We called ahead to ask if there was a wait for a group of 8 and they just told use there wasn't any wait so we walked in and just waited a couple of minutes so no problem there , as we waited next to the hostess section , we can over hear the manager and a server talking about our party . I think they were having trouble placing us somewhere and the manager told the hostess that we should've called in advance & then the server proceeded to say, well I don't want that big table and walked away. I thought it was very rude to say it infront of us and that why I rated this place with 2 stars. But the food was delicious! Christian was our server & no complaints! He was awesome and super attentive even though he was running around everywhere thank you for making us feel welcomed. The busser was very attentive with us too hes super great at his job . Honestly this place was so disgusting there are so many better and real Mexican restaurants in north side. The chips were so stale, salsa tasted like tomato sauce and the queso was that cheese you get at a baseball game. It was so bad we didn't even order and left immediately. On top of that our waitress never came to us and went to the table right next to us constantly. Seriously just drive to north side and you'll find way better food even Taco Bell is better read more

when we got there we were in a hurry because we were going to watch a play near by, we go in the and say we need to hurry, we are going to a play, and they don't care, they take their time, so we ask again about a big table (that would seat all of us) they say, "Ya we will get you there in a second." then they walk up to us and say sorry we are going to put someone else there. When we were the ones that were there first, and we called and everything. This is ridiculous I highly recommend the jakes that is right next to it. read more

We've been here many of times, but really preferred Taco Diner till they closed it here in Ft. Worth. Came for the Mambo Taxi we missed having at Taco Diner. This place is supposed to be more up scale, but lots of flys and gnats all around us. $22 for the shrimp brochette that were extremely small and seemed like they just put cheese over them, nothing special. The chips were stale. We asked to swap them out and they were stale. The table beside us said the same thing and the waiter said sorry they are all like this. I think it's Mi Cocina's policy to offer fantastic food and strong drinks (I'm eyeing you Mambo Taxi) but have crappy service. This is the second location I've been to and the service has been lacking each time we went. We went here on a Saturday night so naturally there was a wait, especially since we had a larger party. The wait was about 30 minutes and this place was hopping with people coming in and out due to it's ample seating. After the valet dude outside gave us a tip to go get a cheaper pre-drink at Jake's a few doors down, we finally got called to sit down. This location is ultra trendy and had all kinds of people there as opposed to the snooty persona that pops into my mind when I think of trendy things. We sat down in a booth which was goof for four to five people but then when the sixth came down, it was a little too close for comfort. As I said before, the service was bad. Our waiter had no personality whatsoever and he barely said anything to us like important information such as his name. We ordered our drinks and noshed on their spicy salsa and chips. He finally came back to get our order and since last time I tried the tacos de pescado, I wanted to try the tacos de brisket. But what do you know, he didn't write anything down and I got the tacos de pescado instead. Luckily it's tasty with a generous portion of fish and veggies but I wanted some brisket! He seemed to pull a disappearing act after that so I really couldn't complain so I just kept eating and enjoyed the meal. But cmon Mi Cocina--what is up with the melancholy service?? read more

Very disappointed, first time eating Tex mex/Mexican food in Texas, I'm visiting from DC. The food seemed like it was made from cheap ingredients. The onions were horrible, tasted like paper off the onion, hard to chew. The steak was made from a cheap cut of beef, but this was the tastier part of this dish. The chicken was like it was carved from a roast chicken, it was just weird. Worst combo fajitas I've ever had. So sad. :( salsa was awesome though. read more

Was in town for a Pokémon Go Event and wanted Mexican Food. This place was clean and the service was absolutely excellent. I asked for a Dr Pepper and water and received one Dr Pepper and then when I asked for chips and salsa, I never got my salsa and had to savage chips from my moms table. Although the waitress was nice, the food was terrible. I ordered the shrimp tacos. There was so much grease or oil added, the napkins I used to dab it didn't help. I asked for fresh corn tortillas but it still did not taste good. Shrimp tacos is one of my favorite dishes. read more

Slightly upscale Tex-Mex option that some friends and I tried while in downtown Fort Worth for a conference. Our server, Jennifer, was the highlight of the meal. Despite it being the lunch rush, she made us feel like we were the only party she was serving. Drinks were filled. Chips were refilled. And our orders came out perfectly. Food? Overall excellent. I had a combination plate with a cheese taco, crispy beef taco, and a cheese enchilada. All were perfect, but I wish the menu had mentioned the onions served in the cheese enchiladas. Our queso and salsa were excellent. The others at the table raved about the brisket enchiladas and tacos they tried. Definitely one of the better options for a great meal in downtown Fort Worth. read more

ONLY reason this wasn't a 5-star experience was due to the lack of urgency to sit my group of 15 people. Reservations where made and perhaps they have a policy where all guest must be present before seating (which I respect) but it got to a point where WE were throwing suggestions to the staff of where to sit us (that's how long we waited) but we kept getting no's Finally, they decided to sit us in the back in an (almost) private room. Phenomenal Mexican food and the always delicious and powerful Mambo Taxi frozen swirl. Hard to beat Mi Cocina for food and atmosphere. The Tacos Al Carbon with rib-eye (medium rare for me) was out of this world. Sides of guacamole and beans were just as good. read more

Everything I wanted it to be and more. First, the place is way bigger than it appears in pictures. Bar, lots of seating, outdoor patio, good ambiance. We took our waitresses' suggestions on food, tacos de pescado and brisket tacos....ahhhhhmazing. The Perfect margarita was PERFECT. Every time my boyfriend glanced around someone appeared, ready to assist. He was choking at one point and was still able to order more chips because a concerned employee stopped by.
