Taking a star away because there were lots of flies in the restaurant that became annoying, couldn't wait to leave to get away from the flies. Coming from Los Angeles not really knowing where I can eat a tasty Mexican meal, Mi Ranchito completely blew my mind. A small hole in the wall indeed it is but pacts an atomic punch in flavor. Johnathan who was my server created me with great customer service. Definitely a tag on this location next time I return to have something different on there menu. There tacos plate of al pastor was A1 there Sopa de Res as well one of the best I've had. I also had a taco of lengua and of tripa and both were just as amazing and very well seasoned. Best taco I've had in a very long time!

I had a Al pastor burrito and 2 Beef tongue tacos. The burrito was mediocre I didn't finish it being it was pretty bland and the al pastor had alot of fat. The tongue tacos we ok, nothing special not the worst I've had. Wouldn't come again though being Mexican this Mexican food is pretty Half-assed. It's taco Tuesday for us. Go visit Martha and she will treat you right. Martha will make your food the way you like it. I have some diet requirements to adhere too and Martha is always willing to accommodate me. The food is good and fresh. Portions are not too large but will fill you up. The price is always right. If you have a microwave you can make half the food on their menu. The huevos rancheros were wack and I wasn't at all impressed. Tacos El Rey on Sutro (not too far away) is 10 times better and the food by far is legit. The seafood is especially good, try the ceviche (shrimp marinated in lime) and you'll be hooked. Ok, 5 stars is rare but let me start. We spend usually quite a few months during the winter in AZ and for the last 6 years. During that time we've tried a lot of Mexican restaurants and have found 1 in Maricopa, AZ. We've tried just about all in town here and we've been here for over 35 years. So we compare restaurants to this one. The one in AZ is a small not a chain but nice place and always busy. I usually start with the Spanish/Mex rice if they can't get that right then I don't expect much after that. So my review on this unassuming place. The hostess was really attentive and friendly. My wife ordered Chili Relleno Burrito and I ordered 3 tacos with a side of rice. The rice was perfect better then my favorite spot in AZ. My tacos were beef tongue and the meat was tender and fresh. You can tell if it's fresh because they don't quick fry it to bring it back up to temp. My wife's Chili Relleno Burrito was fresh and super tasty. Everything was fresh and a lot of it. Prices were really fair for what you get in freshness and size. I will definitely make this my go to place. read more

Mi Ranchito is about as authentic a taqueria you are going to find this far north of the boarder in Reno, NV. It is off the beaten path, not far from UNR and in a tiny strip mall. The place is small with minimal decor, the service is friendly and the food is fresh and very nicely prepared.You are likely to find items on the menu that do not show up at your standard Gringo-fide Mexican establishment. I mean how many place have you seen Armadillo in these parts as one of the menu offerings. The chips are not the greatest we ever had but the salsa is tasty. Our chile rellenos were outstanding and I like the fact you can get whole beans as well as refried beans. The carnitas our friend ordered looked delicious so we have to go back to give them a try. We ordered flan for dessert and it was a good as flan gets. Along with a couple of Modelo Especials (we asked for glasses and were brought 3 ice cold frosted mugs) and we were three very happy amigos. read more

Had dinner on Sun evening best Armadillo ( mochahejo) ever: smoky tomato base & very generous with prawns & not not small ones either. There were at least 8 for this dish that serves 2. Tortillas seemed to be home made: grilled with blisters- delicious! Son had enchildas & enjoyed immensely. Server was very attentive: water was refilled & we were checked on periodically. Claims has happy hour: 2 32 oz margaritas for 8.00. Gonna have to return soon! read more

this burrito is larger than most babies and is easy to eat because it doenst have any of those meddlesome bones.

All I can say is its perfect and so homemade and fresh and fast I love it. The outside might scare you away but it's totally worth it.

This place is so good! I've been here a few times, ordered something different every time and each time it was great. The fries, either carne asada or al pastor, are BOMB. Also the super quesadilla is not super huge in size but has everything and more inside. There's never really anyone else sitting down in the restaurant, I think most people order to go. But the service is great the staff is very friendly! Highly recommended!! read more
