The best Italian food restaurant here in this city if you love live entertainment where the singers are your waitresses or waiters this is the place to be the wine is very delicious. Alfredo is amazing. I like to have my chicken Alfredo with sliced sautéed mushrooms and sautéed cherry tomatoes and they will do that for you, the original plate does not come with mushrooms or cherry tomatoes. You could only add that upon request, but they will adjust it for you. The lasagna is amazing as well. The place inside looks like a totally different city. This place is a Hollywood staple and has been for many decades and luckily didn't succumb to the pandemic pressures. Unless you have a breadstick shoved someplace it shouldn't be, you'll have a very enjoyable time with the pleasant staff, relaxing atmosphere, quality food and singing servers! Came here with my girlfriend and had a really fun night. Ambience was amazing and obviously all the singing was phenomenal. Our server Tiffany was very attentive, kind and when I had an issue with my dish she took care of it right away, not to mention she has a great voice! This place is filled with delusional wanna be singers and actors, which could be overlooked if their manager, Kevin, didn't also believe he was some Hollywood hot shot talent scout. Perusing the menu, I found many tempting dishes. Hubby, not a fan of Northern Italian cuisine and like his immigrant Mama, as I read each offering's description, he uttered, "Can make ata home." Therefore, no, pasta, no pizza, skeptical re. the veal, fish, calamari. With hope of beginning year five in marriage, here's what we "agreed" on: Antipasto Salad - Lettuce, Salami, Mozzarella, Celery, Scallions, Roasted Red Peppers, Green and Black Olives, Garbanzo Beans. Each ingredient was on point, crisp greens and not certain if it's housemade, but if it is, Miceli's should bottle the dressing, a perfect oil/acid balance. Four fresh rolls and butter included. Very sharable portion. Hubby liked it, me too, whew! Meatballs (3) and Peppers - Generous serving, hearty, savory sauce. Red and green bell peppers were not overcooked. Filling, satisfying. Not big eaters, we shared one meatball and I had another on one of those dinner rolls (toasted) for breakfast just hours ago. I'm a fan. Hubby gave permission to finish his share, said my recipe is better then opened a can of sardines, for his morning meal as we were fresh out of anchovies. The food is very plain and bland. It's not even close to being authentic Italian. My entire family agrees. I'll never go back there again. It's now a tourist trap for out of towners visiting Universal or Hollywood who don't know any better. Everything was INCREDIBLE!! Food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. Charlotte took excellent care of us and had a beautiful voice. We will definitely be coming back to this location. We've been to both locations and we prefer this one because the inside has a better orientation for everyone to hear the music and it's much more open with higher ceilings. My family and I have been coming here for decades and have never had one bad experience with service or food. However, this past Monday night my sister who was visiting for her 2nd time ever came to town and we wanted to show her our favorite Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, our server, an older woman with brown hair, didn't catch her name, was EXTREMELY rude. We had requested, from the gentlemen who asked for our drink order (prior to meeting our server) waters all around because we were thirsty and waiting for another member of the family , and a basket of bread because the bread is amazing to munch on while deciding what to eat. Without even introducing her self she said "are you guys going to only order waters". She said it with such attitude we all looked at each other like what the heck. We told her we were waiting for one more person but we will order a few drinks since she was so taken back by our waters. The last member of our family joined and she came back and we still hadn't got the bread basket yet and still deciding on what to eat. So when she came back with the drinks we asked her if she could grab us some bread that we ordered when we sat down. She VERY RUDELY said " well you didn't order it with me so I didn't know and bread is only available upon request". Again my family looking around at each other in confusion as to why she was being so rude to us. She sighed and walked away to grab the bread. She came back with a bread and ready to take our order. She took 3/4 orders and slammed her order book shut and was going to walk away before I said "my dad still needs to order..." she sighed again and opened her book and said "go ahead". He ordered and she AGAIN slammed her book shut and walked away. I'm the first person to understand that people can have a bad day but I've worked in customer service for 15+ years you leave it at the door before coming to work, and if you can't... you definitely don't take it out on your customers. at the end of our meal, I decided to mention it to the host as well, and all she said was well I hope you didn't leave a good tip". I am deeply saddened to say that my experience at Miceli's Italian Restaurant was nothing short of a disaster. My family and I visited the restaurant to celebrate my daughters' 18th and 21st birthdays, which happen to fall on the same day. We called ahead and spoke to the manager Kevin, and had high hopes for a memorable evening, but unfortunately, it was a nightmare.  