and have high expectations. I also have high understanding if throngs don't go smoothly. This visit was close to perfect. April our server was nothing but smiles and super informative. She explained everything to us as first time guests and got our drinks promptly. I got the San Francisco Benedict, and my son got the dollar pancakes. Both we're absolutely delish. The menu offers good ole comfort food and everyone's plates looks amazing. Speed of service was good...Saturday around brunch time. when we were done eating our server was talking w/ some friends...I tried to flag her down twice, then I asked another server for our check...then things got weird. Went in alone for breakfast on Valentine's Day morning. Had the southwest bowl, and a side of toast. My dear we, Paige, was fast, competent, and never intrusive. The food was good, I thought the price was a little high, but that is a sign of the times, no fault of theirs. My only other negative comment is, it was cold. It was so cold, even though Paige refilled my cup diligently, I could never get it down fast enough to drink it even remotely warm. read more

OMG this place was AMAZING!! They went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten allergy. I had the Diavlo burger on gluten free bread. It was supposed to be grilled but came out on regular bread. The manager came by to explain that they could not grill it or toast it and guarantee it would be gluten free. She offered to make me something else since I would not be happy with the burger without it being a true grilled cheese sandwich with a burger between the layers. I ordered an omelette instead. She left the burger and my partner was going to eat it. I cut it and tried it anyways. It was delicious. The bread was so soft and delicious. The bacon was crispy. My partner went to tell the manager to cancel the omelette as I was very happy with the burger. She insisted on making it anyway and sent me home with the most ginormous meat lover omelette with a side of grits. Our server Candy had the best energy. This place is a must for anyone in the area. Stopped in for dinner. Started with a bloody Mary which was nice n spicy. Followed it up by the chilli which was good and the loaded fries which was awesome. I could have eaten that as a meal. Followed it up with the shrimp n grits which was a nice twist on the classic shrimp n grits. It had two deep fried cakes with chopped up seafood n grits inside topped with a shrimp gravy sauce. This is only the 2nd time we've been here and this time I was in the mood for dinner. Ordered the Lemon Dill Salmon with green beans and zucchini/squash, it was surprisingly delicious. Very tasty and not overly seasoned, and this wasn't even a place I pegged to have a good piece of salmon. Boy I was wrong. My boyfriend ordered the chicken (boneless) and waffles. This place is busy so if you have to wait a bit, do it! It is well worth it!! The corned beef hash and poached eggs were amazing. You could see real pieces of corned beef and well-cook portions of potatoes. My grandma got an omelette and my aunt the traditional eggs Benedict and both enjoyed it very much. Went to Metro Diner last night, both myself and my wife had the Beef Tips. You cannot really go wrong with the Broccoli and mashed potato but the Beef Tips were a different story. They were cut into cubes, my daughter said they looked like dog food! They were mostly inedible due to almost every piece of "beef" being full of tough grizzle. Slow service. I was sitting at counter by myself got coffee almost as soon as I sat down but then waitress disappeared for over 10 minutes. Luckily there was so much fish I didn't even need the fries. However, I would have liked some crispy good fries. I would suggest not tying up the bad on take out orders. It steams everything. This local diner is by far my favorite! They have a huge variety of menu items to choose from from breakfast to desert and everything in between. They serve breakfast all day and offer daily black board specials which are not listed in the menu. And don't forget the $2.99 all day/ every day mimosas and bloody Mary's. I tried the new peach sangria today and it was delicious! This was my first time there but between the excellent service provided by Cheryl and the seemingly endless food items to choose from, I will most certainly be going back to try more! read more

Great food. Friendly staff. Our food came promptly and hot. The only draw back is that they did not fix my breakfast pie the meat which is what I paid for. Waitress gave me $2 back which was the cost but the whole pie was not as good as it would have been with the meat. read more

May have been because we went about two weeks after the grand opening and they were still trying to get their groove. Huge portions and amazing service! We got the frittata special with chorizo, potatoes, mushrooms, onions and cheese. Biscuits and gravy was huge and great flavor. For a sampling of options, bissell breakfast has 2 eggs, toast, hash browns, choice of meat and pancakes. All was wonderful.
