Took a good friend who has never gone to Mew's . We both had the red sangria, was very good. We split the pulled pork nachos with guacamole on side. Wells done! Hot to the table, lots of flavor . Then split a large pizza it was a chicken, prosciutto and pasta with a pink vodka sauce. It was good, lots to take home as we could not even finish our first slice ..we were stuffed. One of my least favorite pubs ever. The two dishes I've had here were terrible: soggy pizza and soggy nachos. As an experienced craft beer fan, this place is a severe bummer. Dirty draft lines, they're often out of most of the beer menu, and on multiple occasions I've been served the wrong beer repeatedly. College meat market that doesn't care about quality. read more

Their buffalo chicken dip is awesome! The calzone crust is crisp and delicious. Great service and seating. I love the big tree in the tree room. They even have microwaveable to-go containers. If you are in the area it is a must. read more

The bouncer couldn't be any more rude and inconsiderate. He turns patrons away from the establishment and treats guests with utmost disrespect. Be on the look-out for the guy with the nose ring, he is unintelligent and awfully authoritative (bad combo). I wouldn't go back there if they were giving things away. read more

If possible, I would rate Mews 10 stars! I have been multiple times and have always been extremely satisfied with the food and service. Impeccable dinners at a great price with a cozy atmosphere (I love sitting by the large pizza oven). You MUST try their pizza with the pink vodka sauce! read more

Excellent food and service, BE WARNED: ranch is extra. After a short conversation with a food runner, I asked for ranch we had a comical exchange and he stated he'd give me a lot of ranch, which was apparently extra, it's not the fact I had to pay extra, it was the principle. We came here recently because we could not get into the very busy Matunuck Oyster Bar. The Mews was agreed upon as having something for everyone. Not my choice. This place was decent a dozen years ago and there was always a long wait for a table on weekends. Things have changed because the parking lot was mostly empty on a weekend evening in late August. We ordered drink specials and a calamari app which was tough, uniform size rings and no tentacles - obviously bagged, frozen Sysco item . Entrees were burgers and a baked shrimp special. Two plates came out carried by two food runners who could not figure out if these plates were ours. The dining area had maybe four other parties! Instead of using their headsets to find out they ran off with the plates, it was another 5 minutes before they came back with the entire order. By then two of us had cold food. The shrimp were advertised as "Jumbo" but instead were tiny, crunchy, overcooked, seafood stuffing (?) tasteless and to top it off, they put the salad on the same plate as the shrimp and Sysco potatoes. The Mews is OK as a beer hangout, but they need to seriously re-think the food piece. Also the dining room needs a major facelift. Painting the tree and the clouds gray? No. read more

This restaurant has never let me down, until today. 1.5 hour wait to be seated with party of 8. We got out-seated by 4 parties of 6, 3 parties of 5 and numerous parties of 4. Very frustrating when you have children. By no way it's this a reflection of the waitress/waiter staff; more so the host staff. Poor hosting decisions to jam more tables through first, over a single somewhat medium sized party. Never been this disappointed in Mews tavern as I have been this time. Sad. read more

I have been to the Mews many times over the years and it is usually pretty solid but this was by far my worst experience. My glasses fogged up when I walked in the entrance to get seated. I pulled my mask down just below my nostrils so my glasses would clear up so I could see where I was walking. The hostess nicely asked my to pull my mask over my nose which was fine. Then she continued to make a comment that if she has to wear a mask then so don't I. I was wearing my mask. I pulled it down for 5 seconds to let my glasses clear up. Look, I just waited 1 hour and 10 minutes in my car to eat at Mews, I don't need your snooty comment right after I walk in the door. Just STFU and take me to my table. We ordered the Buffalo chicken dip. There were barely any pieces of chicken in it and what small amount of chicken there was was dark meat. Plus the cook went a little haywire with the Gorgonzola cheese which left an overpowering taste. All we tasted was Gorgonzola cheese. We also ordered 2 calzones. Usually the calzones are stuffed pretty well. Not tonight. They were about 50% stuffed with fillings and the rest dough. The best part of the experience was paying the bill and getting out of there. Might go back after COVID but we'll see read more

Fantastic burgers and sandwiches. Atmosphere is cozy in the tavern but don't try to take any if the dollars off the ceiling. The restaurant has a log cabin feel - but like a reeeeally nice log cabin. Their annual Halloween party rocks but get there early. Beer selection is very good. read more