We were all looking forward to a great meal, and we saved our appetite all day. My daughters are vegetarians and ordered the vermicelli puttanesca dish without anchovies, but after eating it, both got sick to the point of throwing up at the restaurant. The other food we ordered was equally unappetizing and went uneaten, including the pesto linguine and chicken linguine that tasted like it was dragged through the ocean and was so incredibly salty they were inedible.  I remained calm, but despite bringing the issue to the staff's attention, the manager, Kevin, did not even come to speak to us and left it to the waitress Ariel to handle. No apology, No remorse, nothing. We paid the bill, plus a mandatory 20% service charge of $46; they explained because there were 6 of us. We were forced to leave before the staff could even sing Happy Birthday to my daughters because they were so ill. To make matters worse, my daughters were sick for the next two days, and we were all devastated because their milestone birthday was ruined.   I reached out to the manager to express my disappointment, but my call went unanswered for several days, even after leaving messages for the manager to call us back. When I finally spoke to the owner, Joe, he refused to show any sympathy and called me a liar and con artist while yelling and cursing profusely. He told me to look up food poisoning on Google, saying it takes 48 hours to show symptoms. Then he told me to "ef off" and hung up.  As a long-time patron of Miceli's, I cannot express my disappointment. I never expected to be treated so poorly. I've been a loyal customer of Miceli's for over 25 years, but after this experience, I won't be back. I am appalled by the owner's behavior and the food's quality. My family's special evening was ruined, and my daughters were left crying and distraught, and the owner, Joe, clearly didn't care. It's such a shame that my daughters' milestone birthdays were ruined, creating the worst possible memory for our family. To add insult to injury, the lack of empathy shown by the owner, Joe, and his restaurant is unacceptable. I don't understand why they were so quick to disregard the safety and well-being of their customers. He should be ashamed of himself. Please Note: 97% of my reviews are five stars because I like to share good food recommendations and experiences, but this experience was so horrible I felt the need to warn others so they don't experience what happened to me.  Miceli's Italian Restaurant in Studio City doesn't deserve the one-star I was forced to give it. read more

Was about to microwave my Miceli's leftovers (chicken paramigiana) from last night and decided to flip it over‍ a bit over cooked to say the least! How could their chef send burnt black food out to a customer. Guess they didn't think it would matter since it was smothered in cheese. As an Italian myself I'm quite picky when it comes down to food as I know real Italian cooking. The alcoholic drink with basil was disgusting no matter how much I wanted to like it just wasn't giving. This is not the best, but rather, possibly the worst popular "Italian" restaurant in Los Angeles. You could get better pizza almost anywhere, and the tomato based pasta sauces are very acidic and flavorless. The "baked" mostacccioli is just a plate of pasta with tomato sauce on top covered in melted mozzarella. The friendly servers have excellent singing voices and the place is very lively, loud and fun. We've been hearing about Miceli's for over a year now. I made a mental note to give it a try and we finally did. Our family enjoyed the nostalgic Italian atmosphere. It reminded us of restaurants we've eaten at in New York and New Jersey. We're happy to know Miceli's is in L.A., and while it won't be a regular spot for us, we'll definitely be back! The food was fair, but the overall experience is what we took away. Our server was attentive when she wasn't singing. If you didn't know, the servers sing at Miceli's, it's part of the shtick. Our server had a nice operatic-voice. We sang along (at our table) with some of the other servers as they belted out oldies but goodies. At one point, Ariel, from The Little Mermaid, walked around singing Part of Your World. Kidding. It was a server who entertained patrons while they dined on fried calamari, chicken Parmesan and spumoni.
