Thank You God, for this place exists - I've been regularly ordering UberEats in this city for the past 3yrs. It's ideal when I need to stay late in the office or cannot leave for lunch. The only thing that I've felt negatively about when ordering from here is that the chicken in the alfredo isn't as charred as I prefer. Living and working downtown, I'm amazed by the lack of options matching that description. Posting negative reviews at a restaurant because, for instance, a staff member, whose probably not making loads of money, didn't treat you like the President is a completely and totally unreasonable expectation (this scenario is just an example of reviews I've seen for other restaurants and doesn't relate at all to my experiences at Mezza or the reviews I've seen for it). The fact that every gas station in the city has several, if not dozen, of reviews just gives you an idea of how many crybaby's exist, and their pettiness and emotional immaturity to handle the simplest obstacles in life - it's a gas station, crybaby's, not the the county club. Without question, each and every one of these overly-exaggerated, overly-embellished accounts directly impacts a businesses bottomline. The result is an unrealized financial burden, effective until yelp or the restaurant closes its doors (marginally diminishing relative to the pace of new reviews over time). This burden, which is dependent on the number of other reviews needed to dilute its impact, could be the difference of keeping a staff member or even being profitable, albeit under very extreme circumstances. I've been to Mezza Grille a few times now and have come to truly enjoy the selection of food, the service from the excellent wait staff and the laid back atmosphere that this Mediterranean establishment has to offer. There is usually no wait and the staff are very cordial upon seating and offering menus. This is a place to come to talk and relax after a long week. They have plenty of wine for all the wine lovers out there. Their appetizers, entrees and desserts are all excellent. I usually have no space left for the dessert because the entree and appetizers fill me up. From the various times I have had the privilege of visiting here, my favorite, and those of my family/friends, are as follow: Almost crusted brie (truly singluar experience), Falafel platter, Spicy chipotle seafood risotto, Cornish game hen, Mixed grill, Shish kabob, Lamb shanks, Kufta Kabob, and last but not least, Mango Stuffed Chicken (Seriously Delicious). I would also recommend the Mezza fried ice cream or the Creme Brulee for those with a sweet tooth. All in all, though it is a little pricey, the food and the experience are well worth it. Curry pasta, shish tawook, sesame salad, lemon butter chicken, tres leches, trio appetizer.. it's a shame this place is tucked in the corner of a plaza. One thing I cant justify paying anymore is the pita bread comes free with your meal but, if you want the crispy chips its an additional $4.95 add hummus $5.95. You're paying $10 for chips and hummus; nearly the price of a meal. Mind you, the chips are literally the pita bread with za'atar sprinkled on top and baked. One of the places where they just don't have one standout dish, but a lot of dishes are actually good. One of my favorites is the grilled diced chicken. It's marinated in a sweet mediterranean sauce. It comes w/ saffron rice and veges, but the standout is the yogurt sauce...that white sauce that you dip w/ the chicken is seriously like crack, its so good you can't get enough of it..literally, can eat the whole cup of sauce itself. The chicken is perfectly made everytime and full of taste. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I had it and have went back for it everytime. Their stuffed mango chicken is also good but a bit pricier. Service can be slow at times. Their free breadsticks are also good :) read more

The main dishes were well done but a slight miss overall as I think the menu was so big the quality was spread across too many differing items and hence no one thing was done really well. I was disappointed in our recent visit. To start with, they won't take groups larger than 6. That was OK at the time because we only had three couples for lunch. We asked if we could split the bill and were surprisingly told no. When the bill came we asked if we could give her three cards and split the bill evenly and were once again told no. The only the reason I gave this three stars was the food was fine. These folks obviously care more about accommodating themselves than their customers. Interestingly, we went to Los Tios the same night with another couple. Our server split our bill without our asking. That's customer service! read more

This is my "go to" restaurant when I am in Houston! Today I was in a hurry, so I got the Chicken kabob to go. Pure perfection . Juicy and fresh plus their sauce is blissfully addictive. Grilled veggies were so yummy too . In addition, this is a family owned business with very friendly & caring owners. The restaurant is beautiful and immaculately clean. Tables are social distanced and all staff are wearing masks. I strongly recommend this restaurant for consistently delicious & freshly prepared food, along with outstanding service. First time trying Mezza Grille, and I am really impressed! I had the chicken shish tawook platter with a side of sweet potato fries. The platter came with grilled veggies and rice. The chicken was the best ever - so juicy, with just the right touch of sweetness and spice. I usually don't even eat rice, but the rice was delicious, aromatic and hard to resist. LOVVEEEE this place! I've been here a few times already! I've had the Texas Baked Goat Cheese, Spicy Blackened Fish Sandwich, Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich, Falafel Platter, Mango Stuffed Chicken & some of their drinks like the Tito's Pick Me Up & their margaritas. There are plenty of other options. Food has always been great & the staff as well. Great place to bring some friends to for drinks & food or even to have a romantic date.I usually come with 2-4 friends & we all order different items. They always have good music playing to. One of the best food experiences I've had in Houston in a while. The food is absolutely the star of the show here. Mango stuffed chicken is a must, calamari cooked to a perfect crispy exterior and the interior is still the perfect texture. The risottos with the seafood are extremely generous. Very safe and sanitary interior accompanies a classic Houston dark paneled vibe. The desserts are outrageously good. The venue was quite suitable for a fancy romantic dinner and the portions were adequate in size. I went yesterday for a friends birthday dinner though and I ordered the cheese ravioli with an Alfredo sauce. I tend to stick with a lower priced menu because I'm on a college budget and so on. The ravioli itself was good, it was thick and creamy and each ravioli pocket was large in size, it came with two small slices of a garlic olive oil pepper toast, a garnished grilled fried onion piece in the middle, and was a suitable $14. The server was nice and checked in on our table every so often. Unfortunately however it took over half an hour to get our food, but it wasn't that bad of wait for me. Note: we also had a party of 11 and at around 7:30 at night it would seem appropriate to at least reserve for such a big party. IN TURN it accounted for our food wait time. We are pleased with the recommendation of mixed grill kebab platter with fillet mignon, angus ground beef and chicken, served with rice and grilled vegetables all done very well, and try with dollop of garlic mayo. We also enjoyed the lamb dish with blend of herb and spices, which tease the palette with flavors and textures from roasted walnuts and almonds, served with a red sauce (non-spicy). I'm so pleased to say that since my initial first review which was close to two years ago, this little nook still holds a special place in my heart, and in my tummy. The food is still just as delicious, every bite, from the first to the last is a fiesta in your mouth. Another thing that hasn't changed is their tendency to serve large hearty portions, which keeps me in a battle from what I eat because I'm actually hungry, and what I keep eating just because it's so darn good and I can't resist but to keep stuffing my face! Today is the first time my husband and I visited Mezza Grill. The server, Alex (Stemson), has been very helpful. The appetizer, Texas Baked Goat cheese was very good. My husband ordered the Spicy Chipotle Seafood Risotto and I ordered the Lunch Trio from the lunch menu. The lobster bisque was very flavorful as was the risotto.
