This furnace was installed by Metro about 3 yrs ago; occasionally condensation leaks especially when intake air temperature is 20 or lower. I removed the condensation pump as it's output tube was frozen..He repaired the internal condensation leak and replaced the pump. read more

Quick and prompt service, available outside the usual 9-5! Who doesn't love a company that can work with your schedule instead of against it? We were able to get same day service in a time frame that worked for us. We were not being upsold the entire time like other companies I have used. The serviceman was more interested in helping us in a cost saving way then trying to make a fast buck. I highly recommend using Metro Heating Cooling and Mechanical services. We got a referral for a different HVAC company (Clint at Flow Tech Heating and Cooling, awesome guy!) who came out right away and resolved the issue. It was a part that was easily identified, since there are very few parts that could've been causing the problem. They did not charge us until the problem was fixed, unlike Bill! Clint said he never would've left a customer hanging without resolving the problem which is exactly how a business should be operated. We contacted Metro via Yelp and Bill contacted us within 30mins. He requested some pictures of the issue so he can bring the right tool along. We gathered some images the next day and Bill came to our house at 4pm when we made the cal at 9am. Most places we called have at least a 1-2 weeks waiting time. When he got to our place he explained what's going on, how he will fix the issue, and did further diagnostics on the entire system (not only on the part/drain pan that had the issue.). I'd been putting off having my furnace and AC serviced, but I finally contacted several companies for estimates. All got back to me with emails, replys on the ad sites, etc., but Bill was the only one who actually called me back. AND he said he could come out the next day. That impressed me, so I decided to pick him. He was prompt, professional, clean (sorry other guys, but... it matters), really nice, and totally knowledgeable about all things heating/AC. In other words, a great guy - an alert, intelligent, normal person- someone who puts you right at ease. He encouraged me to watch him as he went through all the parts of my furnace, explaining everything in ways I could understand. My fiancé and I recently purchased a home. With the first hot days of the year, we quickly found out that our AC doesn't work. Bill is the man!! He comes through in the clutch! Our AC went out in 106 degree heat we had a bad capacitor on the unit. Bill got to our home promptly and had us taken care of in 30 mins! Bill saved us back in June! We have an old Trane that started producing a bad, melting plastic smell (likely the windings and we had a clogged/dirty filter). Immediately called the first folks we could find to check it out... they wanted to replace the whole unit due to age and issues, and it was gonna be a lot of $$$ (especially because they created fake issues and upsell). I sought a second opinion and found Bill who not only offered a second opinion, but one that was new and different. He came out on a Sunday... yes, Sunday! Did a thorough examination (and we could totally tell he was "in the zone"). He found that our capacitor was shorted out. Had the part in his van and switched it out. $150 for his time, part and labor which was a sweet deal compared to other opinions and quotes we received. We happened to have someone else scheduled for Monday and that person came out and confirmed Bill's assessment and resolution. We were so appreciative of his honesty and expertise. My mom who is a senior citizen called Bill at Metro Heating & Cooling about 2 months ago with a non-functioning Carrier furnace that she just had installed in July 2016. It turned out to be that the Carrier ECM blower (Carrier specific) was broken. She had just had the furnace serviced in May 2018 and changes her furnace filters regularly. Bill said that her furnace filter was CLEAN after checking it. Also he noted that there were no blower motor obstructions. He came out right away, fixed it quickly and professionally. He had the part with him. The price he charged for the whole service call and labor was reasonable. ): Carrier, on the other hand, has extremely expensive parts and they are made in China. The price for the blower was over $500 which is very close to what the dealer charges Bill for the part. We were lucky that we had Bill do the work because he came the same day! My mother didn't have any heat. Bill is extremely responsive, checks his voice mail and gives a call back promptly! He is also HONEST. And secondly, I had Bill from Metro Heating & Cooling over today. That's because I was supposed to take delivery on a gas range and the Final Mile people who deliver for Whirlpool told me that they couldn't install it because my present gas range did not have an on/off valve behind it. They told me I had to get either a plumber or HVAC person to come out and install the gas shut off valve behind the range first. They are not allowed to work on any gas ranges that do not have that shutoff valve. (even though there is a shutoff available outside which everyone should have). It was about safety and convenience which I get. So as soon as they left (my new range now in my garage) I called Bill at Metro Heating & Cooling. Right after the call I texted him thinking that would be quicker than my voice mail. He responded in 5 minutes texting me "I'm on my way." And this was just after 4 in the afternoon! He came over and installed it easily saying that he works on gas appliances all the time. The whole thing was $165. I was so happy with Metro Heating & Cooling. By the way, he is the owner and is a one man band. Also I was able to get free info from him when I asked several questions about earthquake safety and he even checked my gas fireplace and water heater for me for no extra charge. Bill is the best! Call him first before you call any other HVAC companies. Some of them do not have the best technicians as employees. Not naming names here. It's good to know the owner of the company! read more

I just called at about 7:30 pm because on Yelp they said they were open. I wasn't expecting an appointment just to schedule one. We just got back from being out of town and realized our air wasn't blowing effectively and the house wasn't cooling off. I reached a gentleman and asked if they had any openings over the next 25 hours and his response was annoyed, "did you just realize your air was not working, I mean it's 7:30 at night and I was just in your area." I asked if he could repeat himself as I thought no way this guy is annoyed and sure enough, "did you just realize it's not working, have you been home all day and just calling now, I was in your area 20 minutes ago." Who acts like that. I didn't even ask for somebody to come it right away just asking to see if they had openings. What company chastises people like we are some idiot. read more

I called Bill at Metro because my furnace started to make a variety of sounds that were alarming. He was able to come to my house within a couple of hours. He diagnosed the problems almost immediately. The circuit board was failing on our 1992 Rheem gas furnace, which was causing the gas valve assembly to also begin to fail. While the furnace still worked ok, he said it was not far from a complete failure which would have required a total replacement. Lucky me! The parts were in stock, he went to get them, and was back very quickly. Parts were replaced and tested, and he also removed and cleaned the ridiculously-difficult-to-reach air filters (I will be more diligent in that respect from now on, knowing my furnace has a long life ahead). He also made some adjustments to the blower which has been set on its lowest setting all these years - maybe the house will heat up a little faster from now on. I appreciate Bill's promptness, his fair pricing, and his vast knowledge. read more
