We ate out for the first time in a very long time. They no longer have the Monte Cristo sandwich so I ordered the Club Sandwich with macaroni and cheese. My photo shows 3/4 of the giant sandwich. I had to eat it with a fork and knife. It was the best club sandwich I've ever had! The turkey was fresh, carved turkey breast (not lunch meat). The ham was a ham steak slice (I believe). The bacon was crispy (as it should be). The cheeses were cut thick (not limp packaged crap). My husband had the chicken pot pie. The chicken was huge pieces of white breast meat. The gravy was plentiful. The crust was perfectly baked. Lacey was our server. She was friendly and attentive. I'm glad we had to go out today. This was an awesome meal! We ordered delivery through Doordarshan, I ordered the roast turkey dinner, wife had sirloin tips. First, for what we paid, we should have gotten much more. I got 3 slivers of turkey on top of a salt mound that, I guess, was supposed to be stuffing, accompanied by 4 broccoli sprouts and 14 string beans! Oh, there was also a small container of cranberry sauce, normal amount for anywhere, there was also approximately 2 teaspoons of gravy on the meat & "stuffing" The wife said the beef tips were good, all 8 of them. Prices are high at this point in time, but, this is shrinkflation to the absolute extreme!!!! We'll NEVER eat here again! Poor food and minute quantities are a recipe for being ripped off. read more

Metro diner - a corporate owned chain of diners is not necessarily at the top of my list of dining options. However - COVID has forced us to dine at the few places that are now offering outdoor seating. That said, I have not been disappointed with either the Langhorne or the Bensalem locations as we have patronized both since entering the yellow phase. Smaller, limited menu options consisting of their top sellers, outdoor seating and mask wearing waitstaff will await you if you venture out to find a bit of normalcy before the second wave and we are locked down again. Every precaution has been taken here. I have watched the staff wipe down the used tables, chairs, door and railings. Tables outside the tented "outdoor seating" is available for us who prefer more air space. Small packets of syrup, catsup, butter and sugars offered in lieu of communal bottles. Real plates and glasses, no paper ware here. All in all Metro has risen to the occasion and have done so satisfactorily. I would definitely recommend if needing to be out and about yet still feel safe in a communal environment. read more

I am a HUGE fan of Metro Diner and was so sad that it opened up in Bensalem JUST as we decided to move north. We would travel to Bensalem to have the delicious chicken and waffles every so often, but with a newborn it was difficult to get out. Well my pancake prayers were answered because Metro built a brand spanking new building 5 minutes from my new house and our toddler loves pancakes! We have come twice and the service and food is just as delicious as the Bensalem location. We had the chicken and waffles (which we ALWAYS get at least one order of) and some type of fabulous sandwich. This time we the ruben and it was amazing. Whatever the sauce is inside is insanely good. Overall our lunch was excellent and our wait was not too long. I'm looking forward to going more often now that we have them so close. read more

When you love Thanksgiving with family and friends, but not the kitchen work required to feed everyone, the best thing to do is find a restaurant where turkey and all the fixings are on the menu for a reasonable price, and visit those dearest to you after the feast, but just in time for dessert. This year the choice was the new Metro Diner in the spot where the Wells Fargo Bank used to be in the corner of Lincoln Plaza Shopping Center. The place was a buzzing half full house, with full complement of cooks and service personnel putting the "fast" in Metro's fast casual dining. The Roasted Turkey Platter (3 large slices of white meat, blanched green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy) were placed steaming hot before me five minutes after ordering. It was all very good, and the included slice of pumpkin pie with dollop of whipped cream, the perfect alternative to the DIY option. The $15 per person charge gives "lazy" a good name. These guys were closing at 2 to give staff time with family. We went on to visit friends after their dinners and celebrated all we had to be thankful for for the remainder of the day. read more

