Lunch chicken chimichanga
Lourdes V.

Stopped in for a quick lunch on a Friday, we were seated right away in Alfonso's section. I went with the lunch menu chicken chimichanga, served with rice & beans, sour cream & guacamole. Food came out hot, plate was hotter. Service was fast and friendly. Dining room area is huge, they have a lunch menu with the basics tacos, salad, chimichanga, combos. Plenty of parking.

Our group had a gathering at Mi Amigo's restaurant. We booked way in advance and got their private room. We had a Mexican buffet. The food was good except that it was lukewarm. To be expected with a buffet. We had a good selection of food. We had rice, beans, cheese enchiladas, 3 types of chimichangas, shredded beef, taco shells, guacamole, shredded cheese and salad, and onions. Nice decor in the event room. Huge shared parking lot.

At the bar waiting for our other people to arrive

Came here with a party of 12+ to celebrate a birthday party. The place is very spacious and clean, and immediately has that Mexican vibe. They have a separate room for large parties, but we were able to fit in the dining area. We sat at the bar top area and waited for the rest of our group, and they were quick and friendly there too. The bar top is kinda small and can only seat maybe 8 people. Service was quick and all the people that came by to help us were super friendly. It wasn't super busy but there were probably about 10 other tables full. I got the mango shrimp quesadilla and it was good. Nothing too amazing or spectacular, but definitely not bad. Overall it's a decent place for a special occasion but I wouldn't go out of my way to compete.

Taco salad. Absolutely delicious!!

One of the best little Mexican restaurants we've been to, the service is always fast and the food is delicious!

Mi Amigos menu

We were craving Mexican food tonight and my husband suggested Mi Amigos. I was very happy to see salt already on the table, I don't know if it was an oversight or not, but I sure appreciated not having to ask for it. We both had a margarita, mine was raspberry, his was strawberry, both were fruity and refreshing. We love coming here because their crispy tacos are always stuffed with lots of meat. We occasionally chose the same meal, and after some deliberation, my husband decided to join me with a Numero Tres. This dish has two crispy tacos, a cheese Enchilada in red sauce, mexican rice and beans. It did not disappoint! Every bite was absolutely fantastic!!! We both brought home some leftovers. :) The wait staff was on point. As people left, they swooped in, and thoroughly cleaned the empty booths. There was a steady flow of patrons the entire evening. At the bar, the playoffs were on a big screen TV, and once in a while we could head a 'whoop whoop' as a favorite team scored a TD. It was such a pleasant feeling of normalcy in these crazy times. Thank you for a wonderful date night dinner, we will be back again soon!

I love mi amigos and always have! Ever since I was a kid I'd pick this place as my birthday dinner spot. I must say over the years though it has upped its spice game. My grandma isn't the biggest fan, but I have no issues with it. Sometimes the salsa can be a bit over powered by the spiciness, so my only suggestion would be to calm it down a little. I placed an order for pick up yesterday and the girl who helped me order was super nice and thorough! I wish I got her name because she got everything I asked for, including a little smiley face on the kids meal, and she helped carry it out to my grandmas car. I love this place please never go out!

Geo was a very attentive waiter. The atmosphere was great. The food delicious and price was fair. I would go back. The chili relleno was good but different. Almost like Tex mex food. The salsa was killer!

Food was not great and overpriced. Had very nice service, but honestly Taco Bell would've been better for lunch.

Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future.

Carne asada burrito which came with chipotle cream sauce, carne Asada, and pico. Also beans and we asked for no rice. We both had rice on the side with beans. The burrito was nice and big. The rice was really good. And the beans were mediocre. The burrito was good, except the only bad thing I would say it was a little too greasy, and when you bit into it, all the greasy juice came out. I'm not sure if we would go back maybe, to try something different.

The parking lot outside was parking so we thought we may have to wait, but inside was not busy yet and we were seated immediately. I ordered the smoked chicken enchilada as I saw it was a Yelp favorite and it was delicious. I ended up taking half of it home since we all filled up on chips and salsa before our meal. This restaurant is decorated so cutely. I love how there is a Baja influence with all the surf boards but also southwest appeal. There is plenty of seating and tables for big groups. Even with other people yapping around us, the noise level was perfect to enjoy company. 10/10 would recommend.

There were heaters available if we needed them, as we sat outside. Our amazing and friendly server offered to turn the heaters on for us, but we didn't need them. I enjoyed a Oaxacan Old Fashioned (on the sweeter side, but that's what I like), we had the Elote (BEST I'VE EVER HAD), and I also had the Carne A La Tampiquena. Everything tasted amazing and was served fresh and in a timely manner. We will most certainly be back (and you should visit, too!)!

Update: the owner messaged me and told me to buy an entire chicken. Uh, maybe put some chicken in the chicken burrito? Update #2: The owner sure does like to argue with the customer back and forth. Now, he proposed that I order from Chipotle instead since they fail to give customer what one paid for. Update #3: The owner still going back and forth with me and now claiming I did not pay for the burritos. Not really sure what he means by that. But here is the screen shot of 2 burritos ordered via DoorDash. This is just wild.

Got the $30 Plato Campechano between 2 ppl (half chicken, half a pound of Carne, flour and corn tortillas, rice, beans from the pot, salsas, grill jalapeños, guacamole, limes, and radishes). Decent amount of food, although the chicken and carne were both a bit dry. I enjoyed the beans and rice, and the additional accouterments. Overall, good flavor and seasonings, just dry protein. Not sure if that would change on a busier day if fresh food was being pumped out, but would be open to checking this place out again!
