Quick service at 7pm on a Friday night. We were seated almost immediately. You order through a QR menu on your phone and the food comes out within 10-15 minutes. For some reason you can't pay on your phone... Sechuan noodles were tasty. Perfect blend of spice and a brothy noodle. Spicy beef app was really dry and not very flavorful. I wouldn't get it again. Went on a solo date here and had a really good time. All the dishes looked amazing, and I really appreciated that their online menu has pictures of the food. I was seated relativity quick and the food was also quick to come out after ordering. The staff is brief but friendly and it added to a good experience. I really liked the option of ordering things from your phone so you're not flagging down staff, it felt really efficient. The inside looked clean and they were organized in getting people in and out. For the food I got the popcorn chicken and the mapu tofu noodles. Both were amazing and I am looking to coming back for them or the beef soup which looked amazing as well. Stopped by for quick noodles for lunch! Parking lot can get really crowded on weekends with all the restaurants in the same shopping complex. Order at table using QR menu. Servers will bring the check when done. We got the recommended chengdu noodles and chose lease spicy. Slight heat but not hot at all. We also got the rice version as well. Since today is a special day, I wanted to eat somewhere good. I've decided on Mian to meet up w a couple of associates for lunch and to have noodles to signify & celebrate "long life." I got the Spicy Beef Noodle (extra spicy) and my companions got Chicken Dumpling Soup and Beef Noodle soup. We also got the fried oyster mushroom appetizer which happens to be vegetarian and super fire!! Yummm!!! All our soups were so delicious and heart warming. Mian has the best quality noodles I've ever had!! I love Mian noodles and frequently go to the San Gabriel location. This Mian in Artesia is just as good and the quality is also as excellent as the San Gabriel location... which tells me that the Mian brand is consistently fire!! I love the mapo tofu noodles at mian. However, I think there is an issue with consistency of quality among the locations. Specifically this one. The day I went, the service was subpar to be honest. However, I'm not one to care too much for service as long as the food is good. The food that day was questionable. My boyfriend got a beef noodle soup and his bok choy had dirt all in the root of the bulb. I uncovered each layer, and they all had dirt. I've attached a photo of the bok choy with the dirt for reference. My boyfriend thought maybe the "dirt" was actually seasoning. I thought maybe I misjudged so we went to a different Mian in Rowland Heights several weeks later. The Mian in Rowland Heights was a million times better. The taste of their Mapo Tofu noodles and beef noodles were of higher quality compared to the Cerritos location. I checked all the layers of the bok choy in my boyfriend's soup and they were CLEAN. Not a single speck. Service was also really good. I remember the Cerritos location being better in the past and I hope it can return to what it used to be. read more

I was in the mood for Szechuan style Chinese and came across Miân as a reasonably priced casual restaurant with an amazing variety of dishes. Upon entering, the restaurant felt vibrant yet fresh. The ordering system is website/QR code-based, which isn't my favorite but luckily the website was easy to navigate. My food started coming out within 5 minutes of ordering! For my appetizer I ordered their pickled cucumbers and black fungus (pickled wood ear mushrooms), which were so flavorful! They were both such simple yet satisfying appetizers to complement my entrees. My party ordered family-style since we wanted to try a little bit of everything. Our entrees included the vegan mapo tofu noodles, cheesy shrimp balls, fried chicken, shrimp fried rice, and spare rib soup. My favorite dish was the mapo tofu, which had a medium spice (spice isn't adjustable for this dish). The cheesy shrimp balls were a bit of a pleasant surprise since I don't associate shrimp with cheese. The balls were 90% hollow with melted cheese in the inside, but the hollowness made it a fun, light, crispy dish. The fried rice wasn't cooked how I'm used to and had a lighter flavor to it, which I ended up preferring since the other dishes that had heavy Szechuan style sauces. I honestly ordered tons of quality food for less than $100, enough to feed my party of four, plus leftovers! I definitely look forward to dining here again. read more