We seem to eat here often during the Summer as it isn't too far out of the way when driving home from the beaches. Last night, however, I decided making the trek from Cranston to Wakefiled for the sole purpose of eating here isn't really worth it. The food is mostly composed of pub-quality, pre-manufactured bar munchies. For instance, last night we had the veggie egg rolls for a starter. Clearly these arrived to the Mews frozen, and already assembled. For the best quality, as far as the food is concerned, I usually try to go for something off the daily specials. These items tend to have a bit more creativity and flavor involved. A couple of my favorites: the creamy eggplant soup, Guiness battered fish n' chips, fish tacos. And then, there is the beer: Mews is known for their 69 beers on draft, which, while impressive, is composed of 68 beers you can pretty much buy at any store and one exclusive (the Mews 69). For a place that touts it's rep on having a variety of beers, there isn't much here you can't get elsewhere. Even the back of the beer menu, which is supposedly "rare, limited release" beers, is usually made of 4 or 5 high-alcohol beers that can be found at your average craft beer specialty store. I was excited to see (and try) the Brooklyn Cuvee last night, but low and behold, they were out. Not a beer drinker? Mews also sports one of the best dram shops I've ever seen in RI and is a major contender when it comes to tequila variety. Service is never bad. Nothing to brag about, but fair. They make sure you have a full pint, which I guess is the most important factor when dining at the Mews. Atmosphere is a plus here. The huge tree in the middle of the dining room is awesome. Not to mention, the seemingly maze-like structure of the establishment makes navigating back to the parking lot after a couple cold ones a somewhat adventurous endeavor. read more

I haven't been to the Mews in awhile, and I finally went back when I was in south county this weekend. I forgot how good it is! When we got there just after the kitchen closed and the bar menu was all that was available, I was pretty bummed but I was proved wrong. I used to love the mews! But they changed their menu a little bit. Burgers, buffalo dip and pizzas are still on point and 69 beers on tap is amazing, but the service and the calamari were not. They need more bartenders, it takes way too long to get a drink no matter which bar your at! The calamari was also disgusting, something I don't think I have ever said before. The Thai dipping sauce is not right and the idea is not nearly as good as it sounds. Stick with the burgers and pizzas and you can't go wrong! read more

We have been several times with friends and family to this friendly tavern. Always excellent drinks, wonderful food (my kids especially like the make your own calzones) and good service. They always have something new in food specials and beers, and a fun atmosphere. As any good restaurant has, expect a wait to be seated during peak dining times, we try to go a bit earlier or later. read more

What a "flight" $9 for a flight of 4!! Jamaican pizza was great as was the steak quasadia.Happily content and full on food and drinks. Love the Mews Tavern from growing up, but it has definetly gotten over-priced as they've grown in popularity. The price for a burger now is outrageous ($10.50-$12). It's a great local spot that you can count on for a large beer selection, but be ready to spend some money if you go there for food. It will get pricey very quickly. read more

I'll give this bar/restaurant three stars due to the fact that several of the menu items were unavailable when I visited. But the service, drink selection, and (available) food was solid. The interior decor is pretty impressive though. Pricing is reasonable and there is ample parking in the lot behind the restaurant. read more

We had our rehearsal dinner here on Friday. We wanted a casual atmosphere for everyone to relax and hang out before the big day. It was great! Food was awesome and the service was good too. The seating was a little iffy- I asked for a couple lower chairs for booster seats and there wasn't any- we were offered only bar stools. I know it was casual and they probably didn't anticipate the few kids that we had. Food was good! It all came out hot and fresh and everyone loved it. We stop in at the Mews frequently because we love the food here. We stopped in last night for my fiancé's birthday. The food was great but we were seated near the pizza oven. It was so warm that it was uncomfortable that I didn't even eat a quarter of my entree before we decided to leave. I feel bad for the bar tenders over there because they have to cover the bar and tables in the area. I had to wait for a refill on my water a couple of times and had trouble flagging the waitress down. The staff was friendly, the food was good but I can only give 4 stars due to my lack of beverage and uncomfortable heat. read more

"No crap on tap" is the name of the game at this spot - with 69 beers (!) on draft. During breaks from college, I used to come here on the first Wednesday of each month, when they give away a free pint glass with each purchase of their featured beer. It's a great deal if you're looking to get drunk and stock your kitchen cabinets. read more

Mews Tavern had amazing service. The wait staff and hostess were great! Polite and speedy. My boyfriend and I have been at URI for a year and a half and went to celebrate the end of the semester and we weren't disappointed. We got the pork belly french fries for an app and they were delicious and well seasoned. I got the pink panther pizza for dinner which was very unique but not bad. My boyfriend had a burger that was juicy and filling. For dessert we had the peanut butter pie. Sooooooo yummy and savory. We paid about 55 (without tip) for an app, drinks, 2 entrees and dessert. I love this place! I come here with my girls almost every week. The only thing that keeps us away from ladies' night are hectic schedules, but we always find our way back to the bar upstairs. We love good beer and this is the place to get it. We've been through a couple iterations of the menu but the current menu is awesome! Steak frites, oyster burger, house rubbed wings are some of my favorites. We usually have Andrea is almost always our server and she is AWESOME. Bouncers are always friendly and it's just nice to go some place with good, food, people and atmosphere. read more
