Sort of stuck on the this review. Personally, to my taste the food was mostly 2 and a half star. There isnt enough staff, but they hustle and do their best to take care of everyone so that brings it up to a 3 star. Fried taco, meh. Ordered carne Asada fries and 4 tacos (2 carne Asada and 2 carnitas). It's just quality food. Like super cheap and delicious, keeps the average college kid goin. The atmosphere is always fun and interesting. I like it. read more

Close by today for an event for my daughter. Used Yelp to find a close place to grab lunch. Food was excellent. Service quick and I had my to go order ready in five minutes while I waited. We ordered a quesadilla, super quesadilla, tacos and nachos. What a great find! We will be back again. read more

I wanted to give this place 5 stars, Mexican food is my favorite. Unfortunately I have lived in Mexico and Texas (Tex-Mex is the best!) so I could only give this place 2. I know that the more north I go the less tastiness & flavor Mexican food will have but I was so hopeful about this place! Sadly it totally disappointed me. The atmosphere is fine, it's like a 'hole in the wall' type of place. Servers and cashier were friendly and the prices were really good. The food though was just not good at all. I ordered a combo plate that had 1 enchilada & 1 tamal covered in red sauce, and rice & beans. The tamal was okay, the meat inside wasn't chopped that well so it had chunks of meat in it. Some of those chunks were straight up fat so I couldn't even eat most of it. The meat in tamales (and enchiladas) is supposed to be chopped finely. The enchilada was just not good, I couldn't eat it. The meat had the same chunkiness and was dry. So it was kind of like eating a really really soggy taco. The red sauce that was over the enchilada & tamal tasted bitter, like it was just from a can that had been left open so now it just tasted oxidized and really bad. The refried beans had way too much oil and absolutely no salt, they were really gross to eat and I really do feel bad to say that. The rice was actually alright, not mushy but just plain Spanish rice, nothing great about it but I could eat it. What was good and in my opinion really good, was the red salsa that came with the tortilla chips. It was made perfectly and it was a little bit spicy which I like. I would go back just to get that salsa alone. All in all, I didn't care for this place, I didn't like the way the food tasted. It was just not good. read more

I have had quite a few of the items on their menu and found most to be very tasty! I often order the tongue burrito , tacos and the deep fried fish, all are great ! The burritos are huge and very tasty! They also have a spicy shrimp cocktail that comes in a large goblet,Spicy hot and tasty! The Mundo is also excellent,and spicy! I like the food alot,however I usually get it to go,because it tends to get quite loud with the music and the local neighbors the eat there often! Someone once told me that if you are eating ethnic food and a lot of people of that ethnicy eat there it is a good sign that it is authentic! That is the case here! Checked this place out after looking for a good spot in town. Although they give you a lot of food, I was disappointed with the quality... The enchilada sauce tasted canned and the salsas were ok. My husband got the chile rellenos and they were good. The service was great and the tortillas are homemade! Went in for a casual dinner, and was disappointed. Not vegan-vegetarian friendly. The "veggie" burrito was obvious cooked with some kind of animal products (probably lard in the beans), and got violently ill. Service was lackluster. Server offered no refills on drinks, unless alcohol was involved. read more

Mi Ranchito makes one delicious chile relleno burrito. Try it people! You won't be sorry. Mine was flavorful, with the pepper bringing just a little heat. For $6 you can't beat it. I have to say, I was a little uneasy when my friends first suggested this place for dinner. The location was a bit sketchy at night, but I'm definitely glad we stuck it out because the food was absolutely incredible! I am a sucker for Mexican food, and this is some of the most authentic and delicious food in town. The prices were cheap and beyond reasonable for the quality you're receiving, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. A cute, no-frills hole-in-the-wall place. Has a decent Mexican bottled beer selection, cheap, good, simple tacos. Warm chips (not included) and tasty mild salsa. Chile rellenos made with care, but sat too long in a fridge before reheating; made them soggy and stale, freshly-cooked would be a major improvement (and better match the menu photos). A local from the liquor store recommended it. Normally we would have yelped for a dinner spot. The music was a little loud, the lighting was horrible. The waitress was very nice but a little inattentive considering we were the only customers in there. The food was pretty tasty. I tried Mi Ranchito for the first time this week. This place is your true hole in the wall - it is located right next to a convenience store and there was a homeless man out front. Inside, however, it was pleasantly clean! And the food was the best authentic Mexican food I have had in a long time hands down! Plus, they give you a large bowl of chips and salsa prior to your meal (which I have noticed a few other places stop doing), which was also delicious!