Tried Mian for the first time recently and it has quickly made its way into my regular rotation. My favorite noodle soup dish here is the sour golden beef noodle soup (not sure if that's the exact name but it's something along those lines). The soup is so flavorful and pairs so well with the sliced beef. Sides and appetizers - my favorite dishes are the cold seaweed and the popcorn chicken. The seaweed is so refreshing and light. The popcorn chicken is different from the traditional Taiwanese version but very good in its own way. Had a great experience at MIAN and am already thinking about coming back and eating here again. The Szechuan style of food they sell here is what makes it stand out as it is not very common in other Chinese food places in the area. I had the Chengdu noodles that come with ground pork and bok choy and a side of popcorn chicken. The noodles were great. I have no complaints. When mixed in with the sauce, they can get quite spicy, and this is coming from someone who ordered the medium level (there are three spice levels in total), but it is still an enjoyable spice that mixes well with the food. Additionally, the popcorn chicken was also really good, the pieces were nice and big and the chicken was crispy. I had ordered some mustard sauce on the side with my chicken. When the waiter brought the chicken over, he did not bring the sauce. So I flagged him down and asked him to bring it over, but he did not understand what I was asking for. It seemed like English was not really his first language. He ended up calling his coworker on the phone and had me explain to her what it is I wanted which she then was able to translate to him. After this, he brought over the sauce lol. I just wanted to say that I thought it was funny the way he was so determined to figure out what it is I wanted but I also really appreciate his dedication. I didn't get his name but I send him my thanks. What I liked about the ordering process here is that you just sit down and scan a QR code. Mian might set the standard for noodle. Both dishes we ate had phenomenal noodle. The Chengdu Zajiang is the showstopper and a must-get, flavor profile must just ridiculous throughout the dish a top of a phenomenal noodle. This is the 5 star dish that earns a 5 star review. It will leave your palate tingling and wanting more. The Spicy Beef is good but not something that having me running back. It did not pack as much flavor as the Chengdu but I will give points for an excellent prep on the beef - I don't think I've ever had a beef soup with beef cooked to a pink center (you can see it in my photo). I'd rate this dish a 4 just on a pure tastiness scale, I'd try something else next time for sure. We also had the cucumber salad which was fantastic. Go get some Mian! read more

I'm going to start this review with the conclusion...this place is excellent and you won't be disappointed!!! Ok, so now the details. We came middle of the week, on a slower day. The staff were friendly and greeted us right away. They were also accommodating as we had a child with us who needed a high chair. We had 4 adults, a toddler and we ate family style so we were able to try quite a few items. We had 2 orders of spicy beef noodles, tomato and beef stew noodles, chengdu noodles, pork pot stickers, popcorn chicken, and a side of rice. Everything was excellent, even down to the side of rice (which shouldn't be a big deal, but even that exceeded expectations). The spicy noodles were perfect at medium heat, full of flavor and depth. The chicken was crispy and flavorful. The pot stickers were spicy, but super yummy. And the Chengdu noodles were actually the show stopper, full of flavor and character, they are a must! I've been to this cerritos location many times and it is one of my favorite noodle places. The service here is always exceptional and the place is well lit and cozy. I always get the spicy beef noodles, but they also have many other noodles dishes to try. They also have a great selection of appetizers. Two of my favorites are the fried chicken and dumplings. The chicken is well spiced and crispy. Meanwhile, the dumplings have a chewy skin and packed with meat on the inside. I would definitely recommend you try this location out. My whole life I've been obsessed with zhajiangmein. So much so that it's one of my go to home recipes I've been making for decades and I always order it when it's on a restaurant menu, even if it is missing a lot of key ingredients. That said, Mian's sichuan version (think more spicy and savory than sweet) is one of the absolute best I've ever eaten, with no hyperbole. It's super unique and you can adjust the level of mala spice in it. It's a must when visiting Mian, the noodle shop project from James Beard nominated chef Tony Xu of the famous Chengdu Taste. I can't handle spices usually but the spices are so well done here (the perfect combo) that I can finally experience how heat brings more flavor without feeling like I'm dying. Tip: order your ZJM as mild if you're apice sensitive like me. Anothet tip: order their cooling mung bean drink and take sips between bites of food bc the mala spices really add up! I also tried their you tiao (no soy milk available unfortunately), beef noodle soup, and their sichuan style dumplings. Everything was amazing and I'm craving them all again just writing this review. Has been my lunch spot for a few weeks now. Food quality has always been great; would recommend their fried chicken for sure. The only thing that bugs me is the price of fried eggs - I would order 2 eggs everytime I go there if they charge one fried egg for $1.50, but they charge an egg for $3.00, which is pretty insane in my opinion, especially being a bib gourmand restaurant. Hopefully they can decrease the price of fried eggs soon. And if anything else, would recommend waiters to seat customers whereever they want to sit when it's not rush hour and the restaurant is moderately empty. I've had Mian at the SGV location, but last Wednesday was my first try at the Artesia location. A +1 and I came in for dinner. The place was almost full with 2 table to spare around 7PM. Service was great. At the time, there was one woman running (friendly) and 2-3 cooks behind the glass display. It looked like one was making the dishes up front and the dumplings were coming from the back. Food did not take long to arrive after ordering on their app. We orders the chengdu noodle and rice variations as well as a small order of the pork dumplings and the chili oil chaoshou. We also ordered a peach tea and osanthumus drink. Noodles and chaoshou were definitely the way to go. I can't handle my spice anymore and I opted for mild which was perfect for me.