Pleasantly surprised how good it was for a diner. I am not so much a diner person, with that being said, I had the chicken salad on a croissant with French fries. The fries came out steaming hot, the way I like them, even though I could only eat less than half. They were good as well as the sandwich, very tasty. The other half had meatloaf with brown gravy and mashed potatoes, and sautéed green beans. Don't usually get sautéed veggies in a diner, they were delicious. The meatloaf was good as were the potatoes. The place was very clean as was the bathroom. The waitress Nancy was very pleasant and attentive. The music was a mix of 70s-80s radio hits, and the volume was just right: loud enough to hear the song but not so loud as to interfere with conversation at your table. The portion was very good for the price; I shared some if it with with my husband, and I still had more than enough for a meal. The lightly-breaded chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was just the right amount. It really was superb. My husband had the grilled cheese sandwich which he said was very good. His platter came with onion rings that tasted like they were batter-dipped in cornmeal. There were plenty, so he shared them and they were also excellent. Our server was perfect: always visible, but not intrusively checking on you too many times. He stopped quickly after we were seated. Busy Saturday morning arrived to a super pleasant service staffs very attentive before seating. We sat indoors but outdoors was also packed. The menu is large but typical diner food. No options to Switch to a side salad instead of fries. Which I dont eat. Also EVERYTHING is fried. Yuck. How about a grilled chicken salad. The salad selection was very lacking too - everything is super sugary and carby. Wish they had just one item in the menu that was healthy. So don't come here if you have any dietary restrictions whatsoever. Service once at table was very lacking. And disappointing. We waited very Long for food and when it arrived it was missing items. I don't believe our server was very experienced. He either was very cloudy on his station or simply needs to be way more attentive to his customers. Nonetheless it's covid time so everyone gets a decent tip regardless. We get it. The chicken I had was pretty good. But that was it. I did not eat anything else other than some lettuce. The bacon piece was good. It was one piece. Außer flimsy tomato slice ( could have used 2 for that sandwich) So yeah I was really disappointed. The food was ok and the service was so so at best but the kicker was when I ordered a coffee with milk instead of creamer, the waitress charged me $2.79 for the milk. When I questioned her about my bill she blamed corporate for needing to charge me for an entire cup of milk. I'm a big coffee drinker and have never, ever paid extra for regular milk in my coffee instead of creamer. Why didn't I get a rebate for the creamer I did not use? Well, I walked in the front door as someone was walking out (about 2:45). I was greeted by a pleasant employee. I said "I'll just take a seat at the count" and she said "actually, we're closed" there was a pause and (as I looked around at 10 or so people eating lunch) she elaborated stating they close at 2:30 and open back up at 5pm for dinner, saying I must have sunk-in the locked door while that lady was leaving". Our office ordered from Metro Diner in Langhorne for in-office team Thanksgiving Luncheon. Everything was absolutely wonderful! The food, service and delivery was great. Jesus the kitchen manager confirmed everything with me the day before our event and there was plenty to go around and we even able to feed some guests that were visiting our facility that day. Feeling generous here with the 2 stars. Chili was meh, not inedible, but Hormel would give them a run for their money. Asked for chopped white onion and was told they only had red onions, no biggie, then was served with cooked yellow onions on top, weird. Fries were coated in Old Bay and overly salted. Fried chicken while super crunchy and moist was the saltiest thing I've ever been served, truly horrible. My sons Belgian waffle was good, but his sweet peach tea was way too sweet and needed to be watered down. I could go on but they don't deserve any more of my time. Take a pass. We tried the Metro Dinner again today and had a very different experience. The food was delicious and the service was exemplary. Lucas made our second visit an absolute pleasure. I had the Bissell breakfast and it was the quintessential breakfast with more food than a human being can eat. My wife had the broccoli cheddar soup which was on the thick side and very tasty. She had the chicken chop salad which was very good. The host staff was very attentive and accommodating. They said it would be about a 10 minute wait and we waited only 4 minutes. The staff seemed very friendly and the food was delicious. So this was the first trip to the metro diner and I cut this place a little slack considering it's only been open for about a week I believe breakfast was good it wasn't that great I had The rancheros breakfast it came out pretty quick for being so busy in the place. I was here last summer with my kids and had a great experience I specifically remember eating the Benedict with their homemade fried chicken fingers and grits and it was delicious I was looking forward to it unfortunately this experience in this time was much different I came in by myself and immediately was greeted by miserable young teenager who insisted that I sit at the counter which I refuse to sit down next to then she proceeded to sit me next to a large family and all I want is to sit in the booth by myself and eat some thing and go Regardless I got to sit in the booth after some argument my waitress was miserable she took my order and then after I finished telling her what I wanted she told me she forgot and asked me to repeat it again regardless I got the food the chicken fingers were not fresh they tasted like they were sitting and they just assembled the meal at the last minute the sauce was cold and the eggs were over cooked I definitely will not be coming back anytime soon read more
