This restaurant offers traditional, delicious Mexican food. The food is fresh, fast and the service is always friendly. They are open everyday but I've noticed throughout the years that their hours do change so call first if you are unsure if they are open. The burritos are delicious and well-priced. Sorry for the two star, but we hate breaking in a new waitress, first time she waited on us she blew the order then got defensive and the service got real slow after that, we didn't say anything, she was new, Friday night we got the same gal, don't know her name, she has the sides of her hair shaved , started out ok, we started with soup, she dropped it off and we were just starting to eat and she dropped our main dishes off and honestly it looked like the rice and beans had been pre dished and had been sitting before our tacos were made and had dried out, I said something to her about the main dish getting to the table before we were even half done with our soups, she mumbled something about a lot of orders and then split. We didn't see Patty and said something to Ricky, he said he would take care of it, then she dropped off the bill, $52.00 for some tacos and two soup that we didn't get a chance to eat didn't sit well,not our usual experience here and begs the question,where did all the old waitress go? read more

We recently had lunch at Mi Ranchito, and we're greatly surprised. This little restaurant is a little hidden gem in the University of Nevada area. They start with chips, authentic salsa, and bean dip. The entrees were very authentic Mexican food, served hot and delicious. They also have a choice of bottled beer, and sodas on hand. There isnt enough staff, but they hustle and do their best to take care of everyone so that brings it up to a 3 star. Fried taco, meh. I wanted to give this place 5 stars, Mexican food is my favorite. Unfortunately I have lived in Mexico and Texas (Tex-Mex is the best!) so I could only give this place 2. I know that the more north I go the less tastiness & flavor Mexican food will have but I was so hopeful about this place! Sadly it totally disappointed me. The atmosphere is fine, it's like a 'hole in the wall' type of place. Servers and cashier were friendly and the prices were really good. The food though was just not good at all. I ordered a combo plate that had 1 enchilada & 1 tamal covered in red sauce, and rice & beans. The tamal was okay, the meat inside wasn't chopped that well so it had chunks of meat in it. Some of those chunks were straight up fat so I couldn't even eat most of it. The meat in tamales (and enchiladas) is supposed to be chopped finely. The enchilada was just not good, I couldn't eat it. The meat had the same chunkiness and was dry. So it was kind of like eating a really really soggy taco. The red sauce that was over the enchilada & tamal tasted bitter, like it was just from a can that had been left open so now it just tasted oxidized and really bad. The refried beans had way too much oil and absolutely no salt, they were really gross to eat and I really do feel bad to say that. The rice was actually alright, not mushy but just plain Spanish rice, nothing great about it but I could eat it. What was good and in my opinion really good, was the red salsa that came with the tortilla chips. It was made perfectly and it was a little bit spicy which I like. I would go back just to get that salsa alone. All in all, I didn't care for this place, I didn't like the way the food tasted. It was just not good. read more

I have had quite a few of the items on their menu and found most to be very tasty! I often order the tongue burrito , tacos and the deep fried fish, all are great ! The burritos are huge and very tasty! They also have a spicy shrimp cocktail that comes in a large goblet,Spicy hot and tasty! The Mundo is also excellent,and spicy! I like the food alot,however I usually get it to go,because it tends to get quite loud with the music and the local neighbors the eat there often! Someone once told me that if you are eating ethnic food and a lot of people of that ethnicy eat there it is a good sign that it is authentic! That is the case here! Close by today for an event for my daughter. Used Yelp to find a close place to grab lunch. Food was excellent. Service quick and I had my to go order ready in five minutes while I waited. Went in for a casual dinner, and was disappointed. Not vegan-vegetarian friendly. The "veggie" burrito was obvious cooked with some kind of animal products (probably lard in the beans), and got violently ill. Service was lackluster. The location was a bit sketchy at night, but I'm definitely glad we stuck it out because the food was absolutely incredible!
